October 2010 Astrology - An Overview

There are several important things going on in October that will have long range impacts on all signs.

First, Venus is already slowing to go retrograde at 14 Scorpio, about 12 hours after the New Moon on October 7 at 15 Libra. We're all going to have to learn ways to conquer obstacles in communication in October, especially those with strong Taurus or Libra planets in their charts. As Venus slows, Mars will catch up and they'll make yet another conjunction, this time at 13 Scorpio, a degree of "outwitting" something or someone so that we may see how things are related to each other while preparing for a new level of service to our world.

This is a major turning point for those with planets around 12-15 Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. Be thoughtful about what needs eliminating or regenerating, and try not to get too engulfed in passions or the general intensity. Things should get much clearer toward mid-to-late October as Mars in Scorpio trines Jupiter and Uranus in late Pisces, favoring inventiveness and cutting through obstacles.

The third and fourth weeks of October is definitely a good time to see clearly how you can secure your better interests, though with Mars square Neptune, don't give up too easily while finding ways to be inspired or inspiring. This is the culmination of the Neptune lessons we've been dealing with since last February, so keep it simple, straightforward, easy-going, noble, loving, and playful while "cutting to the chase."

Another big theme around the third week of October involves accepting a form of power or grace, along with seeing a) how to demonstrate a form of divine power skillfully and efficiently; b) how you have linked Heaven and Earth within you, delivering you from a storm that is now past; c) how your past ideals and long held thought forms have now shown up as a form of your heart's desire; d) how your imagination has brought forth something you've wanted to see for a long time; and e) your worth from a new angle of vision.

Also prominent in the third week are adjustments leading to productivity in stabilizing conditions and heart energy, paying dues and completing the balancing of old karmas, understanding clearly a new vision to reach out to, doing your own thing in your own way, and if necessary, going in a different direction than those around you. Just figure out what set of standards you need to conform to, and feel how you can be strengthened by honoring that which holds things together.

Due to Saturn's transit in October, we'll start with a sense of a new beginning, find something of the past that we can use to honor the passage into the future, and then experience a form of relief by mid-month. The end of the month is instructional, where we must see both knowledge and human-ness as dual factors in getting needed information. What we're going through between October 19-28 will give us a front end look at important issues we'll all be dealing with between mid-May and mid-July 2011. Those impacted to a significant degree are people with planets between 7-13 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.

So while some areas of our lives are slowing down and going into "review" mode, other areas will fulfill themselves in multi-level understanding, harmonizing and stabilizing affairs wherever we have late Gemini and late Cancer in our birth chart. Those with planets late in their signs will be most impacted this month, with clarity, stability, and adjustments preparing us to move forward in many ways in mid-November.

Hope this will be good, Robert... I have some target planets (Gemini-Uranus 27) and (Libra-Neptune 15) and (Leo-Pluto 15)-- I would like a turning point, having just quit smoking. Everytime I let go of something it generally allows something new in. I'll keep it simple and stay observant. Best wishes on your good October, 10-10-10!

The a,b,c and d for the third week of October suits exactly my state of being.
Still some uncertainty but I am nearer to get a long-desired opportunity with the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction trine my Sun and the summer-total-uncertainty-storm is now over.
Well, my Sun is at 29º Cancer and my Asc at 13º Scorpio so I guess I should wait a little bit more for things to crystallize..."grandly irrationaly" influenced by what you say.

Hello Robert thank you for your insights i know you are busy but i would be so grateful if you could clarify this period for me as i have my sun at 12 scorpio conj merc at 11, uranus at 7 and mars at 18 and square saturn rising at 16 leo.Also pluto is at 12 libra close to new moon point.I have felt stuck for a long time but all this points to something happening, please respond

Well, I really need to figure out how to decipher my chart, because these dates you are naming are biggies in my life this month. I have a lot riding on that third week of October--and the ex is a Taurus sun.

If I'm reading this properly, I have reason to stay optimistic about the outcome. I love what you write about balancing old karma, power and grace, doing things my way, and "outwitting." My situation continues to challenge me, but I have navigated to a much better (and happier) way of thinking, being, feeling; I remain convinced this is the only way, and I mean the only way to use the divine gifts properly.

Get these chains off of me. I see that happening--rebalancing old karma.
