This Full Moon falls at 10 degrees Aries-Libra, which fulfills the seed of the past Sun-Uranus New Moon in Pisces that was heavily influenced by the Grand Irrationality. This coming period will help us achieve new initiatives by giving new meaning to old "facts of life" while we find relief in having made it through some pretty exciting rapids.
This dynamic sifting and balancing Full Moon falls on 29 March at 7:25 pm PDT, 10:25 pm EDT, and 3:25 am 30 March in Greenwich. A quick look finds 13 Libra rising in Santa Monica, 8 Libra rising in Vancouver, 16 Scorpio in Washington DC, 10 Capricorn in Rio, 11 Capricorn in London, 15 Capricorn in Amsterdam, 25 Capricorn in Berlin, 27 Capricorn in Tallinn, 1 Pisces in Istanbul and 14 Pisces in Johannesburg,.
Moving into Asia and the Pacific, we find the Ascendants to be 12 Taurus in New Delhi, 5 Taurus in Trivandrum, 2 Gemini in Bangkok, 19 Gemini in Hong Kong, 19 Cancer in Tokyo, 29 Taurus in Perth, 21 Gemini in Melbourne, 4 Cancer in Brisbane, 16 Cancer in Wellington, and 9 Virgo rising on Maui.
Because the New Moon preceding the Full Moon always represents the seed forms that are brought to surface at and after the Full Moon, please check out The New Moon in Pisces - What's Happening March and April 2010? This article can help focus what blessings and seeds are being released in the world over the next two weeks.
This continues a pattern of the recent few months where the Full Moon falls in a different sign than the previous New Moon. This implies that this 2 week period of fruition of the seeds of the previous lunation in many ways anticipates what is to come. That is because the Sun sign of this Full Moon will also be the sign of the coming New Moon on April 14, 2010, at 25 Aries (which happens to be the Mercury of this Full Moon!)
This phenomenon of the Full Moon being in a subsequent sign than the previous New Moon indicates that what is released as realizations in the Full Moon period actually "prepare the ground" for the coming New Moon seed. Strange reversal of function, since you would think the New Moon provides the seed for the next Full Moon. But this set of lunations works the opposite way.
For astrologers who may be interested, we last had New Moons in the same sign axis as the subsequent Full Moon May 2008 through June 2009. Beginning July 2009 and lasting through September 2010, we have the Sun of the Full Moon in the sign following the Sun of the New Moon.
Another way to look at this is the Sun sign of the Full Moon is the same as and precedes the Sun sign of the next New Moon, reversing the usual way lunations work. So the fulfillment of the Full Moon sets up the next "seed" to be revealed at the next New Moon. We will again have the Sun of the New Moon in the same sign as the Sun in the following Full Moon from October 2010 through May 2012, after which it again reverses function.
This Full Moon falls at the 10th degree of Libra and Aries. It is said that the first third of any sign deals with the physical, material, and personal levels of life, and being the first decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Libra and Aries. Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take.
The Solar degree Sabian Symbol is "A man teaching new forms for old symbols." This is a degree of deep or abnormal understanding, and an "interpretive gift" helping us integrate the inner world of meaning with the outer world of form. Here we discover "a new dimension of consciousness" showing "higher possibilities of experience."
Rudhyar says this degree is one of "Abstraction" where we reformulate at a new level things we may have taken for granted before now. We are told that we can interpret images from our past as symbols with a deeper or wider meaning, yielding a "revision of attitude at the beginning of a new cycle of experience."
Dr. Jones says the keyword is INTERPRETATION and when positive it's said to be a degree of "an exceptional capacity for putting every part of an individual's heritage to work." So this Full Moon will demonstrate the light of our fulfillment on a social-emotional level showing us a higher symbolic way to view and interpret our past.
We are told this degree is one of "continuous rectification of understanding through direct... experience," bringing "inner realization into immediate and personal significance." We can find wisdom through how it is validated in our affairs, and can provide others "a momentary dramatization" of the phases of a larger reality."
The formula is Manipulating, Critical, Original, Specializing, Social, and Inspired. Rudhyar states the degree is in the Span of Realization, in the Social-Cultural level of Desire.
The Lunar degree symbol is "A canoe approaching safety through dangerous waters." This is a degree where we find "a sure destiny" through being rewarded for our sincerity and daring in reaching out to a greater life. We also are told it is a degree of "reliance upon skill and circumstances."
Rudhyar comments that this phase is where we find "the self-control and poise necessary to reach a steady state of inner stability." Here we can find relief through an inner revelation on a past "dramatic confrontation" that calms our mind.
Dr. Jones says the keyword is COMPETENCY and when positive it's said to be a degree of "conscious and skilled resort to the course of action which leads most surely to success." We find it is a degree where the risks we have taken validate our experience that refine our skills in everyday life. Here we can find forms of genius through "a fresh and constant participation in life's transient situations" that enable us to develop our powers.
The formula is Manipulating, Critical, Ingenious, Specializing, Social and Inspired. Rudhyar states the degree is in the Span of Expectation, and the Social-Cultural level of Transfiguration.
From these symbols it seems that for the next two to four weeks we can move into new understanding that shows the light of a greater symbolic reality revising our interpretations about many things in our past. We can find usefulness and meaning in the events of our past where we may serve a greater whole that needs to be reminded of that particular form of wisdom.
Here we illuminate and integrate a fulfillment of a level of life experience that shows a new way of feeling and relating in our life is already upon us. We can see the light of interpreting our past differently, reaching a new level of personality integration enabling us to play an expanded social role.
This Full Moon continues the Grand Irrationality energies of the past Full Moon, as Mars acts as a nozzle through its triseptiles to both Neptune and Pluto. I've addressed this in Mars in Leo Triseptile Neptune and Pluto Triggering the Grand Irrationality in February-March 2010. This continues the important choices and actions wherever Mars falls in our charts. Expect things to continue to combust into newer, more independent actions!
