The New Moon falls at 26 Pisces on March 15, 2010, 2:01 pm PST, 5:01 pm EST, 9:01 pm GMT, and March 16 in Baghdad and points east. The New Moon conjunct Mercury and Uranus will shine a light of fulfillment on our unique ways of responding to Divine impulses, and many will learn the fallacy of authoritarian thinking. What we learn the next few weeks will become major life lessons beginning in May.
This is a very long article packed with a lot of valuable information, so if you're ready, let's go into the mystic!
The Lunation finds 24 Cancer rising in Santa Monica, 29 Cancer in Vancouver, 30 Leo in Washington DC, 24 Virgo in Rio, 28 Libra in London, 1 Scorpio in Amsterdam, 6 Scorpio in Berlin, 10 Scorpio in Tallinn, 20 Sagittarius in Johannesburg, and 24 Scorpio in Istanbul.
Moving into Asia and Oceana, we find Ascendants at 12 Capricorn in New Delhi, 21 Capricorn in Trivandrum, 13 Aquarius in Bangkok, 25 Aquarius in Hong Kong, 28 Pisces in Tokyo, 9 Pisces in Perth, 3 Aries in Melbourne, 11 Aries in Brisbane, 27 Aries in Wellington, and 13 Gemini rising on Maui.
This is the next in a sequences of New Moons that fall at the end of their signs and are followed by Full Moons in the next signs. It is also a phase of renewing the powerful energies of Uranus in Pisces, bringing that (now) year-long all-enveloping energy into new forms for this coming year.
This New Moon at 26 Pisces puts the focus on the collective consciousness (and collective unconscious!) and helps us do needed closure rituals to individualize into a more compassionate or feeling-aware form. As Uranus is in the sign of Neptune, and Neptune is in the sign ruled by Uranus, this New Moon will be heavily related to the last one in Aquarius. It will help us see the virtue in doing our own thing in our own way, and if necessary, walk away from oppressive conditions or people.
The New Moon in these signs this time in history helps us see the light of our collective focus and dream a better ideal into possible ideal forms. In the last month we had opportunities to renew our "healing into our Higher Self" thanks to Chiron's influence, and add to, or commit to, a greater value or more refined sense of expression over the next few weeks. It also helped us "deliver our higher power" through controlled use of our feelings shaped into useful thoughtforms.
This continues a series of New Moons with a spiritual-individualizing focus. Over the last several months we've found wisdom while understanding Nature's cycles and continued our journey away from "a narrow destiny" and "routine duties." We've purified our personalities so we could find a more effective Soul expression, and had opportunities to accept power or Grace to take the lead in our world. We're now in the final months of consolidating our Saturn in Libra lessons while finishing our Saturn in Virgo lessons.
This New Moon in Pisces is ruled by Jupiter. Given that this New Moon is part of a vast Pisces cluster of planets involving Jupiter, Mercury, and Uranus, expect a crowded house of activity wherever Pisces falls in your chart. This should bring rewards for excellence while teaching us how to "camouflage" ourselves so we don't needlessly expose who we are to those who could do us damage.
Since Jupiter is in its home sign, and all the other planets are in signs that are ruled by planets eventually ruled by Jupiter, that planet becomes the "final dispositor" and thus the main influence of all the planets at this time. Jupiter is helping us all learn to accept endings, value what protects us, understand our own and others' motives, and find our merit certified in some way.
This is the last in the initial series of New Moons with Saturn in Libra, since the Aries New Moon will again have Saturn in Virgo. That implies we are finishing our Saturn in Libra lessons begun November 2009, representing a dress rehearsal for the many New Moons with Saturn in Libra resuming August 2010-October 2012.
Astrologers will note that Saturn is at 2 Libra in this New Moon, the same degree it occupied by direct motion in the November 2009 New Moon and will again inhabit when it's direct again at the August 2010 New Moon. This makes the Saturn lessons associated with this New Moon directly relevant to whatever we experienced in November 2009 and what is to come in August.
Saturn continues to usher in allies, friends, and fellow truth-seekers as a technique for community building or group awareness. Since January, "greatness calling itself to itself" has been in the air! The new Libra energy in our lives since last November has now been reviewed, and will show as solid forms by late Summer 2010 with a powerful activation time the first half of August.
