Astrology in November-December 2010 - Venus and Jupiter Go Direct Moving Us Forward into 2011!

Yes, after a long Venus retrograde coupled with Jupiter also retrograde, they both are now direct in motion. This has profound implications for the next 8 months!

As for what this means, now we begin a period where both planets will move across a section of the zodiac for the third time, giving us a chance to apply what we have learned during their retrograde periods. This offers us the ability to cultivate skill in using these planetary functions within the lessons indicated by the degree spans they have transited.

As I've pointed out in previous articles outlining how the retrograde influence works, we first experience the sign lessons when planets cross those spans. Then we get a new look or new experience of those sign lessons when planets retrograde across those spans. Then we get to weave these two approaches or understandings together and apply them when the planets again go direct and cross the span a third time.

In this case, Venus, the planet of love, relationships, values and resources, has gone direct in the final degrees of Libra, the sign it rules. Its time in Scorpio gave us new communication skills, resources, and necessities, and no doubt we've reconnected with people and values from the past that now can move forward in more balanced (Libra) ways.

The losses and intensification we've experienced the past month and a half have shown us what we desire and what we don't, especially in the life areas indicated by the houses where we have late Libra and the first half of Scorpio. Obviously it also impacts the houses where we have Taurus and Libra in our chart.

By way of illustration, in my chart the Venus retrograde fell primarily in my 4th house, so I got a Venusian "review" of my early life experiences, as well as other elements in my adult past. I reconnected with quite a few members of my Spiritual family in my trip to Austin and the east coast, and while this trip was somewhat about work, it also was definitely about reconnecting with people who I love and love me. We've established communications, and it's just the beginning, if my 2011 schedule is any indicator!

Venus went direct at 28 Libra, a degree of experiencing the life that's all around us in order to overcome feelings of isolation and separateness. Rudhyar says the last half of Libra is the "Span of Revelation," and the Scene of Reconstruction. He states this degree is one of "spiritual sustainment given to him who opens himself to his full destiny," "unsolicited help," and "slow realization of betterment."

In his "Astrological Mandala," we are told that this degree is one of realizing our community is sustaining us, and that we are as surrounded by life and our spiritual community as a fish by water. Furthermore, he states that through this degree we can find a sense of "belonging to a greater whole," which in turn can lead us to an "inner assurance."

Dr. Marc Jones says this symbol, "A man in the midst of brightening influences," is one where life's "enduring rewards" come by accepting the "underlying friendliness of the world." We are told this offers us encouragement through our "courage in pressing forward on (our) pilgrimage from darkness to light," which confirms our potential.

He says the keyword is RESPONSIVENESS, and when positive, this degree is "a complete spiritual fellowship with human kind." The implication is that through Venus, we can and will experience a deeper connectedness with others as we again re-trace our late Libra and early Scorpio lessons from now through the Winter Solstice.

This sets a platform for Venusian realizations along these lines and the ability to move forward with a sense of community through 2011. Obviously, if Venus makes aspects to your natal planets from 28 Libra, then by those aspects your planetary functions will be challenged or understood, used productively or become specialized according to the specific aspect Venus makes to your planets. This will impact both the life areas of the houses these occupy, as well as the houses they rule.

Jupiter is now also direct, giving us yet another pass at the span in late Pisces. We experienced these Jupiter in late Pisces lessons the first time in May and early June just before it went into Aries and opened a new world. Then it retrograded back into Pisces in September, and has camped out in the last degrees since then. It will now move forward across that same span preparing to re-enter Aries in late January.

The Jupiter effect works the same way as Venus as per what I outlined above regarding what house it occupies and those it rules in our charts, as well as aspects from Jupiter (with amplification provided by Uranus also in late Pisces!) to natal planets. We certainly now need to end some things as prelude to the renewal of the emergent new reality we were originally shown between June and August 2010.

Jupiter in Pisces has been a time of some very vast feeling experiences, as well as tremendous depth of experiencing what is common to the human condition throughout all time. I wrote more about it earlier this year, so if you want to review what we've all been going through, please check out the articles at the bottom of this one.

Jupiter is now stationary direct at 24 Pisces, a degree of gathering spiritual energies with a sense of interrelatedness with others within our larger field of activity. Rudhyar says the last half of Pisces is the "Span of Protection," and the Scene of Perpetuation. He states this degree is one of "adaptability and inherent creativeness," "centralization of supernal forces," and "surety in self expression."

