In a comment stream a reader mentioned a sense of new beginnings. This happens at this time of the year each year, since it begins a period when the inner planets all conjunct first Pluto, then Neptune, then Uranus within a 90 day span. While Neptune and Uranus have yet to be triggered, Pluto's seeds for years to come have begun to sprout.
This is because Venus having conjuncted Pluto, it fertilized and began to birth new Pluto seeds for the next year. As Pluto has been conjunct the Galactic Center for some time and will continue to for at least a couple more years, when the various planets conjunct Pluto at this time of year these seeds of Galactic Transformational Consciousness will be able to be sensed by those who have trained their faculties in such things.
Whichever planet reaches Pluto first is the initiator of the new yearly seeds. This year it was Venus. Since Venus represents fertility and opportunities to "capture" any desired thing, I believe these began to grow in November.
Now that Mercury has conjuncted Pluto, we are even now glimpsing forms of these new Pluto energies. These Plutonic Galactic seeds will be vitalized by the Sun, as they are each year, giving that life a quickening impulse.
This year those seeds will be energized by Mars. While the Sun, Mercury, and Venus all conjunct Pluto each year, it only happens every two years with Mars, setting an even larger pulse of future activities.
Why this particular set of conjunctions is important is these conjunctions of November and December 2008 are the first set of conjunctions since Jupiter conjuncted Pluto this time last year, setting a future pattern that is now being triggered.
Thus not only are these conjunctions setting cycles into motion that affect us for one or two years, they are also setting a 12 year cycle into motion. And to note, the inner planet conjunctions to Neptune in Aquarius in early 2010 will trigger the promises that the coming multiple Jupiter conjunctions to Neptune will offer us in 2009.
So in this season of conjunctions to Pluto at the Galactic Center and the first time they occur in Capricorn, there is much to consider as we collectively stand at the edge of time on the corner of Fate Street and Free Will Boulevard.
For those who are interested in such things, revisiting what I wrote last year about the Jupiter conjunct Pluto At the Galactic Center contains hints about things to be aware of for years to come.

Well, I am glad to know that all the hard-nosed (but much needed) change energy of Pluto in Capricorn has at least been "kissed under the threshold" by the Lesser Benefic, hopefully lending some long-term lilt and charm to people's beleagured spirits through these tough times...

robert,
i can so see this... people poised between their higher self leading or ego/personality predominance...
& then as you say "free will st. & destiny"....& perhaps the key (or enlightenment) is to know which is which :-)
well, am catching up on your posts.... soaking in.

Hello Robert. I am still lurking. The output of your information on this site is absolutely amazing. The folks who make it to this cantina are fortunate indeed. I have been watching the upcoming winter solstice point conjuncting Pluto. It seems that Pluto himself is likely the Indian Chief claiming authority before the assembled multitude. What sayest thou?
Namaskarams to you and all sentient beings.

Hi Robert. I'm wondering if having Pluto right now opposing my Venus (2°Cancer in my 7th house), will create an energy that becomes desperate enough to force me to be my real self, to take risks in the ares ruled by my Venus (5th and 10th house)?
Thank you & blessings,
Leana

Hi Layli - Love that phrase "kissed under the threshold." Probably the perfect way to view it, given its subsequent union with Jupiter on a degree of rewards for courage. We're already being given "pleasing forms" (Venus) that have begun to give us all ideas and understandings (Mercury) that will soon become a part of our routines. Actually, though these are tough times, it's due to the powers that be perpetuating obsolete unsustainable forms of whatever. However, given that once anything breaks down, it loses its magnetism and thus offers breakthrough potential. Then comes the breakout to other possibilities. Even now the oil companies are scrambling to drop prices to sell us more, but driving habits have changed and alternative technologies are being given a huge boost. It'll take a while, but we're living through the end times of an old, very exploitive and destructive thought form.
Hi Michele - This is such long wave material that it takes adjusting the view in radical particulars, but once the angle is found, it's fairly easy to see seeds of major productive changes happening despite the local breakdowns. We are told humanity is on the path of return, and that will mean individuals consciously choosing certain ways to learn, love, and live that are not so separate and difficult as we have endured in times past.
Hi dcu - Somehow the jalopy keeps chugging along, and so far the wheels haven't come off yet and the cat still keeps getting petted! Yes, Pluto/Shiva is definitely THE "big Chief" - anyone who doesn't believe that has interesting times ahead! Pillars of Fire who are Lord of the Underworld show their pre-eminence when we believe we can challenge the Divine Locomotive. And in fact, "War is over if you want it!"
Hi Leana - Pluto opposition Venus will clear out all of the obsolete things and people, likes and dislikes, so your 5th and 10th house affairs can function in a purified manner. Pluto in your first is showing you seeds of your deeper more powerful Self image. I have no doubt you won't be indulging you own or others' sentimentalities and insecurities after this transit is done. Welcome to your deeper nurturer.

thank you robert for explanation :-)

Thank you Robert. I can already feel all this "purification" happening in those areas in my life.

Robert, what shall a Jupiter-Neptune bring in terms of the Aquarian ideals of mankind: eliminating poverty, people freedom, self-governance, community feeling, networking, humanitarian work...
I believe that all these unemployment rising around the world (which is also happening to me) could be an opportunity for new grounds of work.
However I do believe this will make also many rebel and rioting

Hi Michele and Leana - You're welcome.
Hi Popp - I'll be writing about that specific conjunction very soon. I believe it will bring forth visions and ideals of what could be, and no doubt many groups will be formed that are progressive, synergetic, and dedicated to a better ideal. As Aquarius is a relational synthesizing sign, perhaps many of the jobs of the future will combine the old forms in new interactive ways. And yes, Jupiter can be horsey and disruptive when there's too much waste and extravagance going on. Jupiter may be benefic, but it also has a temper. When enough people suffer enough, if they have little to lose it makes for mass movements.

Hi, Robert. 4 May 1941 lol 6 signs in Taurus and a Virgo ascendant...I am getting in touch with parts of myself that I had forgotten were there and what a blessed revelation. It hasn't been easy and I know there is much more to do, but at least now I know not to worry. I am not quite to the point where I want to say "Bring it on," but I am okay with things. Anne

Hi Robert, my Midheaven is on the galactic center at 26' Sagittarius and I'm just wondering what the year may hold for me based on this and the fact that Pluto recently passed this point in my chart. I'm a Leo with the moon in Taurus and Pisces on the Ascendant (conjunct transiting Uranus). Any thoughts?

HI Anne - Jupiter in Capricorn should have been good for many understandings for those with mojo planets in Earth signs!. Expect January to kick things into high gear.
Hi Alex - Your MC has been stimulated for many years, so don't take it personally. These are ultra long rang influences. Mick Jagger is also Leo with Moon in Taurus, so you must be talented! Try to detach from controlling or being controlled in relationships, and see friends who could be your equal, rather than imbalanced.
