The New Moon falls at 6 Taurus on April 24, 2009, 8:23 pm PDT, 4:23 am April 25 Greenwich time. Like the last several New Moons, this also falls within the cluster of planets spanning early Capricorn through late Taurus shooting a massive amount of energy toward Saturn, which focuses everything. This is a practical time, and the next 4 weeks we'll continue to confront unused power and unlock whatever is caged up. This will dominate the atmosphere for many weeks to come, with things breaking up, breaking down, breaking through, and breaking out through our "will to wholeness."
I mentioned how this configuration operates in the article New Moons, the Great Cluster of Planets in Aquarius, and The Grand Irrationality In Motion March, April, and May 2009 affecting Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. The first 5 paragraphs describe what's still going on through the next few weeks.
The span still opens with Pluto and now ends with Mercury. This Lunation accents a number of very favorable aspects, along with several important conjunctions. The Sun and Moon are trine Pluto and quintile Jupiter, Neptune, and Chiron. We also find Venus and Mars conjunct in early Aries, still close enough to be considered conjunct Uranus in late Pisces. And there is a remarkable configuration involving Mercury biquintile Pluto and tredecile Saturn, itself also tredecile Pluto.
As mentioned in other articles, the cluster of all the planets except Saturn is focusing things in the areas of our charts where it is located. Wherever transiting Saturn is in our charts is where we are learning a joyous rigor of learning and practicing a skill or two.
As Saturn is still retrograde, it continues to be a time of reviewing and refining, as well as continuing to learn a "venerable standard" we are learning to feel and uphold as part of our destiny. Everything that's happening, whether on a personal, interpersonal, or transpersonal level, is doing this Saturn in Virgo retrograde experiential practicum.
A reminder: This is still challenging our ability to deal with the long wave ongoing Saturn opposition Uranus. Though 10+ degrees apart and getting wider, it's still a very powerful pattern that is revolutionizing our lives and forcing us to adjust, learn, practice, and be very realistic in training for something that is to come. We can build a new interactive yet protected existence if we can do needed adjustments, conform to a plan, and do whatever it takes to live the higher standard we believe is worthy.
A New Moon sets the seed forms for what the following 4 weeks will demonstrate. This Lunation is in Taurus, and is the seed for the lessons of the coming Wesak Festival, the second of the "3 High Moons" of Spring each year. You can find out more about the Wesak in various articles on this site.
This New Moon in Taurus falls at 6 degrees, a point of bridge building, cooperation, and a natural effort to "bridge a chasm" that we are told is part of the landscape of evolution. We should be able to "conquer difficulties and limitations by intelligence," and solve problems by joining our skills with others.
According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, we find this symbol promises we can demonstrate independence regardless of inconveniences. This is about transforming limitations into "personal or social assets," the keyword is CHANNELSHIP, and are told this degree is "the directness and the practical instinct by which personality achieves ultimate benefit of its powers."
Perhaps the most remarkable element of this lunation is the dearth of frictional aspects coupled with many non-rational septile-series aspects. Jupiter has now joined the Grand Irrationality with Neptune, and will be septile Pluto for many weeks to come. Expect major lessons to come out of this wherever it falls in your birth chart!
Besides this powerful boosting of the generic irrationality, we also find Mercury at 26 Taurus septile Mars. We all will confront major choices and changes in the Aries, Gemini, Virgo, and Scorpio areas of our lives. The is the first critical fork in the road of a new cycle of coordinating how we do what we do.
However, Mercury promises that if we define role, function, and imagery precisely according to our heart's intention, we will see the manifestation of "the Beloved" on the balcony of our consciousness. Since Mercury and the Lunation are ruled by Venus at 1 Aries, this is truly a point of critical emergent awareness for everyone. We're all coming up out of the "ocean of collective consciousness" and realizing our identity in new ways.
As Mars is the final dispositor for every other planet, it shows the next few weeks we can find and implement an objectivity born of humor. Overall, even though Mars is in its home sign of Aries, it should be somewhat softened by its joining in a long term conjunction with Venus.
Of course, with Venus and Mars in early Aries, it will echo the promise of last month's New Moon in Aries. That Lunation began a knowledge and enjoyment of a life renewal, a sense of newness and expanding possibilities. It fell at 7 Aries, a degree of finding a good life on multiple levels of existence, versatility and expansion. We've all been finding new experiences in emotional, social, or cultural initiatives.
That began the theme of humor leading us to objectivity, and taking a new look at what we like and why we like it, what we believe is beautiful and what we truly value can bring us insights from prior times. That should continue to be set into motion by Venus and Mars in the next few weeks. This is about preparing for new responsibilities and efforts in a new world of experience.
This is the substantiation phase of what has begun to emerge from an old way of life. The only frictional aspect is from Mercury to the Jupiter conjunct Chiron and Neptune Aquarius cluster. This shows the release pattern for all of the favorable building and specializing aspects mentioned earlier. The void is thrown into Leo and Scorpio, so show heart and love as you continue to eliminate and regenerate whatever you need to.
Get clear about the roles you're playing, and open to an inner knowing of others' subconscious if you must get something across. Do not indulge put downs or undermining speech or behavior, and give voice to what is unclear without exaggeration. We can find geniune dispassion in ways that will allow us to pick up and deliver a higher power in the near future, even while experiencing subtle feelings that link us across generations with other seekers of the highest.
Be efficient, adapt as needed while stabilizing the bridging process, and see the "Spiritual linkage through emotional stress" that has been bringing you blessings after the death of useless things. Concentrate, transform using magnetism skillfully, see the dawning of a new day as you experience it in the NOW, and grow through communing with the Spirits of your ancestors, whether physical or Spiritual.

