Continuing yesterday's theme, today we discuss more about Mars' influence on various signs in the weeks to come. As Mars usually brings agitation and edgy interactions, it's not really a harbinger of good things, though what it does offer can be quite exciting.
If you haven't read yesterday's post, please read that one before reading this one, since it lays out the primary influences for the very dynamic conjunctions, squares, and oppositions that Mars makes with most of the signs. In fact, it seems that no sign is entirely spared the Mars stress influence over the next 8 weeks, while some signs will be affected in major ways due to Saturn, Uranus, and the Grand Irrationality.
The quincunx effect significantly influences 23-30 degrees of Libra and Sagittarius the first 12 days of July, 1-7 degrees of Scorpio and Capricorn between July 12-22, and 7-14 degrees of Scorpio and Capricorn between July 22-31.
The first week of August, Mars triggers quincunxes at 14-19 Scorpio and Capricorn, while the second week brings quincunxes to 19-24 Scorpio and Capricorn. The 3rd week of August, 24-28 of those signs, and from August 21-25, 28-30 degrees of those signs. Quincunxes are associated with physical, emotional, or mental health issues requiring sacrifices and adjustments.
Thus the first 12 days of July most impacts Libras born 3rd week of October and Sagittarians born the 3rd week of December. The rest of July most affects Scorpios born in October and early November, as well as Capricorns born in December and early January.
The first two weeks of August most impacts Scorpios born the second week of November and Capricorns born the second week of January. The 3rd and 4th weeks of August will most affect Scorpios born the 3rd week of November, and Capricorns born the 3rd week of January. Of course these are approximate. Please make an appointment with your favorite professional (or even amateur) astrologer to get more specific information about your personal situation.
Through the quincunxes, Libras and Scorpios will have sacrifices and adjustments in the areas of loss, regeneration, shared values and wealth. This helps Libra learn what to eliminate from their lives on every level, as well as a larger vision of what they need to learn or a quest they need to accept. They will also learn to see how they are creating sorrow for themselves, and have an opportunity to close out old ways with compassion for who is undermining what.
This also helps Scorpio to let go of obsolete considerations and views, as well as plans that that cannot bring them what they want. There will be lessons of adjusting how to communicate, as well as opportunities to take initiative into pioneering realms, actions, and relations. Both signs will learn how to get their magnetism and desires straightened out and eliminate that which cannot be carried into a future already taking shape.
Sagittarians and Capricorns will have sacrifices and adjustments in the areas of work, health, and those they do service for or who do service for them. This will prepare them to deal with those who serve them, or those they serve in the realm of what needs to be done, from a balanced perspective. New working initiatives are indicated.
Sagittarians can learn a more balanced view and a greater ideal in who they call friend and how they relate to them. They can also learn a new sensitivity to what they truly care about and why they can be so touchy at times.
Capricorns can learn a greater intensity of focus and concentration, as well as see what is not needed or obstructing their ambitions. Other areas of growth are showing more heart, and seeing how to be more creative, playful, and spontaneous. Both signs will learn to adjust to necessities in simple effective ways, and prepare for that which is surfacing in their lives.
The first 12 days of July, Aries born the end of March and first 5 days of April, as well as Cancers born the end of June and first week of July, are extraordinarily affected by the Mars semisquare to their Suns. As with all aspects, these are general zones of influence. Your individual birth chart may show some variation to what is written here.
From July 12-19, the semisquare primarily affects Aries born April 4-9 and Cancers born July 6-11, and July 19-26 affects Aries born April 9-14 and Cancers born July 11-16. July 26-August 2 the Mars semisquare effect most impacts Aries born April 15-20 and Cancers born July 16-22.
From August 2-10, Mars semisquares the Suns of those Tauruses born April 19-24 and Leos born July 22-27. From August 10-17 it impacts Tauruses born April 24-29 and Leos born July 27-August 1, and August 17-25 it affects Taurus born April 30-May 5 and Leos born August 2-7.
The semisquare is a 45 degree aspect indicating internal crises of direction, or a sense that something is beginning to open (or close) with decisions to be made. They show important factors regarding things that are emerging or ending, and offer information about hidden or unconscious influences at work.
For Aries and Taurus birthdays mentioned above, new developments and challenges in the cycle that began May-June 2009 don't have to be a problem if you become more open, optimistic, and take a future oriented larger view of your values and relationship to things and money.
Cancer and Leo people with birthdays mentioned above need to end some things they began between mid-April and early June 2008, so capture the harvest and close out what you need to without getting aggravated at friends or the goals that you couldn't fulfill. If this applies to you, you're entering a fallow period where you'll need to do closure rituals, preparing for a new cycle to come starting September through November 2009.
