We have a New Moon coming in a few hours that will affect us for the next 4 weeks. This initiates the closing of the old year cycle, preparing us for the coming Vernal (Spring) Equinox, a point of extraordinary importance in time. Pisces is where we harvest the fruits of our labors, for good or ill, and remember many things in our mystic and distant past. It is where we re-view the movie of our life and see many things from a different perspective.
The New Moon falls at 7 Pisces at 5:35 pm PST Feb 24, 1:35 am GMT Feb 25. It falls within the larger cluster of planets spanning Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, and Aries, as have the past 2 New Moons as well. This is the 3rd in the sequence of 4 New Moons to fall within the cluster, thus giving more intensity, weight, and mass to everything we've been going through in 2009 so far. I'll discuss more about this very powerful, pervasive cluster and how it's expressed tomorrow.
This New Moon will bring forth inspirations, and show us how we're living a new set of standards from what we were even a year ago. Of course, this will be a source of peace and renewal, or distress and disorientation, depending on what these standards are for each individual. By our compromises we can know our errors and our beliefs, past and present. These will shape the future coming at us like an express train over the next 3 months.
For the next few weeks, there will be declarations and standing up for one's beliefs, whether noble or misguided. Values will be distilled despite the outer chaos. By understanding necessary limits, we can come to a "light of high realization."
The process may work as a withdrawal from some activity in our lives so that we can grasp a different reality. This is another stage in finding the "inherited elements of our nobility" that we are willing to stand for. What is our standard? What is our allegiance? What makes our lives worthwhile? What is our inner voice quickening us to hear? What is our Soul's need? These are the questions arising from this New Moon.
This is a time of Conscience inspiring our personalities to a better way. Cultivate expressing your Spirit's independence and repudiate all forms of bondage to limited views. Jupiter ruling the lunation is at 12 Aquarius, showing our need to understand different levels of understanding and not fall into the illusion that all beings are equal in all things.
This can open us to inspiration through reaching up to a higher level of Self-realization and application, and offer us opportunities to demonstrated wisdom and compassion by reaching out to help others who are struggling with what they haven't realized or don't know.
Open to evaluating your Soul's progress, be willing to improve your efforts however it is appropriate, and if necessary, divorce some part of the past that is a drag on your line, or hindering your progress in your life.
There are so many favorable aspects that I can state it's a very favorable tide and time, despite the endings, renunciations, and arrival of unknowns as we strive for higher realization. One thing is certain, though. Venus biseptile Pluto, septile Neptune and Chiron, and triseptile Saturn is just the beginning of a very long and constant pressure from the Grand Irrationality.
This sets 4 points into activity that will be triggered as planets and the Moon transit any of the seven zones triggering personality, national, and international irrationality, compulsions, and actions at "forks in the road of destiny" for those involved. And yes, I'll be composing more for March and April 2009 shortly.
A final note on this New Moon. Mercury and Saturn are still in Mutual Reception, and so become the "governing planets" for the entire chart. All the other planetary energies reference these two planets. Both of them are in signs they do well in, with Mercury exalted and Saturn in its own decan.
They are in a very favorable biquintile, which should bring interactive gifts and very favorably specialized circumstances. These weeks are a barometer of things to come, as well as a preliminary planning stage for a future launch of plans already in motion, whether we know what they are or not. And of course, the recent Solar and Lunar Eclipses are dominant for months to come, so please consider everything happening with an eye to those influences as well.

Hi Robert,
Does any of this have any bearings on how well a relationship might develop in which the first face-to face meeting will take place shortly after this new moon, specifically about 10:30am on Weds, Feb 25th? We have communicated for a couple of weeks by e-mail. I delayed the meeting a few days from his initial spur of the minute suggestion for meeting on Sunday evening so that it would take place shortly after this new moon, in the hopes that it would be auspicious. Any comments ~ probably too late to change the plans but I would still be interested.
Thanks and blessings, PK

Hi PK - Well, it is said that the inception of a relationship shows what will develop over time. The periods after New Moons are good for things developing quickly, and of course Mercury sextile Venus is highly auspicious, as is the coming Venus sextile Jupiter. The Grand Irrationality is putting many at critical turning points at the threshold of future likes and dislikes that can only move forward after the Venus conjuncts Mars at 30 Pisces in late April. Venus RX is good for rethinking and re-feeling many things from the past so we can get a new perspective and reflection on those people and events. Then we move forward after it goes direct in motion.

The inception of a relationship shows what will develop over time...could you expand on this Robert. Is the inception considered the first contacts or the actual physical meeting?
Considering the emotional baggage both paries bring to the relationship, if this is recognised and acted out on the first meeting, thus resolving old ways of behaving, does this mean the relationship has already served it's purpose. Would it be appropriate to continue once this is recognized?

Hello Robert-
I am hoping that you can help me understand some likely occurrences regarding this New Moon & The Grand Irrationality. Based on the linked article...it should be active for me in Virgo (3rd house). I have Venus @ 12 and Pluto @ 21. Neptune is @ 23 Scorpio (5th house).
I have had some very interesting things happen over the last week...people from the past showing up with a totally different energy...positive energy!
Many Thanks...

