This Partial Solar Eclipse falls at 19 Virgo, showing we're all about to be educated on a practical level, learning through forms of "right actions" the value of various techniques of COOPERATION. Since this Solar Eclipse falls conjunct the South Node and in the same sign as Saturn, expect "liberating ordeals" to show you ways to "hear the call" and launch distant or visionary projects you need to in the future. That Mercury in Libra rules the Solar Eclipse is a very good thing, since ultimately our changes will bring us relief from old tensions.
Mercury at 10 Libra has excellent aspects with the other planets. It is septile Venus, sextile Jupiter, quintile Pluto, binovile Saturn, trine Chiron, triseptile Uranus, and tredecile Mars. Though some of the orbs are wide, as a whole the favorable position with other planets in Fire and Air is very harmonizing and strengthening, especially since Mercury in Venus' sign is given strength by Venus in Leo, a very favorable sign for Venus.
All in all, though all Eclipses take things away, this one should be harmonizing and balancing, allowing us to practice Venusian forms of the Leo qualities we've incorporated thanks to Saturn toughening us all up during its stay in that sign. Our mature, organized, experienced heart can now come forth in pleasing forms that will incorporate values, money, relationships, and things that are likable to us.
This New Moon falls along a Virgo-Pisces axis that has been stimulated by past eclipses, so continues to contribute to whatever endings and beginnings were promised by those specifically. The Eclipses this time last year freed us all from "a narrow destiny," and we got to enter a new world and work we had prepared for during 2005-2006.
The Virgo degree of the September 11 Solar Eclipse is in the span of "Experimentation," and the scene of "Education." The symbol, "A Swimming Race," offers that through endings and changes we will find "social sustainment" for our accomplishments, encouragement, and can see forms of friendly competition as means to develop group consciousness. Allow cooperation and synergy to be the rules of the engagement, and be impatrial as you examine the dance from a larger angle of understanding.
This Eclipse will help us perfect energies and skills we've individually developed, and learned how to manage the various factors of our lives despite the divergences and instabilities. See the skills you're challenged to use in the future to prove your excellence while eliminating all that distracts from whatever one-pointed works you're called to do.
This Solar Eclipse is very differently accented than the Lunar Eclipse of late August, since Saturn is in Leo in the Lunar Eclipse but in Virgo at the Solar. Also of note is that Saturn's degree in this Solar Eclipse is the same degree as the one it will occupy in April-May 2008 when it goes stationary direct. 2 Virgo is a degree that liberates us in some dramatic ways so compassion and understanding can come forth.
The Saturn lessons and skills to be embraced resulting from the Solar Eclipse will involve struggle that will bring forth recognition and greater self assurance, and self realizations will result in finding control over your environment. The "Large White Cross Upraised" has obvious symbolic connotations which you can extrapolate for yourself, but please remember the spiritual phrase of antiquity, "No Cross, No Crown." Unless the ego and its dysfunctions is crucified upon the Cross of Truth, Love, and Knowledge, we can never grow into our Higher Self as vehicle of Soul and Spirit.
Dr. Marc Edmund Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of "conscious stewardship" by which we demonstrate our deeper values and allegiances. We can find and demonstrate moral courage and our form of "moral fearlessness" in order to achieve something higher and greater as part of what I have termed "the corrective force of Nature Herself." However you can, hear the call and volunteer for a form of service to others, gladly and selflessly.
From the NASA site:
Partial Solar Eclipse of September 11
The last eclipse of 2007 is a partial solar eclipse at the Moon's descending node in southern Leo. Its visibility is confined to parts of South America, Antarctica, and the South Atlantic. Greatest eclipse takes place at 12:31:21 UT when the eclipse magnitude will reach 0.7505. The penumbral contact times with Earth are as follows:
Partial Eclipse Begins: 10:25:46 UT
Partial Eclipse Ends: 14:36:33 UT
This event is the sixth partial eclipse of Saros series 154. After one more partial eclipse (25 September 2025) the series will produce the first of many annular eclipses beginning with 3 October 2043.
Here is a related NASA site with the Solar Eclipse figures from 2001-2010 detailing the type of Solar Eclipse, Magnitude, duration of the Eclipse, and where on Earth where it was or will be visible. Obviously, since this one lasts for 4 hours and 10 minutes, its influence will be of somewhat long duration.
As you know from this article on Solar Eclipses, the length of an Eclipse is said to show how long that eclipse is in effect. For Solar Eclipses, the number of hours equals the number of years it's in effect, while for Lunar Eclipses it is said that the number of hours equals the number of months it's in effect.
Thus this Solar Eclipse will have an influence through late 2011, and the August 2007 Lunar Eclipse that lasted 5 1/2 hours will be with us for 5 1/2 months.
Previous Solar Eclipses:
2005 Oct 3 Annular 0.958 4m32s Europe, Africa, S. Asia [Annular: Portugal, Spain, Libya, Sudan, Kenya]
2006 Mar 29 Total 1.052 4m07s Africa, Europe, W. Asia [Total: C. Africa, Turkey, Russia]
2006 Sep 22 Annular 0.935 7m09s S. America, W. Africa, Antarctica [Annular: Guyana, Surinam, F. Guiana, S. Atlantic]

