The New Moon falls at 25 Aries on April 14, 2010, 5:29 am PDT, 8:29 am EDT, 1:29 pm Greenwich (April 15 in New Zealand.) The New Moon triseptile Saturn will put the focus on what we set into motion October 2009, and mark a turning point in our collective destiny where we will either see the "narrow destiny" we have escaped from, are escaping from, or need to escape from. This will mark a probationary period where we set seeds into motion that will liberate us in some way in Spring 2011.
This is a long article packed with a lot of valuable information, so if you're ready, let's flame on!
The Lunation finds 3 Aries rising in Santa Monica, 23 Pisces in Vancouver, 3 Gemini in Washington DC, 9 Gemini in Rio, 18 Leo in London, 18 Leo in Johannesburg, 22 Leo in Amsterdam, 28 Leo in Berlin, 8 Virgo in Tallinn, and 6 Virgo in Istanbul.
Moving into Asia and Oceana, we find Ascendants at 15 Libra in New Delhi, 18 Libra in Trivandrum, 10 Scorpio in Bangkok, 19 Scorpio in Hong Kong, 6 Sagittarius in Tokyo, 12 Sagittarius in Perth, 13 Capricorn in Melbourne, 15 Capricorn in Brisbane, 9 Aquarius in Wellington, and 15 Aquarius rising on Maui.
This is the next in a sequences of New Moons that fall at the end of their signs and are followed by Full Moons in the next signs. It is also a phase of renewing the life energy in Aries, launching the new year's life force.
This New Moon at 25 Aries puts the focus on individual consciousness, and jumpstarts Aries energy wherever it falls in our chart. We are now fully into the new Solar year, infused with the Neptune/Chiron energies of 2 New Moons ago and the Uranus energies revolutionizing the collective consciousness (and collective unconscious) where we did literal or symbolic closure rituals allowing us to freely enter into the new year.
The past two New Moons helped us see the light of our collective focus and dream a better ideal into possible ideal forms. In the last 2 months we had opportunities to renew our "healing into our Higher Self" thanks to Chiron's influence, and add to, or commit to, a greater value or more refined sense of expression over the next few weeks. It also helped us "deliver our higher power" through controlled use of our feelings shaped into useful thoughtforms.
This is the first of a series of New Moons with a social-emotional-cultural focus. Due to Saturn's influence, the next few weeks will help us see how to solidify our journey away from "a narrow destiny" and "routine duties." We're now in the final months of finishing our Saturn in Virgo lessons we learned between Autumn 2007-2009.
This New Moon in Aries is ruled by Mars in Leo. Given this New Moon is part of a sequence of conjunctions spanning Capricorn to Taurus, expect this to continue our "season of harvesting" while opening us to greater dreams and possibilities of action. The next few weeks will show us permanent elements apart from the passing changes of fashion.
Since Mars is in Leo, ruled by the Sun, and Sun is in Aries, ruled by Mars, they are in what we term "mutual reception," a very powerful self-reinforcing power loop. Given that Jupiter and Venus are in their "home signs" as well, they are actually much stronger "final dispositors" for most of the other planets. That makes the Sun-Moon-Mars somewhat of a stand alone influence, but still very powerful since they are just barely separating from the very powerful biseptile even though the Lunation is still triseptile Saturn and Mars is septile Saturn.
This is the first in the final sequence of New Moons with Saturn in Virgo that will last through July. This begins a final sequence where we will finish up our Saturn in Virgo lessons we've been learning since Summer 2007. We will ultimately learn to apply our will power to escape from the narrow destiny we were living before a couple of years ago.
This Lunation follows the past several New Moons with Saturn in Libra which gave us a front end look at the lessons and responsibilities that will resume in August when Saturn will again be in Libra for many months thereafter. This implies that since November 2009, we have gotten a look at future Saturn in Libra lessons, representing a dress rehearsal for the many New Moons with Saturn in Libra resuming August 2010-October 2012.
Saturn continues to usher in allies, friends, and fellow truth-seekers as a technique for community building or group awareness. Since January, "greatness calling itself to itself" has been in the air! The new Libra energy in our lives since last November has now been reviewed, and will show as solid forms by late Summer 2010 with a powerful activation time the first half of August.
Beginning late last October, Saturn has been showing us new archetypes, perspectives, or roles, as well as larger cycles, larger possibilities, and the dawning of a new day in our lives. Since January we've re-traced the ground of the "first run" of manifesting a new ideal, a new archetype, and a new sense of self within interpersonal and collective circumstances. March offered us new insights regarding cyclic dynamics, and can see the emerging archetypes from a different angle than before now.
The Lunation continues the sequences of "See Saw" Jones Pattern Lunations, with Mars and Saturn separate from all the rest of the planets. Learn to go to the biggest picture without getting lost on the periphery, and find the creative center from which to extend into the broadest view of the overall process. With Mars in Leo in a powerful septile to Saturn, this period shows a "final fork in the road of destiny" preparing us for a new Mars-Saturn cycle to come the end of July when we shall all begin to live a new archetype. These new ways of doing our Being will accelerate powerfully after then.
In this Lunation, since Saturn is back in Virgo, we are again in the heart of the Saturn opposition Uranus. This is an extremely powerful polarizing influence. This opposition was in our face last Autumn, and since January we've begun to re-experience this extreme energy. It is now the heart of the storm, and will be with us for several months to come.
I discussed this major influence of 2009-2010 involving Saturn opposition Uranus lessons at the link. You can find out more in the article Saturn Opposed Uranus - The Centrifuge Purifies All Of Us. Expect increasingly obvious effects beginning this month continuing throughout the Summer. I'll compose more on this in the near future.
Throughout 2009 I explained that this very powerful opposition involving the two "titans of authority," Saturn and Uranus, is revolutionizing our lives and forcing us to adjust, learn, practice, and be very realistic in training for something revolutionary that we're in the midst of. The polarization can assist us in building a new individuality, interactive yet protected, as we embrace needed adjustments, conform to a plan, and do whatever it takes to live the higher worthy standard we found last year.