For six weeks I have been walking a friend through her death process (my transiting Saturn in the 8th & Pluto in the 12th). It is rich with experience. At times I cringe and want to run away from the daily activities of a dying friend, but mostly it has deepened me. I am hoping this New Moon sets my Pisces friend free.

Hi Robert, Very well written article. Whatever you write comes clearly across (so clear that I can put it to immediate use soon after). Infact my loved ones are benefitting from what I am learning here. Its also true that the way I say it, they are staring to listen more carefully.
Thank you for your kind and affirmative reply to my last post. Much appreciated.

Hi Morvah - I do believe that with the quantity and quality of great aspects this should be a very productive and unique month ahead.
Hi Sue Moon - My blessings on your friend doing what she has to with a minimum of suffering. You are truly a good friend to be there for her. Those of us who walk between worlds and comfort those who are checking out or those who grieve those leaving do find a timeless strength. Be gentle with yourself as you do what you must.
Hi Michele - Yes, though it seems that many don't want to continue and some of us are having to say goodbye to old friends. Sometimes we learn to hope for things we wouldn't ordinarily hope for. Life is so transitory....
Hi Melody - Glad the qualities are so clearly revealing themselves to you. Often the symbols seem obscure, while other times they're fairly obvious.
Hi Aditya - Glad you can use what is said here to help others you love, and that you are all getting closer as a result. Sometimes a new type of communication can open doors previously shut. Then everything changes due to the clarity and sharing.

Robert, can you tell me where the Grand Irrationality falls in my chart, or tell me how to find it myself?

Thank you!

Hi Sriram - Thanks for your compliment.
Hi Rozaly - Sorry that things are difficult. I'm sure that you can learn much from the experience, and not perpetuate attitudes that don't help you to find true happiness.
Hi Siri - The Grand Irrationality falls in the 7 degree zones created by conjunctions, septiles, biseptiles, and triseptiles to Neptune and Pluto. You can find those degree spans in the last Grand Irrationality article. Then get a chart from any of the numerous sites offering free charts, and see where those zones fall. Where does early Capricorn fall? Where does late Aquarius fall? Where does mid-Aries fall? Then do that with the other zones. That's the best way to find what life areas are affected.
