In November and December 2010 the Grand Irrationality is triggered quite a few times by the inner planets. Expect things to get very heavy in the way of choices and changes involving Capricorn, Aquarius, and Scorpio sectors in our maps triggering shifts in Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio resonant areas.
This 9 week period marks a very important point in getting clear about the magnetics and specific tasks to be done and training to be learned connected to forks in the road and forms of obsessive or compulsive behaviors in self or others. These will be most evident in the houses occupied by the signs listed above.
As noted in previous articles on The Grand Irrationality, as the inner planets make septiles, biseptiles, and triseptiles to Neptune, Pluto, or any other planet in one of the 7 zones of the Grand Irrationality, we confront major forks in the road in areas of our lives where these are transiting.
A brief reminder of what brought us to this dance. Saturn biseptiled Pluto and triseptiled Neptune and Chiron three different periods between September 2008 and August 2009. This set major decisions into play where each of us determined our "future destiny" by the choices we made.
Many of the ramifications of these realizations began to be set into play by Mars in October 2009. This was followed by a slow down period January-February 2010 (Mars retrograde) even as Jupiter expanded the Neptunian possibilities and hit a major turning point in its relationship to the larger Plutonic transformational tension.
Mars going direct in early March 2010 at 1 degree Leo set the current time-field into motion. Between late February and early April Mars acted as a nozzle focusing the Grand Irrationality Neptune and Pluto energies. You can find more about this significant point of "fork in the road" energies by going to Mars in Leo Triseptile Neptune and Pluto Triggering the Grand Irrationality in February-March 2010.
As noted in part one, during November and December 2010, the hot zones of The Grand Irrationality are approximately 3-7 Capricorn, 25-29 Aquarius, 16-20 Aries, 7-11 Gemini, 29 Cancer to 3 Leo, 21-25 Virgo, and 12-16 Scorpio depending on what degrees Neptune and Pluto occupy plus the orb of influence.
Every time the Moon moves through these zones it triggers the whole pattern. We begin this scan of Lunar influences by noting that it will move through the Virgo zone on November 2-3, 29-30, and again December 26-27. As I've noted, when the Moon transits Virgo, it again brings focus to what Saturn structured while that planet was triggering the Grand Irrationality during 2008-2009.
Even though Saturn left the Virgo zone quite a while ago, the Moon's transit will "echo" the lessons, challenges, and responsibilities crystallized by Saturn's transit through the Grand Irrationality mid-Virgo zone. These continue to provide us forms and reminders regarding Dharma, responsibility, and our "education" that has prepared us to embrace the archetypal roles we've begun to live since October-November 2009.
The Moon moves through the Scorpio zone November 5-6, when the New Moon at 14 Scorpio on November 5 at 9:52 pm PDT, (0:52 am EDT, 5:52 am Greenwich Nov 6) will again put a major focus on the Venus stationary retrograde degree that is influencing the major choices and decisions of October-November. You can bet November will continue to bring forth more changes and shifts in direction that began in early October! The next times the Moon moves through the Scorpio zone will be December 3 and 30-31. New Years' Eve will be pretty interesting this year!!
A very important time each month is when the Moon conjuncts Pluto and septiles Neptune in Capricorn. During this time frame, the Moon will transit November 9-10 and again December 6-7. Each time the Moon moves through Capricorn it triggers past and present conjunctions of Pluto with the Galactic Center.
This has been releasing influences beyond comprehension (but not experiencing!) of 250 year transformational seeds of Galactic patterns into form. We've launched a new quarter millennium during the past few years!
Since the Moon nurtures and gives form to whatever it touches, each time it transits early Cap it re-focuses the Galactic Center energies currently sprouting as a result of past and present Pluto conjunctions with the GC. You can find out more about the Galactic Center energies by checking out Pluto at the Galactic Center. Also relevant is the article Galactic Center Conjunctions by Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto - the Newest Influences What's Coming in 2012, since all outer planet conjunctions to the GC set up long wave global transformational pulses through subsequent transits.
There is a lot to explore, so take your time and try to get a sense of these "galactic" energies that will impact our planet for at least 250 years to come, and probably much longer, if other long cycle time-wave factors are taken into consideration. I have numerous articles about the GC in the archives, so enjoy!