Though now out of sign, Saturn is still in square to Pluto. This symbolizes the continued friction and tensions on large and small levels with gear-jamming in the air. As I've mentioned in other articles, it's the culmination of what began November 1982, when Saturn conjuncted Pluto at 28 Libra. This is a long range cycle for human evolution. Things set into motion then will fulfill their process between November 2009 and August 2010, when the last waning square is made. From Summer 2010 on, Saturn will make no more frictional aspects to Pluto until late 2014.
Among the important forming aspects, showing things to come, we find the Lunation triseptile Saturn, Mercury septile Jupiter, Venus sextile Jupiter, Jupiter opposition Saturn, and Saturn opposed Uranus and quincunx to Neptune. This shows a very polarizing period, with major choices and changes in our external relations and our sense of duty, responsibility, and what limits we're willing to live with and which ones we're not.
Clearly the areas in our charts involving Aries, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces are at a crossroads. Choose wisely, since this is an important time of emergent possibilities depending on what we believe we need in order to mobilize our energies. We will also face important relational choices, where we will continue our "escape from a narrow destiny" or choose a lesser way of being.
Venus can help us mobilize productively, and gives us opportunities to grow through new ways of touching and being touched so that we can find a new form of hope. Many things will begin to break apart in the next few weeks so that when Uranus enters Aries in late May, we shall be able to embrace the new without wondering about the old detritus of our existence.
Mercury will go retrograde during the time this Lunation is an influence. We're surveying possibilities, preparing to mobilize however we need to in order to accomplish or capture some social goal. It also implies that April 21-23 will be important in seeing the influence from a retrograde angle of perception, so that by late May when Mercury crosses 12 Taurus for the third and last time this year we should have a complete understanding of what the Mercury septile Jupiter choices and changes are really about.
A New Moon sets the seed forms for what the following 4 weeks will demonstrate. This New Moon falls at 25 Aries, a point of a "fortuitous cooperation between inner and outer elements of being," where we can find a new way of understanding our "sense of responsibility to self or to society." Rudhyar says it's a degree of "the revelation of new potentialities," and an assurance we can operate successfully on multiple level of consciousness.
We are told that if we are able to be open in ways that shape our mind toward fulfillment, we can experience "life and power on inner as well as outer planes." He says this "announces the possibility of a new step in evolution," as a promise of things to come. It puts us "on probation."
As this is the beginning Lunation in the zodiac, it shows a new way. Whatever these weeks portend will be what is blessed, expanded, or an opportunity as Jupiter transits this degree. That implies that whatever we set into motion in the near future will grow tremendously in the Spring of 2011.
According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, we find the Lunation degree is "A double promise," showing a resourcefulness in finding valuable alternatives where we can see the "pertinence of everything that comes to (our) attention." We are told "here is unlimited capacity for seeing the world and self both inwardly and outwardly."
So it seems this degree combines the literal and symbolic in ways we can recognize so we can find useful alternatives of activity. The keyword is SENSIBILITY, and we are told this degree, when positive, "is a facility of adjustment by which everything in a given situation may be brought into the fullest co-operation with everything else."
This is a Lunation where decisions will be made and actions taken that will move us through new ideas and visions into new ways of experiencing life and ourselves. Though the energies may seem ruthless at times, this is the beginning of new possibilities in action, thought, and feeling. Just make sure that while you're acting and thinking you take some time to experience what you're feeling and why, since those will lead you to needed closures and allow you to feel timeless feelings that connect us all with each other.
There is a preponderance of planets in Air signs, with 4 in Earth, 3 in Fire, and 2 in Water. This shortage of Air planets indicates a deficiency of associative and objective energy, with a preponderance on practicality and inspiration with a concentration on the broad and vast feelings of Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Pisces. Since January and throughout most of this year (except for early June through early September) we can feel deeper, broader, and more timeless emotions that we share with all humans throughout time, which should help us be more compassionate and forgiving as we cross the threshold of a new era when Jupiter and Uranus join at 1 Aries in June.
A note on Saturn transitioning from Libra back to Virgo for the next several months. We have all been introduced to new ways of viewing ideals and relationships. This has prompted us to follow our understanding of a greater vision or deeper understanding of transpersonal collective issues, ideals, and connectedness.
We've seen the beginning of adjustments to create a better world for ourselves in connection with others, and had opportunities to open to a deeper understanding through patience, persistent work, and long held aspiration. Now we finish up our education indicated by Saturn in Virgo, preparing to use our will power to express our personality in May and June to move into new vistas, new worlds, new lives, and new ways of doing our Being.
The next 4 weeks will offer many important turning points in 11 of the 12 signs, and many who have been seeking up to now will turn to new actions, thoughts, and feelings even as they complete whatever needs completing, letting go and blessing the endings to make way for new developments set into motion by this Lunation in Aries. We can now find new life orders and move from the old to emergent areas of potential action. As we do, these will grow into new understanding of the process of unfoldment, leading to new truths, visions, and ways of life in June.
With so many septile aspects involving Moon, Mercury, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto with the very close Saturn opposition Uranus, we will make choices that will bring in a new life order. Due to the number and volatility of these aspects, destiny is on the move, and sudden eruptions can be expected.
This gives a strong initiative to what we've prepared for since last June as we begin a long wave global transfiguration. As Mars shows what is permanent, follow your heart, joyously and creatively rally at the end of the end, and free yourself from the residue of whatever "narrow destiny" you've been breaking free from the past two years.

