For the next 10 days, we'll all be confronted with another integrated series of "fork in the road of destiny" experiences. As readers know, the entire world is operating within a larger energy field I have termed "The Grand Irrationality," which has been with us for a long time, and will be for years to come. During early October we have Venus in the Virgo zone and Mars in the Cancer zone setting things into motion across several areas of our charts.
I'll be composing more about the Grand Irrationality and when/how it works over the next couple of weeks as I post the Spiritual Astrology series for Oct, Nov, and Dec 2009. I'll also include some reference articles at the bottom of this post so you can get up to speed about this on-going pervasive irrational influence that seems to have put the entire world at a "fork in the road of destiny" for over a decade.
Briefly, the Grand Irrationality is anchored by Neptune septile Pluto. Septile series aspects are associated with non-rational conditions and experiences, when our own or others' obsessive or compulsive attitudes and behaviors often lead to very strange responses. When the septile series aspects are at work, things don't make sense, and we feel propelled by circumstances out of our control.
Whether we know it or not, crucial choices are confronted during the times these aspects are at work, and we experience shifts in what we're doing. These periods alter life directions, friendships, group work, and bring us to forks in the road of our lives, where we must choose a direction whether we want to or not, or whether it makes sense how we got there.
The Grand Irrationality is active all the time due to Neptune septile Pluto. It is specifically activated every time any other planet enters one of the zones of this "7 pointed Star pattern." So it's triggered at least 21 times a year by the inner planets, and 7 times a month by the Moon. Thus you can see it's active almost all the time, though some periods it's WAY more active than others due to specific transit points.
Right now is one of those times, since Venus is making its way through the Virgo zone the first week of October, and Mars makes it way through the Cancer zone during the first and second weeks of October. With the Moon moving through the Aries zone October 4 and the Gemini zone October 7-8, we will see some events that alter the course of many lives in big ways and small, depending on where these fall in the birth chart and what planets or points they may contact.
Right now the zones of influence are approximately 30 Sag-3 Capricorn, 23-26 Aquarius, 13-16 Aries, 4-8 Gemini, 25-29 Cancer, 16-20 Virgo, and 8-12 Scorpio. If you have a planet or point in these zones, you're going through major changes that get very strange from time to time.
Given that we'll have at least 3 and as many as 5 or 6 points active during early October, remember to surf the waves with style as you open, close, say yes or no to the forks in the road that are presenting themselves. This will most impact people with the above zones activated, and since Venus and Mars are involved, expect these choices to show up in how you're dealing with the Aries, Taurus, Libra, and Scorpio areas of your life, precipitated by events wherever you may have late Cancer, mid-Virgo, or wherever the Moon is at the time things are set in motion.
So if things seem a bit unhinged during the first half of October, or you're confronting things that make little or no sense, it's appropriate to the times. Of course, some compulsions are relatively harmless while others can do real damage, and when things or people are irrational, don't expect rational discussions or proceedings.
Possibly the most important thing to remember as we navigate these very strange time periods is that we can still be Wisely Loving and Lovingly Wise regardless or how strange or edgy people or circumstances get. And that even when things seem very weird and irrationality is in the air, we can center ourselves in the Wisdom, the Way, and the Community as we have defined these in our Spiritual lives.
Even if some element of these seems a bit wacky, we can still maintain our equipoise and be part of "the corrective force of Nature Herself," regardless of the strangeness of the times. And the times continue to get stranger and stranger indeed.....

Wisely loving & lovingly wise.. such a beautiful yin/yang, the only duality really. So I'm a Gemini, w/ a late Cancer Ascendant, Pluto in the first house & Mars 1 degree Scorpio. I am packing my stuff up, but don't know where I am going! I try to be rational with myself, but I can't stop. I listen to my Higher Self, esp in when in So Cal. I have spent time lately, looking online at possibilities. But now there is this urgency to it.. I have something in my jyotish chart too: shift to venus-moon-sun. Previously my dosha changes have brought forth big shift... I think i need an appt.. So much gratitude for your words, Robert. How was time with your Teacher?

LOL.
Oh, I love October. And I love coincidences-- just not ones pertaining to people I don't wish to see. People who have done nothing but attempt to pee on my parade. I wish them well but...
Could have been a Mercury stationing thing. If not, I'll have to get used to it.

Warrior lady, there is humor in your mystery.... whatever it is, it will pass. and yes,it could have been a Mercury thing. living well is the best revenge. ignore the party poopers, don't answer the phone if you don't feel like it. I know the feeling. it's the grand irrationality in all its irrational grandeur LOL :)

Hi all - I have also had several major "fork in the road" occurrences the past week. And the beat goes on...
Hi WarriorLady - Sometimes the only thing to do is move onward through the fog. And most definitely we should not indulge people who disrespect our altar.
Hi Deva - I've been using that phrase for over 30 years, so I'm glad it still finds resonance. Saturn waxing square your Sun the past year or so has brought you to the threshold of new beginnings. Mars is kicking much in gear between now and next March. As for time with His Holiness, it's always a joy to be reminded of core truths and meditate within such a huge energy field. I wouldn't exactly call him "my teacher," since I have been on assignment to many such great Beings and try to learn from all of them. We all can learn to serve the Masters, both those Arhats and Paramahansas in a body and those who are of the 5th circle who no longer need a body. Then we are guided to our community, regardless of individual differences in philosophy.
Hi Valerie - I definitely agree that living well is the best response to toads. And sometimes we must just say no until they get it.....
Hi Matt - Yes, recently I had to remember my own words when dealing with another's destructive obsessive-compulsive irrational nastiness. Generating bodhichitta as fast as I can.....
Hi Roo - 32 is about rewards and endings, while 33 turns us to deeper things. Pluto will be septile your Mercury and Sun for awhile, while Neptune will biseptile. Please re-read all you can about navigating the irrationality. It's like surfing. You must constantly shift balance so the waves don't throw you, and learn which of your own compulsions are harmless and which need transmutation. When confronting another's weirdness, don't take the bait.
You'll find new understanding, productivity, flow, and harmony beginning January, though with Mars about to square your Scorpio in November and again in Jan-Feb 2010, try to begin to simplify, enjoy, ground, detach, find a larger ideal and vision, and open to attracting new friends with whom you could focus your considerable genius. Feb begins more positive developments. More than this would require deeper chart analysis.