The major influence in this lunation is the Sun and Moon in wide but still powerful squares to Pluto in Capricorn. This T-square begins the stress to come this Summer when Jupiter is in Aries followed by Saturn in early Libra. This will be a time of major tension, conflict, polarization. As a T-square also provides opportunities for potential integration, clarify needs and which habits need to be adjusted in order to move toward what you really care about or what everyday life you want to live.
The next few weeks we'll all be able to express whatever "acme of being" we've achieved up to now, and see how the old life forms are giving way to new potentials, new social forms, and new ways of acquiring what we need. Adding to this T-square is the wide but powerful conjunction of the Moon and Saturn accenting the recent Sun opposition Saturn, all expressing within the context of the long term Saturn square Pluto.
Though separating, Saturn square Pluto is still in play on the larger level showing us recent shifts, endings, and challenges to find our Dharma. I've explained how this very powerful frictional aspect works in many articles over the past several months. If you're wondering how the Saturn square Pluto affects you, please check the archives to find out how various birthdays and generations are affected by this major aspect in play for many months to come.
The squares release energies, challenge us to "square" ourselves with our true Self, or create friction allowing us to turn critical corners in the areas affected by the square. This major square affecting the entire world is most dynamically affecting those with planets in early Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, as well as 16-21 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.
It will obviously most affect those born in late March, mid-May, late June, mid-August, late September, mid-November, late December, and mid-February. This aspect challenges us to bring bring new structure to our life and purpose while a larger disintegration is happening, get oriented to overcome any tendency to aimlessness or drifting, and by getting a profitable sense of direction, become a "pathfinder" or "one who shows the way" to others.
Also, though it's wide and out of sign, Saturn is getting closer and closer to its next opposition to Uranus, also explained in past articles. It's a powerful opposition of titans, so please go back into the archives of last Autumn to find out more about the next turn of the centrifuge that's returning to purify all of us yet another time over the next few months. The centrifuge is still spinning at very high RPMs!
Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Pisces leads the Sun, showing a continuation of closure of old ways of life and personality. We can all experience an emotional rebirth within a community context, with our needs taken care of in ways that are perfect for us.
Other aspects of importance are Mercury conjunct Venus both sextile Neptune (still conjunct Chiron) in late Aquarius. This is a very productive set of aspects that shows us what must be adjusted or sacrificed in May and June so our will power can work more effectively.
Other forming aspects include Moon quintile Mars sesquisquare Neptune, Mercury novile Jupiter (re-energizing the recent Venus novile Jupiter) forming a close triseptile to Saturn, Venus in an out of sign square to Mars, and Jupiter quintile Pluto. Other than these, there are no forming aspects in the chart.
Mercury conjunct Venus shows a fusion in the areas of our lives ruled by Taurus, Gemini, Virgo, and Libra. It indicates a probationary period of reshaping our mind and expectations, as well as the need to put a new light on old ideas while busting illusions.
To note, separating aspects show things that have already happened in the past, which is why I don't stress them in these lunation chart evaluations. Included among the important separating aspects are Sun-Moon both square Pluto, Moon conjunct Saturn, Sun trine Mars opposition Saturn, Mars sesquisquare Jupiter sextile Saturn triseptile Pluto, and Saturn square Pluto.
Mars rules the Sun in this Lunation while Venus rules the Moon. This indicates we now have a solid understanding of what inspiration needs to be introduced into our lives, as well as who we need to accept as part of our spiritual family and who doesn't fit our spiritual group purpose. Clearly there are past and future splits indicated by these factors affecting those with planets in late Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, as well as early Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.
Since this period continues a See Saw pattern, stay centered, and try not to get lost in the margins even while exploring the outer limits of the field. If you find yourself seesawing between views or energies, try to find the way to mediate between opposing views by finding the third or fourth points that harmonize the opposites.
Since this is the Light of Aries expressing through the forms of Libra, say hello to a new way of feeling and understanding that will express through refined, balanced forms. This is the beginning of a new era in all our lives, a transition period where we see the new powered up even as we say goodbye and/or forgive whatever you need to.
Of note is that Mars is in a degree of independence and a refusal to be bound by social or biological standards, indicating we can now transcend old limitations and show the world a newer, more "youthful" part of our Being. Through will power, we can re-create ourselves and become independent from previous inertias, causes, and effects.
Learn to fit things into a long range perspective, don't get deflected by momentary interruptions and distractions, and make sure you're using the right means to achieve your ends. There will be forks in the road to help us adjust to embrace our emerging archetypal Self. Whatever sacrifices must be made the next few weeks will assist the rapid development of that new archetypal Self this coming July and August.
So open to a renewal as things continue to quicken. Endings continue to clear the space for the new beginnings to come when both Uranus and Jupiter enter Aries in just a few weeks. Since Jupiter is in Pisces, appreciation and gratitude will go a long way to healing whatever needs healing as we find new ways of seeing our experience and expressing compassion.
This is a time of abundance, revolution, promise, and reinterpretation of old images, We can find relief from old perilous conditions, though old illusions will continue to be busted so the new archetype can continue to come forth. This is the time we've prepared for since last Summer. Enter the metamorphosis, emerge from your cocoon of Being, and finish up what needs finishing so that you can embrace the new way without the baggage of the old forms dragging you down.
Transfigured understanding and powerful new emergent possibilities are in the air. As with last month, now is the time to move into a more compassionate individualism while leaving behind all that is not true for us at the deepest levels of our consciousness. Blessings and protection are all around as we stand on the threshold of new beginnings that will grow in scope and depth this Summer.