After Capricorn, the Moon transits Aquarius where it conjuncts Neptune (and Chiron) and septiles Pluto. During November and December it moves through the Aquarius zone on November 13-14, and again December 11-12. Besides triggering the Grand Irrationality each time it conjuncts Neptune, it also activates Solar Eclipse effects from both 2008 and 2009.
These influences are far-reaching in their effects on humanity, since it involved the Moon conjuncting Neptune and Chiron (and still does!) Thus each month the Moon reinforces and gives form to long range manifestations arising from those very important eclipses.
When the Moon transits Aquarius, it activates the Neptune and North Node points from the February 2008 Solar Eclipse at 18 Aquarius, as well as the Neptune point in the January 2009 Solar Eclipse at 7 Aquarius. These are both important long wave influences lasting for years.
The February 2008 Solar Eclipse has unveiled and will continue to unveil many things in years to come. This eclipse involves a widespread need to finish some renewal within a public or collective setup. The January 2009 Solar Eclipse has been and continues to bring forth original mutations and the birth of global Beings cut loose from local conditions and limited standards.
To remind you, it was extraordinarily important that the February 2008 Solar Eclipse began the year of the Earth Rat, indicating that year departed from prior long cycles since the Rat begins the sequence of Chinese Astrological animals. Due to the position of the Moon’s Nodes, which create the Eclipse effect, the January 2009 Solar Eclipse also marked the beginning of a Chinese Year, that of the Earth Ox. You can find more by going to the archives for those months in 2008 and 2009 to find more.
If you want to know more about the Aquarius Solar eclipses, please visit the articles dealing with them in the archives. Also important is the 2009 Lunar Eclipse, since the Sun was conjunct Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune thus impacting the number of months afterward according to the length of that eclipse. Jupiter in Aquarius also boosting the Eclipse energies at several points in 2009, expanding the scope of what we learned and/or were taught. This set new Aquarian initiatives into motion for 12 years to come.
So during 2009, Jupiter set the Grand Irrationality and several Eclipses into motion in a big way. This finalized some things and opened new vistas of group work and ways to manage our energies in collective circumstances.
These were launched when it went through the Aquarius zone for the third and last time in December 2009 and January 2010. You can find more about what that meant by going to Jupiter conjunct Neptune in the Aquarius zone of the Grand Irrationality.
Continuing the series of Lunar transits through the zones of the Grand Irrationality, the Moon will move through the Aries zone of the pattern on November 17-18 and December 14-15. As noted yesterday, these periods continue to echo important Venus lessons set up between March and May 2009 and re-visited between mid-March and early April 2010. If you want to learn more about what the Venus lessons entailed, check the archives for March 2009.
The Moon moves through the Gemini zone on November 21-22 and again on December 19. Some of what is set into motion during the coming Moons in Gemini will be the source of changes when the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars all transit the Gemini sector of the Grand Irrationality between late May and early July 2011, so pay attention to the ideas, signals, and messages you get when the Moon transits 7-11 Gemini during the next 6 months.
Finishing the series of Lunar transits through the various zones of the Grand Irrationality, it visits the very important span between 29 Cancer and 3 Leo on November 25-26 and again December 23-24. As noted yesterday, these transits over 1 Leo echo and give form to whatever began to erupt in our lives in March 2010 after a slowdown last Winter.
To re-cap this important influence, Mars' transit of the Leo sector of the Grand Irrationality first began in mid-to-late October 2009. Then Mars went retrograde in December, and occupied the early Leo zone from mid-February through early April 2010. The Moon activated the influence in a big way February 25-26 as Mars was about to go stationary direct. This set The Grand Irrationality into constant motion from then through early April.
This has been a very important "platform" for our activities for all of 2010, launching spontaneous "conflagrations" in whatever area of our chart that 1 Leo occupies each time the Moon or an inner planet triggered the stationary direct point. Most recently, this occurred June 13-15, July 8-10, July 8-10, 12, and 21-23, August 8-9, September 5-6, and October 2-3 and (heads up!) October 29-30.
