It’s International Astrology Day! It's also a day of celebration around the world for other reasons!
It is, of course, the Vernal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, and the Autumnal Equinox in the Southern. Thanks to Wikipedia, we also find it's the Iranian new year (Norouz), celebrated throughout the Middle East and Central Asia. It's also the beginning of the Bahá'í calendar, Ostara, and Chunfen in Asia. And of course it would be "Vernal Equinox Day," which we are told is a public holiday in Japan.
So we now pass out of the dream time of the Sun at 30 Pisces, and power up a new season which puts the focus directly on Aries. With the Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn as significant players in the Equinox chart, we’re moving into a season of an outer promise and inner understanding that will bring concentrated doses of spiritual energy, as well as unique gifts and insights that will revolutionize our lives, leading to rebirth and renewal.
See how to combine functionality with pleasing form, and focus your will courageously to heal into your Higher Self. This season launches many things we’ve been reflecting on for a while, and concentration of the “whole picture” will lead us to appreciation for what we’ve left behind, whether recently or in the distant past. This is a season of openings and new beginnings and initiatives, and with Mars, worldly ruler of the Equinox in Taurus, take a steady and deliberate pace as you learn to enjoy yourself while anticipating what is yet to come.
Still, as you’re acting with intention, remember that Venus is retrograde in Aries and Mercury is slowing down and will go retrograde in the near future, so allow the relatively slow pace to teach you to reflect on what has been to find a new value in what you’ve left behind. There are parts of the past still to be buried in April, so figure out which “bombs” need to be de-fused and don’t be in too much of a hurry over the next 40 days. Certainly the early part of this season will be an entirely different pace than the second half of this season.
See what has ended and what’s beginning. Make your decisions, and act with intention and focus. Then feel your way into a new vision or understanding. Looking back on old relationships will give an entirely new understanding about their value in cutting us loose from those old attractions and vanities.
While this is sure to be a highly decisive and active season, after you’ve touched your feelings (some of which have been buried and you may not have known they were even there!), stop “doing” and get new information, a new vision, or a new understanding before your next period of acting. Decide, feel, then get a new vision or a new understanding in this season of renewal and focused concentration.
The coming 13 weeks will help us get to the source of a lot of old hurts and misunderstandings, and concentrating on a different angle of understanding will show us how they prepared us for new life roles to play, even if we didn’t understand at the time. A life chapter has ended for us all, and now there’s nothing to do but look back to see how it prepared us for the concentrated doses of spiritual energy we’re mastering at this time.
We can let go of a lot of repressed material as a result of what we’re understanding now. As you ride the new set of waves into a new life era, remember old friends, allies, and loved ones, take a new look at what you value and appreciate now, and concentrate on the types of friends and allies you’d like to have with whom you could share an enjoyable ride in the new era. To quote our old friend the I Ching, “pleasure shared is pleasure doubled.”
