This Full Moon at 8 Pisces-Virgo opens two weeks of dynamic releases that will open many to new truths, new futures, new possibilities “at a distance,” and a broader vision of our “indestructible elements of Being.”
This will release a lot of energy related to our past willingness to do what it took to use faith plus works to find what we need to expand into the ideas and perceptions set into motion the last half of 2012. In recent weeks we’ve been challenged to be willing to see a clear vision, find a workable plan, and find the right time to begin what we need to. Now things become very productive with stable understanding, even as much is expressed through the powerful Mutable T-square involving the Moon, Sun, and Jupiter.
As most of you already know, forming aspects show things to come, while separating aspects show things already in the past. This Full Moon has a wide variety of different aspects, both frictional and harmonizing, with Jupiter focusing the widespread building energies through being the release point for the tensions and realizations generated by the Moon opposition Sun.
Of note, we have very strong favorable forming aspects from planets between 8 and 20 degrees of the Earth and Water signs, with a lot of power generated by 4 planets in Pisces plus Chiron. The Moon is opposed Mercury and Mars while also forming a sextile to Saturn and trine to Pluto. Mercury and the Sun are conjunct Mars while trine Saturn and sextile Pluto. And with Saturn sextile Pluto, we have powerful stabilizing, productive, and harmonizing planets anchoring Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces, generating harmony across those signs along with the synthetic voids created in Taurus and Cancer.
As it involves harmonious aspects between Moon, Sun, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Pluto, and Chiron, we can expect productivity and stabilization where we have Aries, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. This will make for excellent progress in life areas ruled by or occupied by any natal or progressed planets in our charts.
When we add Mars quintile Pluto we can expect some highly unique and specialized tools to come out way to “cut to the chase.” This quintile opens voids around 7-12 Capricorn, 19-24 Pisces, 1-6 Gemini, 13-18 Leo, and 25-30 Libra. If you have a planet in these zones, expect some things to become very clear very quickly!
Of note is that since Saturn is still on its stationary retrograde degree, we’re still at the beginning of the primary Saturn lesson for 2013, that of conducting ourselves and our interactions at a high level or civility and culture rather than with an everyday type of approach. Beginning now, we are all called to become “ambassadors at an embassy ball.”
Besides these aspects, the other forming ones include Venus conjunct the Sun and Neptune (out of sign, or OOS) and decile (semi-quintile) Uranus and the ever-present Uranus square Pluto putting the hard edge on our times. In this Lunation the solutions to the larger tensions of Uranus and Pluto involve learning how to cooperate with our invisible helpers as we begin to live a new law in our lives, and figure out what we need to protect or uplift while living on multiple levels simultaneously.
There is also a need for regarding this time as a long wave experiment, learning the natural laws behind what’s happening. Search for the mystery, find a way to dig deeper for knowledge while also being more natural in living a balanced existence, and remember you’re seeing Soul patterns that are yet to be “incarnated.”
It’s important to note that Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. This particular Lunation has only that opposition, even though it involves other planets also in Pisces. So in this chart the Moon is opposed Mercury and Mars, intensifying the polarization between Virgo and Pisces in our charts.
Though Venus doesn’t make many strong aspects in this chart, it does “lead the Sun,” showing that relationships and values will be in evidence before we “see the light” in a thing. Neptune also leads the Sun, showing this will be an extremely “spiritual” Full Moon, with the possibility of deep and vast inspiration, compassion, and closures through feeling what’s ending or ended.
Those who are strongly impacted by this Lunation (those with planets in the first 8 degrees of Pisces, Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, and Capricorn) should have some amazing dreams, both sleeping and waking, that bring you a greater sense of peace and connectedness with others, including those you never knew. This Full Moon awakens us to our “indestructible elements of Being,” and is a call to some form of life renewal.
Separating aspects show things already past. This chart has a separating Moon opposition Venus, quincunx Uranus, and opposition to Neptune. Other separating aspects include Venus tredecile Saturn, Sun conjunct Neptune, Mars trine Saturn, Jupiter triseptile Saturn, sextile Uranus, and square Neptune, and Saturn biquintile Uranus.
