The international nightmare of America's worst president, George Bush, is over, except for dealing with the wreckage. Thank God the rebuilding can now begin, though it may take many years. May Barack Obama be protected by all the angels, devas, and other servants of the good. However brief it may be, smell the sweet air of a new era dawning. Aum Namah Shivaya!

Let the beckons of hope shine for all who would see. And, the clarion call sing for all those whould hear. Change has come, not only to America, but, to the world.

Your post's title would be funny if it weren't so true. It has been a VERY long 8 years. I feel like I can breathe again. Hope you are well Robert.

It's been a long time coming. The last eight years have truly been a nightmare. A new day has dawned. The entire planet rejoices. Amen. So Mote It Be!

i will even be (though Canadian) celebrating with American friends here in Tokyo at a great venue called the Pink Cow in shibuya area...with live hip/hop jazz poetry by Marcellus, a Senegalese artist/singer/percussionist and a dj...should be fun...
I think everyone is happy that Monsieur Bushy Head is out of there and we have someone who is at least promising a real change to the affairs of America.

Hi all - So much hope, so much promise, so much work to be done to replace global fear and violence with peace, justice, trust, and love. It's a new time, filled with uncertainty and ignorance, but also willingness on the part of many to do something different.

I think we had to live through the past 8 years in order to be ready for Mr. Obama. Without George, there wouldn't be this need for change (even though it was there, there wasn't the impetus required to recognize it and DO something about it). So while it is wonderful to have Mr. Obama as our president, let's not forget to thank George for putting us on the "right" track. Truly, it is wonderful to be standing on the edge of history and knowing that we're going to make a difference....

Hi, Robert! Hope the New Year finds you well...
I can't think of a better man to usher America into the Age of Aquarius than President Obama!
And, wasn't the oath gaffe a classic Mercury retrograde example (having to take it again, lol)?
Hugs,
Shelley
