Today we take a new look at one of the most enlightened Americans ever to grace our nation, Ralph Waldo Emerson. He was a sage and philosopher of the highest order, and gave young America some major philosophical wisdom cred through his Transcendentalist movement.
Today's offering revisits a couple of articles I've done about this "Sage from Concord," so enjoy checking them out if you haven't seen them before, and enjoy them even more if you have. For your consideration, here's Ralph Waldo Emerson's Enlightened Transcendentalism. In it you'll find some interesting quotes, along with another link to an earlier article titled "Ralph Waldo Emerson - Enlightened American" which I trust you'll also enjoy.
I'm on the road, which is why my article output has dropped a little, but I'll be composing what I can over the next several days which should take care of your quest for knowledge of what's happening and why. There are also some major developments in my life and the life of this site which I'll share with you within the next week. I'm suspending commentary for a few more days, but it's something which you NEED to know about, since it has global implications.

Can't wait to hear about these developments, and surely hope that you will continue your blog! I would surely miss it if you closed up shop. Hope all is well with you and yours. I can tell you this- what's happening is crazy in my life, that's for sure. It may be the Pluto transit into Capricorn (conjunct Mars and opposes all my Cancer personal planets) but my family is experiencing death or serious illness from several directions all at once. It's really heavy stuff. I am learning compassion and how to be brave. The last two weeks have been really harsh.
Namaste!

Hi Valerie - Yes, I'm continuing the blog, but there have been recent developments involving google that have tipped me that there may be larger forces at work trying to muzzle this site. Beyond that I don't what to speculate, but I'm trying to figure things out the best I can on the road with limited connectivity. As for death, well, it's all around right now. I've heard of several from people close to me that they have relatives who have died the past three weeks. Hang in there, do the prayers for the smooth passage of the departed, and by all means practice compassion, since it seems the only thing worth doing when death and illness are in the air.

Hi Robert. I just posted a comment over on the original Emerson thread. Then after I posted it I realized that I was picking up on a comment stream from May 2006. Oh well....
Just wanted to let you know that I am still lurking...

Hi Robert,
I have been trying to access the site through Google as I am a terrible speller and can't spell Aquarius. For some reason it directs me to the old Salon page. However, there is a link to this site.
Just thought you would want to know.
Peace,
Helen

Hi dcu - As "they" say, "Nyet problema!" Glad you had the time to weigh in regardless of which stream it is.
Hi Helen - Yes, there seems to be a problem, which I've already notified google about, but it's a lousy company as there is no way to contact a person or even email them where they will answer me. Next week after I get back home I will launch a new initiative. At least it's not the government (or so I believe!)
