Since the most important election of our lives is only 840 hours away, I'll be posting some things to consider or support from time to time. Today we offer videos interviewing GOP Cyber security expert Stephen Spoonamore who explicitly states "the GOP wanted e-voting to steal elections but now foreign governments will be hacking and the winner will be determined by the best hackers. He says that if the GOP wins the hacking competition, McCain will win 51.2 percent with three electoral votes over Obama, and it will be a stolen election." If you're interested, read on.
For your consideration, from the very respectable site Velvet Revolution, New Spoonamore Interview - E-voting Machines are a National Security Threat. As the site says, "Spoon makes valid points about the people who have been implicated in much of the election thefts such as, 'they are religious extremists.' He names those who know about stolen elections and he insists that the only way to protect this election is with paper ballots, hand counted."
Please check it out and stay on top of who's counting the votes where you live, what kind of machines are in use, and who's monitoring potential voter disenfranchisement. Please take the time to become informed about what's going on in this most important part of the election process. There are also other sites on the right hand links under "Monitoring Voting Irregularities" where you can stay informed about what's happening in your state and nationally.
The best way to thwart those who would cook the books is to vote absentee in early voting. These are sealed and hand counted after election day. This is one way to ensure to some degree that your vote will be counted as you cast it, and not subject to machine hacking.
This is not "partisan politics," but the very foundation of democracy. When the vote of the people no longer matters as to who wins elections, then we've become a dictatorship. This is the election where either we get an honest vote or we get another fraudulent government run by gray men in the shadows.
"It's not who votes that counts, it's who counts the votes," Joseph Stalin

not really the most important election of our lives as both candidates advance the war agenda and the inflationary depression will persist regardless of which puppet is installed. though i agree election fraud is a huge issue which should be publicized and monitored closely.

Hi Irth - Yes, it's happening, and been happening, for years now. Rove is an evil genius who is the worst thing that's happened to America in a looooong time.
Hi Kid Mercury - Well, it's important if we're to slow down the coming train wreck and begin to implement solutions to the coming mess. At least the Dems will try to decrease the march to war, whereas McCain has declared he's in it for a hundred years or more. The economic problem could be solved over time through more investment in training or retraining people in productive skills and dealing with our infrastructure and other things that would actually benefit America, such as development of alternative energy generation.
Surely you would not suggest that a 72 year old hothead who has a high probability of dying in office to be replaced with a hooplehead is no different as a potential leadership team than a college educated professional who could be replaced with someone who knows both economics and foreign policy. That's the same kind of thinking that got us Dubya in 2000 thanks to Nader. But if the numbers of voters who are disenfranchised keep growing, then we'll continue the dictatorship that has gotten us in this mess with no intention of doing anything other than rewarding the Wall Street con men and going to war with the world over oil, making Bush41 and his Saudi partners wealthier and wealthier.
