Today we take a new look at whether we truly are in the new Age of Aquarius, or whether we're in transition and it's yet to come. If my computations are correct, we're definitely on the edge of a new era, with many signals showing us we've entered a period of accelerating events that will lead us directly into the Age of Aquarius.
I explored some important issues around the "change of the age" a few years back, and figured this would be a good time to offer new readers a chance to check out what I've written about the life-and-planet altering events we're living through. Here are a few bits from the original article to whet your appetites:
The evolution of an Age is more like the movement of a glacier, with very gradual shifts that may not be noticed for decades. Of course, using that metaphor is fraught with potential implications right now, given the rapid melting of glacier ice in both North and South polar regions. Things are shifting rapidly on our Earth, which we are told is a portent of larger shifts in the human condition.Shifts in a Great Age also correspond with shifts in worldly power structures, economies, and belief systems. However, as prelude to any new forms presenting themselves and being widely accepted, there must first be relative chaos and the dis-integration of old forms, since an old order is never open to a new order that can supersede it.
We also are told that humanity must have reached a state of tension, of yearning for something new that will satisfy basic human needs that are not being addressed by the old systems. It is fairly easy to see that we are rapidly approaching that state in the world today.
From 2006, for your renewed consideration,

Interesting, Robert - I think the original article on the Age of Aquarius was the first article I read that turned me on to your blog. And it was equally interesting to go back and read that article, along with the accompanying posts, realizing how much the world continues to move along more quickly on what feels like a path of destruction yet, and I'm paraphrasing, all things bad need to play out to conclusion before new forms can prevail.
I'm hoping to live long enough to see some of the old ways to die off - how wonderful it is to imagine universal tolerance, earth-consciousness, war-ending, faminine-ridding, group conscience emerge from the dust we continue to create right through today.
It is also interesting to realize that most all cultures and religions speak of such destruction before peace and tranquility prevail. Not thinking in the strict biblical 'end of times' realm, just appears that all societies have had some clue that in order to make an omlette, you have to break the eggs first.
Thank you for revisiting, Robert. Peace and blessings to you all as this rollercoaster ride continues!