Thanks, Robert. A young man ran into the rear of my wife's car today. He was driving too fast and not paying attention (Aries). She was being overly cautious and stopped to let another car back out when she probably should not have (Venus and Mercury in Taurus). His car was severely damaged. Hers only slightly. Although it was clearly his fault, this is the third time in 6-8 years that my wife has sustained a whiplash. The time before this one a few years ago was very similar in that she stopped and someone hit her from the rear. So I think that her lesson is that sometimes you need to go and not stop. Thank goodness she was not seriously injured. dcu

Hi Robert.
First of all thanks for shining a bright light in these days.
I know I have started a new and true path for me since February but since 12th April I have had to make some heavy readjustments to escape again a narrow destiny in another shape than before (a change within a change within a change...it never ends...) -Great Irrationality if I am not wrong-. Crazy destiny, just navigating and tryng to stay partially "in control".
My biggest doubt on it, I think is a worthy one for all the cantina:
OK, we are at the door of something, we may sense it, at least I do.
How can we integrate, how can we read the complete picture, having this New powerful Moon in Aries portraying specific beginnings at the same time Mercury will make a very, very trying retrograde (at least for those who have personal planets in the first 10 degrees of fixed signs like me), representing delays...plus in the same astrological House for many of us (my 6th house)...both are almost happening at the same time, one expands and the other puts some brakes...but obstacles can be there in our noses as we try some fresh start within a new path...
Beginning and delays together?. Very complex issue.
OK, I'll appreciate your take (sorry if I am mixing two items -New Moon Aries and Mercury Taurus retrograde- but is what I see, some kind of contradiction coming and in the same House for many)................
Thanks teacher.