The main signal points when the inner planets will trigger the effect during this 9 week period are November 2-7 (Sun in Scorpio), December 2-17 (Mercury in Capricorn), December 10-17 (Mars in Capricorn), December 17-23 (Venus in Scorpio), and December 23-28 (Sun in Capricorn.) Thus you can see there will be times that are very active!
If the Moon is also in a zone of the Grand Irrationality during the transit periods mentioned above, the pattern is reinforced or another point is added. In November, that puts a special emphasis on November 5-6 (Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Scorpio - 3 points, 4 planets, at the New Moon!) In December, we find the primary hot spots in time to be December 6-7 (Moon and Mercury in Capricorn - 2 points, 4 planets), December 10-12 (Moon in Aquarius, Mars in Capricorn - 2 points, 4 planets), December 14-15 (Moon in Aries, Mercury in Capricorn - 3 points, 4 planets), December 17 (Mercury in Capricorn, Venus in Scorpio - 3 points, 4 planets), December 19 (Venus in Scorpio, Moon in Gemini - 4 points, 4 planets), December 23 (Venus in Scorpio, Sun in Capricorn, Moon in Cancer/Leo - 4 points, 5 planets!), and December 26-27 (Sun in Capricorn, Moon in Virgo - 3 points, 4 planets).
(I've not included Chiron in any of the above. Since it's conjunct Neptune and sometimes septile Pluto, it obviously adds another factor to the mix, if you're so inclined.)
These days will definitely mark important forks in the road since at times we'll have quite a few points active involving many planets. These will be times when the influence cut across many areas of life.
So during this period, 3 or 4 points will usually be active, with a potential 5th, or 6th whenever the transiting Ascendant or Midheaven transits an empty "hot zone." Given how active December is, we could even have 6 points going simultaneously, making it seem during those days that the influence is non-stop and things will be in constant motion!
Each time the Grand Irrationality is stimulated by the inner planets, it manifests along its most characteristic Pluto in Capricorn-Neptune in Aquarius energies. Throughout last year, the Aquarius conjunctions added intensity to that anchoring aspect and brought the energies of the personality planets to focus the Jupiter conjunct Neptune influence.
This continued through early January 2010 as Jupiter conjuncted Neptune and septiled Pluto. The Capricorn conjunctions all coax forth forms of the Plutonic seeds set into motion by the December 2007 conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto, along with the December 2008 initiatives resulting from Mars conjunct Pluto. This will be triggered in a big way in December, when Mercury and Mars both conjunct Pluto at the Galactic Center!!!
Since the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars all move through at least one of the zones in this forecast period, and the Moon moves through all 7 zones repeatedly, they will trigger changes in the houses ruled by these planets. This will also affect any life areas where we have planets in those hot zones. The houses they occupy as well as rule will be most directly affected.
Since these planets rule 8 of the 12 signs, we will be put through major choices and "forks in the road of destiny" in quite a few areas of our lives. Add that Moons in Virgo echo the Saturn in Virgo energies of the recent past, and the Moon in Aquarius echos the Jupiter in Aquarius influence on the Grand Irrationality, it could be said that every area of our lives will continue to be impacted in major ways. This will show as important changes set into motion by our character choices over the next 9 weeks.
That's why it's important to stay on top of what's being triggered and when as the transiting planets as they move through these zones. Regardless of which zones are triggered when by what, during transits to any of the 7 zones of influence we can expect shifts, changes, forks in the road, irrational or compulsive behavior in self or others, and important times of decision.
Adding to the intensity of this constant influence on our times, we also have other septile configurations that come and go between other planets, some more quickly than others. An example of this is when the inner planets make septiles, biseptiles, and triseptiles to Jupiter and Uranus in late Pisces. Given the powerful influence of Uranus across the entire spectrum of human activity, you could see how this could also trigger major choices and changes in the realm of individuation, innovation, and creative revolution in our personality structure.
When the inner planets all conjuncted Uranus in March, these re-set the Uranian output for the year connected to the areas of life those planets rule. Now, as Uranus occupies the area of 27-28 Pisces, we will have periods when we confront Uranian irrationality and individuation choices.