These all show us that we’ve been through major “fork in the road” developments involving Gemini, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces sectors of our charts. We’ve stabilized a lot of plans while making adjustments helping us embrace cosmic elements of our Being and see future social or emotional patterns already being set into motion. We’ve also been learning the power of the subconscious mind in affecting behavior, and calming our minds to receive higher inspiration through the adjustments required in the recent past.
The Grand Irrationality is not triggered in this Full Moon, nor will it be until the New Moon at 21 Aries on April 10. However, the biggest “forks in the road of destiny” will happen in the two weeks after the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 6 Taurus-Scorpio on April 25, 12:57 pm PDT, 8:57 pm Greenwich. Late April and early May will set many things into motion directly related to what we first initiated in August-September 2012 and reviewed, revisited, or got new information about in November.
To remind you, the Grand Irrationality is a long wave irrational atmospheric field generated at this time in history. It began around 1992-1995, and will last a few more years.
It’s why there’s such a hard edge to things, and a lot of obsessive-compulsive behavior dominates in society. Certainly there’s much that makes absolutely no sense right now.
At this time, the seven hot zones most impacted by the Grand Irrationality right now are 9-13 Capricorn, 1-5 Pisces, 23-27 Aries, 14-18 Gemini, 6-10 Leo, 27 Virgo- 1 Libra, and 18-22 Scorpio. Please check out recent articles on this long wave configuration to learn more.
In this chart, Neptune is the only planet in its own sign. Of major importance is that all the other planets have Mercury and Jupiter as their final dispositors, and these two are in mutual reception. You can find out more about this phenomenon that strengthens each of the two planets by going to the article Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
So Just What Was the New Moon Theme for this Period?
Remember that the qualities of the Full Moon express whatever new directions we were shown at the previous New Moon. You will recall its theme was about hitting a turning point in our lives where our appreciation will lead to major rewards in the future. It indicated that we are expanding into multiple levels of living, and finding solid understanding of how to stand for what we believe in while hearing the call to some form of life renewal.
The Sun in this Lunation is the same degree that Mercury was in the New Moon, indicating that we’ve seen, heard, or thought about this renewal the past two weeks, and now it gets powered up. This period also shows us how to sidestep hassles that aren’t ours to take on, and have faith that if we do the right thing we’ll find what we need.
From the New Moon articles:
This New Moon in Aquarius is idealizing, relational, generalizing, and will show us how to make progress within simpler, more comfortable circumstances. Figure out who your friend are or aren’t, be thoughtful and intuitive in playing it somewhat conservatively, and find “unusual good luck” by putting together a bigger picture as you search for the deeper meaning of the mystery that presents itself to you. This is a time of emotional revelation for many, and these revelations will sprout wings and take flight in July and August 2013.The next four weeks will throw everyone into a stabilizing synthesized view wherever we have Aquarius in our charts, while continuing the lessons of having faith that if we just do the right things at the right time to sense what will nourish us and do what we must to bring it up to the surface of our life, we shall have our faith rewarded and see how we’re in a cooperative dance with Nature Herself.
This time will open up new vision, new depth-understanding, new connections, and new relationships. There is much “soft power” available for those who are following through on playing the plan they implemented last month, but keep in mind that with Saturn in Scorpio, we’re still in a long term elimination-regeneration phase of our lives and work...
...The general theme is that through our openness and willingness to take a higher road or a higher view, while feeling more deeply and compassionately and “hearing the call to a life renewal,” we will find ourselves operating on multiple levels of life simultaneously. This will allow us to find fulfillment and self-reliance in doing whatever we must to reach a higher level of social functioning. Ultimately, over the next few weeks we can grow safely and happily with others in secure life conditions, so be grateful for the opportunities to expand into interactions that help us leave past disappointments behind.
Continuing the metaphor, Saturn in Scorpio is like bone regeneration, or the elimination of all in our skin and bones that would block our humanitarian instincts, whether toward ourselves or others. We’ve already turned the corner, and many have already done the hard elimination or reconstruction work that position indicates we’re all going though in our own ways and times.