Dear Robert,
Wow, great article! I'm excited for this one. A question--the lunation conjuncts my progressed ascendant, also at 25 Aries. Is that significant, or should I think about it more in terms of where it falls in my natal chart?
Thank you!

Thank you , thank you, thank you. howa'a (as they say in Haida) for sharing your light.

Thank you Robert! This lunation is conjunct my north node in the 10th. I just looked at my progressed chart and my progressed north node is at 25 32' Aries(conjunct my natal north node). Are we talking destiny here? Interestingly, I came across what I consider the PERFECT career opportunity today...I have been looking for quite awhile for something that allows me to utilize my unique and diverse talents (business and yoga). I am hoping for the best here...with non-attachment, of course! Namaste...

Thank you Robert for your comprehensive explanation. Hope you can now find time for your own intentions - may they manifest and flourish!
Blessings to all at the Cantina.

Hi Robert,
Fantastic article! The new moon falls one degree from my Venus at 25Aries47', in my H10. This new moon squares last solar eclipse at 25 of Capricorn, I feel this is all related. Today I've decided to start writing the plans for my artistic/humanitarian project, which I don't know where it will be taking me and know still less how to put it into execution, to make it real. I'm not foreseeing just now the way I'll be taking this off the ground but am being led to just go ahead with it, to write my essays, and overall start preparing all the material. It was exactly in October that I found myself "pregnant" of this project but it was only when the last Saturn/Pluto square happened that I was able to get a better definition of what this baby would be. There has been opportunities for me to meet with the people I would like to see involved in this in the hopefully not so far future. It's quite completely true that there has been an inner an outer revolution in progress that has been taking me away from a very narrow destiny.
"Saturn continues to usher in allies, friends, and fellow truth-seekers as a technique for community building or group awareness" ... That is exactly what has been happening!!!
Many blessings,
Alix

I also forgot to add that every time Saturn and Uranus make their exact opposition, some element that cannot be part of that new vision is being either naturally discarded by myself as is the case when a Yod is involved, which means it's something that I'm willing to sacrifice but it was not operational anyway and it doesn't go together with that larger view of things, or that element simply disappears from my life. In some cases I feel Uranus telling me "no way!". It's been very illuminating!

Hey Alix, I am sort of on the same page, tho there have been a fair few false starts but I learned which way I don't want to go with it. Your project sounds great and the artistic /humanitarian sounds very inclusive. I only wish you were here (Ireland) and we could really chat about it all....A good new moon Robert!?!....perhaps the right track is already underfoot:)))

Robert this is perfectly relevant to everything that's going on in my life right now. Namaste and thank you with all my heart for walking the Path with us.

What a fantastically detailed article. One to read again and again, dissect and learn from. Thank you for the obvious effort you put into it. It's greatly appreciated.
This New Moon happens in both my and my partner's 9th House, conjunct my Saturn/Venus conjunction and in a Grand Trine with his Jupiter and Uranus/Ascendant. I strongly suspect the opportunity in Switzerland which began for my partner in late-October, picked up again in late-January and then resurfaced in an interesting way in mid-March (my partner's current boss had a trip to Zurich coming up and scheduled a meeting with his future boss while he was there) -- following the schedule you so clearly laid out in this article, Robert -- will take another step forward in the coming weeks.
With this Mercury Retrograde stationing on both our Taurus Midheavens, the whole revisit, revise, rework, re-examine theme seems to fit. And then you have my partner's Secondary Progressed New Moon happening next month.
Times, they are a'changing.