So, Robert am I understanding correctly that the solar and lunar eclipses serve to demonstrate areas where change will occur? Also Does the intensity of the eclipse indicate a magnitude or intensity of coming challenges? for instance: hurricanes, snowstorms, political faux pax, earthquakes, Windstorms political and environmental. My life is still changing and whirlwind just about describes it on a mundane level. My new skills are trying to learn how to figure out a harness for my labador who won't sit still for measuring. She is Gemini and I think pure Gemini and there is no humane way to control her behavior except through strong leashes. She loves me and no one else. Harnessing her has been awful. I can't figure the darn thing out it looks right until I put it on her then she tries stepping aside and then poof the thing is laying on the floor and she is dog grinning at me like she thought it was a trick she has learned. I can't help feeling that I am being told something more profound such as: I don't know how to harness energy correctly.

So, are we talking at a personal level on THINGS THAT WILL INEVITABLY OCCUR to change fates, leaving apart people like us who are conscious of the Eclipse effects and can take profit on this?.
Are we talking about NO MOVE IS NEEDED, YOU WILL MEET SOON YOUR FATE?.
Or does the Grand Cross say us IT'S TIME TO START MOVING AND SEARCHING?.
By that I mean the Grand Cross leaves now only drastic decisions to be made when one point is touched -as in my 10th house Mars where the Eclipse falls very near being Mars the ruler of my 6th Aries and Ascendant Scorpio. I wait after the Eclipse, but my question is this...drastic endings now, waiting for fated events to come, move, wait...?.

Hi, Robert. I was looking at my chart and it seems that this particular partial eclipse will just pass my three planets in the second house in virgo, respectively, mars, uranus and pluto, it seems pluto is the last planet, also there will be some conjunctions to those planets....at first glance this kind of scared me because I thought it might have to do with money, and right now my current company is late in their payment for a second time in a row, I am not worried because I trust the people I work for but at the same it does not make me want to stay, perhaps this is time to really look for something new again.
What do you think?
Posted by: Micheline Cloutier | August 31, 2007 at 07:54 AM
Hi Mary - Yes, eclipses show areas of endings creating space for new activities and realizations. Don't really know about magnitude affecting things, as no research has ever been done there. But it certainly seems reasonable to assume magnitude of anything might have a measurable correlation. Ms. Geminidawg is teaching you a whole new approach to compassion, since they must learn boundaries and discipline so they don't jump the fence and eat the neighbor's blanket. Perhaps you just need to see where you're missing the step that will result in the harness staying where it should?
Hi Henry - Things happen with inevitability due to our cause and effect process. We choose how to respond to such changes. Move or don't move as you know you should or should not. The Grand Cross will show us what is breaking apart in our lives and world, and how to become good jugglers of that which we must, or need to preserve for the future. We make our "fate" as we make our character choices, since "character is destiny." Learn to think in the future, prepare to steer your ship away from the rocks as you anticipate which fork in the river to take based in your best knowledge of which one is safer, and wait for the right time to act. Timing is precise here, and comment streams (even this one) are not great places for making life-altering decisions.
Hi Micheline - Of greater import is Saturn's transit of your Virgo planets. It will probably end some old financial issues and ways of valuing things while opening you to your genius and other ways of fulfilling your Virgo 2ns house tendencies. It may be less about trust than anticipating the future and how to adjust toward something more perfect in the future than the inertias of the past. This may be the seeds of something, or the hints of what is passing as we speak.

Hello Robert,
Many thanks for your enlightening site & information. I'm curious about this eclipse series as well as the upcoming move of Saturn into Virgo. Significant changes & letting go of things, people, etc., in my life the last few years, and I'm hoping to hit my stride soon...I have Sun & Moon both in late Pisces, as well as Virgo rising (BD: 3/17/69, 5:40pm p.s.t, Los Angeles, CA)...Any brief insight is appreciated.
Blessings.

Hi Robert.
Looks like the solar eciplse will sextile my ascendant (at 19 scorpio) and Mercury will be right on my sun at 11 Libra. Then theres all that saturn/uranus stuff at 28 virgo, right on my midheaven, with impending saturn on pluto then venus later this year.Im waiting on work and things are relativly calm.
I know what needs to be done, I just wish for a clue as to how to navigate whirlwind.
and can I,am I capable, to shed change twist manipulate and otherwise pull into form a more whole life? Or do over riding pirate genes win out?
I am,Oct 4 1961 livonia MI 9:47 am (rectified by you) all those planets 12th house scorpio! egads!
MARY- try a Halti on your labrador. It is a head harness and will work to control pulling on any size dog. They cannot pull with their heads, same principal as a bridle on a horse. It works!!
Robert,gracias.
peace on your journeys betwixt and between ports.

"No Cross, No Crown."
this phrase is one i've never heard of, if there is no cross to bear there is no crown to behold.
i guess one has to recognize and work through the cross to bear in order to find the crown to wear.
king of the hill
building a bridge to get to the other side
the path to a goal and the obstacles in the way of it.. the work produced to get the grand result. the equation of life.