Hi Robert,
I enjoy reading your blog and learning about astrology from your posts...
Today I am torn with a personal question and I am wondering what your opinion is about scheduling surgery at a time when the Moon will be VOC. (Monday March 23-09 9:00 AM)
I understand you have many readers... so I am not "expecting" a response but would love a quick comment back if you have time.
Thank you for all your offerings!

Thanks, Robert
Between now and May my progressed Venus will conjunct my natal moon and my progressed moon will enter my 7th house ~ You told me about both those in last May's reading. So I'm already anticipating some changes. I've been getting much clearer over the past three months about what I do and don't want in a relationship, so I suspect I am at a much better starting point for a new relationship than I was previously.
Thanks again and blessings. PK

Hi Robert,
Thank you so much for this article. I have, thru intuition, blindly felt these things coming. I wasn't clear on the way it was going to happen. Your article is kind of a super map to refer to. This is so good to read and know.
You are such a blessing!!

Hi, Robert, how are you....it has been a crazy four weeks. I have to stop it cause i am exhausting myself. This particular new moon actually falls into my seventh house and it happens to be within a few degrees of the new man i am seeing...he just had his birthday yesterday....
but i am not sure how this relationship will work out for me....its too early to tell if it will grow or not

Your Highness,
Wow.....the sun/newmoon are conjunct my Jupiter in 12th house pisces.....trining 6 uranus/venus Cancer end of 3rd close house. Venus is on my Aries ascendant. What in the world is happening?! Perhaps my water heater will be acting up?:) Will my water issues ever end?

"These will shape the future coming at us like an express train over the next 3 months."
"What is our inner voice quickening us to hear? What is our Soul's need? These are the questions arising from this New Moon."
"These weeks are a barometer of things to come, as well as a preliminary planning stage for a future launch of plans already in motion, whether we know what they are or not."
Dear Robert,
I have directly quoted from some of your sentences, since these somehow equate EXACTLY how I feel, with my six natal planets in Aquarius and going through a phase of Mercury return, Jupiter return and Mars return...
It is incredible, too, the sense of expectation, as if something were really going to change! Also, from the moment Jupiter went into Aquarius, weeks ago, I felt SO relieved, as if all the excess work and heaviness that I had felt through the Jupiter Capricorn timeframe had suddenly been "lifted up"!
Brilliant analysis.

Isabel

Hi Marie - Well, I probably should write an article on the importance of when we begin things. I may have already written something on it, so you may want to site google to see if there's anything. Inception is a funny thing. Is something started at first contact, or first view? Probably first contact. The baggage will be seen in the chart of the first contact AND the first meeting. We cannot deal with the entirety of our karmas in any one given contact. If some are acted out, there are plenty more!;-) Old behaviors are both subtle and obvious. Once we chew up the obvious, we then get to peel off layers of the onion in subsequent weeks or years, depending on what karmas and how many we have to work through with whomever we are with. To address your question, yes or no. Old ways may be confronted. Whether they are "permanently resolved" or not is too much for a comment stream. When things are acted out, then sometimes we need more than one experience to reinforce our own orientation. Sometimes with "instant recognition" we get to bail and go there "nevermore."
Hi S - Things are active all over our charts, and overlap in their influences. Good that you're experiencing positive energies, since many are, but unfortunately many aren't.
Hi Maritza - If a person has a planet in the last degrees of a sign, I believe the Moon is never VOC. And when we take novile, quintile, and septile series aspects into account, the Moon is almost never VOC. Obama's inauguration was supposedly VOC, but actually there was an exact tredecile to Venus the moment he legally took office. As for a more specific answer to scheduling surgeries, that's beyond a comment stream. Just make sure the Moon is NOT in the sign ruling the part of the body to be operated on or afflicting its ruling planet. There are other important considerations, but again, that's beyond a comment stream.
Hi PK - Yes, P Venus and P Moon changes certainly will change our sense of what we like or feel we need. And the changes really aren't all that tough, once we stop resisting the better patterns presenting themselves!
Hi Wendy - You're quite welcome. Astrology is a road map and weather report that can help us navigate the changes in the big River of Live.
Hi Micheline - Am marching to my different drum beat as usual! Crazy only begins to describe what's happening. The guy is on a rocket ship into his future.
Hi Chickie - New Moon on your Jupiter should be very good in many ways. Perhaps you're becoming more Venusian these next few weeks?
Hi Isabel - With everything in Aquarius occupying your stellium you're moving into a major future aligned with the larger reality! All the returns are showing you different cycles now set into motion. I'll bet you felt better once Jupiter went into Aquarius!!!

Your Highness,
Sorry to bother you again, but I just discovered not only was the new moon conjunct my 6 Jupiter Pisces, but my progessed MC is also conjunct same spot. Trines progressed Uranus in cancer in casa 1.
Something about to pop....I hope..??????

Hi Chickie - So this New Moon period vitalizes your Jupiter allowing you innovation. Examine your magnetics, and go deep, since by studying unconscious energies you should develop powers to attract new things.

HI Robert sounds like a great adventure to me. But when you say this guy is on a rocket ship to his future, just yesterday we had a talk, about his life, which is actually quite a mess, and he told me that he still has his ex wife's pic in his wallet, which is not good for me i think, and well my emotions have gotten engaged and so now i feel i need to retreat big time, but he said to me right now he is in orbit and and he just does not know what he wants, and had not been with anyone for two years.... so what do i do....
what can i do....what should i do....