Alix, if you don't mind my input here....Marie is right. Go forth with your project. Unfortunately the time is NOW when everything socially, politically and environmentally, goes awry/falls apart...the artist step in!
Go with it. Go for it courageously!

I am a nut for this Aries energy. Perhaps I admire it so much because my natal Mars is retro? It's so just what it is. And when my Virgo brain experiences that pure energy pouring out of others in its strength and beauty, it's a vacation. No parsing necessary.
Disclaimer: This does not apply to the woman in the car with the "I am a bitch" bumper sticker I saw this morning. That is something else.

This new moon has been particularly beneficial for me, financially and emotionally and even professionally. I wish everyone the same!

Thanks Chickie! Yes the time is now and there's not much time to waste, I'm trying to focus on that project as much as I can trusting that my living conditions in this country which have been less than ideal will get somehow solved and that I will be able to get the time and the resources to perfect those plans.
Hi Marie, well I'm in London, that's not too far from Ireland :) If Robert doesn't mind I'll post my email address here and you can feel free to contact me any time you want.

Wonderful Alix, I am often looking at oppertunities and projects there, it's a very exciting place right now, I was over just before Christmas and I may be ready to branch out in the very near future. I am an art therapist/artist myself and find conditions quite limiting here at the moment, that said the right attitude and a little help from the angels, as robert puts it, we will find the way:)))
very pleased to meet you here!

Hi all - Catching up on checking in. This Aries New Moon seems to be stimulating a lot of clients' lives who have late Aries active in some way in their charts!
Hi dcu - I hope she's doing well by now. Sorry she had to experience another collision with someone who probably should not be allowed to drive unsupervised. Definitely know sometimes safety is in speeding up rather than slowing down...
Hi Henry - You're welcome. With all that's going on for me, it's not easy to keep composing what needs to be posted. Definitely know about changes within changes within changes. I trust the article about Mercury square Mars helped clarify some things.
Hi reefaroundme - Yes to both. Yes it puts the focus on the house in which it falls. And yes, it specifically puts an emphasis on your progressed self image (which is suspect must be in either the 2nd or 3rd natal house by now.)
Hi star sister - You're welcome. Mille grazie und vielen Dank!
Hi Sherry - Enjoy the ride on the tractor beam into your line of greatest evolutionary development. Congrats on finding a vector....
Hi Morvah - Yes, well, it would be good if I could start offering classes and talks on line for those who want to go deeper into both astrology and the Path of Hastened Attainment. And write a couple of books that needed to be done last year, and cultivate a more cohesive physical community, and... (that's part of why I encourage those who are regulars here to help those with less knowledge whenever they are moved to do so.)
Hi Alix - Welcome to a focus on your Venus. This could very well mark an end of at least one phase of that Eclipse, and be a "turning of the energies" to new directions. Aries is "one step at a time" so work in short bursts and invite new opportunities and connections to present themselves. Glad your Way is becoming clearer by the week! (and the centrifuge of Saturn/Uranus continues to spin....)
Hi Marie - If you and Alix want to exchange emails, just email me and I'll send them off to each of you. Unfortunately, posting them here will only encourage spambots to plague both of you!
Hi Siri - Thanks for your kind blessings. Sometimes the load gets staggering...
Hi duse - Well, I always figured if something was worth doing, one should do it as excellently as possible. Now if I could just stop the articles from becoming so large they could eat Cleveland! Retrogrades are good for picking things up that have been hanging fire for awhile. That's why Mercury RX is not so bad for many things.
Hi chickie - When chaos reduces an old order to fragments, then new orders are able to appear. And the artist does do well in bringing harmony and beauty out of friction, or so we're told in the science of the Rays.
Hi caliban - I suppose Aries is good for getting things in motion, even if we don't know where we're going or when we'll get there! Aries is the 8th sign from Virgo. Good regeneration energy for Virgo and Virgo rising.
Hi WarriorLady - Congrats! Sounds wonderful. May all share in such blessings!
Hi Bilyana Petrova - You're most welcome.
