In June and July 2010 the Grand Irrationality is triggered quite a few times by the inner planets. Expect things to get very heavy in the way of choices and changes involving Capricorn, Aquarius, Gemini, Leo, and Virgo sectors in our maps triggering shifts in Aries and Scorpio resonant areas.
This 9 week period marks a very important point in getting clear about the magnetics and specific tasks to be done and training to be learned connected to forks in the road and forms of obsessive or compulsive behaviors in self or others. These will be most evident in the houses occupied by the signs listed above.
As noted in previous articles on The Grand Irrationality, as the inner planets make septiles, biseptiles, and triseptiles to Neptune, Pluto, or any other planet in one of the 7 zones of the Grand Irrationality, we confront major forks in the road in areas of our lives where these are transiting.
A brief reminder of what brought us to this dance. Saturn biseptiled Pluto and triseptiled Neptune and Chiron three different periods between September 2008 and August 2009. This set major decisions into play where each of us determined our "future destiny" by the choices we made.
Many of the ramifications of these realizations began to be set into play by Mars in October 2009, followed by a slow down period January-February 2010. Then Mars going direct in early March at 1 degree Leo set the current time-field into motion. Between late February and early April Mars acted as a nozzle focusing the Grand Irrationality Neptune and Pluto energies. You can find more about this significant point of "fork in the road" energies by going to Mars in Leo Triseptile Neptune and Pluto Triggering the Grand Irrationality in February-March 2010.
As noted in part one, during June and July 2010 the hot zones of The Grand Irrationality are approximately 4-8 Capricorn, 26-30 Aquarius, 17-21 Aries, 8-12 Gemini, 30 Cancer to 4 Leo, 21-25 Virgo, and 12-16 Scorpio depending on the exact degrees of Neptune and Pluto.
Every time the Moon moves through these zones it triggers the whole pattern. Recently, the pattern was triggered May 2, 6-7, 11, 14-15, 18-19, 21, 25-26, and 29-30.
In June and July, the Moon first activates the Grand Irrationality during this 9 week span June 3 when it transits the Aquarius zone. It will again move through late Aquarius June 30-July 1, and July 27-28. Besides triggering the Grand Irrationality each time it conjuncts Neptune, it also activates Solar Eclipse effects from both 2008 and 2009.
These influences are far-reaching in their effects on humanity, since it involved the Moon conjuncting Neptune and Chiron (and still does!) Thus each month the Moon reinforces and gives form to long range manifestations arising from those very important eclipses.
When the Moon moves through Aquarius, it activates the Neptune and North Node points from the February 2008 Solar Eclipse at 18 Aquarius, as well as the Neptune point in the January 2009 Solar Eclipse at 7 Aquarius. These are both important long wave influences lasting for years.
The February 2008 Solar Eclipse has unveiled and will continue to unveil many things in years to come. This eclipse involves a widespread need to finish some renewal within a public or collective setup. The January 2009 Solar Eclipse has been and continues to bring forth original mutations and the birth of global Beings cut loose from local conditions and limited standards.
To remind you, it was extraordinarily important that the February 2008 Solar Eclipse began the year of the Earth Rat, indicating that year departed from prior long cycles since the Rat begins the sequence of Chinese Astrological animals. Due to the position of the Moon’s Nodes, which create the Eclipse effect, the January 2009 Solar Eclipse also marked the beginning of a Chinese Year, that of the Earth Ox.
So when the Moon transits Aquarius and conjuncts Neptune (and Chiron!) in June and July it sets both The Grand Irrationality AND echoes of the numerous Eclipses involving Aquarian energies. Again, these periods are June 3, June 30-July 1, and July 27-28.
If you want to know more about the Aquarius Solar eclipses, please visit the articles dealing with them in the archives. Also important is the 2009 Lunar Eclipse, since the Sun was conjunct Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune thus impacting the number of months afterward according to the length of that eclipse. Jupiter in Aquarius also boosting the Eclipse energies in 2009, expanding the scope of what we learned and/or were taught. This set new Aquarian initiatives into motion for 12 years to come.
