Now that we're about halfway through Saturn's stay in Virgo, I thought we should take a look back on some things I said over a year ago, and reconsider how we want to use this energy in the year ahead. Given that Saturn is now in a long term opposition to Uranus, it will be of utmost importance that we stay mindful of bringing forth Saturn's higher function, since this oppositional tension will definitely challenge many security systems.
So far we've been blessed with a long term trine from Jupiter in Capricorn (the sign Saturn rules) to Saturn in Virgo, another Earth sign in which Saturn finds great harmony. Virgo is Capricorn's higher Truth, and helps us adjust the better to use the exalted Saturn in Libra energy that follows.
It seems we've all had to be more practical, detail oriented, and work as hard as possible to adjust and prepare for what's coming, regardless of our individual conditions. Due to being only in the first half of Virgo so far, it's primarily affected those with early Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces, and Gemini planets or Ascendants. It's also been an important year for February Pisces, May Geminis, August Virgos, and November Sagittarians, as well as those signs born the first week in the following months.
It's now entered the second half of Virgo and will affect powerfully those born the first 3 weeks of March, June, September, and December. Though it will primarily affect those born the first 2 weeks of the month during Spring and Summer 2009, it does enter Libra in late October 2009 and accelerate those conditions that will last through 2010 and 2011 involving heavy Cardinal squares and oppositions as discussed in other articles.
If you want to find out more about this period and the one to come, as well as which generations have been and are being most affected by Saturn's transit of Virgo, please go to:
Part two will take a new look at what each individual sign could expect from this influence in 2007-2008. I'll compose more for its effect on each individual sign between late 2008 through 2009 and 2010 in the near future, so stay tuned.

thanks for this heads-up. looking a little further (after reading the link), i'm wondering how saturn's transit through libra will impact the dramas certain to ensue with pluto in capricorn, since we are facing a two year square (not sure if it will span the full two years, mathematically). i'm thinking of discipline/boundaries/rules and justice/fairness/equality vs. transformation/upheaval/cleansing and government/business/social structures.
intersted in your thoughts...

Hi Saturn's D - Well, those squares will impact different people and nations differently depending on how those planetary energies are functioning locally. Yes, there will be those things you mention, and many other challenges to boot. I hope you went all the way through the various links to other related articles to the one linked above, since at the end of the one on the Cardinal squares and crosses there are three very elaborate articles dealing with what's coming over the next 5-6 years.

Hi Robert:
I'm a big fan of your work, and am hoping that you can maybe shed some light upon my professional/career sector. With Saturn in Virgo, I've definitely turned the heat up in my efforts and progress, but I wonder when would be a good time (approximately) to launch a major project.
Here are some of my stats:
Sun in Libra, Moon in Leo
Sagi Rising (w. Neptune conjunction)
Moon Trine/Saturn Square/Sun Sextile Neptune
Jupiter and Saturn in Virgo
Mercury, Venus and Uranus in Scorpio
I appreciate any insight you have to offer. Thank you and be well!

Hi Warrior Lady - This is the sort of major decision one should not make from a comment stream. Your Saturn return should be an excellent time (especially with this Jupiter in Capricorn favorable to your Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus!) for you to position yourself for the long run. Especially with the coming Scorpio transits favorable to transiting Jupiter and Saturn, take advantage of the sextiles and trines to make hay while the Sun shines, so that Jupiter in Aquarius can help expand the light of your Sun while giving productive momentum to your Sag. Find the right multiple favorable aspects to launch the effort, and it should go fine.

Hi Shadee - Don't have a clue. Astrology is not fortune telling. If you prepared, studied, and did what you needed to, I have no doubt you passed. What grade will be determined by the diligence you put into your studies.

Hello, Im an aquarian born on 21-1-1976 belonging to the medical profession. Im facing a marital crisis( separation). My stats are as follows-gemini ascendant, saturn in cancer(second house), moon in virgo, north node in libra, venus in sagi, sun and mercury in capricorn, jupiter in pisces, and mars in taurus in the twelfth house. My hubby happens to be a capricorn(born DEC 1974) with sagi ascendant, venus sun and mercury in ascendant, saturn and moon in gemini(seventh house), north node and mars in scorpio in twelfth house, jupiterin third house. Hi hilu - You're going deeper with Saturn on your Moon near your 4th, and must eliminate all negative memories from your past, near or far, if you're to achieve triumphs as Saturn rises in your Western half. Pluto in your 7th, with Uranus conjunct the ruler of your 7th, would seem to show your partner has a strong need for independence and feeling more alive somehow. No doubt Pluto aspecting the ruler of your partner's 7th and Venus is also a contributing factor, along with Saturn squaring his Moon and Saturn. I'm sure there are other factors, but at this time I can only note that Jupiter is offering you both a new adventure.

Hi.i do not have a natal chart nor do i have exact birth timings.i only know i was born on 3rd of march (sunday) very early in the motning(between 5-6 am)the year was 1957.i seem to make every effort in progressing my career.even after getting good opportunities it didnt seem to last.it lasts for 6-7 months and some proffessional hazards will occur. The losses in the recent past seems to make me beleive i m a looser in every aspect. But i dont let that affect me coz i have tremendous will power and i m a survivor..i have a son yet a single mother.having to raise him single handedly i have had to make several compromises & adjustments.Having to leave him with my folks,he is somehow today vary of his mother.my being away in the recent few years has had a negative effect on him..he tends to be arrogant, obstinate or sarcastic when it comes to dealing with me.he does love me but somewhere he nurses a grudge and tends to ignore his mother and yet he is agood child to others..my mother has a good influence on him..while i dont..today he has found a girl by his choice whom he plans to marry someday.which means little that i was hoping to be with him and make up for the lost time is also gone..all my life i seem to be living earning and giving away as i have had to leave my job several times to be with my son.& due to oblessness.i honestly could not chalk out a definite career owing to lack of finanacial assistance or infrastructure..is there any hope for me in 2009..do u think my new job i will last for long?.I work in a senior management position in a international chain in the sales& marketing stream.Pls advice.

Hi madhushree - Will power and determination are good survival tools. We cannot change the past, but we can open to what blessings we have and do the best we can with what we have. You'll be learning how to negotiate with others as an equal in 2009-10. The vision of 2008 will necessitate direct action beginning Mar-Apr 2009. Learn to meditate the best you're able the next few weeks, focus on positive expectations followed by alert action, and prepare for long term rewards and closures in the coming year that will help open many larger opportunities in 2010.

Hi Napoli Blue - What you want is waaaaay beyond what can be discussed in a comment stream, and entirely depends on what you've learned from the old relationship and what you're willing to learn about practical effectiveness in your world. You should do well in 2009 if you cooperate with Jupiter. Saturn is showing you the need to reevaluate your goals and ambitions and forms of service you're willing to offer your world. Venus conjunct Saturn shows you have some assumptions about relationships that need gentle, playful adjustment, especially since your Taurus planets are quincunx Mars which is opposed your ruler Mercury in Gemini. The past two years Pluto and the eclipses have indeed helped you "escape from a narrow destiny."
