In Part 2 of this Spiritual Astrology series, we will examine different aspects and configurations involving Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto which challenge us to bring forth our Higher Spiritual Self as we move through unknown zones of experience at a transformational threshold state.
There are very powerful dynamic aspects in April, May, and June 2009 made by various planets to Pluto in Capricorn, Neptune in Aquarius, and Uranus in Pisces. Most of these involve waxing aspects to the Spiritual Triad, indicating the turning of the corner in what's been cooking the past 3 month. This is a "platform" state upon which we will build what will culminate in 5-8 months. These are larger transpersonal energies that affect the entire world.
The run of major aspects continues throughout these months. We have important conjunctions of Mars and Uranus, along with Jupiter conjunct Neptune affecting the larger atmosphere. These fuse energies, and initiate long wave pulses.
The Mars-Uranus contact activates the Uranian revolutionizing energies at the end of the end of an 84 year cycle. We can find our true individuality through Pisces things, involving endings, closure rituals, forgiveness, and compassion. The very important Jupiter-Neptune contact was discussed in Jupiter Conjunct Neptune in Aquarius in March, April, May, and June 2009.
Jupiter is now sandwiched between its previous conjunction to Pluto at the Galactic Center and its coming conjunction with Uranus. This is important for what we're learning of becoming our Highest Self from now through 2020. When you're done here, if you want to learn more, please visit Jupiter Conjunct Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus Effects - An Overview of How It Works. In that article you'll find a link to an article leading to more on the Galactic Center effect.
The importance of these conjunctions is amped up by the on-going Saturn opposition Uranus (as if we could forget!). Though separating for the first half of this forecast period, when Saturn goes direct and Uranus goes retrograde in May, they will again be forming an ever-closer opposition through September. While shifting between signs, they will continue to make various oppositions through June 2011.
This symbolizes the ongoing tension between forces of change and the status quo, between innovation and regressive crystalized approaches. This is where we're all learning discrimination and forgiveness, and how to balance works and faith. Most polarizations occurring right now involve elements of Virgo and Pisces. That's why if you're stuck in such a situation, it's best to use the qualities of Earth and/or Water you're good at to help achieve positive movement.
The Saturn opposition Uranus intensely focused September 2008, and continues to be a major polarizing force between late Virgo and late Pisces areas of our lives through October 2009 as well as in the Spring of 2010. When you're done with this article, you can find out more about how to deal with these energies by checking out Life Skills and Living the Higher Self - Resolving the Saturn in Virgo opposition Uranus in Pisces 2008-2009-2010.
The most important thing happening is that Jupiter is moving through the Aquarius zone of the Grand Irrationality from mid-April through August 2009. This promises an extremely potentous period where we shall further shape our destinies by the adventures and larger quests we open to, what we see of an integrated vision, and how we learn and demonstrate various management techniques in individual, social, mental, and emotional realms.
This Jupiterian expanding influence will prove important in the near future when Saturn re-enters its biseptile with Pluto and triseptile with Neptune in July and August. These long term occupations of the hot zones of the Grand Irrationality by outer planets sets larger patterns of change which are triggered when the inner planets move through the 7 zones of this configuration.
As I have noted in other articles, the Sun, Mercury, and Venus each trigger these long wave "forks in the road of destiny" for our planet and the human race, activating critical choices and changes 7 times a year. Venus triggered it on its stationary RX degree in early March, setting up that hot zone for activation as the other planets move over it, as well as when Venus and Mars again cross the zone in early and mid-May.
This adds even more importance for what we'll be experiencing through Jupiter's "light of experience" beginning May-June 2009 and becoming very intensified by July and August 2009 when 5 or 6 of the 7 pointed Great Septile Star will be active. The next article in this series will cover when the Grand Irrationality will be triggered in this time period.
