The cycles of Saturn taken with progressed Moon cycles are crucial in showing us major emotional changes and how these affect our sense of purpose. Today we take a new look at these major astrology influences at work in everyone's charts throughout their lives.
It could be said that the progressed Moon prepares us for our Saturn shifts because major turning points in the progressed Moon cycle always precede Saturn's turning points. The Lunar Returns always precede the Saturn returns, as do the squares and oppositions to the natal positions in their respective cycles.
The Progressed Moon returns to its natal position every 27+ years, while Saturn returns to its natal position every 28-29 years, depending. It is important to keep in mind that we do start experiencing both of these influences well in advance of when they are exact.
These two planets symbolize the innermost and outermost experiences in life. The Moon shows us what we care about, what we know we need to nurture us and others, while Saturn shows our maturing sense of self and purpose born out of our direct experience. The Moon is our "shell of personality," while Saturn symbolizes both Dharma and Karma in all its forms.
In addition, the progressed Moon indicates how we're experiencing our life from week to week and month to month, while Saturn shows us (among other things) our security systems as well as our higher responsibility to ourselves and our world on our journey to Self-realization.
Being aware of the meaning of the emotional changes that precede shifts in our sense of purpose or ways of achieving security are crucial in learning to steer our ship of Destiny through the reefs of life's turmoils.
These articles help explain how these two crucial cycles work together to bring forth our greater purpose and Destiny. For your renewed consideration,

Hi Robert,
As it turns out I stumbled upon your attached two articles during this past week. For clarity, I don’t utilize astrology for prediction; I prefer to utilize it as I would a map for a trip, to plan a best route and utilize the inherent energies to my best potential. Admittedly, I have a long way to go on the learning path!
I happened to have had my second Lunar Return two and one half weeks ago; the moon was at the same phase and degree as natal at 11Virgo 22 degrees. I recall clearly the events of that day, because I deliberately set into motion a path I intend to see through to its conclusion. All in all it was a good and prosperous day; emotionally satisfying tasks implemented. So, if I am understanding your articles on this subject correctly, that Lunar Return (and the surrounding time) would be parallel to a rebirth of sorts, and are indicative of happenings involving my Saturn Return of 2014?
Thank you,
K.

Hi Robert,
Are you going to write about Saturn's new ring and what it means?