Hi Tony - You're in a time of preparation. This year is one of radical change, where you must plug your energies into gear to fulfill the vision of last year. Find your greater purpose (especially in Nov-Dec) and get ready for unbelievable gifts, unique talents, and other such specialized things to manifest beginning Feb 2008. Big turning points in late September and mid-January through mid-February 2008 will show you what your next work assignment is.
Hi Henry - sure. We're all in this together. Maybe, just maybe, if we pool our knowledge and skills, we just might be able to...
Hi el BB Beaudacious - Should have responded, but was overwhelmed with computer crash all week and other things. Glad you checked into our humble community. ;-) You know of course that you could become famous and responsible the next couple of years, which no doubt is chafing to the bovine expert I once knew. "Ignorance of your culture is not cool." For a Libra, calm is better than "not calm," so bravissimo. Pirate genes are good when it's time to hit the bricks, not so good when we must deal with the Chancellour of the Exchequer. Back home by next Wed, we can set up a session then. Aum Namah Shivaya!
Hi robyn - Well, wouldn't want to become so addictive that the psychologists would build an industry about being non-co-dependent on my humble posts. ;-) Glad you and so many others have found their way here. The phrase is ancient, and indicative of certain "sacrifices" we go through in process of getting a grip on our personalities. Obviously the Cross as symbol far precedes Churchianity. Ultimately it symbolizes our human ability to "nail" the axis of Spirit to the axis of Matter, producing Spiritual-Material Manifestations, like St. Issa, which is why His legend became so big time. In accepting the work, our separated self is challenged to mount the cross of integration, yielding the 3-fold Higher Self. The equation of life indeed!

Hi Robert, Kia Ora from New Zealand! I love your site - a bit beyond me at times, yet the heart speaks (and understands) volumes! Just looking to you for a bit of direction, if that's appropriate. The series of eclipses since 05 seem to have had quite an impact on my life (along with so many others! We really are all in it together, aren't we??!) and I'm just wondering if I should be on the alert for any more 'liberating ordeals'! I had an 'autumn leaf' baby on 7th May 05, separated from my husband on 9/12/05 and returned to work late Jan 06. Next I 'inherited' half of my husband's company's 6 figure tax debt, which is in the process of being sorted. Now I'm wondering if I should buy my ex out of the family home, sell, rent, purchase elsewhere?? I thought perhaps my chart may indicate something one way or the other. I'm trying to maintain equilibrium as a full time teacher with 3 children - 2 teens and one 2 yr old!:D I am loathe to move and disrupt them repeatedly, so thought you may be able to shed some light on this for me? The Grand Irrationality (and a few eclipses??)seems to be hitting Vir, Gem and Pis in my chart. Here are the numbers:
Sun Gem 4.48; Venus Gem 16.24; Mars Virg 15.34; Jupiter Gem 7.43; Saturn Pis 16.20; Uranus Virgo 10.43; Pluto Virgo 13.40; MC Pisc 11.28; NN Gem 13.51; Chir Pis 22.09. I have Cancer Asc at 14.41. As you can see, I'm a 'mutable' kindagal, but upheaval on the homefront does send my Cancer Asc into a bit of a spin! Thanks again for your site AND your insight!
Love, peace and blessings, Maggie :)

Kia Ora again Robert! Just thought you might need my birth info?? (or maybe I'm just being Irrational!). Anyway, it's 26th May 65, born in UK at 7.45am. (Yes, I am living 12,000 miles away from 'home').

Hi Maggie - Greetings from "the other" hemisphere. I hear your country's beautiful. I try to make the content both intelligible to all and still explain things to the amateur and professional astrologers who frequent this roadhouse. The "liberating ordeals" will persist as long as those eclipses lasted, and of course as we attain them we break through to unknown futures and potentials. Glad a tax bill you didn't create can be mitigated. I don't really have enough knowledge of many factors so I can't say what you should do with your home, (real land value vs perceived land value, tax ramifications, what you can afford, how the law works with joint property, etc) except to think in the future and see what course is best for your long term well being. Put that first and of course you children will benefit and be protected by your proactivity.
Your Mercury will be favored by Saturn in Virgo, which lower square your Sun and Jupiter shows the emergence of new liberating protective opportunities, but also the need for organization, realism, and attention to details in all written or verbal agreements. You wouldn't want things to become burdensome this time next year if you can prevent them now. As Saturn opposes your Saturn and squares your Venus you'll want to eliminate all that you no longer need and simplify your life. No doubt you'll be sensing it even within a few weeks.
The 2 year old won't care if you must move, especially if it helps you simplify in ways that makes you less stressed down the road. The oldest and 2nd are ruled by Mars and Saturn, so they're going to be going through their own grinds anyway. The oldest can come into the seeds of power and individuality if they rise to the discipline or rigor in front of them. The other must transcend an "either-or attitude" and be more compassionate, and hold the line by throwing off all discouraging thoughts. All of you will be doing better by January. Mahalo...
Hi Ian - Sure. You're quite welcome.