So during 2009, Jupiter set the Grand Irrationality and several Eclipses into motion in a big way. This finalized some things and opened new vistas of group work and ways to manage our energies in collective circumstances. These were launched when it went through the Aquarius zone for the third and last time in December 2009 and January 2010. You can find more about what that meant by going to Jupiter conjunct Neptune in the Aquarius zone of the Grand Irrationality.
Continuing the series of Lunar transits through the zones of the Grand Irrationality, the Moon will move through the Aries zone of the pattern on June 7, July 4, and July 31. As noted yesterday, these periods continue to echo important Venus lessons set up between March and May 2009 and re-visited between mid-March and early April 2010. If you want to learn more about what the Venus lessons entailed, check the archives for March 2009.
We now examine the span between 30 Cancer and 4 Leo. This most important span was set into major motion when Mars transited early Leo, and each time the Moon moves through this zone it echos and gives form to whatever began to erupt in our lives in March after a slowdown last Winter.
As I noted yesterday, this first began in mid-to-late October 2009. Then Mars went retrograde, and occupied the zone from mid-February through early April 2010. The Moon activated the influence in a big was February 25-26 as Mars was about to go stationary direct. This set The Grand Irrationality into constant motion from then through early April.
This period will continue to be a very important "platform" for our activities for all of 2010, launching spontaneous "conflagrations" in whatever area of our chart that 1 Leo occupies. The echos of the Mars effect will be most prominent June 14-15 and July 12-13.
The Moon transits the Virgo zone on June 18 and July 15, again bringing focus to what Saturn structured while it was in the Grand Irrationality during 2008-2009. July 15 is particularly important, since the Moon will conjunct Mars in the Virgo zone, setting the Saturnian Grand Irrationality lessons and energies into motion.
Even though Saturn has left the Virgo zone, the Moon's transit will "echo" the lessons, challenges, and responsibilities crystallized by Saturn's transit through the Grand Irrationality Virgo zone. These continue to provide us forms regarding Dharma, responsibility, and our on-going "education" preparing us to live an archetypal form appropriate to some need in our lives or our world.
The Moon will move through the Scorpio zone June 22 and July 19. Though not currently transited by any other planet, take note of these days since they may hold a clue to what will become an important focus between late September and late October when Venus goes stationary retrograde in the Scorpio zone conjunct Mars also in the zone from late September through early October.
Finishing the series of Lunar transits through the Grand Irrationality zone, the Moon occupies the Capricorn zone and conjuncts Pluto at the Galactic Center June 26 (Lunar Eclipse alert!!!) and July 23-24. Each time the Moon moves through Capricorn it triggers past conjunctions of Pluto with the Galactic Center. This is releasing influences beyond comprehension (but not experiencing!) of 250 year transformational seeds of Galactic patterns into form.
Since the Moon nurtures and gives form to whatever it touches, each time it transits early Cap it focuses the Galactic Center energies currently sprouting as a result of past and present Pluto conjunctions with the GC. You can find out more about the Galactic Center energies by checking out Pluto at the Galactic Center. Also relevant is the article Galactic Center Conjunctions by Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto - the Newest Influences What's Coming in 2012, since all outer planet conjunctions to the GC set up long wave global transformational pulses through subsequent transits.
There is a lot to explore, so take your time and try to get a sense of these "galactic" energies that will impact our planet for at least 250 years to come, and probably much longer, if other long cycle time-wave factors are taken into consideration. I have numerous articles about the GC in the archives, so enjoy!
The main signal points when the inner planets will trigger the effect during this 9 week period are May 29-June 3 (Sun in Gemini), June 12-17 (Venus in Cancer/Leo), June 14-17 (Mercury in Gemini), July 8-11 (Mercury in Cancer/Leo), July 12-20 (Mars in Virgo) July 20-27 (Sun in Cancer/Leo), and July 28-August 2 (Venus in Virgo). Thus you can see there will be times that are very active!
If the Moon is also in a zone of the Grand Irrationality during the transit periods mentioned above, the pattern is reinforced or another point is added. It activates it's own zone when it's in Aries and Scorpio.
