This organizing, quickening, nurturing Full Moon at 26 Capricorn-Cancer will show us that taking responsibility within a caring focus is important as we learn to feel things that help us to a greater effectiveness. These two weeks we take the courage we’ve been generating since the last New Moon and express it as a clear understanding of practical and emotional things.
At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.
That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. This particular Lunation has two other oppositions, two of which were in effect last Full Moon, but are much closer now. Those are Venus opposed Jupiter and Jupiter opposed Pluto. Pay attention to the Jupiter opposition Pluto energies, since it’s part of a major ongoing lesson we’re all learning through April 2014.
We first experienced Jupiter opposition Pluto from July through September, with the exact opposition at 10 Cancer-Capricorn in early August. The 31 January 2014 opposition at 13 Cancer-Capricorn is the second in the set. The third and final opposition will be the most powerful, when we demonstrate how well we’ve learned the lessons of this extreme oppositional energy.
The third opposition will fall exactly at the point of what I have termed “The Great Fracturing” of April 14-24. This span will have several periods that will be extraordinarily difficult due to very tight Grand Cardinal Cross. That opposition will happen at 14 Cancer-Capricorn, when Jupiter is conjunct the Star Sirius, the “Sun of our Sun,” and source of all the Ageless Wisdom Traditions on our planet. You can find out more about Sirius by taking a new look at Mercury Stationary Direct Affecting July, August, September, and October 2013 – Finding Timeless Truths, Fearlessness, and Our Spiritual Source
I wrote a lot about Jupiter opposition Pluto last Summer in the various articles about the Cardinal T-squares and Grand Crosses, so if you want to know more, please visit the archives to get a sense of what this long wave opposition is all about. You can also understand more by revisiting the articles on the Merkaba events of that time.
The Venus opposition Jupiter and Jupiter to Pluto can be a very beneficial set of oppositional energies due to Saturn in Scorpio harmonizing with Venus and Jupiter. Even though it’s separating by aspect, in general Jupiter is in a sign harmonious to Saturn, which keeps everything somewhat stable amidst the oppositional energies.
Due to Venus square Mars and opposed Jupiter, it “collects the light” and re-triggers the Cardinal T-square. Due to the presence of Pluto, the energies are volatile, may be experienced as inharmonious, and both echoes and releases energy related to past cardinal T-squares over the past 3+ years. It will be most challenging to those born the first week of April, July, October, and January, as well as those with planets or angles between approximately 14-20 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.
The good news is that this T-square can release a lot of pent-up energy, helping break log jams and stuck situations. It is especially good for those who are riding a wave of synthesis, having found courage to embrace their own unique way since the last New Moon. As with last month, lessons around these opposition involve taking a new look at opportunities that may not be opportunities, using a scientific approach to figure out how best to proceed in any interaction or activity, and keeping everything open and above board.
We continue to be offered forms of success through keeping our eyes on the prize, not settling for lesser things when greater things are at stake, and always put our best self out there. This is showing us our willingness to stick with thing until we get what we deserve, and Jupiter’s natural caution in Cancer serves us as we learn to navigate the Saturn in Scorpio flow with patience, discipline, and a long range plan.
Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?
The Moon in Cancer is ruled by itself, while the Sun is ruled by Saturn in worldly affairs and Uranus in spiritual matters. This makes the Water element loom large in how the Moon expresses itself, with a very intense feeling backdrop to the Sun.
In this chart, most of the planets are ruled by the chain of dispositors involving Venus in Capricorn, Saturn in Scorpio, and Mars in Libra, ruled by Venus. So Jupiter is ruled by the Moon, creating one closed circuit, and as usual, Neptune in Pisces is its own dispositor, though it does have some mutual influence with Jupiter. You can find more about dispositors by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
Even though this chart is technically a See-Saw Jones Pattern, it shifts with the Moon’s sign changes. Due to Saturn being a dispositor of both Venus and Pluto, and Saturn being one of the Water anchors for the off-again, on-again Splay configuration that comes into play depending on the Moon’s sign position, it intensifies the prominence of Scorpio energies. We continue to be put in touch with a deeper reality, or a deeper feeling of connection with others as well as our own emotional depth.
As noted in part 1, we’re in for a few months when the Grand Irrationality is in full play due to Saturn occupying the Scorpio zone of this configuration. Later in this article I’ll give you a link that will take you to a recent article that elaborates on the phenomenon, as well as the hot zones that trigger these choices, changes, and events that mark forks in the road of destiny across many areas of our lives.
