It’s happening on Saturday around the world! Time to let the world know one more time that this corporate death-spraying abomination cannot continue to poison our food, water, and pollinators!
While I gave you this last week, I figured it warranted another post since this global event is happening in the next few hours! Please check out this link on March Against Monsanto.com to find out what’s going on around the world and hopefully, where you are.
There's also quite a buzz on facebook, and it seems that fb links are included in the links on that site. I'm sure if you poke around you'll find something. The above link is extremely comprehensive in listing all the places something's happening in this global event.
If for some reason you don’t know just how villainous Monsanto is, I lifted something from someone spreading the word on FB. It is a quick, fairly accurate, and comprehensive view (which I've slightly edited for readability):
Monsanto has been responsible for Agent Orange (that so many Viet Nam War vets still suffer from), both Asparatame and High Fructose Corn Syrup (toxic chemical sweeteners that have significantly contributed to obesity, heart disease, and neurological disorders), and Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO - splicing fish genes into tomato DNA, for example, creating something that looks like food, but it doesn't provide the nutrition of the Heirloom varieties of produce).
They are also responsible for “Terminator Technology” (creating 'sterile' seeds that produce plants that are unable to create new seeds, forcing farmers to continue buying new seed from Monsanto every year, instead of saving seed from one year to plant the next, like God made plants to do - google 'suicide rates of farmers in India' to see what could be coming to America if they are not stopped), and Round-up weed killer, which has decimated the number of Bee pollinators to a dangerous level in the last few years. They are also behind the fight to keep us consumers from knowing if we are eating real food or not, by fighting the GMO labeling, since they know informed consumers would avoid these products like the plague if they knew how pervasive this 'Franken-food experiment' on human health really is.
Also, google "Superfund Sites," and you will find numerous lawsuits against Monsanto by former employees, and people who lived around Monsanto's factories, that have suffered incredibly high cancer rates because of exposure to the toxic wastes Monsanto has dumped into the environment, killing ecosystems that are now totally barren of fish and wildlife. They have been buying anonymity from their crimes against humanity for many decades, but when the Bees are gone, Einstein says humanity has as few as 5 years survival left before there is no more food!
There was NO media coverage for the March against Monsanto last year, except CNN, who only mentioned it after the fact, and noted that there had been protest gatherings all around the world. The rest of the media was totally silent about it, which is why people need to educate themselves, and spread the word to others who care about whether their kids and grandkids will still have food to eat 10 years from now.
Most other countries have already banned GMOs, Round-up, and many other of Monsanto's products as too dangerous to public health, but we have been kept in the dark, and Monsanto pays billions of dollars each year to keep us there. I have no kids, so I guess you could say I have 'no skin in the game' except that I care deeply about the future of humanity as a whole.
I also have an app in my smart phone called Buycott.com that I use when grocery shopping to see if which foods are GMO, or are fighting labeling of GMOs, so I can avoid supporting companies that put profit over human life. One more way to but my convictions into practice!
So if you care about our food supply, or your health, or the health of your children, your grandchildren, or your other loved ones, become informed, become active, and be willing to do whatever you need to in order to ensure a better future for your loved ones. No one should be messing with our seeds or food supply in any way that jeopardizes any of us.