Dear Robert, thank you so much for your generous and detailed response. I feel particularly grateful and humbled to have received the benefits of your skills and wisdom after having read your article on posting. Please accept my most sincere thanks.
Arohanui, blessings always,

Hi Maggie - You're most welcome. I hope some of what I said can help you sort things through so that you come to the most satisfactory result short and long term. These are major issues, so of course it's okay, since if I can be of service to several truth seeking Souls at once, it's a win-win all around. Be imaginative and get a set of plans, and no doubt you'll do well.
Posted by: Robert | September 02, 2007 at 05:47 PM
hi Robert, thanks again for all the work and insight put into your essays.
I'm wondering how this eclipse will be for all of us with Pluto in Virgo?
On a personal level I have Pluto at 22 Virgo conjunct IC, Jupiter and South NOde... I've been trying to sever ties with an ex-lover (father of my new baby born may 8 this year) but the man just keeps bouncing back into my life, even though he sometimes claims to have no love for me (or the baby). In synasty his Pluto, Uranus, South Node and Moon are conjunct my own Virgo cluster and his Sun is at 10 Libra (degree of our composite Moon). I'm continually affirming that I release this situation, but I guess it is true that 'you get what you think about whether you want it or not'... could this eclipse be the cosmic assistance I need to move forward in my life and enjoy a new relationship? Pluto will still be in my seventh house for several years yet but I have had three very 'plutonic' relationships, including my marriage which began 12 years ago with Pluto at 0 sag and jupiter on my DC. Since I have been shown my 'shadow' side and my 'riches' and I feel ready to learn something new...

This eclipse will be conjunct my north node in my first house.
I am 8 degree Gemini, 22 degree merc in Gemini, Mars in Aries. Venus 1 degree Gemini.
7 degree Virgo rising.
I am open to anything you say. I sm feeling anxious
THanks

Hi Danae - It will help everyone with Pluto in Virgo to demonstrate what they've built in that function. SN can mean a need for silence, letting go, falling back on the line of least resistance. Forget people who claim whatever but don't put themselves on the line voluntarily and with good will. Figure out what your legal rights are and go from there. Do what you have to do, and your affirmations will show you reality pdq. Eclipses help us "let go, let god," and otherwise move into our future while saying goodbye to a past that is no longer viable. You'll move forward when you clean out the subconscious imagery that is counterproductive. The eclipse will no doubt open you to a better life, though there will be things to be done as you learn to flow with subtlety into an individualized future.
Hi Cindy D. - Of great import is that Saturn is about to "lower square" your Sun, showing new beginnings while letting go of the past. You'll be growing in relationships, establishing the basis for future successes, and specializing your understanding. You are a pioneer, a people pleaser, and have already begun to rewrite your address book. Though all of your relationships have been tested, the good ones are now deeper, and the ones you've outgrown are being left behind. Just relax, and be optimistic and compassionate as you move through the transition.

Hi Robert -- Is Love in the air for Aries?
Posted by: Larisa | September 05, 2007 at 04:17 AM
Hi Robert,
Was wondering what would be "in the air" for me, a Virgo (18 degrees) in reference to the partial solar eclipse on 9/11. Also, the south node is conjunct my sun. Could you speak a little bit about that?
I have had many challenges the past few years with Saturn transiting Leo (particularly when it was conjunct my 7th house Pluto - my mother got very ill and passed away, and a major partnership dissolved, both of these situations leaving me somewhat burdened and very exhausted). Was wondering if the south node conj. my sun would be a similar type of experience?
I'm also "trying to find the light" after many challenging circumstances that seemed to begin on 9/11/01 (when Pluto was square my sun and I believe Saturn was conjunct or not far from my moon in Gemini). It seems that Uranus opposite my sun this year will crack whatever is left of the old structures around me that no longer serve me so that I can finally see my way clear and start anew. Does a partial solar eclipse also signify new beginnings? And is it particularly significant in your opinion that this eclipse happens on 9/11? Any thoughts?
Posted by: Michele | September 05, 2007 at 02:00 PM
Hi Larisa - "Love is in the air" any time we take note of the Love that's always all around. However, make sure to cultivate the friendship, or it's just so much heat rather than light.
Hi Michele - First, my condolences on the transition of your mom and ending of your partnership. Just remember that times change, planets in our charts are people, and sometimes old relationships can no longer accurately mirror our hologram. Then they change or leave. Sun-SN conjunctions show it's easy to be the center of attention, and that you were probably in some position of authority or "rulership" in a past life where you couldn't use your power effectively or to achieve growth.
The eclipses are showing you how to demonstrate your Pisces growth through your Virgo while letting go of the old Solar function being shut down (partially) so a new light can develop. Uranus opposition Sun is great for bringing unique qualities of your Light to surface and attracting unique individuals who you could dance with as an equal, each on your own terms. All eclipses are endings, so of course they show new beginnings.
Yes, this partial eclipse falls on the Sun of the 9/11 chart, which hopefully doesn't mean the eclipsing of bringing the true "causes" of that manipulated event to light. Or God forbid, another manipulation mirroring that event to influence the coming elections and international economic power struggles already underway. We have many destabilizations happening and to come thanks to the recent Lunar Eclipse, which will have much more far-reaching influence than this coming Solar Eclipse. Welcome to the road to 2012 stretching into 2015.