The tide of Jupiter trine Saturn since last June has offered us all a quickened current that is taking us somewhere. Overall this is a time of quickened flow, emotional intelligence, and a new stability that will be with us for years. As in June, July, August, and September, we will be experiencing our Soul promptings more acutely during this time of deep feelings and necessary structuring.
The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon
This Full Moon falls at 26 Cancer-Capricorn. It is said that the last third (decan) of any sign deals with the mental-spiritual levels of life, and being the last decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Pisces and Virgo.
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar degree symbol for the 26th degree of Capricorn is "A water sprite.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols, Rudhyar ways this is a degree of “transcendence of spirit over body and environment,” lightness of understanding,” “inexhaustible soul resources,” and “effervescence.”
He goes on to say in The Astrological Mandala that this refers to “the ability to perceive the hidden and creative spirit of natural phenomena.” He states this degree is related to the World Soul, as well as nature spirits that are associated with the natural cycle of water in the biosphere. “Water binds all living cells in a wholesome interplay,” and “symbolizes the constant flow of vital energies” as they relate to universal processes.
He further tells us this symbol is about “a deep intuition of superphysical energies” which are to be mastered, so that our “consciousness becomes sensitized to the downward flow of occult energy in its bountiful natural aspect.” So the illumination available via this Full Moon is through the light of a fluidity of consciousness revealing an element of the world soul, where we understand vaster soul resources and a new transcendent understanding. This degree falls in the Span of Dependence, and is the initial degree in the Scene of Group Performance on the individual-mental level of the Act of Capitalization.
Dr. Marc E Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of “pure mastery of experience in its inner or spiritual aspect,” where “pure integrity of self asserts itself as a protection against blind or inept participation in the current course of events, and calls for a conscious self=idealization in even the most unimportant or transient functions of life.” He states “spontaneity is demanded as a necessary quickening to values.”
He offers us the keyword RESTLESSNESS. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is “an exceptional sensitiveness to overall implications and high skill in avoiding drab or common place involvements.”
So this is a degree of learning to open to a greater individual function within a larger group performance, and mastering experience through our spiritual discipline. Follow the restlessness, and you will sense the world Soul you’re a part of. Here we have the power to break free of “drab or commonplace involvements” and participate in a greater fluidity of consciousness.
The Lunar degree symbol for the 26th degree of Cancer is “Contentment and happiness in luxury, people reading on davenports.” In the original Jones class notes, Rudhyar says this is a degree of the “emergence of consciousness upon higher levels of being, once life has been fulfilled at normal levels,” and “conscious fruition.”
In the Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree symbolizes “the transference of social privilege to the level of intellectual enjoyment.” We are told this is “the concretization of cultural excellence and wealth at the level at which individuals can exercise their developed mental capacities in comfort,” and “the result of such a concentration, including the acquisition of friends who can relax in and enjoy intellectual pursuits.”
He states that this symbol shows us the way to improving our minds and “keeping up with intellectual trends of the time, thus maintaining class standards of information. What is at stake here is the need to conform to the requirements of one’s social status.” He says this degree falls in the Span of Ingenuousness, Act of Stabilization, and Scene of Consolidation on the Individual-Mental level.
Dr. Jones says this is a degree of “pure mastery of experience in its outer aspect, and of a full capitalization on the potentials of all being in a personal and ultimately immortal realization.” He says this symbol warns against “idle self-indulgence,” and reminds us that “any lessening of practical responsibility is primarily a call to self-strengthening and a prelude to some greater outreaching.”
He gives us the keyword REPOSE. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is “a relaxation valuable for the momentary sustainment of human aspiration whenever it is strained beyond its powers of self-regeneration.”
From these symbols it seems we can use the Light of a sensitivity to the infinite energies of the World Soul to take shape in new forms of relaxation and self-improvement that helps us regenerate. Here the Light of Personal Responsibility and power takes form as a way to take care of ourselves and/or others in order to be more comfortable with the part we play in society.
As with the last several Full Moons, important transformations helping us see a deeper Mystery are evoked by this Lunation. This calls us to a greater empathy and ability to know shared feelings, and continues to educate us in an emotional understanding we’ve experienced since June. As usual, just keep moving with the flow, don’t try to push the river, and go deeper in your inner and outer feeling connections.
Learn to trust the process, and trust in your ability to navigate these currents as you embrace a new life. This feeling magnetism is showing us who are part of our Soul-group.
