In part 1 we explored some basics of the coming Lunar Eclipse. So what else can we expect from this July Full Moon Eclipse? For all, exercise, group training, and the need for more physical activity as we do personality integration practices. For some, immature impulsiveness and reverting to root patterns that should not be perpetuated, while for others, a robust enthusiasm as we figure out what's coming, what's going, what's sustaining, and what our Truth has become.
So that you may prepare, in North America the Lunar Eclipse will begin in Maui late July 6 with 30 Pisces on the Ascendant. For the rest of the world, the event is on July 7, where we find 23 Taurus rising in Santa Monica and 1 Gemini rising in Vancouver, and 9 Cancer rising in Washington DC at 5:21 am EDT. We find London will have 13 Virgo rising at 10:21 am, Amsterdam has 17 Virgo rising at 11:21 am, Tallinn has 1 Libra rising, and Johannesburg has 6 Libra on the Ascendant.
Moving through the afternoon into the evening, Istanbul has 4 Libra rising at 12:21 pm, and New Delhi has 17 Scorpio and Trivandrum 23 Scorpio rising at 2:51 pm IST. Bangkok has 12 Sagittarius rising and Tokyo has 7 Capricorn rising. In Perth, Australia, we find 16 Capricorn rising at the eclipse moment while 2 time zones later in Melbourne we find 13 Aquarius rising at 7:21 pm.
The Eclipse forms a sextile and trine to Saturn in mid-Virgo and a quintile and tredecile to Uranus in late Pisces. So if we have planets in the middle or later degrees of Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces we should have very productive and even unique events resulting from the Eclipse.
That said, given that Mars is making an exact square to Jupiter, Neptune, and Chiron in late Aquarius, anyone with planets in late Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius will experience very dynamic changes. Obviously that puts late Leo and Scorpio as symbolic of the problems and/or solutions.
As has frequently happened the past few years, this Eclipse features a dramatic See Saw pattern, with 5 planets plus Chiron in an 85 degree span from 2 Capricorn to 27 Pisces in opposition to 5 planets between 27 Taurus and 18 Virgo. The Full Moon creates the axis of opposition, but as it's virtually non-afflicted and making many favorable aspects, this should overall be a good two months.
The See Saw cautions us not to get marginalized or out on the periphery of things, and find a whole view to any opposition that can include both views and more. It gives an excellent ability to learn how to triangulate, as well as find ways to "draw a bigger circle" around any opposing forces that encompasses both phases of the polarization.
Saturn and the Moon are rulers of this eclipse, and are in trine. This very favorable harmonizing and stabilizing factor makes for lots of understanding and unobstructed works. The Moon, ruler of the Sun, offers us a chance to use physical exercise to stay in shape on many levels. Saturn is helping us complete our understanding of how to use our inner guidance to get educated in how to act on the venerable standards we've been discovering the past 6 months.
As the Moon is in the Scene of Group Performance on the initial actional degree, you can bet that our Saturn will be "exercised" in ways that help us realize the "inadequacy of past knowledge" to meet new life conditions, and show us how to purify our ego mind and its perceptions and interpretations.
The Moon makes a wide sesquisquare to Venus and wide opposition to Mercury. These are agitating and awareness-producing, and we may find that new Cancerian forms are directly challenging old Gemini or Virgo forms in those areas of our charts.
Because the Moon is novile the Aquarius stellium, expect major revelations at the end of a long cycle connected to our commitments, our ability to heal into our Higher Self, and the collective consciousness. Many things will come forth at the end of an old set of cycles that we in suspension or a form of exile before now.
Of course, as with all Solar and Lunar Eclipses at this time in history, Neptune and Pluto continue to exert a powerful influence as "The Grand Irrationality." I'll compose more on how this will influence all of us over the next several months in the near future.
Pluto leads the occupied pattern. This shows we must demonstrate economy of energy and embrace larger purification practices to organize how our Soul embodies its truth in practical activities. This will bring forth seeds of new experiences, new duties, and new authorship in public ways over the next 2 months as indicated by the eclipse duration.
So the primary irrational influences stem from the continued Neptune septile Pluto, combined with Jupiter and Chiron also in the Aquarius zone of the Grand Irrationality. The lack of inner planet activity in the pattern is only brief, since we have Sun, Mercury, and Venus coming on strong over the next few weeks. As these move through the Cancer and Gemini zones of the Grand Irrationality, the entire pattern will be triggered. More to come in future articles.
Since this eclipse influence only lasts through early September, you may expect significant signs and signals related to the eclipse lessons as Mercury and Venus make their conjunctions to the Cancer Solar point in the eclipse pattern opposing the eclipse Moon. This should bring effects to the fore fairly quickly.
In part 1 I promised I'd explain why some signs will benefit more than others. As I noted,
It is sure to dynamically affect anyone with an Ascendant or planets between 13-19 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, and provide productive opportunities and understandings to those with planets in the same degrees of Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces. Those with an Ascendant or planets in the late degrees of any sign will benefit greatly from the changes over the next two months, as will those with occupied points around early Taurus, early Gemini, early Scorpio, and especially mid Pisces.
It is obvious that those with planets throughout the Earth or Water signs will profit by the favorable sextiles, trines, quintiles, and tredeciles made by Moon, Mercury, Sun, Mars, Saturn, and Uranus. Also positively affected are people with points between 22-29 degrees Aries, Gemini, Libra, and Sagittarius continue to be favorably stimulated by the stellium in Aquarius.
As for other sectors, planets in early Fire and Air signs are favorably aspected by Venus, with many quintiles and tredeciles made to points in early and mid-Gemini, mid-Leo, early and mid-Sagittarius, and mid-Aquarius.
In Part 3 we'll explore more about the qualities of this Lunar Eclipse, which indicate that we'll definitely be exercised in ways that show us how our personalities are integrated or not. We'll be able to get new inspirations, as well as offered opportunities to put on a demonstration of some sort, or convince some person or group of something that arouses them out of complacency.
Other factors coming forth the next two months include chances to "commune with accumulated race power," "deep vibrant realizations," "reinforcement of faith which can open up a new environment," and "a revision of ideas back to source." Closures will be very productive during the next two months, as will understanding how what's going on is related to the generic human condition.
All in all, a most productive eclipse. Now the coming Solar Eclipse is another story entirely, since it puts the Grand Irrationality in play in a major way while shutting down elements of our past we've been trying to perpetuate that no longer give us the nourishment we want or need. Family systems and other elements of our past will disintegrate as we fulfill the promise of whatever personality integration we're striving for. More on that in a week or so!