Wondering how the solar eclipse will affect me with natal saturn (6' Virgo) and natal moon (29' Virgo) in 7th house? Robert, I am not talking in general, but nyes, friendship first would be nice. I was going to say that Saturn left Leo for the first time since July 2005? It was about that time when I left my husband, so it must be easier now, right? and in my lifetime it won't back, right?
Posted by: Larisa | September 06, 2007 at 03:13 PM
Hi guitarbud - Your Saturn will be shut down in certain ways, express your growth in others. Your Moon indicates you've already "escaped from a narrow destiny" since last Autumn. I suspect old Saturn problems will be shut down, though of course you being on the path of the artist are on the 4th Ray, "Harmony through Friction," which means you'll always be bringing harmony out of problematic circumstances. Neptune is favoring you, Saturn is finished jamming you, Jupiter is about to bless you, and Mars is about to teach you perspective and a radical new point of vie for you to implement come Feb 2008. Of course you're welcome. Maybe someday I can admire your craftmanship on the instruments.
Hi Larisa - It's not necessarily easier. It all depends on what you learned in the interim. Saturn leaving a sign has less to do with relationships than your own positioning.
Posted by: Robert | September 06, 2007 at 09:07 PM
Dear Robert
Would you be kind enough to let me know about mine too? The eclipse will sit within a degree or so right on top of my mercury retrograde in the 8th house (17 degrees) with pluto at 13 and uranus at 9. Opposing retrograde chiron (17) in pisces 2nd house, sextile MC (17 Scorp) and sextiling venus-mars conjunction in 7th house cancer 13&14 degrees. Sun 28 Leo. The big thing for me has been what will happen to a friendship where there is mutual love but my hope for more not requited. The emotional difficulty involved for me is putting my involvement in a long course (where we met) on the line. We both don't want to loose what we've got but proving difficult to achieve and having a rocky time around each other at the moment. Any insights most welcome. Many many thanks
Posted by: Ekajati | September 07, 2007 at 02:28 PM
Hi Ekajati - Sounds like you get to use your Mercury RX insights in entirely new ways to express your individuality. Perhaps you will find a new approach to magnetism and desire, letting go of obsolete ways of expressing these. Of greater importance is Saturn on your Virgo planets septile your Venus-Mars, putting you at a major set of forks in your relational road these next 10 months. If things are in dynamic motion, don't fight the truths that come up nor try to push the river. And of course, remember that it takes two to make a relationship, and a person can only give what they can.

What exactly are the implications for the 9/11/2007 Solar Eclipse for me: Natal 18 Leo Sun, 27 Aries AC, Mars 2 Virgo, Mercury 15 Virgo, and, most importantly, natal Venus at 19 Virgo? Your insights would be most appreciated. (If needed, birth info is August 10, 1957, 10:37 pm, Honolulu, HI). Thank you, Cynthia

hi Robert, appreciate the quality of your astrology :-), I am a cancer on the cusp of Leo...live in new Zealand
but born 11:23am Hinsdale Illinois 22 July 1965
Could you give me any insight as to the affect of the solar eclipse on my chart...and the stronger influences in my chart at present?
All the best Angela
Posted by: Angela Wybourne | September 09, 2007 at 07:58 PM
Hi Ekajati - Thanks for your kind words. Aum.
Hi Cynthia - A thousand things. Of greater import is the recent Lunar Eclipse which will shut down your old Mars function or refine its expression while fragmenting your mid-Mutable energies. This Solar eclipse will bring an end to old values and ways of relating to others, but you should pay attention to the Saturn transit for more valuable insights.
Hi Angela - Thanks for your appreciation. Saturn on your Virgo planets the next two years will restructure those Spiritual energies in you. December and January will bring sacrifices and adjustments that can help you emerge from your cocoon and become the butterfly. Use October through December to get some closure on old ghosts, and prepare for a new life to jumpstart sometime in April or May 2008.

The challenge, lesson and ultimately focus of the antipodal night is the realization that the universe is just as big inside of you as it is outside.

Blessings.

Hi Ben Ben - You've posted something for Tony, not me. I assume this is related to the Dreamspell Mayan calendar?

Hello Robert -
This set of eclipses has certainly turned my life upsidedown!! My fiance bailed out/moved out saying he no longer loves me and wants to be free, I am stuck with a large mortgage on a house we just bought and watched being built for months. Someone who knows him claims she has witnessed him giving rides to and hanging out with a 20 year old (he's 44).
I'm not sure if I should take legal action or just try to move on as uncomplicated as possible...
my b-day is September 12, 1965 9:06 am CDT Chicago IL
his is September 3, 1963 4:18 am CDT Chicago IL
I feel as though this is the weirdest time in my life, and that is saying a lot!!
All I know for certain is this solar eclipse is right on my sun in the 11th house...
Thank you for any insight you can give me...