This period is directly related to the process of ending some activities and seeing them in the broader context of your life story as a "hero's journey." Leos will hit a threshold in December, and will have to slow down, rework some things, and prepare to move forward in March 2010.
For Aries, they concern your self image, way of relating to your physical body and sense of distinctiveness, as well as ways of what you desire and how you view shared resources and societal values. For Taurus, these inner crises of emergent action involve your motives, your partnerships, how you bring things from the past to a close, and can bring understanding of broader themes in your life.
For Cancers, the focus is on your profession, public standing, spontaneity, self-expression, and children. For Leos, it's about preparing for a new future, or a form of higher education, travel, or activity with home and family.
Perhaps the greatest influence of Mars during these weeks is during the time it's in the Gemini zone of The Grand Irrationality around July 17-24 just as the Sun transits the Cancer zone of the pattern. That activates 5 points of the 7 pointed Star pattern, setting some very powerful energies into action, bringing us all to another set of "forks in the road of destiny."
This is the next stage in the long term lessons we began to learn, and responsibilities we began to embrace, when Saturn entered the Virgo zone last September. The transit of Venus and Mars through the Gemini zone with Mercury and then the Sun moving through the Cancer zone begins several weeks where this configuration is in motion in a big way!
Think Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto all anchoring 3 zones in the Grand Irrationality as the inner planets move through the Gemini and Cancer zones between late May and late August. This will keep our charts lit up like pinball machines, especially between July 9-23 and August 15-29 due to the Moon and Ascendant also constantly activating those zones as well as the voids.
Every time a planet moves through any of the 7 zones of this on-going long wave configuration, it triggers choices and changes as we confront an "intersection of fate and free will" at a "fork in the road of destiny." I'll write more about this upcoming period in an article to come very soon, and you can find out more by going to the above link and other articles in the archives!
This is the next step for what was triggered in May when Venus and Mars moved through the Aries zone. That launched a fairly irrational new world for many, and as usual, major obsessive-compulsive behaviors dominated affairs. During this time when the Gemini and Cancer zones are stimulated, things won't make much sense, but they don't have to.
This is the next turning point of choices and changes on what launched in May, so see what's emerging and be willing to act, quickly and definitively, on whatever has been opening in your life. Given the Cancer trines to Uranus, a stable understanding can be found through elimination and regeneration. As planets move through Leo, major realizations can come forth regarding whatever vision or group effort was indicated last January-February 2009.
Ultimately, since the Grand Irrationality is triggered by planets transiting early Gemini, these forks in the road lead to emergent shifts when these planets square Saturn shortly after. These "hard shifts" are followed by the very favorable Air trines from Gemini to Aquarius, opening a new ideal, rhythm of existence, or archetypal form that can help us reconstruct areas of our lives.
Just remember these also form waxing squares to Uranus in late Pisces, which can lead to very dynamic events that move us in different directions. More about how these squares to Saturn and Uranus operate to release strong energies can be found in the article How Various T-Squares to Saturn in Virgo-Libra Opposition Uranus in Pisces-Aries in 2010-2011 Will Work.
Saturn is now moving into closer orb of its opposition to Uranus. This will increase the larger tensions and polarizations shown by that opposition. Find the highest way to deal with the polarizations this indicates, and remember what you stand for that can serve as an example to others in the future.
As planets move through Cancer, we can resolve the oppositions by organized, disciplined, mature group activity. However, when they move through Leo, they quincunx Uranus while opposing the Aquarius stellium, which can create the need for adjustments using the skills just mentioned along with a balanced way of approach.
Major Water and Air trines will dominate July, giving more mental and emotional substance to new initiatives that were grounded in April and May. Venus and Mars will continue to give substance to these energies from August through mid-October even as other planets conjunct Saturn and oppose Uranus. We are all moving through critical forks in the road where we're making choices that will profoundly affect our futures.
Of course, all of this is showing us how to fulfill the wisdom lessons introduced at the 2009 Wesak Festival, which began to be distributed as a form of a "world teaching" throughout the next year at the recent 2009 Christ Fest.
So heads up at the choices coming in mid-July and mid-August, as well as when Mars makes the Mutable T-square with Saturn and Uranus during the second and third weeks of August. Those squares will begin several weeks of intense polarizations and hard adjustments.
Many of the forks we confront in the next 3 weeks will become our future when Mars moves through the Cancer zone of the Grand Irrationality this coming October. Again, I'll write more about this in the near future.

