Gemini T-Squares to Saturn Opposition Uranus in June, July, August 2009 - Pt.1 - The Sun

Over the next 12 weeks the inner planets will all make T-squares to the forming Saturn opposition Uranus. These will help integrate and release the sign energies involved wherever these fall in our charts. For some, dynamic change and release. For others, difficulty from a lack of focus.

The Saturn opposition Uranus is a powerful energy showing the on-going polarizations in the world, as well as any equally powerful oppositions in our own lives. This is a long term energy that is showing us how to organize our genius, or special qualities, in a responsible form we may use in our world. It is also showing us necessary confrontations, where we craft our lives to align with our Higher purpose.

This opposition will continue in Virgo and Pisces through October, and re-form in those signs one last time April-May 2010. As the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars all transit Gemini they will first square Saturn, then square Uranus. This will act as a "one-two punch" to move any stagnant energies into liberating directions. During this time when the Moon is in mid-to-late Gemini, it will bring reflections and/or nurtured forms of whatever the opposition symbolizes in the life.

Obviously, these strong forces of the squares will put the brakes on some things even as other directions are shown. Squares release powerful energies along the lines of "shifting quadrants," thus precipitating changes in view and ways of expressing the planets in those signs. In this set of T-squares, the voids will be in mid-to-late Sagittarius, showing the potential problem and/or solutions. Study the qualities of Sagittarius if you want to know how to be or act if the times of the squares bring challenges.

It will most affect those with planets or sensitive points around the degrees in square. The Sun initiates the sequence with its square to Saturn on June 5-6 at 16 Gemini to Virgo. This is a moment to be alert and ready to act by throwing off lesser limits and duties to embrace a new inspiration. The T-square is complete when the Sun squares Uranus on June 17-18 at 27 Gemini to Pisces. This will release the seeds of our "sculptor Self," or creative individuality, originally planted when Pluto activated this degree in our charts between Feb 2006 and Dec 2007. Find your genius and act on it!

On a technical note, this is an example of a "time lag" T-square, where the energies are said to be "collected" by the Sun which links everything together. Though the opposition is very wide at that time, it still functions as a T-square due to this astrological principle called "collection of light." "Collection of light" also has other applications in chart interpretation, but that's beyond the scope of this article.

The Solar T-square will most affect those with planets at 14-18 and 25-29 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. That particularly affects those born 1945-mid-1947, late 1949-1950, Spring-Summer 1951, 1958, 1965-1971, mid 1979-83, 1985-1988, due to these groups having a major planet affected in their charts. These squares also affect those born in the second or third weeks of March, June, September, and December.

Hmmm. With my Uranus Gemini 27°46'21 in house 2 Robert... I will look forward to something interesting. I think with Jupiter in-trine with my Uranus and Saturn-in trine with my Sun, June might be full of "good changes!" I think I'm taking this as a harbinger of the epic grand cross Saturn will ignite in my chart when it enters the last few degrees of Virgo and when in early Libra. The next few years should be fun, and in the very least, productive!

Hi Jan - The Aquarius stellium should be very obviously working well with your Uranus. Saturn trine the Sun is very stabilizing. You are benefiting through Libra areas, as well as the void trine resonating a subtone with the Saturn-Sun trine.

Hi Matt - I may compose something on collection of light (if I remember) after I get off the road. It's probably more for students than the general public. And I did just find a webinar provider, so when I'm back in a couple of weeks, I'll begin to develop classes for those who are interested in going the next step.

so if my natal sun is 15 degrees virgo, but i am born in 1956, how does this T square affect my chart. is this the beginning of the Grand Cross you spoke of in my reading?

seems as if everything in my life has stalled, fallen apart and is now in a state of suspension.

Hi Christine E - Given that Uranus has been camped out on your Sun, it's no wonder that your chart is being lit up! When Saturn opposes your Sun from this Summer through next Spring, expect major relationship developments. 38 is the "crisis of change," so ride the waves for all they're worth. Let go, eliminate to regenerate, and see the new revelations of who you are and who you're not. In any case, DO what you must to further the vision or promise of 2008.

Hi Shanita - Well, Mercury has been RX, so ultimately things may not turn out as they seemed even a week ago. Saturn sitting on your Sun may make things seem slower than usual, but from here you go on. The coming Full Moon will throw things forward. You can bet that within two weeks you'll understand a lot more, and many things will be stabilized in ways they weren't before now. FYI, you've actually got TWO Grand Crosses going on now, one in Fixed signs (thanks to Mercury in Taurus followed by Venus and Mars squaring the Aquarius stellium) and one in Mutable signs at the coming Full Moon. Though many things will be fractured, and even seem like stuck forces are opposing each other, this will pass soon and much debris will be swept out of your life. With the Spiritual challenges you've accepted, it's no wonder that many things must pass away to create voids so that new energies can present themselves.

Hi Shanita - Given the "final testing" you're going through, it's no wonder things are somewhat accelerated. The dis-integration of the old always is a prelude to a new order, even if we're somewhat insecure in the transition zones. This is the moment to focus on some of the principles I had you study as a beacon to move through the changes and the stillness.
