A Blogger Anniversary and Astrology Blog Milestone

I realized yesterday was the third anniversary of when I started the original Aquarius Papers - Astrology for All at Salon.com. Since then more has happened than I could have believed. I resisted the concept of "blog" at first, but came to see that it is one of the most effective communication tools we have on Earth, enabling people from all continents and walks of life to commune with others who share their interests. So today I'll offer you the first post I ever made as a blogger on April 28, 2004.

Virginia Tech Is the United States - Let's Tax the Bullets!

Today's article isn't astrological, but important nontheless. In the midst of the turmoil created by a lone whackjob, I have again revisited something I've maintained for a long while. There are too many guns, and while the NRA insists that "guns don't kill people, people kill people," in the final analysis bullets kill people. In fact, bullets kill or seriously injure almost any living thing they hit; and yes, if you shoot a tree or a cactus often enough it will die, just like people and animals.

Darfur and Honeybees – A Global Meditation Update

The April 2007 New Moon in Aries

The New Moon is the conjunction of the Moon and Sun, and sets the pattern for what will come during the next four weeks. This New Moon falls on April 17, 4:36 am PDT, at 28 Aries, a degree of shedding new light on old ideas, views, and opinions, and busting illusions. We will all be held accountable for something in the house this lunation falls in. It is an extraordinarily well-aspected New Moon, and with Mars the ruler of the lights at 9 Pisces conjunct North Node and Uranus, expect Compassion to be a major theme, with a quickening that will spur us toward speedy attainment of some social goal.

We’ve all dealt with Saturn in Leo since Summer 2005. I discussed the possible effects in two articles linked below the fold. The coming 5 months will be very different than the period when Saturn was in early Leo, as now it prepares to leave the 2nd decan of Leo, ruled by Jupiter, and re-enter the 3rd decan of Leo, ruled by Mars in both the ancient and modern systems of decan interpretation. This activates many things, and with the trine to Pluto getting stronger the Grand Trines from Mars in Aries this June should light things up substantially for the better wherever they fall in the lives of nations and individuals.

A Great Birthday

Thanks to everyone who checked in yesterday. The outpouring from people all over the world was generous in every way and made the day truly memorable. I appreciate every good wish, every good intention, every good affirmation, and every donation. To answer one question, the pizza was indeed great, as were the libations, the company, and the unbelievable number of phone calls from friends all over the world, some of whom I haven't heard from in a long time. When pizza dough turns out like it should, it creates something miraculous when combined with the right sauce and ingredients.