These periods when The Grand Irrationality is activated get fairly wired and edgy, and people are stranger than usual, making crucial decisions whether they realize it or not. It's the obsessive-compulsive factors in people that make these times most difficult, since things make less sense than usual, which makes almost no sense at all. You can find out more about how to gracefully move through these regularly recurring periods at How To Deal With The General Weirdness of The Grand Irrationality.
Frictional aspects from planets to Pluto show us how to release seeds of fundamental purifying energies to be used demonstrating "economy of energy." Frictional aspects to Neptune help us release potentials of larger connectedness between us and the collective field in which we live, breathe, and have our being. Frictional aspects to Uranus help us revolutionize and renovate our lives, and individuate our expression to show our genius and unique qualities.
As noted, in this period we have many waxing aspects to the outer invisible Triad. Venus and Mars will lower square Pluto at the end of April and beginning of May, followed by semisquares to Jupiter and Neptune in the first half of May. This is frictional and releases many new forces showing us what we're making of our lives within the renewal period shown by the recent Aries New Moon.
When Venus and Mars square Pluto in late April and early May, dump corrosive, dishonest, or undermining relationships. If you cannot get free of people who are preventing you from getting concrete payoffs for your efforts, then get behind some inhibiting factor, be a good arbiter, and relate scattered interests to common ends.
Turn away from activities that are misdirected or waste time, energy, or money. See how that which his new has an unsuspected everyday value and usefulness. Stay balanced in your view of what's fair or not, and be sensitive to taking care of what you need while sidestepping arguments going everywhere and nowhere.
If you're wondering if this applies to you, look at where you're not getting the results you want, or where you're getting lost in loose ends. We can also end tapes in our subconsciousness from people who were like this in our past, and end patterns of liking that which undermines our efforts to capture what is pleasing to us.
We've been dealing with this since early February, when the first square from Venus to Pluto showed us a larger life on the way. This has required introspection work in March and April during the Venus RX period. This process completes itself by what is set into motion in late April when Venus and Mars conjunct first in late Pisces and commence their dance through Aries and Taurus in May and June.
April is directly related to early February. February began a period of trials moving us beyond the known and familiar as a result of the major reorienting decisions we made in 2008. This augurs the dawning of a new day, revealing a completely changed world. This begins the embodiment of new ideals, new images, new standards, and new icons on the world stage that will be solidified by early May.
After mid-May, Venus and Mars begin to make extraordinarily productive aspects to the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction and Pluto from late May through mid-June. Mid-June should prove exceptionally harmonizing since Venus and Mars also trine Saturn. This will help us in very practical worldly ways. Be your best self, take new initiatives, and by June they'll be fairly solidly established.
By late June, Venus and Mars square Jupiter and Neptune while sextiling Uranus. This will bring forth the new Aquarian vision or ideal through magnetism and what our hearts have held as important in our future, philosophy, or quest. All of these various influences taken together promise a very productive time of important changes and ideals beginning to come forth in concrete forms of interactivity.
Of course, the Sun and Mercury will make these Aries and Taurus aspects from now through mid-June. An extensive evaluation of this part of the cycle is beyond the scope of this article. That said, pay particular attention to what Mercury does in April.
Mercury will make all the aspects from late Aries through late Taurus during April. That will show the tendencies and ideas we will have to navigate as the Sun, Mars, and Venus do their dances between late April and late May. In April Mercury is heralding the aspects we'll all be dealing with in May and June.
On a final Mercury note, the last week of April Mercury makes its first pass through its retrograde zone in Taurus. It moves into Gemini in early May, going retrograde at 2 Gemini on May 6-7, 2009. It then retrogrades, moving back into Taurus on May 13-14, and stays in that sign through mid-June. It goes stationary direct at 23 Taurus on May 30-31.
I'll compose more about the coming Mercury retrograde in May 2009 in Gemini and Taurus soon. For now, I'll just say that major rewards are coming in June and July according to the personal worth we're cultivating in April and May. New relationships, and new ways of relating to existing relationships, will be featured throughout April, May, June, and July.