In his "Astrological Mandala," we are told that this degree is one of needing to accept some types of "limitations in order to concentrate (our) energies and to live a centered and fulfilled life." This is where our ego finds its place in a larger order through understanding the need for certain boundaries, which can and will change as we go through various life experiences. He further states this degree is about being true to our individual Dharma as we realize our "oneness within the whole Earth, which includes everything."

Dr. Marc Jones says this symbol, "An inhabited island," is one where we can demonstrate our "gift for the organization of (our) own private world in any area of (our) special interest." Here we learn through Jupiter our ability to "function in a complete independence of the alien or the unfriendly" and "develop adequate resources for (our) need" even in "barren situations." Here is where we capitalize on potential and coax it to fruition.

He says the keyword is CULTIVATION, and when positive, this degree is "achievement through a creative opportunism or inventiveness of exceptional order." The implication is that through Jupiter, we have opportunities to grow through inventiveness in cultivating potentials within natural limits and thereby get glimpses of how our Dharma functions us as we again re-trace our late Pisces lessons from now through the Winter Solstice.

I've mentioned in other articles that I find it interesting that Venus and Jupiter go direct on the same day and form a biquintile to each other. This would imply that there is an interactive unique relationship between these two functions that offer us all gifts and specialized circumstances as these planetary points are triggered in the future. To note, these two planets now make hot spots in the areas of 28-30 Libra and 22-24 Pisces. As the transiting planets square and oppose these points, we will experience the release of these energies, or find a realization about their themes. When there are sextiles and trines to these points, we will be able to use these themes productively, or understand them in ways that harmonize our life and align with Dharma.

Be alert to unique gifts, qualities, and circumstances coming forth if you have a planet or sensitive point at 16-18 Leo, 10-12 Capricorn, or 4-6 Gemini, since these zones all activate quintile series aspects with the Venus-Jupiter biquintile zones. Of course, transits across these zones will activate the lessons of Venus and Jupiter in big ways for months to come!

Over the next several months, the Moon activates these energies throughout the month. The Sun will power these themes up between Dec 30 and Jan 2, and again Mar 11-13 and May 22-27. We'll get Mercurial ideas, messages, and signals Jan 20-22, March 4-6, and June 4-5.

Venus transits will be particularly meaningful, since it's one of the primary players in this dance. Venus will activate the 5-Pointed Star pattern Feb 11-14, Apr 13-15, and June 11-14. Mars will move these energies into acute focus on December 19-23, March 21-24, and June 24-30. Keep in mind that the effect could be triggered a day or two to either side of these time spans, and will be intensified when the Moon is also in one of the five zones of influence.

Enjoy the gifts and unique interactions to come over the next few months! These two in biquintile while occupying signs they rule is an extraordinarily powerful influence, and promise some very specialized circumstances where we can further our highest good in "one-of-a-kind" ways. Very interesting Robert!

The Venus direct station at 27:39 Libra yesterday at 4:19 p.m. was right on my natal Neptune(-Juno) at 27:20 Libra. Within a few minutes of that exact time, I responded to two telephone calls in a row, one to my cell. phone and one to my landline. Normally I would not pick up either phone since I'm not using that cell. phone these days and Caller ID indicated Unknown Caller on the landline. Anyway I answered both calls, and the substance of both messages was literally and metaphorically connected with the themes of transiting Venus in my second house.

I read something in the comments section of another astrology blog to the effect that the last time Venus and Jupiter stationed direct on the same day was February 15, 1966; they were also in a quincunx aspect with an orb of about 4 degrees at that time. This date was the exact beginning of a 16-year bear market and also marked the introduction of a decimal currency in Australia. This time around, Prince William made public his engagement, GM went public with the highest IPO in history, a man named Peter Diamond was appointed to the Federal Reserve Board and a famous "pink diamond" (the diamond is the stone for Venus in Vedic astrology) was sold for an historically high price of $46 M, among other economic/financial news. All very Venusian themes!

Well, you know, the Venus goes direct on my natal Asc/Neptune in 12th house Libra, this could not be more poignant, although I am still swimming in this amniotic quarantine. I continue to learn, dive deeper and deeper,surrender.

Many of my anaretic degrees now shift. I feel like a big planet getting ready to station!