Hello,
i've just read your article on the partial eclipse on sept. 11 and found it really clear and insightful-thank you
i am just beginning (3 mos)a powerful, loving relationship with
a virgo man (he-9/1/65 in Ireland-don't know his birth time)
i am aries womb-being born 4/11/64 in France at noon-
this last week -we don't seem to "carry" a lot of typical aries/virgo traits and have both done a lot of personal healing work. How will this saturn move challenge/support/etc. us? thanks so much

Hi Robert,
I don't fear this solar eclipse because at 19 Virgo,it is directly on my 12th house cusp and trines my Jupiter at 20 degrees Taurus in the 8th. It also makes two sextiles: Uranus at 16 degrees in Cancer in the 9th and Mars at 24 degrees Scorpio in the 2nd.
I see nothing but good coming out of this eclipse.
Again many thanks for your wisdom and pet His Majesty for me.
Peace,
Helen

Hi Heidi - This is probably one more aftereffect of last year's eclipses along with last Spring. What you do depends on whose names are on the loans for the house. If both, then you're both responsible. That means you need to cooperate as long as it takes to get his signature to sell. As far as I know, there's nothing illegal about hanging out with a 20 year old, but any 44 year old dating a 20 year old is probably not thinking clearly. I'd keep it uncomplicated, since his life is probably becoming unfocused and you need to keep yours focused and aimed in directions that assure your future well being.
Hi ck - He'll be maturing tremendously the next year, and reshaping his sense of purpose. You will be learning more confidence in your self expression. You both should be doing well and fairly stable in each of your lives in 2008, and VERY well in many life areas by 2009.

Hi,
This eclipse occurs directly on my north node which is sextile my asc (scorpio) and sun (cancer). I am waiting for a move into disabled housing and wonder if this could indicate one way or the other whether it will happen soon?
Posted by: Annie | September 11, 2007 at 06:08 AM
Hi Helen - Fortuitous endings and rewards clearing space for new motives and initiatives to develop. With the aspects, it should be good.
Hi Annie - It should stimulate a new growth pattern. Saturn and Venus rule your 4th house, so look to them for signs of moving.
Posted by: Robert | September 11, 2007 at 08:05 AM
Today's solar eclipse is conjunct my natal venus (which is at 19 degrees, 59 minutes Virgo) within around half a degree. Also, my natal Mars is conjunct my Venus, at 15 degrees, 46 minutes of Virgo.
Mars is in my 8th house, Venus straddles the line into my 9th house. How might this eclipse effect me?
Thank you.
Posted by: Danica | September 11, 2007 at 11:37 PM
Hi Danica - It will show as many things. Old relationships will end to be replaced by new ones. Old ways of being meticulous in your work should lead to new opportunities to be of even greater service. Old rules about how to express yourself will fall away. Old desires will end due to future openings in broader views. You're already being attracted to that which will liberate you in your relationships away from old worries and the need to adjust constantly to your partner. Your home will shift, your spontaneity, such as it is, will shift. Your public self will shift, and your goals and ambitions will shift. Try to decrease nerves and criticisms, and open to a vaster view in all these areas.
Posted by: Robert | September 12, 2007 at 05:26 AM
Thanks Robert! I'm not really the most nervous and critical of people - with Sag rising and an abundance of Libra, I am less of a worrywart than those two Virgo planets might indicate. I look forward to what the future brings! Thank you for your gracious response to my question.
Posted by: Danica | September 12, 2007 at 04:10 PM
Hi Danica - Glad you've transmuted the negative Virgo traits into positive ones. We all have to do that with all the signs and planets, so Aum and blessings. You would seem to be a world servant, here to live free while demonstrating some archetype to your world. Enjoy the pleasant and adventurous reality your Soul chose, and with Jupiter on your Asc, it's rock and roll time! Enjoy the journey.

Hi Robert,
My biggest reward is yet to come and I will share it with you when I have my private consulation.
Hint: It was something that I didn't choose to do; I had to do it.
Again thanks.

Hello Robert,
I love your generosity of spirit... I have read a few of the many charts that you have delineated & the common theme is your encouragement for people to be the best they can be..
You are a lovely light in this world.

Hi TrumansCat - Thanks. It's really the only productive point of view that keeps the power with the individual rather than scatter it where it doesn't belong. And I appreciate the acknowledgment, since I've earned this view through too many years of impossible circumstances that forced me to steer my boat in this direction or crash. And of course I do affirm our Spirit is paramount over outer circumstances, regardless of appearances.