Very exciting to have so much good fortune to look forward to---and, I appreciate learning as we go, Coach! Looks like my chart for the 7th is "sweet!" And I hope it carries me past the 21st disharmonies.

Robert,
I may have missed this in the article, but what orb do you use when establishing if a planet or personal point is being affected by an Eclipse?

Dear Robert, I appreciate your optimism but could you explain a little two of the side-effects of this flu on a higher collective plane: a collective suicide for some; and an even more intense isolation for others ?

Hi H - Glad to hear from you! The Sun on your Asc and Moon on your 7th should bring growth with others who are your natural balance wheels these next two months. The Solar Eclipse on your Asc will shut down an old self image and you'll glimpse new ones.
Hi Jan - Sure. Overall, this should be a good Lunar eclipse effect over the next 2 months.
Hi duse - I've not posted on orbs since it would be a very long and complicated article that only astrologers would care about. Generally, as I explained in another comment stream, it depends on what aspect is being made to what natal planet. Different aspects have different orbs, and the Lights have slightly wider orbs in general than the other planets.
Hi ejc - Optimism long term, heads up adaptability short term. I assume you're speaking of the swine flu epidemic? Given its likely origins, I believe it's associated with Saturn opposed Uranus. Our government is not our friend.....

Hi Robert:
For me, I always consider the key words for the decans at play. The middle decan of Cancer being ''revelation'' while the middle decan of Capricorn being ''martyrdom'' The full moon bringing the opposition to conclusion and full light. Could be read as: we may gain the awareness of the martyrdom types of energies within ourselves, we can confront them head on (consciously) for effective change while having the opportunity to shut down these old destructive patterns.
For me, its a 2nd-8th house eclipse. My Moon is in Capricorn conjunct Mars and Saturn. The stellium is placed 8-12 degrees Capricorn in the 2nd house. and no, it is not a fun conjunction to live with for an entire life time. It does make for good concentration however.
Kind regards,
Pamela

Hi Pamela - I agree the decans offer more texture to any interpretation of the signs. For readers who want to expand their understanding of Astrology I wholeheartedly recommend the source you used, The Encyclopedia of Astrology by Nicholas Devore. I found it in 1972 and it helped me understand a lot!
Other 2nd decan Cancer keywords: Resourcefulness, Energy, and Powerful Feelings. These are all associated with Scorpio decan influence.
Other 2nd decan Capricorn keywords: Dauntless, Indefatigable Effort Scaling Heights of Success. I give the quality of Persistent Determination to this Taurus decan of Capricorn.
One thing to remember is that some times things must die (be martyred) so that a new revelation is free to come forth on the ashes of the old way. That stellium could make you very famous and powerful in a public way. I'm sure you can use this brief and weak, but overall favorable eclipse to good ends, given your Capricorn stellium is much strengthened by Saturn and Uranus.
