Yes, it's THAT time again! Mercury has begun to slow down, and will go stationary retrograde at 25 Aries on Mar 30, 1:48 pm PDT, 9:48 pm Greenwich. This has important implications for all signs.
I'll be composing several articles about this Mercury retrograde in Aries period over the next several weeks. Until then, adapt to the slowing pace of things, be willing to put some things on hold for a little while, and take a look at what's been set into motion up to now with an eye to seeing what has to be done before things can again move forward in 2011.
I know there are many unfortunate things attributed to Mercury retrograde, but there are also many productive things that get done, connections that are made, and different angles of view glimpsed that make our understanding more complete and well rounded.
The past two weeks before the retrograde has been good for setting things in motion that will need a delay before being picked up anew. Or for doing things that will need research, rehearsing, or reworking to whatever degree before completion. The time before Mercury goes retrograde is good for doing what must be done so that other related things can be done later, as well as reconnecting with people and activities from the past that are somehow related to the future.
The coming retrograde will be an extremely important one showing us how to shape our minds to welcome future fulfillment. Though Mercury will not trigger the Grand Irrationality when it hits either station (unlike more than one past Mercury retrograde!), the Grand Irrationality will be triggered numerous times during the 3 weeks that Mercury is retrograde. I'll write more about that in the near future.
This Mercury retrograde will give us many signs and signals for what will dominate early May. It is a threshold time, where we again look back before moving forward. We can get all kinds of new insights into future potentials, while seeing things in the recent past differently.
This period will be highly energized due to Mercury conjunct the Sun, both conjunct Jupiter during the entire retrograde period. Add that these will also oppose Saturn, as will Mars, during the 3 week retrograde and many hard realities and/or concrete opportunities will be very evident by the end of April. Just be willing to let go of lesser duties and limitations, and concentrate on learning, since this retrograde is one where we can train our mind and speech in very favorable ways.
I suppose the best thing about this coming retrograde are the numerous conjunctions to Jupiter, with a touch of "fork in the road of destiny" energy offered up by the Mercury stationary retrograde point septile Venus in early Pisces. This will heat up choices involving Mercury and Venus ruled things and people, with particular emphasis on planets or points around 3-5 Pisces, 24-26 Aries, 16-18 Gemini, 8-10 Leo, 29 Virgo-1 Libra, 20-22 Scorpio, and 11-13 Capricorn.
This will show a turning point in the process of bringing our archetype into manifestation we began last August (1 Libra being the point of the Mars conjunct Saturn at that time!) We can also expect significant events on April 11-14 and the entire first half of May.
The various conjunctions in Aries opposed to Saturn in Libra will dominate the entire retrograde period, as will Mars square Pluto between April 3-20, and Neptune's entry into Pisces, putting that planet in one of the signs it rules for the first time since April 1847. I'll compose more about all of these over the next few weeks, so stay tuned!
For all of us, during the next several weeks the future that's already rolling forward will slow a little so we can get a new look at crucial elements of the process we cannot afford to ignore. This will help us shape our expectations of types of future fulfillment, and many will see one or more promises redeemed. This one helps us rehearse or do the research we need to get ready to spring forward at the end of April. And of course, more on this very important Mercury retrograde period will come soon!