Hey Robert,
I am loving your site and was very pleased to find it, as I feel I connect with you and your postings in ways I don't any other blog. Today is my birthday and so I was hoping you could help me out as I have been in a rut in my astrological explorations recently. The solar eclipse falls right on my Saturn, which is pretty significant because I "officially" started my first Saturn Return when the Lord of Karma entered Virgo a few weeks ago. I also have Capricorn Rising AND Saturn loosely conjunct my Sun. I have felt Saturn's constant presence throughout my whole life and the last seven or so years have been extremely trying, with setback after setback. I am blessed to have found a therapist/spiritual mentor recently and feel I have finally been letting go of so much stuff that just seemed stuck to me like flies to, well, you know the rest. All these recent astrological events (including the Mutable T-Square and Saturn trining Pluto going over my late Leo Moon-Jupiter conjunction) have really done a number on me, and it has brought me to this point, for which I am grateful.
But one of the things that attracted me to astrology was the promise of learning my personal timing (my birth chart and transits) as well as the gift of being aware of what the world brings and how to categorize it so I can make more conscious and conscientious decisions in my life. Part of being stuck now is that everything in my chart is so interwined that I have a hard time analyzing it (which a Virgo Sun-Cap Rising should excel at). And all these recent transits, as well as the ones coming up, also seem to be hitting a lot of major points, so that so much is going on I can't make heads or tails of it. The past year was pretty excruciating, and I am now once more positive and vibrant but also a little scared of all that's coming; I'm almost happy my Saturn Return is starting now that it's left my Moon and Jupiter alone (I'm an actor by the way, so it was pride and work wounding as well as emotionally trying). I guess I'm looking for the right perspective, a key so I can figure out how to look at the things in the most helpful way and I'll take the ball from there, I just can't seem to see the transits and their interaction with my chart clearly. I've already consulted with three professional astrologers as well as all the books, reports and websites I could find and those haven't told me any more than I already know, it hasn't reached a profound enough "aha!" level where I can manifest all this knowledge and inspiration in my life and material reality.
Birth info: September 18, 1979 14:05 Mexico City, Mexico.
I'll break it down for you: basically I've been stuck for a while and things kept getting worse. I left home at 19 to cut the umbilical cord with my parents but am still attached now. I have had cash flow problems for the last few years and this year especially have had a hard time finding acting work, my one true passion that I've always known is what I'm meant to do in life (I have a lot of interests but I've known since I was 4 that acting was my Life Path and Mission here). I've always felt this pressure to find something else to supplement acting, now more than ever as I need the work and cash to flow, but deep inside feel that as soon I devote all my energy and focus to acting and creative works is when I'll truly take off. I suffer from the common modern of information overload, and it leaves me kind of dazed and procrastinatory, a little frustrating when accessing my Saturn function was relatively easy in my youth. If this past year from hell taught me anything, it's to make Saturn my friend, especially now that it's in Virgo. I guess I'm asking you if you can point the way or recommend anything based on my birth info and recent, present, and future transits. I am over my years-long depression and feel vibrant, and am commited to taking control of my Saturn and helping it to shape my life. I'd like to know what themes and opportunities I should be on the lookout for so I can focus on them and tune out the cacophany of the unimportant stuff.
I post this on this article since the solar eclipse is right on top of my Natal Saturn and it's so prominent in my personal chart. The lunar eclipse is close to my nodal axis, but I can't seem to intuit as much from it. I feel everything has been changing lately and am anxious to leave the old behind and set off on the new, but with a feeling of immediacy, of making the changes today and taking what life throws at me and consciously using it to learn and go after the success I want and know I deserve, helping myself instead of the hindering that has been going on for the last 5 to 8 years. I've learned patience, now I've had enough it and am looking forward to action part; it's time to take advantage of the astrological energies instead of feeling like they control me. I am at a point where I feel I'm integrating my Animus and Anima, facing my Shadow, and this also parallels the Saturn-Neptune theme in my chart and in the transits. I love having my head in the clouds, but I want my feet firmly on the ground instead of swinging between the two. The transformations promised by the eclipses seem like a good way to start.
I'm sorry for the long post, it's just that I always feel the more information about such a general question the better. Thank you so much for any time or attention you could give me, as I perceive a certain clarity in your interpretations that I haven't found elsewhere. Take care and best of luck to you.

Hi Rod - Welcome to the cantina. Happy Birthday and Solar Return. SR conj Saturn shows this year will be a rigor that will train you in maturity, patience, organization, and align you with your Dharma. Oh yeah - welcome to your Saturn Return. Much will end, and much will begin. I assume you've read my articles both on Saturn transits to natal planets as well as the Saturn Return. Pluto's also been square your Sun.
Glad you've had a therapist who would help you with the thornier issues. Since November 2006 Saturn should have brought new structure to your life, view, optimism, and ability to embrace larger realities. Also glad you've distilled gratitude out of events, since appreciation and gratitude have been and are bringing gifts from Spirit due to Neptune.
I suggest you get a copy of "Astrology for the Millions" by Grant Lewi to help you understand how to regard transits. The art of synthesis only comes after studying thousands of charts and seeing how various intertwined aspects are working themselves out in life events, your own and others. That's why many so-called professional astrologers shouldn't call themselves professionals. It's one thing to know the jargon. It's another to be able to integrate the various pulses into a coherent view. I have found many who think they know astrology don't have a clue how it works, but ego prevents them from considering alternative approaches. I've found it useful to study and apply a few hundred approaches, and am still looking to see what works and what doesn't, and under what specific circumstances.
Cash flow problems? Welcome to acting! There are many professions where being a good actor is useful AND you can actually make money. And of course, being a professional actor can pay off, but usually it's a ton of sweat equity before anything takes off (as you undoubtedly know!) Learn to prioritize, get your thought forms and expectations in proper shape through studying "The Game of Life" by Florence Shinn, and remember that since we have to learn throughout our lives, we may be challenged to learn other skills while we're pursuing our desires and goals. You obviously need to learn that the reward of patience is patience. Good luck thinking "now I've had enough of it." Saturn has its own agenda, the carrot and stick helping us to become persevering, organized and fit things into short term and long term priorities. Patience in action is usually the way we accomplish long term goals. I'm sure you'll be a lot more aware of what you can and cannot live with during the next 20-24 months. There are major rewards to be captured by using the Saturn skills I've outlined here. Make an organized plan, go for it, and you could be on top of your world 1000 days down the road.