Beginning late last October, Saturn has been showing us new archetypes, perspectives, or roles, as well as larger cycles, larger possibilities, and the dawning of a new day in our lives. The next few weeks we find new insights regarding cyclic dynamics, and can see the emerging archetypes from a different angle than before now.
Saturn in Virgo prepared us to act according to how we've been educated the past 2 years, and now we're re-tracing the ground of the "first run" of manifesting a new ideal, a new archetype, and a new sense of self within interpersonal and collective circumstances. From April through July we'll finish up our Saturn in Virgo lessons, and by late Summer we'll be living the new archetype of Being that's emerged since November 2009.
Of major importance in this Lunation is that Mars is still the nozzle focusing The Grand Irrationality. This makes the current span between mid-February and early April a point in time when major choices and changes will occur. Some things will not make any sense, and many will find themselves at a major fork in the road of their destiny.
For more information about this years-long pandemic influence on our entire world, please read Spiritual Astrology in March-April 2010 part 1 - The Grand Irrationality and Forks in the Road for All Signs - An Overview as well as the companion article Spiritual Astrology in March-April 2010 part 2 - The Grand Irrationality and When It Will Be Set Into Motion For Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, and Pisces.
The Lunation continues the sequences of "See Saw" Jones Pattern Lunations, with Mars and Saturn separate from all the rest of the planets. Learn to go to the biggest picture without getting lost on the periphery, and find the creative center from which to extend into the broadest view of the overall process. With Mars in Leo in a favorable productive sextile to Saturn, strength of heart coupled with a balanced discipline can bring forth new archetypes in function. Our new ways of doing our Being will accelerate powerfully in late July.
Mars continues to occupy its stationary direct point at 1 Leo, so it's time to begin to renew what we've been working on since last October that lost momentum in December. We've reworked, re-done, undone, or waited long enough for other things to catch up so now it's time to launch anew. This renewed approach will be much stronger than it was in October and November. By April-May 2010 much will be "back on track" in our lives in the areas that have slowed down these past 12 weeks.
Though they are out of sign and about 5 degrees apart from the opposition, Saturn and Uranus still continue to strengthen a very powerful polarizing influence. Since January when Uranus moved forward and Saturn went retrograde, moving back toward Virgo, we've begun to re-experience the opposition effect. This will be especially strong as in this Lunation the Moon, Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter all conjunct Uranus, with all of them except Jupiter opposing Saturn. Though still out of sign for another month, this opposition will be getting stronger for many weeks to come.
I discussed this major influence of 2009-2010 involving Saturn opposition Uranus lessons at the link. You can find out more in the article Saturn Opposed Uranus - The Centrifuge Purifies All Of Us. Expect increasingly obvious effects beginning this month and intensifying in April and continuing throughout the Summer.
Throughout 2009 I explained that this very powerful opposition involving the two "titans of authority," Saturn and Uranus, is revolutionizing our lives and forcing us to adjust, learn, practice, and be very realistic in training for something revolutionary that we're in the midst of. The polarization can assist us in building a new individuality, interactive yet protected, as we embrace needed adjustments, conform to a plan, and do whatever it takes to live the higher worthy standard we found last year.
Because Saturn is still in very tight square to Pluto, expect continued signs of friction or tensions on large and small levels with gear-jamming in the air. As I've mentioned in other articles, it's the culmination of what began November 1982, when Saturn conjuncted Pluto at 28 Libra. This is a long range cycle for human evolution. Things set into motion then will fulfill their process between November 2009 and August 2010, when the last waning square is made. From Summer 2010 on, Saturn will make no more frictional aspects to Pluto until late 2014.
This lunation offers us a chance to find closure on old motives, ideas, feelings, and life experience. This will prepare us for accepting more important purposes, duties, and responsibilities in the near future. Some of what is required is the ability to make basic personal decisions, and integrate our sensitivities with our diverse interests.