Jupiter and Uranus occupy 24-30 Pisces during this Autumn. We could expect more forks in the road related to the emergent global individuation process when the Sun and Mercury both triseptiled Jupiter and Uranus between October 14-18 and will again when Mercury and Mars both biseptile them in mid-November.
Of course, the Moon also activates this irrational, revolutionizing influence 7 times a month as well, including the time spans involved with Neptune and Pluto. While not "The Grand Irrationality," this is still a very important force in our individual and collective experience.
Connected to the larger Grand Irrationality pattern, in December 2008 Mars conjuncted Pluto at the Galactic Center. That ended an old cycle that began January 2007 and activated the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction cycle that began December 2007. Given the constant Saturn pressure from the Virgo zone highly active at that time, it set up major shifts globally for 2009.
Mars will make a conjunction with Pluto at 5 Capricorn this coming December 13-14, accompanied with Mercury going stationary retrograde at 6 Capricorn on December 10, 2010 (also exactly conjunct Pluto). This marks a time when the current Mars-Pluto cycle ends and a new one begins. All that we've been going through since December 2008 sets up different Galactic Center manifestations to come in 2011 and 2012. I'll write more about this as this time approaches.
Of some substantial importance, late December 2008 was more volatile than usual due to Jupiter making a waning septile with Uranus. This marked the forming of the seed of the future Jupiter-Uranus cycle that began this year with their conjunction in early Aries in June. That accelerated and expanded the major Cardinal squares and oppositions of 2009-2010-2011-2012-2013.
They again conjuncted on September 18 at 29 Pisces, and will again for the last time for many years at 28 Pisces on January 4, 2011, a few hours after the Solar Eclipse at 14 Capricorn, also on January 4. Those quintiles between the Eclipse and Jupiter/Uranus, along with Venusian trines from late Scorpio, should make 2011-2012-2013 very unique and specialized years of major abundance if we get the right "historical perspective" and drop outmoded images and interpretations. More on that when the Eclipse gets closer.
So during the next few weeks, be balanced as you go deeper, eliminating all that is unnecessary to make your magnetism cleaner and clearer. This can help you attract whatever you need to make your emergent archetypal roles more solid.
Late September into early October began to introduce a theme around how we relate diverse things and build or use lines of communication wisely. How skillfully we do those things determines which direction the "forks in the road of destiny" will take us. Still, stay open to future liberating possibilities, since Mercury and Mars will conjunct in Sagittarius in November, opening adventures and wider abilities to launch into the future!

I need to know about my chart but my mother has no idea what time i was born and my birth certificate does not have the information. i was born in 1958. what should i do?

Robert -- it feels like this has been going on forever. Does this aspecting hark back to or mirror any other period in our history? And once it's "done", do we encounter it again anytime in the next, say, 25 years?
I might just not understand enough about how the stars turn. But I know these are tremendous times. I have folks around me who are scared to death and wanting to jump ship; I keep saying/knowing this is just a passage. But where/when does it smooth out? Sometimes it is just nice to know a projected end date. I am coping well and grateful for the surprising joys; would like to help others find ways to cope also.

Hi Robert, Just catching up & learned uve been poorly :-( I'm donning my now retired nurses hat!! & sincerely hoping you are giving yourself plenty time to re-charge the batteries. Cos going by your on-the- road time & material here i'm feeling a matronly urge to say take it easy ;-) Love & re-cooperation to you.H

Hi All - First, Robert, hope you are feeling better. The flu is a doozy this season - seeing people with all kinds of symptoms and flat on their backs already. So, hopefully you'll have had your fill for the year and built lotsa immunity!
Darwin - I asked sort of the same question a while ago. I had always been taught to use noon for unknown birthtimes but Robert said he uses the sunrise time instead. He was right! Sunrise does seem to be far more accurate than using noon. You should be able to locate the sunrise time for your DOB easily on the internet. Good luck!

Hey ka, "surprising joys". . . imagine that joy being the norm. Yowzer, can the human body acclimate to that? It's quite a sizzle at times.
Hi BritLitChik, is this flu thing related at all to the immunizations they recently administered? Do you have any take on that? Tell me I'm nuts, I'm good with that these days.