TransPluto, Divine Mother, Neptune, and the Polarization in the Collective Atmosphere
One important thing to note. In the Full Moon charts of 2009-2012, Neptune was in a very close opposition to TransPluto, the planet symbolizing Divine Mother Energy. That a factor in why things have been so polarized the past several years, teaching humanity compassion and the need for Viveka, or Divine Discrimination. This has offered all of us opportunities to join together in the Great Mother and realize our interrelatedness on a feeling level with All-That-Is.
The energies of Divine Mother will only grow stronger throughout this century, and these will be demonstrated each time the planets make significant aspects to TransPluto. In this chart TransPluto occupies the first degree of Virgo, showing us the long term future of humanity. Again, the Divine Redeemer is showing us ways to show Viveka through understand the place and function of individual differences.
A brief note on the larger Era. We approach the end of the TransPluto (Percephone, Parvati) in Leo era that we’ve known since September 20, 1935. Since October, 2011, we’ve been a transition period where this planet will dance at the last degree of Leo and first degree of Virgo through July 5, 2014.
So enjoy this penultimate period before the transition to a different transitional Era. After then we enter the TransPluto in Virgo era that will last through July, 2107, when it leaves Virgo for good and re-enters Libra for the last time, also after a few years of dancing on the cusp of Virgo and Libra.
Important Chart Factors
Many are finding a new stability or new sense of permanence wherever they have Scorpio in their chart. However, others are being forced to confront various life voids, and learning to “hold the empty space” to get a better sense of the limits and possibilities of their magnetism. As Saturn is fully in the Scorpio zone of the Grand Irrationality, humanity will again confront radical forks in the road of destiny that will be determined by their decisions, actions, and non-actions.
Jupiter at 15 Cancer offers us new approaches to getting what nourishes or sustains us. Be practical and natural as you “materialize the spiritual” in your life in a concrete way. While it’s retrograde until early March 2014, take a new look at your conception of what success might look like, and put yourself out so that others can see and applaud your talents. We’re still in an active process of personality integration through the house that Jupiter is transiting in our charts. As this is a process, we’ll be focused on this through April 2014.
Mars shows that it’s time to face consequences for past and present actions and non-actions, and some will renew a repair or reconstruction work that has its roots in 2011. Keep things on track despite momentary distractions and interruptions, fit things into a long range perspective, and make sure you’re using the right means to attain your ends.
This require avoiding extremes and preserving potency while finding “unattached and strife transcending” ways of get above the ugliness of industrial existence. Also see how to continue to nurture your growth pattern in play since last Summer while allowing for the introduction of “new blood” to blend with the best of what’s been established.
I touched on the importance of Saturn in the Scorpio zone of the Grand Irrationality in part one of this Full Moon series. There may be a need to see loss and death in terms of the power it provides us to regenerate, and many will come to a deeper understanding of the permanent spiritual factors in their existence, as well as a deeper courage that will never desert them.
This period when the Scorpio zone of the Grand Irrationality has been and continues to be triggered, shows that everyone will go through important releases of energy, people, and elements that would prevent them from being the spiritual potential they hold in the depths of their Being. This is a threshold, and some people cannot go through it with us, nor can we cross their threshold with them. So let go, let God, and show your stuff with focus and compassion. The experiment nears completion!
Spirit walks with this configuration, as well as any major septile series aspect between the planets. The choices we make as a result of these non-rational aspects show us our “direction of destiny,” and determines if the Spirit will grow stronger and closer with you, or if you will move in directions away from Spirit. Given that most of this community is intentionally trying to live in harmony with Life, Nature, and each other, chances are that whatever you – yes, YOU the reader – are confronting will show you a deeper, richer, more powerful Spiritual life. Which is a good thing.
So Just What Was the New Moon Theme for this Period?
Remember that the qualities of the Full Moon express whatever new directions we were shown at the previous New Moon. You will recall that its theme is related to new ways of “capitalizing on opportunity,” with a lot being blown apart via the intense T-square. This period puts us between old and new perspectives, and there may be a sense of chaos as we yield to our feelings and learn how to “create beauty from wilderness.” And of course, the Grand Irrationality is center stage in all our lives, as well as the world at large!!