We must come out of narrow thinking and interpretations into unique views and expressions of our talents and genius. Intuition will be sky high for those who have trained, with flashes of unique insights and understanding opening doors at the threshold of a new cycle.
There is an out of sign trine from the planets in late Pisces to Mars, anticipating the Aries to Leo harmonizing energies already set into motion by Venus. This should make it easy to see what to eliminate as we begin to unite with other "fighting spirits" to renew our quest for a more civil existence. The prevailing binoviles between the late Pisces stellium and Pluto shows that we can now find the common base for seemingly opposing realizations developing since December.
Venus is separating square to Pluto and separating opposition to Saturn. This shows developments in the recent past where we've had to let go of bizarre people, or those who are dishonest or kept us from getting concrete positive results in building needed life structures. You can bet this was directly related to what will come this Summer with the Cardinal T-square about to change our world forever.
A New Moon sets the seed forms for what the following 4 weeks will demonstrate. This New Moon falls at 26 Pisces, a point of finding our special way of responding to whatever "cosmic impulse" we're sensitive to. Rudhyar says it's a degree of "polyphony of values as man lives at various levels of consciousness," "inner call to realization," and "transmutation of meaning."
We know it's a degree of not conforming to the way others would, and coming at the "end of the end" of the zodiac, it will bring in a transition period from an old way to a new way. Whatever these weeks portend will be what is blessed, expanded, or an opportunity as Jupiter transits this degree. The first time will be May, the second time will be October, and the final time will be December of this year. By then we will all have "gone our own way."
According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, we find the Lunation degree is "A new moon that divides its influences," showing a "universal initiative" revealing itself in our instinctive outreach to our reality. Our "action must be tentative" until we reach a form of "true self-discovery."
Thus our past or present uncertainty or refusal to commit to something becomes the means to experience a response to our "deeper realization and ultimate motives." The keyword is FINESSE, and we are told this degree, when positive, "is a thoroughgoing capitalization on life's transitions and an effective development of every emerging potentiality of self."
Furthermore, we find that due to the influence of Mercury and Uranus on the next degree, that this lunation will also be "the threshold of new achievement" and we shall be showered by Nature with creative outpourings. We can find our productivity as rich as Nature Herself, and the resources of the world are at our service if we will put them to use. This is a degree of BENEDICTION, and "self-consummation which is successful beyond any possibility of measure."
There is a preponderance of planets in Water signs, with only 1 Earth, 2 Air, and 2 Fire planets. This shortage of Earth planets indicates a deficiency of practicality and grounding energy, with a balance between inspiration and mental emphasis. But we can feel deeper, broader, and more timeless emotions that we share with all humans throughout time, which should help us be more compassionate and forgiving as we stand on the threshold of a new era.
A note on Saturn in Libra. We have all begun a new way of viewing ideals and relationships. Follow your understanding of a greater vision or deeper understanding of transpersonal collective issues, ideals, and connectedness. Adjust to create a better world for yourself in connection with others, and open to a deeper understanding you've built with patience, persistent work, and long held aspiration.
The next 4 weeks will offer many opportunities to complete whatever needs completing, letting go and blessing the endings to make way for new developments already set in motion by Venus entering Aries. We can now find new life orders and move from the old to emergent areas of potential action. As we do, these will grow into new understanding of the process of unfoldment, leading to new truths, visions, and ways of life in June.
Many things will finally reveal themselves as we enter the end of the year cycle, showing us what we need to finish as we move into more limitless possibilities. A new order is appearing that will set up gifts for our circumstances, or circumstances for our gifts. Destiny is on the move, and sudden eruptions can be expected. This is the time we've prepared for since last June as we begin a long wave global transfiguration. Follow your heart, joyously and creatively rally at the end of the end, and protect what needs protecting.