Hi Robert...thanks a lot for this full moon insight. This full moon is kind of special for me, because I have my natal Pluto around 9 deg Libra and my natal Sun around 10 deg Libra. And, this degree also seperates the 11th and 12th houses. What could I expect for this full moon ? Thanks as always.

"This is a time of abundance, revolution, promise, and reinterpretation of old images, We can find relief from old perilous conditions, though old illusions will continue to be busted so the new archetype can continue to come forth. This is the time we've prepared for since last Summer."
Wow, I sure hope so, Robert. We have been waiting since last summer for some serious apartment repairs, and now our situation has reached a point where we're displaced and living in a temporary apartment because our real home is unlivable.
We don't want to be forced to move, because it is not easy for us to just commit to a new place to live. We love our apartment and hope so much that repairs will be made, soon, so that we can return home. And then, if we decide to move, we can have enough time to look at places and decide on a space that is right for the two of us.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Sometimes disasters have to happen in order for the repairs to be made, right?

I hope you are right there Warrior Lady. This full moon is again bringing disasters just when I thought I was safe!!!
People never fail to throw me. Again I don't know where it is headed and I'm trying really hard not to react now and refrain from taking score until I can see what's next.
There's always a NEXT!!!

Hi Robert,
Been going through some dramatic times the last years (in truth, the last 28) and am now pretty tired of seeing so much good effort generating so little results. This full moon conjoins my MC (with sun conjoining Saturn at IC) and I sincerely hope it will bring clarity and substance regarding matters of career/calling/vocation. Added bonus is a Leo Moon at 20 degrees.
Your thoughts on this are very welcome!

Robert:
Thanks as always for your insightful observations. We had 15 people in our home Sunday evening for the Full Moon Group. We had a lively discussion on the historical basis of Easter and the Gnostic interpretation of the Resurrection. Our cat, Princess Cleopatra, assured us that there really is something to the story of Isis, Osiris, and Horus. Oh, and about that Easter Bunny and colored eggs, I don't remember reading about them in the New Testament Gospels. Maybe the Goddess Ostara can help us out here. LOL. Please allow me to be one of the first to wish you a very happy Birthday, Mr Aries! And may you get a really big chocolate bunny.