This New Moon in Capricorn is earthy, intense, efficient, initiating, and self-transcending. Decisions will be made that affect our destiny, and the world at large will seem to be spinning off its axis! Many cross currents will be evident, showing us how to do our own thing in our own way based in a higher order we will glimpse and have to find a way to ground. Tear yourself away from “the known and familiar,” and those with courage could very well find new territory opening for them.
We continue to understand how we’re dealing with our Cancer issues put into play last Summer, since much related to those sign energies and issues come to the surface when the Sun is in Capricorn. Basically, are you caring for yourself and whatever life you embraced back then? Does it align with your purpose and ability to serve your world a better way than in the past?
The Capricorn seed indicated by this New Moon can help us have a sense of responsibility or a challenge to accept personal power related to the very heavy, deep feelings we’ve all been navigating thanks to the recent transits in Scorpio, including the very powerful Solar Eclipse set into motion a couple of months ago. We’ve already begun to focus our magnetism on what we want and what we don’t.
Due to the continued importance of both Saturn and North Node in Scorpio, we continue to “shed skins” in a process that we began at last year’s Solar Eclipse in Scorpio. The recent one reinforced this Scorpio focus, helping us let go of echoes of memories of perceptions by taking a new look at what we used to believe. This was another “gain through loss” Eclipse, so have faith, go deeper, and still your mind so you can receive impressions from higher planes.
The Scorpio focus for the past 1+ year is helping us intensify our striving in structured ways so we can unveil a mystery we’ve been chasing for quite a while. This helps us get a broader view of the potential of last Spring’s new initiatives. It’s also helping us see a) how we have shifted our magnetism on relationships since then, and/or b) how we need to find a new view or way of understanding the losses and eliminations of the past we’ve been through. Now we’re flowing into a long wave period of finding the right focus to bring forth a higher way to be with other.
In past Full Moon articles I included a page or more lifted from the articles on the previous New Moon. Since I am trying to shorten the articles for readability, I will no longer lift whole sections from those articles. Instead, please go back to part 1 of this Full Moon series where you will find links to those New Moon articles. They will help you understand the themes for this Full Moon period.
Jones Patterns and Element Balance
The planets in this chart modify the ongoing Splay Jones pattern, making it into a modified See Saw/Bucket. The Moon and Jupiter show the axis of oppositions defining the See Saw, but since the “handle” of the Bucket involves the sign Cancer, we can expect to need positive Cancer energies to “get a handle” on what’s happening these next two weeks.
This See Saw Jones pattern is defined by the Libra, Scorpio, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, and Aries energies on one side opposing the Moon and Jupiter in Cancer. Where a SeeSaw pattern is present, stay focused and balanced at the center while taking note of the periphery of things, and don't get off on a tangent or limb. This offers a need to be able to see both sides of any given thing, especially where there are opposing trends or views. The strength is in an ability to triangulate to angles of approach beyond the polarity that allows for progress and understanding.
With 4 planets in Water, 2 in Air, 3 in Earth, and 1 in Fire we have an emphasis on feelings and practicality, with some interactivity and very little inspiration. Since Air and Earth are “cool” elements and Fire and Water are “hot” elements, there will be a balance regarding these qualities, even as the Water and Earth elements come to the forefront of this period.
As I reminded you in the New Moon article, keep in mind that Earth plus Water equals either mud or bricks, depending on how you work with the material. So while some will find a sensitivity as they organize things so they further an “enlightened self-interest,” others will find themselves “stuck in the mud” of defensive calculations. As this Lunation has only 1 planet in Fire, it’s not particularly inspired, so we continue to find this within ourselves through the next month. At least the associative force will be with us via the Air influence stimulated for the 7 ½ months that Mars is in Libra.
More on how Uranus Square Pluto Is Ramping Up Radical Energies!
As I’ve mentioned off and on over the past 3+ years, we’re all learning to manage the “out of control” energies of Uranus square Pluto. I’ve discussed this aspect at length over quite a few articles in the archives. Use the site google box to find out more about this years’ long disruptive revolutionary influence. Welcome to the 21st century of upheaval, transformation, and titanic collisions between a new world being born and an old age that’s digging in even as it’s dying.
That square represents the ongoing revolution of our times, with innovations and pioneering energies in conflict with restrictive and controlling power structures. We’ll be dealing with this for a few years, and it promises to make this year and next very “electric and eclectic,” moving the world through a revolution unlike any seen since the 1960s!!
