New things and experiences, of course, since it's the beginning of Spring, and the days will be longer than the nights for 6 months to come. The Sun is now in Aries, promising renewal of energy and activity, even as we continue to bring many things to an end.
The Vernal Equinox chart is said to indicate what we can expect over the next 90 days in the way of weather, both actual and symbolic. Pluto will again prove important in the coming season, as it does in the charts at every change of season.
Due to where Pluto is transiting, it makes a square to the Spring and Autumn Equinoctal points, and an opposition to the Summer Solstice point. These are very dynamic aspects that release a lot of energy, and either block or propel events. Given that Pluto is one of the anchors of The Grand Irrationality, when squared it releases a lot of energy creating choices that move people into their destiny, whichever they choose.
Pluto is the ultimate transformer. It figures prominently in both Equinox and Solstice charts, and will for a few more years. It has particularly affected charts in 2007-08, due to it going back and forth over 29-30 Sag and 1-2 Capricorn. This year is certainly no exception.
The Vernal Equinox occurred at 4:44 am PDT March 20th 2009, 12:44 pm Greenwich Daylight time. As with all charts done for celestial occurrences at this time, (including the recent Eclipses) we see the planets lined up in a "Bucket" Jones pattern, with every planet within a narrow span from early Capricorn through early Aries except Saturn in Virgo. This makes Saturn a "nozzle" for the accumulated energies of the larger occupied cluster.
Think that it's a crowded house all trying to achieve release through a single person who serves as a vehicle of expression. Saturn is the focus, the cause, the need, the requirement to fulfill the energies of these times. At 18 Virgo retrograde, it challenges us all to be able to use divine discernment to find the inner guidance that refines the precision in how we fulfill our duties and responsibilities.
Saturn in the Capricorn third of Virgo is very powerful, practical, and pragmatic. It rules the planets in Capricorn and Aquarius in the chart. Thus it affects Pluto, the Moon, the North Node, Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune. Obviously Saturn and its lessons are influencing many areas of our lives as it continues to show us what we believe is venerable, and willing to stand for in the future.
The occupied span begins with Pluto in Capricorn, and ends with Venus retrograde in Aries. We will all move with the seeds of a technique for moving away from the known and familiar while enjoying ourselves, and finish our process this season when we glimpse a Higher Order. There will be many flights into "the wild goose" of fidelity to a Higher Soul Vision activated in May.
Practical self-organization is the means to move into the anticipatory technique of the Moon at 19 Capricorn, so many of us who have prepared will find that conditions have finally caught up to what we have trained for. Find needed protections while practicing dispassion and teaching your highest virtues.
The collective field shows the possibility of picking up and delivering a form of a "Higher Power." This will be more evident as the Spring develops, and lead us to a different view of the purpose of using a form of power by the time of the Summer Solstice on June 20th, 10:46 pm PDT, June 21st, 6:46 am Greenwich time.
Of course, the oppositions between the planets in Pisces and Saturn in Virgo forms the line of the "tension of opposites" in the larger pattern, showing the continuing confrontation between polarized parts of our reality, individual and collective. We are ALL being confronted with awarenesses we must accept.
The closest opposition is from Mercury to Saturn. This indicates a need to open the mind, perceptions, and interpretations, not take things too narrowly or pessimistically, and cultivate a "Spiritually Responsible Mind." When disciplined and organized, our mind is a remarkable vehicle. The trick is not to get bummed out while being patient with the process.
Mercury is a very powerful influence in the chart, since it rules Saturn. It is on a degree promising that we will receive that which nourishes us as we complete a "work chapter" in our lives. We will gather whatever strengthens us among those to whom we are linked within the Web of Life.
This continues the launching of a larger vision, with unique skills and circumstances throughout the next 90 days indicated by the quintile of the lights. There are a tremendous number of productive aspects between various planets, showing the next 13 weeks should be a very positive time in all areas provided we conform to the necessities of alignment with our higher potentials.
Mars in Pisces ruling the Sun and Venus continues to make the next few weeks seem somewhat dreamy and unreal, and is a time to slow things down, meditate, and see the whole picture. We can now sense many things we usually don't, and find a different way to flow with and through circumstances. Reorient, master discouragement, and find hope and promise for what is approaching a few weeks from now.
Due to the quantity of energies in the "harvest sector" of the zodiac, this is an excellent time to reorganize, claim power and responsibility for what is developing, and do some blending at the end of the year cycle. Especially as Mars is in Pisces, every day is good for doing needed closure rituals while imaging a better future.
Look at what has ended, what is emerging, and step out of the ocean on to dry land. And most importantly, keep dreaming the great dream over the next few weeks, since the coming Venus conjunct Mars will ultimately bring us the archetype we have declared our own.
Aum and blessings as we stand on the threshold of a new season of life!