Weird stuff happening. HUGE mistake on my taxes, a speeding ticket for the first time in ten years, a sense of agitation unlike any I have felt for aeons. It is as if each time I take a step, it is into a fire ant bed. At this point I just want to stay in my cave, but I know that is not good for me. I am retired and isolated enough. With both Saturn and Uranus in my natal Taurus approaching opposition , and with Saturn in my Asc as well, I expected a kind of Push-Me/Pull--Me effect, but not this agitation. Should I just keep doing the fire ant dance and medicate the bites later? I just can't ditch the scattered feeling of disarray. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Anne

Now might be a good time to say that I love July. For this Libra, July has always been a month of open-doors and excitement.
Glancing over at the other signs, well, you're right. Some Scorpions I know are in the middle of a serious fork in the road. So are Capricornians. And as for Leos... Well, there was a Leo in my life that caused a couple of inexplicable but serious eruptions not too long ago. This person followed-up with very obsessive behaviors. Took me about three years to tell her to back off (which hurt a lot to do). I was tired of being the "nice guy", only so much I can handle. I just wish her the best, now, and hope that I don't have to deal with her shenanigans, again.

I am inclined to agree Warrior Lady, there does seem to be a kind of a reprieve without too many of the usual struggles... and things going a little too warily my way! Warily because I know this is always subject to change but with the right attitude hopefully results will usually be good in one form or another. A July wedding this Friday for friends of mine, I am happy and nervous as I overstepped their boundaries in their home, a while back and am now forgiven and even have a date for this wedding ( I am usually going to them alone). It looks like happy endings all round...and fresh beginnings!

Hi Robert!
I didn't see anything related to what's affecting those of us who are in the third week of March. I'm March 23 and seems the article information doesn't hit me directly, but I'm thinking there is some ebb & flow from the indirect tides. Is that so?
You're awesome!

This March 20th birthday is curious about that, too. :^)

Hi Robert,
Its indeed a different season amongst others. I have a doubt on my 12th house Sun. I am a Libra Sun(12th house) with Scorpio ascendant(first house). I am little worried that though Saturn is transiting my solar 12th house now, again it would be in my natal 12th house after a few months, the house of endings. Likewise, Pluto restructuring my solar 4th house will be continued by natal 4th house visit. That seems to be a looonnnggg restructuring process and quite worried. Does this mean that starting all over again will happen frequently ? Any light on this would help. For a person who is seeing a fork in the road to be taken, I wonder if things would settle down atleast in couple of years.
Thanks as always and grateful that I found your site.

Ciao Robert,
Are you ever sooo right...
No vacation for me this year: work is over my head (1967 cancer sun, leo asc., moon in taurus, mars in libra, and so on...) ! I never thought this would have been possible two years ago !
And believe me I am not complaining, I'm very happy about it.
I hope that what will follow will make me grow even more.
Many many thanks.

Dare I admit that I used to suffer from the "Al Bundy" mentality? You know, Al Bundy from "Married with Children"? Mr. A-smooth-and-wonderful-flow-indicates-all-the-reason-in-the-world-to-worry?
Most of that mentality is gone, now. Heh.

Hi AnneTexas - Agitation? Uranus is dancing in semisquare and septile to your Mercury and Sun, while exactly septile your Venus and Saturn! Plus the stellium in Aquarius on your Mars is helping you be more aware of collective consciousness, and heal how your express your Mars, which is opposed your Moon, meaning many things. Saturn trine the whole schmear should have stabilized your life the past couple of years. The opposition in September should be excellent for eliminating what is no longer a valid part of your existence.
Hi WarriorLady - Things on the top of your solar chart are usually good for having a big time! Leo has had the Aquarius opposing them, with Uranus quincunx late Leo and Pluto quincunx and Saturn semisquare early Leo. I agree that we should not allow our kindness and compassion to be mistaken for weakness. As for worrying about things that can't be solved by your worrying, it's very good to cultivate an attitude that the other shoe has already dropped, and that certain karmas are done forever.
Hi Marie - Well, hassles that spur us forward come in many forms, some of which force us to relax and slow down (he says nursing a sprained ankle and cracked bone!) Glad all's well that ends well concerning your friends. Blessings on your friends' marriage. Mazel Tov! (Fortunate constellations!)
Hi Joanne and duse - 3rd week of March was covered yesterday, except for early Aries who are affected at the end of August. I'll be writing about that in a few weeks, since it'll be March Aries point of a new emergent reality based in what began in late April or early May.
Hi Mary - Things have been ending for you for some time, but also it's been a time to understand your life from a broader perspective. You're closing old motive and learning new ones through Divine Discrimination. Accept the endings, since they portend new beginnings more appropriate to your experience and maturity.
Hi alessandra - Work is always a good thing, since it's much better than no work! Glad you're accepting it in good cheer. As we embrace the quest for the Higher Self, then the Way becomes evident!