In June, that puts a special emphasis on May 29-30 (Sun in Gemini, Moon in Capricorn - 3 points, 4 planets), June 3 (Sun in Gemini, Moon in Aquarius - 3 points, 4 planets), June 14-15 (Mercury in Gemini, Moon conjunct Venus in Cancer/Leo - 4 points, 5 planets!), and June 17 (Venus in Cancer/Leo, Moon in Virgo - 4 points, 4 planets).
In July, we find the primary hot spots in time to be July 8-9 (Mercury in Cancer/Leo, Moon in Gemini - 4 points, 4 planets), July 12 (Mars in Virgo, Moon in Cancer/Leo - 4 points, 4 planets), July 15-16 (Moon conjunct Mars in Virgo - 3 points, 4 planets), July 19-20 (Sun in Cancer/Leo, Mars in Virgo, Moon in Scorpio - 5 points, 5 planets!!), July 23-24 (Sun in Cancer/Leo, Moon in Capricorn - 3 points, 4 planets), July 27-28 (Sun in Cancer/Leo, Venus in Virgo, Moon in Aquarius - 4 points, 5 planets), and July 31 (Venus in Virgo, Moon in Aries - 4 points, 4 planets.)(I've not included Chiron in any of the above, but obviously it adds even another factor to the mix, if you're so inclined.)
These days will definitely mark important forks in the road since at times we'll have quite a few points active involving many planets. These will be times when the influence cut across many areas of life.
From mid-June through the end of July, 4 or 5 points will be active, with a potential 5th, 6th and even 7th whenever the transiting Ascendant or Midheaven transits an empty "hot zone." Obviously, during the period of mid-June through the end of July 2010 it will seem that the influence is non-stop and things will be in constant motion!
Each time the Grand Irrationality is stimulated by the inner planets, it manifests along its most characteristic Pluto in Capricorn-Neptune in Aquarius energies. Throughout last year, the Aquarius conjunctions added intensity to that anchoring aspect and brought the energies of the personality planets to focus the Jupiter conjunct Neptune influence.
This continued through early January 2010. The Capricorn conjunctions all coax forth forms of the Plutonic seeds set into motion by the December 2007 conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto, along with the December 2008 initiatives resulting from Mars conjunct Pluto.
Since the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars all move through one of the zones in this forecast period, and the Moon moves through all 7 zones repeatedly, they will trigger changes in the houses ruled by these planets. This will also affect any life areas where we have planets in those hot zones. The houses they occupy as well as rule will be most directly affected.
Since these planets rule 8 of the 12 signs, we will be put through major choices and "forks in the road of destiny" in quite a few areas of our lives. Add the Moons in Virgo echoing the Saturn in Virgo energies of the recent past, and the Moon in Aquarius echoing the Jupiter in Aquarius influence on the Grand Irrationality, and it could be said that every area of our lives will continue to be impacted in major ways. This will show as important changes set into motion by our character choices over the next 9 weeks.
That's why it's important to stay on top of what's being triggered and when as the transiting planets as they move through these zones. Regardless of which zones are triggered when by what, during transits to any of the 7 zones of influence we can expect shifts, changes, forks in the road, irrational or compulsive behavior in self or others, and important times of decision.
Adding to the intensity of this constant influence on our times, we also have other septile configurations that come and go between other planets, some more quickly than others. An example of this is when the inner planets make septiles, biseptiles, and triseptiles to Uranus. Given the powerful influence of Uranus across the entire spectrum of human activity, you could see how this could also trigger major choices and changes in the realm of individuation, innovation, and creative revolution in our personality structure.
There were several hot zones when Uranian irrationality and individuation choices confronted us the past 3 months. As the inner planets all conjuncted Uranus in March, these re-set the Uranian output for the year connected to the areas of life those planets rule.
We've seen important developments connected to these conjunctions when the planets moved through 18-22 Taurus (April 14-18, May 7-12, May 31-June 5), and will see further developments when they move through 9-13 Cancer (May 26-31, June 29-July 4), and 1-5 Virgo (June 6-15, July 9-14, July 27-31).