Dear Dear Robert,
I welcome your readings like the spring welcomes the thaw. Thank you for your sign posts. It never fails to buoy my intentions when I get a marker for my path from you. Happy Easter, Passover or what ever pagan thing you may be into.
As for the post from Dcu above me, I am glad that you got the substantial news about the resurrection from Princess Cleopatra. Many, if not all, of our furry companions are well versed in the true nature of our world. Bless you holy Isis, reconstructor of Gods and worlds.

I'm trying to understand all of this! My granddaughter was born at the time you wrote this, I think! She was born March 29, 2010, at 8:23 pm....I think her moon is in libra (and it was a full moon, I think), but I can't figure out her rising sign...also it was the first night of passover...and my deceased mom was a libra....help....what does all this mean?
Posted by: abby | March 30, 2010 at 08:44 AM
I forgot to add that she was born in NJ, USA

Hey Robert,
The Full moon is conjunct my Asc-12 Libra....and my Venus 5 Libra/12th house. Pluto is currently sitting
on my Saturn in the 3rd/4 Cap...which squares my Venus. Interestingly an old flame has
found me through facebook, the past association was purely physical/short lived-on my part-due to fear
and I had no ability to communicate/hold strong boundaries..be true to myself. Im sure there is still much physical attraction, but now Im aware of my need to develop
depth, intimacy, closeness, before doing the "horizontal bop"... instead of being afraid to connect with someone.
A whole new expierence....

Hi Mary - Well, it puts the focus on your Libra planets. The house cusp difference is strictly a function of which system you're using, so your conjunction is associated with how those two areas of your life affect each other. Perhaps a form of protection could come forth, or maybe a new ideal of friendship.
Hi WarriorLady - I would think that as Mars continues to move forward many other things will finally happen that have been postponed since last Autumn. Don't know about tenant law wherever you are, but just about everywhere there are specific laws concerning landlords maintaining habitable apartments. Landlords who are reported to public watchdog agencies often do repairs pdq. And of course, a good tenant attorney will often get results very quickly, since landlords really don't want to spend money on a losing cause.
Hi Marie - Just remember we all are dealing with Saturn opposed Uranus for some time to come. And given that many lower egos are fragmenting it's no surprise that other things are falling apart as well. These are the times when we "prove" the worth of our spiritual practices, since when things are spinning out we can become our higher ideal to whatever degree we're able.
Hi Dirk_Anton - I also wonder from time to time why I chose to do or not do some things when it seems like they were more trouble than they were worth. However, remember that even though we may apparently "fail" at something, the creative imagination and tension of striving generates positive momentum, whether we see it at the time or not. This time is one of promise, with expansions to come shortly. And yes, things should jump start for you in the house your Moon is in, as well as the house where you have Cancer on the cusp when Mars moves over your Moon. Later this year your life and feelings should be stable.
Hi dcu - Happy Ostara to you as well! Was given some sugar free chocolates, so doing quite nice in that regard. And my Solar Return meditation was one of the best I've had in a long time....
Hi cheryl - Am into all celebrations that honor life, light, love and Divine Law (as well as Divine Grace, natch!) And yes, the local manifestations of Great Cat often grace us with wisdom if we remember how and when to pet the purring ones.
Hi abby - I also am trying to understand all of this, since it is after all a very big thing! Your granddaughter does have a Moon in Libra. The rising sign could be in the last half of Libra or early Scorpio, and if you want to know, there are many websites where you can get the chart computed for free. As for all possible meanings, that's way beyond a comment stream. It seems that there are many symbols and mysteries for you to explore.
Hi c - Happy time of rebirth! You should now be in motion to do well in this year to come. Hang in there, strong woman of power!
Hi Morvah - Since I was born the year of the Metal Hare, I figure the rabbit energy is mine this life. Just love those comfortable hutches with lots of escape routes! And there are many cactus wrens who have come to nest in my cholla, which is a good sign! Happy Oester to you as well.
Hi Wild Horse Running - This Full Moon should help you nurture your Asc/Venus, even as Pluto's long term influence helps you purify and purge any lurking fear or rigidity. I suspect that as Mars moves across your Asc/Venus this August you'll feel renewed in many ways.

Your insight on this full moon is . . . well, I find it incredible. Actually very credible. The summer is beyond me, but I guess I'll find out. That space you said to keep open, the technique is working.