Here’s more:
A New Moon sets the seed forms for what the following 4 weeks will demonstrate. This Lunation falls at 22 Aquarius. While I've given you a sense of this degree up to now, this is where we go into depth. The symbol is "A rug placed on a floor for children to play.” According to Rudhyar’s notes from the Marc Jones class, this degree is one of “Life’s warmth and richness given to those who eagerly learn to live,” “Luxurious self-knowing, or self-appreciation,” and “Comfort.”
In the Astrological Mandala, he says this degree involves "the warmth of understanding which comes to those who, early in life, are open to new possibilities.” He states this degree shows us how we’re “left without assistance when eagerly seeking to grow emotionally and spiritually” so we can “realize the intent and value of what sustains (our) self-development and cushions the shocks which life provides (our) growth in understanding.”
He continues that this symbol “contrasts the kindness inherent in … life situations with the tragic feeling of disillusionment” preceding this symbol. He states “through a warm appreciation of basic opportunities and even small comforts, we can safely and happily grow into personal maturity.”
He says it falls in the span of Perspective, and it's the second degree of the emotional-cultural level of the scene of Management in the Act of Capitalization. So for this month we’re being taught how to appreciate our comforts as we grow into a more secure growth pattern, and many may find much to appreciate about their path, their skills, and their self-knowing,.
According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, the degree is one of “the unlimited service of life at large to the special requirements of an individual’s comfort or everyday convenience.” This is about our ability to find what we need for self-development, where we are “ever discovering (ourselves) in situations where (we) may concentrate (our) efforts to the best possible advantage on the perfection and employment of (our) personal skills.”
He offers us the keyword of REFINEMENT. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is "unusual capacity for the exploitation of immediate resources and the deepening of every potential of selfhood.”
So we enter a time of feeling appreciation and gratitude for how we’ve been protected and sometimes even made comfortable during our times of growth out of disappointment and discouragement. Our openness will show us how to grow appropriately into a greater individual expression.
Here we see how we’ve been given the exact circumstances we needed to grow out of unhelpful feelings and interpersonal disappointments. We may now find ourselves in situations where we can concentrate on refining and using our personal skills to develop what we need and deepen our potential.
As with the New Moon, a curious and rare thing is happening. The overall planetary pattern is a “Bucket” Jones pattern. However, rather than the usual one focal determinator, the planet that acts as a handle or nozzle for the other planets, this one has two focal determinators.
Jupiter in Gemini has been a primary nozzle for quite some time, since it’s been outside the occupied span. However, due to where the Moon is right now, it also serves as an “alternative focus” for the rest of the energies.
Each are fairly far away (at least a sextile, or 60 degrees) from their nearest neighbors, indicating they operate as “independent agents,” so to speak. The Moon begins one span that has Jupiter as the handle, and Saturn begins a span that has the Moon as the handle. So in this spread, the Moon and Jupiter each and both serve to focus energy.
The Moon is the nozzle for, and focuses Scorpio through Gemini; Jupiter is the nozzle for, and focuses Virgo through Aries. Students of the craft should take note, since each are equally in play, but involving very different energies focused through very different signs. They both involve us learning to being open to whatever they're about.
So What is a “Bucket Pattern” and how does it work?
This type of spread, with all the planets in about half the signs with one outside that span wide enough to be a handle, creates a “Bucket” Jones Pattern. The energies of the occupied half are focused through the “handle,” or “nozzle,” in this case Jupiter and Saturn are termed “focal determinator,” and represents the way to greater effectiveness, the cause to be embraced, the lack to be filled, or the way to use the total energies of this time in a focused manner.
Dr. Jones states “the bucket type indicates a particular and rather uncompromising direction in the life effort.” This pattern gives “interest in a cause,” with executive tendencies that will adapt allegiances to maximize results of the effort. He says “the bucket type at its best reveals the real instructor and inspirer of others, and at its worst the agitator and malcontent.” This is the larger planetary pattern within which we’re all trying to do what we do.