Robert:
Thanks as always for your keen insights and positive encouragement. I sure like the sound of the "long wave global transfiguration." One of our favorite songs by Tracy Chapman says that the old world is broke, ain't worth fixing. "Time to start all over, make a new beginning." It does seem that the time is finally here to visualize and actualize a more humane, peaceful, and balanced world. The dolphins and whales have been patiently waiting for us. We can hear them singing to us if we just listen for a moment....

I'm coming into a very powerful period. My true life needs to start. I feel the kinetic culminator rush towards the doing and the manifesting of artistic practices.

So much of this resonates very deeply with what I've witnessed over the past month; I anticipate the "second half" of this new moon sequence, given the Neptune-Uranus resonances you mention, will begin to show new paths opening up - albeit in surprising ways!
Aum & Blessings to all as we begin this new journey!

How do you camouflage a Pisces MC? :-D I am indeed in a situation with a friend who has the potential to do me some emotional/psychic damage. Actually, has done, and I've had to repair several times. This is a situation of long standing (couple of years)... I've been trying to cope, not wanting to turn my back on what could be a karmic lesson... I guess it could just as well be time to let go. Much to ponder today. Namaste, Robert, and thank you.

Robert, thank you for a unique look at what is transpiring this year; well spoken with clear intent, the message you give is one of hope and enlightenment. All I've heard lately are cries for the challenge of the upcoming T-square and very few positive comments on what may be gained from it. Your article today is just what we needed to prepare for this momentous event. Namaste'...

So we had a tremendous rain storm with big winds this past weekend that, combined with unattended water damages, took a large chunk (60%) of our apartment's ceiling down. Luckily we weren't underneath it when it crashed down along with Niagara Falls!
We're displaced for a short time, until the ceiling is repaired and floors are redone. The worst (frustration included) is over, and thank goodness my husband and I are in this together. We can't wait to return to a "new" space-- it'll feel as if we've just moved into a new pad, and that's always a great feeling, right? This happened for a great reason, and that is that our negligent landlord sucks and is now (probably for the first time) being held accountable for wrongdoing. And let me tell ya-- we pay a good amount of rent, and if he failed to address this problem, he'd be in serious trouble. Nothing would have stopped us from getting a lawyer this time-- we've been way too patient and kind and understanding for long enough.
Don't be a sucker, kids. Don't be a sucker.

This new moon lands right on my natal Mars, and right on my Solar Return Venus, Mars, and Uranus - it's been a year like no other, can't wait to see what else unfolds :)
Thanks for another wonderful and enlightening article!

robert, this is just beautiful , I just had this insight concerned the 12th house, the house prior to our sun-consciuosness as in the solar year. knowing you're an aries, and knowing you through your astrology, not much - I know-, and feeling deeply moved and stirred by this particular readin... I m getting this vision of you diving deeply into the piscean ocean to give us these precious pearls of wisdom, feelings of spirit.. Thank you, it's always a treat reading your articles but this one is wonderful... Namaste'

This does all look so promising Robert but I worry a little. This new moon is related to what we experienced in November and will again in August...Novembers events have, in truth, purified me but they were, at the time very sad and at times terrifying.
Now I am operating as a result of the effects of this but I quake at the thought of repeating them in August, so soon! ..and just as it seems there is a bright light culminating from it all, though the loss was huge, it made me commit to following my own path no matter what. Lots of endings quite true!! All change, all good:)))
Happy St Patrick's from Ireland!

Thank you so much for posting this article. It has validated EVERYTHING for me and I feel SO much better after reading this. I feel whole again.

Happy St Pat's from the north central US, Marie. All the food turns green here today. I grew up with alot of Irish folks. All kinds of wild stories about those days, of course! The Irish families settled in the hills right above the valley where the Dutch and some German immigrants settled. I am eating a green scone as I write.

Robert,
As the old passes and events are reviewed.
I still do not understand the why? The buried hurt gives form to anger and i questions. What did I do to them?
Why did they do it? Money? Greed?
Thank you for all your kind support through the dark descent into hell.

Hi Robert
I just noticed that what I was going to write has already been touched upon by Marie (Ireland) above. As a Capricorn I didn't find Saturn in Virgo too bad, but ever since it's been in Libra I've been through a dark night of the soul. I just felt the energy shift today and glad of the respite whether it's because of Saturn back in Virgo, or just the change in weather (Sun's out at last!). I can't bear the thought of repeating November etc. again from August 2010 to 2012 because if November etc. was just a dress rehearsal, the real thing is going to be HELL. Because this time I won't be able to hibernate, I'll be on a learning curve with on-the-job training with nowhere to hide my introverted self. I'm regretting having made this commitment and dreading the start of August. Please, please could you elaborate on this period and how those such as I can prepare and navigate?
Thanks in advance for your time.
PS: Sorry to hear about your accident, and marvel at your ability to carry on working nonetheless.
