I know that some readers feel politics is tedious and I exaggerate the degree that George Bush has flaunted and ignored the supreme law of our land, the US Constitution. Today's article may help you understand to what degree Dubya is an outlaw and criminal. A bit from Molly Ivins' last book, it seems that even wearing a T-shirt can get you thrown in jail, lose your job, and years of hassle. This is not about partisan politics. In fact, the Republican party has become the party of Fascism and lawlessness.
For your consideration via the fantastic site TruthOut, an excerpt from "Bill of Wrongs: The Executive Branch's Assault on America's Fundamental Rights," the last book by Molly Ivins and Lou Dubose. The article is titled The Assault on Freedom which fills us in on some really bizarre BushCo heavy handedness. I'm just glad the two involved in this case did choose to stand up for their rights, even though I hope that the criminals don't skate through a last minute presidential pardon. Thick as thieves and all that....
RIP and Happy belated Virgo Birthday, Molly Ivins. You were one of the best, with a great sense of humor to boot. A 20th Century Female Mark Twain indeed! And if any of you want a real sense of satire, well pointed with a wit as sharp as a knife and often funny beyond belief, please research what's out there on the web, since she was one of the funniest and most direct humorists in the history of our world.