Wonderfully informative article, Robert. As always, I not only enjoy what you write, but learn from it as well.
Regarding the Mars-Venus meeting later this month in late-Pisces, will this conjunction somehow spotlight or bring to fruition events or activities began during that Feb/Mars 2007 time period since they'll be working together to trigger that March 2007 Solar Eclipse degree? One would imagine the Moon rushing through the following day to briefly join the pow-wow could also work as a trigger, yes? (as if Mars needs help being a trigger)
How might those two energies manifest? Mars usually "cuts" or brings some difficult-to-ignore event whereas Venus, I think, would be more supportive and smooth. What are your thoughts?
And, again, I'm really enjoying taking my understanding of astrology to a deeper level with the help of your site.

Thankyou Robert!
I am waiting patiently as I can for Mars and Venus to meet again(Literally!), as I have really suffered the intrusion of Saturn in the running of things. Hopefully, I have been patient enough and stayed away from self undoing behaviours by following the law of effortless action. However, the time may soon be here for more constructive and confident action that may be built on in the months to come....
Indebted to your ongoing reassurance and support

Hi there!! If I have misinterpreted in any way please let me know, but are we saying that after alot of introspection, "stagnent waiting" and seemingly being dropped off and disconnected for so long we are FINALLY going to start moving forward in a real way?!!!! I hope this wasnt wishful reading :)

Robert,
What I'm about to say is true about almost everything you write, but this posting truly mandates the following: this is worth meditating on - repeatedly. I'm totally experiencing some Venus Rx moments regarding old roommates (including the flaky Leo)... after having found a new roommate (on my birthday no less (new roommate is a Capricorn)), I promised myself to be 100% finished with these prior disappointments (some of my old roommates, as I now know, were corrosive influences). I'm glad to know to cosmos want the same!
Thank you!
Yours,
Matt
PS - My solar return chart showed that I am going to be extra-determined this year as the exact degree returned shows my natal Mars.

Good grief, there's more!
When friends or I whine, we remind each other that life is not about getting to this imaginary space of stability and sameness we say we want. We and it are ever changing. We are working with that acceptance. I guess it always was just that, moving, changing. We are more aware of it now. More alive. Were we lazy or does it just seem that way?

Robert do you watch crop circles? I notice a lot of astrological symbols there...
in July of 08 in fact there looks like a sabian symbol of the flying birds-
corresponding to the sabian degree of the solstice 08? What do you think?
pretty odd.

Hi duse - Yes, any time there's a significant transit over an eclipse point, it triggers those eclipse effects, in this case, through the combination of Venus and Mars. This can also be a point where those eclipse effects up to now took certain manifestations, and now they'll take different ones. Moon gives form to whatever it touches. I would think this conjunction will give a blending of Venus/Mars energies and further develop the values, resources, and actions required to bring the archetype into manifestation.
Hi Marie - Making Saturn our friend ensures that we'll have patience and persistence when we most need it. The rest is easy (even when it's not!) Saturn is the foundation for any long term constructive action.
Hi Stephanie - I would think that the "stagnant waiting" combined with introspection sounds like the Saturn in Virgo opposition Uranus in Pisces, which of course continues for a while to come. That said, as both Venus and Mars move through Aries and Taurus, we should see concrete new initiatives and the beginning of new developments in whatever house they're transiting in our chart, especially in May when Saturn again goes direct in motion.
Hi Matt - I agree that meditating on some of what I write can bring forth insights not evident on first glance. My approach is like that, whether in articles or personal sessions. And of course, repeat reviews also yield insights that help pull things together in a wider view as the tendencies develop over time. By now, with Venus direct, much in your situation has already developed in new ways. And yes, it does seem that your natal Mars will be the focus this coming year. Welcome to the tip of the spear!
Hi Victoria - There's always more!;-) I must admit that it's nice to catch a breather once in a while, even if it's only to pick up the journey anew after the potential in a situation is fulfilled. It's not laziness as much as craving for something we can rely on, when in fact the only thing we can rely on is our heart and mind as we move through space and time, processing experience and gleaning wisdom from everything. Then we drop the body, feelings, and mind, and live in loving connectedness until the next round of lessons here in matter.
Hi William - I have noted frequently that crop circles seem to be diagrams of our solar system, as well as distant star systems. I believe our friends from outer space are tying to let us know they're not the "blue meanies" that many paranoid 'Merikans believe. At least we know they have a sense of artistry! Not sure which Sabian Symbol you're referring to. I know of 12 Aries as mentioning flying geese and the seagulls of 16 Sagittarius. At the Summer and Winter solstice the Sun must be 1 Cancer or Capricorn, neither dealing with birds. Please elaborate, as what you're saying in intriguing. I'll take a look at the points in time you mention and see what comes up.

"This promises an extremely potentous period where we shall further shape our destinies by the adventures and larger quests we open to, what we see of an integrated vision, and how we learn and demonstrate various management techniques in individual, social, mental, and emotional realms." - This is what I have been seing at stake in my own life! How accurate!
Then, you say: "Frictional aspects from planets to Pluto show us how to release seeds of fundamental purifying energies to be used demonstrating "economy of energy." Frictional aspects to Neptune help us release potentials of larger connectedness between us and the collective field in which we live, breathe, and have our being. Frictional aspects to Uranus help us revolutionize and renovate our lives, and individuate our expression to show our genius and unique qualities."
THis, too, has become apparent in our lives as of late.
I do not know whether to be hopeful about being able to better express my potential and being released from some old burdens...
Big thanks,
Namaste

Hi Isabel - Why not be hopeful? Evolution is a one-way street, and we certainly control what direction we're going and who we're going with. The trick is to enjoy the ride, with all the bumps, twists, and turns. Usually we don't know we've arrived at our destination until after we move through strange scenery....