We are also told this pattern is more about finding an effective release for energy within social settings, but also about the self imposing its pattern on society rather than adapting to what is there. It’s about focused intention. So all of us can expect some sort of focused attention on the houses where we have early Gemini and early Virgo.
With 5 planets in Water, 2 in Air, 2 in Earth, and 1 in Fire, we have an emphasis on feelings, with a balance between ideas and relationships with practicality and worldly focus. There is a deficiency in Fire, showing that inspiration must come from within rather than external events. Since Air and Earth are “cool” elements and Fire and Water are “hot” elements, things may be a bit hotter and more emotional over the next two weeks.
More on how Uranus Square Pluto Is Ramping Up Radical Energies!
As I’ve mentioned off and on over the past 2+ years, (and earlier in this article!), we’re all learning to manage the “out of control” energies of Uranus square Pluto. I’ve discussed this aspect at length over quite a few articles in the archives. Use the site google box to find out more about this years’ long disruptive revolutionary influence. Welcome to the 21st century of upheaval, transformation, and titanic collisions between a new world being born and an old age that’s digging in even as it’s dying.
That square represents the ongoing revolution of our times, with innovations and pioneering energies in conflict with restrictive and controlling power structures. We’ll be dealing with this for a few years, and it promises to make this year and next very “electric and eclectic,” moving the world through a revolution unlike any seen since the 1960s!!
Uranus is on a degree of learning about living on multiple levels of existence and finding fulfillment and happiness in all of them. It’s about versatility in our work, and forms of self-expansion. In this Lunation we can find ways to control events through shifting focus away from the irrelevant or lesser to more important things.
As I noted in past Lunation articles, we’re now moving into a different social orientation for many years, so continue to learn how to concentrate to see the whole picture, as this shows us how to externalize our higher Self in new individual ways. It’s going to be the major theme for 2013, and given the aspects in play in this chart, there will be a lot of building on productive understandings resulting from the critical forks in the road indicated by the New Moon chart governing this period. Regard this time as a “science lesson” showing you the laws of Nature.
In the recent past, we’ve all been challenged to learn to concentrate to align with a deeper and higher power, and now we can enjoy playing a new role and living in new ways. We are still being challenged to get beyond fear, see things from the past differently, and find relief through expressing the Higher Self that’s been “cut and polished” in past months. We can grow into a larger role when we’re confronted by old Pluto roles, coercions, and heavy-handed corrosive behavior. We can use this square in two big ways, both now and into the future.
We can exercise good Pluto function to put the brakes on negative Uranian manifestations, and good Uranus function to put the brakes on negative Pluto manifestations. Look to the harmonizing aspects to each to show which is building and which one is the release point for those energies. In this chart, Uranus is specializing many things in everyone’s lives, so go with the new rather than the established.
The Cusp of Where The Age of Pisces Gives Way to the Age of Aquarius
As I've mentioned in other Lunation articles, a major factor in this season is that Neptune now stands VERY close to "the cusp of the Age." Beginning February 2011, it danced between its stationary direct transformational degree of 29 Aquarius when we began the end game of a collective transfiguration, and 1 Pisces, the cusp of where the Age of Pisces gives way to the Age of Aquarius. We’re collectively there as a human race, and Neptune has been showing us glimpses into the greater Way, Truth, and Life that we share together, expressed through the sign of compassion, forgiveness, and unity of feeling-awareness in the great “Ocean of Life.”
Neptune in very early Pisces has major implications for humanity as a whole. I’ve discussed this phenomenon of Neptune dancing back and forth between early Pisces and late Aquarius in many previous articles, opening the collective consciousness to the energies of this transitional period, this “time cusp” between the Age of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius. This happened throughout 2011 and 2012. When Neptune finally went stationary direct at 1 Pisces in late 2012, it marked a platform from which humanity will confront many ghosts of the past centuries over the next couple of years.
In the larger precessional Age, our world is at 1 Pisces right now. Thanks to prior transits of both Neptune and Chiron to this degree, many of us have collectively awakened to a vast connectedness with all Life and all Time. This degree is one of joyously rallying as we begin the closing of a long cycle.