Thank you for the well wishes Robert and for your valuable advice and insight. I haven't read your articles (still exploring) but will search for them right this second (don´t you love tabbed browsing?), as well as check out your stuff on Dharma (one of the first Astrology books I read was Isabel Hickey's "Astrology, A Cosmic Science" and while I loved it and it helped me "get" astrology, I'm not altogether a believer in Karma and Dharma and have some issues with the concepts, but am willing to learn more). Thanks for pointing out the Sun-Pluto square, I saw but didn't SEE it until you mentioned it. In another article you talked about Pluto being on the GC, how does this affect it's relationships with the luminaries? In my chart it's very closely linked to both as well as Jupiter and, to a lesser degree, Mars. The GC is very prominent in my consciousness, and I feel Pluto's connection to it around this time has strong 2012 implications. Pluto and Scorpio are also very prominent in the charts of a lot of people around me.
The great thing about this therapist is he's not even a psychologist or psychiatrist, just a true healer. I've had more progress with him in the last few months than in 10 years of psych therapy. It wasn't until about a month ago, probably near the Lunar Eclipse, that I had a real breakthrough that, for lack of a better word, "repolarized" me to the positive end of the spectrum and really opened me up to the gifts you mentioned. I'm going to a meditation class with him as soon as I finish this. I guess I'm worried that Saturn will bring depression and desperation back, and am VERY invested in preventing this from happening, its transit over Moon-Jupiter was hard enough. I knew you'd say that about the patience crack, it's more about having been patient and tired of waiting for things to pass, I want to take an active approach and make every second count, put myself out there and show people what I'm capable of right off the bat, learn how to hit the ground running. Right now it's felt like the carrot and stick is part of a treadmill in a hamster cage, lots of running, no advancement. I do have faith that will change. Do you know why Mexico is considered to be ruled by Capricorn? It would help me to integrate with this oftentimes frustrating society that I am so love and am proud to be a part of.
Well it's sort of a relief to hear that it takes so much study to get synthesis. The Virgo in me loves the analysis part but it seems the Piscean synthesis is where you have your "Eureka!" moments. I've read that knowing your own chart is very helpful in interpretation but once again it seems that so many balls are in the air, I just kind want to duck and let every fall down, what with close conjunctions and certain degrees connecting so much stuff. When a transit touches one point or planet it's like it sets off a chain reaction! There's so much going at a time that it's dificult to separate the wherefores and try to see things objectively. Then again, I´ve also read that charts where all the planets are connected to each other like mine tend to have an impact on the world, which is just fine and dandy according to my Indigo Soul; we're here to change the world, dammit! And we might as well start now. I know that my Leo and Capricorn emphasis suggest leadership and salesmanship abilities but the information overload prevents me from seeing what works and what doesn't, it's like trying to get a bunch of oily fish out of a barrel. My Mercury just kidnaps and runs away with it sometimes. Hopefully the Saturn-Virgo connection will help with this, as well as help me integrate other talents (I like to describe myself as a Storyteller, though acting is the one thing that really connects me to God consciousness; by the way, you really hit the nail on the head with your insights into the nature of showbiz, but those moments make it all worthwhile).
This day has already brought me so many great gifts and I am deeply grateful for yours. I will check out those books and articles you mentioned. Hopefully our paths will cross someday and we can share a pint at a pub, my favorite place to drink and socialize in the whole world. I look forward to gleaning more insights and tools from your body of work here. Gotta go or I'll be late. Take care.

Hi Rod - Enjoy exploring. Dharma exists whether we know it or agree with it or not. And karma exists by virtue of the fact that all we do, feel, think, and aspire to creates ripples in time. The Pluto-GC contact relative to one's lights is beyond this comment stream. Again, the outers are nothing personal. Just do what you have to do, and stop worrying about how fast, how quick, how perfect. Mexico is said to be Cap. Why I don't know, unless it has to do with the Mexican Independence Day being its birthday. You would know more about these things than me. The art of synthesis is more Aquarius than Pisces, since ultimately Astrology is an analytical craft more than an intuitive one. And you may want to edit your posts a little to get to the nut of what you're trying to say rather than shotgunning all over the map. And of course I would love to hit your favorite pub someday for a pint.
Posted by: Robert | September 18, 2007 at 05:15 PM
Actually Mexican Independence Day was the day before yesterday and Mexican Revolution Day is Nov 20. The Virgin of Guadalupe appeared on Dec. 12, which is actually a national holiday here (there's an article by Mexican Astrologer Luis Lesur on Astrodienst that makes a compelling argument for a chart of her appearance, interesting stuff). I'll try to stop worrying, get the Virgo in me to settle down some. Interesting info about Aquarius, gives me a whole new perspective on the issue. And the meditation was amazing, really great stuff. I'll keep my comments shorter, Mercury on the Cardinal Axis be damned, though the shotgunning is what sometimes yields the best insights, guess it works better in spoken conversation. Thanks again for everything. :)