Of course, the Moon also activates this irrational, revolutionizing influence 7 times a month as well, including the time spans just mentioned. While not "The Grand Irrationality," this is still a very important force in our individual and collective experience. And of course, during June and July the Grand Irrationality will be highly activated many times due to planets crossing through the Gemini, Cancer/Leo, and Virgo zones.
Connected to the larger Grand Irrationality pattern, in December 2008 Mars conjuncted Pluto at the Galactic Center. That ended an old cycle that began January 2007 and activated the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction cycle that began December 2007. Given the constant Saturn pressure from the Virgo zone highly active at that time, it set up major shifts globally for 2009.
Mars coming December 13-14 conjunction with Pluto at 5 Capricorn, accompanied with Mercury going stationary retrograde at 6 Capricorn on December 10, 2010 (also exactly conjunct Pluto), marks a time when the current Mars-Pluto cycle ends. All that we've been going through since December 2008 sets up different Galactic Center manifestations to come in 2011 and 2012. I'll write more about this later in the year.
Of some substantial importance, late December 2008 was more volatile than usual due to Jupiter making a waning septile with Uranus. This marked the forming of the seed of the future Jupiter-Uranus cycle to begin in 2010 with their conjunction in early Aries just a few days from now. Please note that will accelerate and expand the coming major Cardinal squares and oppositions of 2009-2010-2011-2012-2013.
So during the next few weeks, keep seeing how you've been trained to do a greater work or service, and do whatever it takes in following through on the larger life you are here to do. Venus and Mars will bring expressions of what Saturn in Virgo has taught us, while Jupiter moving from late Pisces into Aries marks the end of the end and the beginning of the beginning. A whole new era beckons!

Thank you Robert for your article. This is a very interesting series to sink my teeth into. (Note to self: "Next lifetime take that geometry class you so skillfully avoided in college.")
Like Timothy (posted above) I have Saturn at 5 degrees in Cap. The eclipse on the 26th is going to be conjunct to our Saturn. Pluto is also conjunct at zero degrees. All of this is in my 4th house, right on my IC. I feel like I'm sitting on a timebomb set to explode on the 26th (give or take a few days).

Robert!
WOW!
I am 8 degree Gemini in the 10th, North Node 23 Virgo in the first,Chiron 29 Aquarius! I feel a calling of doing more healing. I am going to a workshop next week.
I dont know if Jupiter at 1degree Cap in the 4th will be affected or not.
Just breathe!

Hi Timothy - Pluto visiting our Saturn is always a very heavy experience! When the "Lord of the Underworld" comes to hang out with our fear/control/security systems, it can be weird, terrifying, and yet completely liberating so we can get over rules we don't need. As Aries is a waxing square to Capricorn, this is a heavily emergent time for you.
Hi Kachina - Thanks for your kind words. Sometimes just knowing that things are irrational can make the experience not so weird (or weird, but we know not to take it personally.;-))
Hi Terri - Yes, Cosmic Geometry blends into Cosmic Trigonometry where we learn that the Universe has many ways to orient to a multiple axis reality. A long time ago I was fascinated by the phases of how a thing evolves, which is why I focused on the aspects. And now that knowledge has grown into the monster that ate Cleveland..... Go with the changes brought on by the Lunar Eclipse, let go of whatever foundation material that no longer serves as a good platform for your future, and be willing to move in the direction of your Highest Work.
Hi H - This would be the time to close out old ways of seeing and doing, preparing for a larger work, larger future, and new adventures in higher knowledge. Just think - after the coming final square from Saturn to your Moon, it's all quintiles, sextiles, septiles and so forth for many years to come. Whatever personality structure and habits you adopted in the late 80s are coming to completion, after which you'll get gifts, powers, and productivity on the basis of your experiences.
Hi Cindy - Saturn has helped structure in a more mature line of greatest evolutionary development the past three years, and your Chiron return should show you how you've been able to heal into your Higher Self through Neptunian means. Prayer, mediation, water rituals are all favored as "coming out" methods. You're entering a long range rigor of learning that will train you in remarkable ways. By late 2011 into 2012 you'll have stabilized in some great ways!