Dr. Marc Edmund Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, points out that the first degree of Pisces, "the cusp of the Age," is "a symbol of full maturity in (humanity's) social estate, with an emphasis on the group integrity" facilitating each to develop their special patterns. This degree is about a willingness for each of us to do our part in the larger "common ideals of a community life."
Here we refine our ambition through "a consistent generosity toward the aims of others with a real intensity of effort directed toward its own ends." The keyword is COMMERCE, and when positive, this degree "is an exceptional capacity for organizing the converging and conflicting interests of many people in practical arrangements of mutual benefit."
So this is where humanity as a whole is at right now. I believe we will finally enter the Age of Aquarius sometime between 2045-2070, when we all will see the concrete manifestations of Aquarian patterns that were awakened by Uranus and have been dreamed into collective consciousness by Neptune during these planets' movement through late Aquarius. (Please also check out part one of that series since it elaborates on the transition between the Age of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius.)
This is a time to see a bigger picture, and be creative in moving through what’s breaking down and what’s coming into clear focus. Keep alert to others who share your various Ray and sub-Ray frequencies. With Saturn in Scorpio, this is a great time to get focused, eliminating all that is irrelevant to your long term growth patterns. Or perhaps you can use the energy to regenerate in some way so that you “take command of the Great Work” and perfect your various physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual “vehicles” to express exactly what you’re here to do.
What's the proper sequence at present of deciding, feeling, and thinking, and an Overview of the Lunation
As a process of moving through events, first get clear about what you’re feeling and/or experiencing, and make decisions and actions accordingly. Then find the information you need to get a clear picture. This is about learning to follow a feeling or hunch or experience into facts, decisions, and actions, after which we must find new information, new understanding, and new views. It’s a great time to learn and/or teach through anecdote.
So feel what have to be felt, and if necessary name what you’re experiencing or feeling, and then allow those impressions to lead you to a simple fact that allows you to act on that feeling. Then after you’ve decided or acted, then go get new understanding or new idea about how to view or interpret or communicate something. After you’ve felt your way into a different idea set, or gotten newer, more up to date information as a result of that decision or action, the these new ideas or views will naturally lead to the next set of feelings and experiences.
To sum up, this Lunation will help us feel and experience life on broader and deeper levels that require us to hear the call to a form of life renewal, and find the self-discipline to demonstrate our potential to master some skill. It is a time to see how our mind is generating disruptive energy, and find a broader view of the deeper elements within us that show us major inner changes.
This is a time to search for greater ways to be of service, how to keep the initiative and momentum in our own hands, and how to demonstrate a new form of self-expression. Find the central order to integrate your varied interests, don’t get lost in too much going on, pay attention to details showing you new forms of self-discipline, and be clear not to take on too much or neglect important matters.
As usual, while Jupiter is in Gemini we’ll continue to learn more and more, expanding the truths and new potential futures opened while liberating us from ghosts of the past that were indicated in the 2011 Gemini Solar Eclipse. As Jupiter is now direct, we’re on the threshold of being liberated once and for all, free to embrace new ways of thinking, communicating, and externalizing what we know.
Of course, with both the Moon and Jupiter ruled by Mercury retrograde, expect a bit of "back to the future" over the next few weeks. While there may be delays, it'll be good for research, rehearsals, getting a new view on old actions and events, and filling in some perceptual gaps. And it does promise that in the end and at the appointed time, our needs will be met among those who share our spiritual web of energy.
Despite the cross currents, embrace the adventure of a greater view of the whole of things, and get beyond perceptual frames and traps. This is the time to search, to explore, and to learn about the Natural laws governing outer events. Find a new sense of purpose, cut loose from old mental boxes and frames of reference, and do what you must to embrace a new life based in the call you’re hearing.
We all have the ability to live on multiple levels of life and enjoy ourselves in many different ways in many different relationships. See your larger Soul field, and open to illuminations showing you who you could be once you’re free of obsolete considerations. Eliminate to regenerate, do not clutch at old feelings, and look below the surface to get clear about how and what to reorganize.