Uranus is still on its stationary direct degree showing us how to learn techniques of concentration so we can see the whole picture to things. This will help us honor our inner guidance, and know how to “take advantage of all the factors” in any given situation so that we have more assurance in knowing how to make the correct decision in circumstances. This finishes the immediate focus on these themes as we continue to synthesize these skills while moving into new realms of self-expression.
As usual, beware of those who are impatient, since explosiveness is in the air due to this square being triggered by Venus. Again, the T-square with Mars as the driver throws the void into mid-Aries, showing we need courage and heart strength as we move into pioneering realms of self-sufficiency. Keep synthesizing a view of a bigger picture of your unique part to play since this cuts us loose into new ways of expressing individuality.
As I noted in past Lunation articles, we’re now moving into a different social orientation for many years, so continue to learn how to concentrate to see the whole picture, as this shows us how to externalize our higher Self in new individual ways. It was the major theme for 2013, and given the aspects in play in this chart, we are now moving forward productively to stabilize the next chapter in our evolving emotional intelligence.
Pluto has now finished its time teaching us harmlessness, kindness, and magnetism that brings forth a more gentle set of interactions through the deeper transformations going on in our lives. This Lunation shows us another way of embracing the feeling and experience of that emergent transformational role we accepted 2009-2010. Keep purifying yourself in every way, since the less sludge we carry forward the lighter and freer we’ll feel.
We have now been guided through deep experiences that taught us how to get beyond fear, see things from the past differently, and find relief through expressing the Higher Self that’s been “cut and polished” in past months. We can grow into a greater power when we’re confronted by old Pluto roles, coercions, and heavy-handed corrosive behavior. We can use the square between Uranus and Pluto in two big ways, both now and into the future.
We can exercise good Pluto function to put the brakes on negative Uranian manifestations, and good Uranus function to put the brakes on negative Pluto manifestations. Look to the harmonizing aspects to each to show which is building and which one is the release point for those energies. In this chart, Uranus is specializing many things in everyone’s lives, so go with the new rather than the established.
What's the proper sequence at present of deciding, feeling, and thinking, and an Overview of the Lunation
This Full Moon is initiating and structuring, and marks a point of reorientation in how we “materialize the spiritual” in our lives in ways we can feel and enjoy that permits us a regeneration. We can continue to find a deeper faith in our individual Self and process as we release elements of our lives that no longer suit our magnetic needs. As a process of moving through events, get clear about what you feel and why you feel it, and then decide what has to be done, and then go do it! After the decision and/or action, then get a new vision, a new understanding, or a new way of seeing things.
So follow your feelings into that which quickens or accelerates your ability to rise to the occasion or challenge within a greater group effectiveness, and then make a decision or do an action in alignment with that feeling or experience. After feeling your way into that decision or action, then allow a new understanding, communication, or knowledge that will lead to the next experience. In any case, do not cling to old or obsolete interpretations, understanding, or vision. Update your perceptual files, or your understanding.
So this is a Lunation indicating that we’ll lead with our feelings, hunches, or experience, which will result in a decision and/or action. Then we need to move into a new understanding or vision, which will in turn lead to a new depth feeling or experience followed by new decisions and actions that should yield a new understanding.
This continues to help us eliminate all we no longer want to carry in our emotional field while helping us find a clear understanding of why we’ve been learning to have courage, and how to express it, over these past two weeks. With Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune in the three Water signs, we are in a time of an incredible amount of feeling energy, and continue to have opportunities to practice the emotional intelligence and “feeling-knowing” that has emerged over the past 14 months. Even if this period puts us under pressure to make critical decisions, the flow will lead us exactly where we need to be.
While it may feel like there’s a hard edge to circumstances over the next two weeks, these choices have been months in the making. This period will give many unique gifts to some, and unique circumstances perfect for our gifts for others. This one helps us follow through on what we truly care about, and helps us ground something spiritual in our lives.
This one helps us see patterns before they are made manifest, giving us a bigger synthesized picture in ways that are personally meaningful to us. Take a look at how to achieve a more fluid balance in your expression, allow yourself to assume greater responsibilities that prepare you for what’s coming, and don’t get confused by the “psychic traffic jams” in collective consciousness.
As I’ve noted in previous Full Moon articles, since all shadows result from light hitting a dense object, it’s better to become as translucid as possible to dispel lurking shadows. And if you must look at the shadows, then refocus on the object being illuminated, since that’s the source of the shadow.
Find the correct 4 angles of illuminating whatever you want to focus on, and all shadows will be dispelled. Then you’re seeing things with an illuminated mind, and can act accordingly.