Funny-- I just joked with a friend, today, that there is "no such thing as luck".
My life has taught me that we make our own luck by trying (not giving up) and feeling everything out.

I'm thinking of initiating a large jump into a completely different field (albeit a creative and fun one) in May. Seems to be a good time to kick something fresh off!

Interesting! I just told a friend, today, that there was "no such thing as luck". We have to dream, set forth and try.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful writing with us all. Happy Spring!

"Mars in Pisces ruling the Sun and Venus continues to make the next few weeks seem somewhat dreamy and unreal,..."
Dreamy and unreal. Yes, that's it. And I am working, hard, to find some closure. It's like moving through thick fog - you can see through it, but you still feel its resistance. The best part is the light at the end - and I know for a fact that its sunshine, not a train.
Good stuff!

'The trick is to not get bummed out while being patient with the process'...except when you are stuck in transit.
Only half joking here..when I read about your flight delays - I laughed, not because it was funny (Ha Ha) but because that is what this stuff feels like...all packed and ready to go...plans made checked and double checked...delays due to FOG ...poor visibility...or some other glitch.
Just breathing through now....but it is sooo damn frustrating!
See you on the road soon fellow travellers - I hope.

dreamy and unreal . . . and i thought I was the only one. My natal mars is in pisces and the day mars entered pisces, whoa. I'm new at this stuff, but I felt that one. Like walking into a strong wind (literally). Good to know I'm not alone in this one.

Robert,
Thank you for your inspired reading of the vernal equinox.

Hi AnneTexas - You're most welcome. This should be a fairly good Spring, given the aspects and positions.
Hi Wendy - The Wild Goose is a symbol of the transcendent Soul, journeying with other sentient Beings across space and time in a universal order.
Hi WarriorLady - Our "luck" is what we make of it through preparation and alertness to act in the right ways and times. May will definitely accelerate much that's been promised by Venus RX in Aries.
Hi Aditya - Glad you find power in the concepts, since we all have the ability to know and demonstrate Divine Will, Love-Wisdom, and Intelligence-In-Action.
Hi BritLitChik - As we used to say in Austin in the 60s, "Onward Through The Fog!" Truly the light many are glimpsing is daylight and not a train, despite the wreckage that is happening before our eyes.
Hi DianneM - Yes, I pulled that rant since it seemed counterproductive. Patience is one thing - the transit system being so utterly incompetent while stressing thousands of people stuck with overpriced garbage "food" and no way out is intolerable. Your insight about how the metaphor fits the larger pattern is great.
Hi Victoria - This transit is ending many things, preparing us for many more, and generally requires a lot of time in meditation and solitude to sift through everything and release what is over with as much compassion as possible while not falling into the many delusions that seem to have come to the fore in many lives. For some, blessed relief in their sanctuary. For others, a fog of not knowing which way is up or down.
Hi Lulu - You're most welcome. Thanks for the compliment.

These words of yours sum up all the meaning of these aspects, as probably also of Venus retro and the direct conjunct with Mars again... Dreams coming true...
Thanks,

Hi Isabel - Yes, we truly have some great possibilities ahead, if we open to them even as the chaos swirls around.