Thanks Robert, don't know how I'd be doing without your insight.
You can feel it coming it wakes me in the middle of the night. Sometimes it comes with joy and excitement, but mostly fears and worries gnawing at my psyche. The changes are becoming much more tangible and rapid. I’m watching many people blossom into their next faze and so many melting down, with the general being a little of both.
Dreams have become more vivid and more detailed than I remember and some mornings I awake exhausted from the work I’ve been doing all night asleep. Plateaus sometimes appear and I look out at my journey and all those relationships and I want to move far away and start all over again.
Not really, but the issues that I work to heal have become more than burdensome and I want to let them all go. I long for an apathetic state where I might segue into real non attachment.
I’m wishing it were easier somehow, or more clear as to the direction to move.
My spiritual practice isn’t sustaining me at this time and so I neglect it.
As I write these words I am reminded of this feeling before every major change in my life. So I’m really wondering what is coming next.
I have to remember that I am part of a collective consciousness and what is happening to me, is happening to all, otherwise the ego would wallow in isolation.
The energies are really thickening now. It’s like they are bubbling up from some deep vast reservoir of internal log jams longing to break free. What I need to let go of has me in its death grip. Awakening again, this time at 3:58, with anxiety worms crawling around in my stomach……egads, I am getting a little tired of this. Looked at those old familiar faces that like to haunt me in the night and decided to do a little EFT, which certainly helps, but then I’m awake and wondering what this time is now good for. Turned out I had a nice little therapy session with myself and feel pretty good this morning. At least laughing at the need to worry about things that are out of my control. Breath in, breath out, enjoying the beauty of a cool woods in early morning and feeling Autumn in the air already……….so soon.
Well, guess I needed to vent this morning, hope you don't mind the long post.

Hi all - A few more insights, from the top.
Hi AnneTexas - Disarray is a prelude to a new set of structures. Saturn is assisting you when you pay attention to how you're being educated. Jupiter is teaching your Mars new tricks. The current Cardinal T is kicking off a new line of evolutionary development that will become much clearer by your next birthday.
Hi WarriorLady - Sounds like your Libra Light learned a lot about friendship through Leo, your Solar 11th sign. While peacemaking is a good thing, speaking as an Aries, so is forthrightness! Glad you're not sweating illusions any more!
Hi Marie - Still feel the same way now that we're entering the Cardinal T in late August?;-) Glad you went through a period when lots went your way. Good for regenerating spirit!
Hi Joanne and duse - People born in the third or fourth weeks of March are about to be profoundly affected by Mars' transit in late August and early September.
Hi Mary - Actually, it'll be more like a constant check in to see how the long range restructuring is working. The most intense times will be when transits make aspects to your Sun. Saturn in the natal or solar 12th is great for seeing your dharma from a wider angle. Endings, but also harvests. By the time it crosses your Sun, you'll be receiving exactly what you deserve for long term discipline and perseverance.
Hi alessandra - Yes, work can be a very liberating thing! You should continue to do well for some time to come.
Hi Sue Moon - I assume you've moved into a new space by now. Non-attachment comes by practice, and is never apathetic. Indifferent to externals, perhaps, but detachment is a constant discipline that makes a being feel truly alive and connected with the eternal. Aum indeed!
Hi Joan - Happy birthday and Solar return! Glad Sue Moon's post could resonate with you. That's the way it is with kindred Souls who gather here.
Hi Morvah - Thanks for your sensitivity, clarity, and support. As I emailed you, I welcome it when this community cares for each other. Kiss the magic isles for me.

Thanks for both comments Robert!
Good of you to recheck,,,as yes my feelings, at least have changed somewhat! Whilst ever appreciative of the recent boosts I recieved,,, the anxiety as ever returns. This is, hopefully, as you describe , a time of breakthrough. I need it badly in order to give birth to what has been gestating. I was merely distracting myself with the delights of Summer. So back to the grindstone:)))
Thanks
Love and Peace, Marie