This continues a new freedom and adventure that will fill the void created by the Eclipses of 2011. This powers up a life renewal, deeper wisdom and feelings, and new truths. This Lunation may be difficult for some, especially those with planets around 6-9 Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, and Sagittarius, but it breaks any stuck stuff loose so that we can move into a future pattern.
Release old views and interpretations and go deeper. Embrace the spirit of exploration that allows you to see the adventure of discovery as leading you to depth understanding about the relationship of the material to the Spiritual, the form to the energy behind and within all forms.
As with previous months, I’ll remind you not to take the larger tensions, pressures, and friction personally. Though the larger atmosphere is tense and conflicted, it’s really only the play of invisible forces leading us all to new forms of individualization that will block old shadows of control mechanisms that are useless anyway.
As I’ve noted in previous Full Moon articles, since all shadows result from light hitting a dense object, it’s better to become as translucid as possible to dispel lurking shadows. And if you must look at the shadows, then refocus on the object being illuminated, since that’s the source of the shadow.
Find the correct 4 angles of illuminating whatever you want to focus on, and all shadows will be dispelled. Then you’re seeing things with an illuminated mind, and can act accordingly.

Dreams galore, almost don't want to fully wake-up in the morning. If I fall back to sleep they continue. My dogs want to go out and I tell them just a few more minutes...
And I always blamed these wild occurrances on Neptune. Thank you Roberto, for giving me the Jupiter-nozzle effect. This Baja earthling floats in water like an island. You R2 cool.

Im the opposite to the above, my sleep has been awful last few nights, tossing and turning waking up like Ive been running a marathon so tried to look at dreams as interpretation been naturnal since childhood but nope nothing, not recalling dreaming or anything in it which was also strange. I have however realised that I am in fact fighting ghost trying to stop me moving forward and leaving them behind, so there is nothing to fight they are just ghosts why waste energy, feel much better walking round today with "who ya gonna gall...Ghost busters!" and having a regular chuckle of enjoyment of the perspective.

I'm loving my sleep also. I crave it, as the activity is high. My natal sun and moon are at 7 and 6 Pisces and natal Mercury is at 24 Pisces. I feel like I'm poised for "re"- everything. haha
Peace and light to all.

My dreams have been without some sort of discernible narrative that I can understand. Many people from my past (many of whom I have no idea why they're showing up, like HS classmates I was not friends with in the first place) with an emphasis on exchanges of the materially miniscule (ex: a HS letter jacket, an old co-worker handing me a pencil from work, a short convo about nothing particular). There is a lot of waking up with a feeling of "what was that all about?" Perhaps Robert's essay on themes of renewal may better help me explain these dreams.
I have natal Saturn at 7 Virgo. The Full Moon is in between my NN and IC at 15 and that Saturn at 7. The Full Moon is also sextile 8 Cancer ASC, having a small convo with natal Moon at 5 Libra and Quintile natal Uranus in Scorpio. Transiting Sun is sextile natal Sun in Taurus, trine Natal Uranus, and square natal Neptune in Sag. On top of all THAT, transiting Saturn is in loose opposition to natal Sun, sextile natal Saturn, trine to ASC and MC. Also, transiting Pluto square natal Moon and Venus in Aries (still), trine natal Saturn. SO, basically a lot of outer-planet pressures that I did not know what to do with and kind of just let that energy do it's thing without trying to control or second guess it. Robert's essay on the Full Moon helps me get more of a grasp on it, however. I have been noticing themes in my waking life which is that relationships (no matter how big or small) are of some importance and are most usually indications of something "bigger" or internal and that there is some sort of call to action right now. That I've done a lot of work internally and now it's time to do something externally. That, perhaps, thinking positively is not completion, but the step-up into positive action and that both collectively lead to positive rewards.
As Robert says, we can work with Mother Nature or source energy and, perhaps, this is what we're all learning right now in our own way. This call to action makes even more sense for me when taken into consideration that the upcoming lunar event in Taurus/Scorpio will conjunct my natal Sun/Uranus opposition.
Thank you so much Robert for your sharing your gift with us. As I said, I would not have any clue what all of these goings on in my chart could mean at all if not for your site.
