Mars conjuncted Jupiter on January 6 at 18 Scorpio. These conjunctions occur about every two years, and initiate a new set of truths, opportunities, and openings wherever they fall in our chart.
As I told you in part 1, the last Mars conjunct Jupiter began in October 2015 at 15 Virgo. Since then, we’ve been in a time when we “refined our cultural excellence,” and have experienced many expansions, truths, and protections in the house where 15 Virgo would fall in our charts. The one before that happened in July 2013 at 6 Cancer, initiating a period of stabilizing our emotional intelligence, since it was part of a Grand Water Trine with Saturn and Neptune.
These activated the house where they happened, and set up major themes during each two year period in all of us. We now begin a new cycle of these important planetary energies. The house where these conjunctions happen shows us where new adventures, truths, and wider vistas open up for the two years after the conjunction.
Think back on the house affairs activated by the one at 15 Virgo and reflect on what has opened for you since the Autumn of 2015 and now in the house where you have 15 Virgo. Use the same principle to the house affairs activated by the one at 6 Cancer, and see what opened up in the house where you have that degree between July 2013 and October 2015.
The theme of 2013-2015 helped our past give way to our future, where we understood a more fluid way to move through life experience, referencing our knowing born of “feeling” rather than strictly referencing our left brain analytical mind. Many became richer in their experience of life during that time, and learned what they did and didn’t care for.
The past two years has been a time when we “refined our cultural excellence,” seen how the material world and spiritual world are related to each other, learned to show restraint in “aristocratic” ways, and quickened ourselves, embracing “a reality higher or finer” than what we knew before. We have been reminded of what we care about through the objects we value, and refined our “personal manner” and achieved what we needed to through “an exceptional charm.”
Now we have initiated a new Mars-Jupiter cycle at 18 Scorpio, promising us all new initiatives and duties in the house where it occurs. This one will show us how we’ve transfigured our lives these past two years, and now can see we’ve done something well that will lead us to new transfigurations during these next two years.
In general, Mars conjunct Jupiter fuses the influence related to houses and planets ruled by Aries, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces. This fusion is focused through the house where we have 18 Scorpio.
This begins a time of major renewal and rebeginning for those born in late October through mid-November. The coming cycle will bring together areas involving self-image, self-awareness, money, values, creativity, children, work, and health, focused in deeply personal ways.
It is a point of critical emergence for those born in late July through mid-August, and brings together areas involving home, family, early life experiences, children, creativity, regeneration, legacy, higher truths, higher education, and wider futures. These will be focused through home and family experiences.
For those born in late April through mid-May, this will be a time when partnerships and equality in relationships will be the focus. These will bring together areas involving interactions, motives, closure on old life cycles, goals, ambitions, friendships, and like the previous group, regeneration and legacies, focused in the realm of interactions.
Those born in late January through mid-February will have the emphasis completely in their public sector, with new professional opportunities arising out of the ashes of the old cycle. This will bring together areas involving perceptions, close relationships, communications, values, resources, and like the previous group, goals, ambitions, and friendships, all playing out in the public eye.
Those born in the first half of March, July, and November will find many harmonious, productive, and stabilizing activities over the next two years in the area this conjunction falls in the chart. There will be major adjustments and expansions through sacrifices for those born in early April and early June, and some unique gifts and circumstances for those born late August and late January.
Of course, if you’re not born during the times of the months I just mentioned, you also are highly affected, but in different ways than what I’ve just outlined. Entire generations with outer planets in certain parts of certain signs are also profoundly affected, but to go into all possibilities would be cumbersome here.
For a brief example of generations affected by this, people born 1954-55, 1961-1970, 1977-1980, 1984-85, and 1989-1993 will all have their lives change in major ways, as these all have mid-to-late Scorpio prominent in their charts. Others who will be impacted are those born around late 1949 through late 1951, who have their Pluto squared by this conjunction. People born in the mid-60s have their Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto directly affected by this via the conjunction to their Neptune and sextile Uranus and Pluto. Those born in the mid-to-late 1980s have their Saturn and/or Pluto conjuncted by this Mars and Jupiter dance (and these are just a few!)
So check out the house it falls in and the aspects it makes to all your planets, since even those without 18 Scorpio active can be profoundly affected. For example, in my chart the conjunction falls biquintile my Sun, square my Moon, quadranovile my Mercury, opposed my Venus, triseptile my Mars, trine my Jupiter, septile my Saturn, and square my Pluto. These indicate which parts of my life will be affected, and how.
It’s safe to say that everyone on Earth will be affected in important ways via the house in which it falls and the houses Mars and Jupiter rule in your charts. And it seems that we’ll all wind up transfigured by seeing what we’ve done well, and what is now consummated in our lives.
