Uranus is now at the end of the end of Pisces. Tomorrow it will enter Aries again, the sign it will inhabit until May 2018. This is the beginning of the era we've been anticipating and activating since Summer 2010.
Uranus in Aries shows us the promise of a new way of Being and acting in new directions. This is going to bring forms of rebirth wherever we have early Aries in our birth charts. Certainly, everyone who has planets in early Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn is going to experience some fairly radical changes!
Uranus individualizes us according to the Higher Law of our Being. It shows us our creative uniqueness, and can bring forth radical changes that move us into new directions we've never known, or bring forth specialized manifestations of individualizing patterns we've accepted.
We've already gotten a taste of what Uranus in Aries in 2011 will bring, having experienced both Jupiter and Uranus in the first degrees of Aries throughout the Summer of 2010. So in some ways, since Uranus will occupy the first 5 degrees of Aries through March 2012, we're going to be experiencing life revolutions through the Higher Laws appropriate to our Spiritual Individuality we glimpsed last Summer.
So what can we expect from Uranus in Aries? While it certainly augurs the advent of a new 7-year era, as well as a new 84-year era, it's not the first time nor the last time it's been in the volatile, pioneering, impulsive, headstrong, "tip of the spear" sign of Aries!
So though we can expect "revolutionary developments" over the next 7 years, these will be of an Aries nature, just as the "revolutionary developments" of 2003-2011 were of a Pisces nature, and the "revolutionary developments" of 1995-2003 were of an Aquarian nature. We're ALWAYS going through "revolutionary developments" on Earth, just of different natures affecting different parts of our reality.
Here I'll remind you that it often takes many months or even years for these to be evident. The "Sacred Seven" planets anchor the Divine Triad of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in various forms according to their various cycles. That's why some of the Plutonic seeds planted in collective consciousness by Neptune and awakened in individual consciousness by Uranus may take a while before they can be seen in their true nature and broadest expression.
Aries, the sign of the seed sprouting up from the darkness to the light via the medium of seeking heat, seeks to give life to all that is moving it from darkness to light. Aries can be a definitely disruptive influence, but also initiates action entirely of its own motivation.
Aries is a leadership energy, always exploring the unknown, the new, the innovative, and the front-end look at new realities as these spring to life from the 10,000 seeds that are being continually planted by Life itself. And Aries in turn spreads these 10,000 seeds widely. It is not for Aries to tend those seeds, but merely to spread them so that each of the other signs finds the seeds appropriate for them to tend.
Please keep in mind that Uranus in Aries will impact each of us differently, since we've each developed different ways of responding to natal, progressed, or transiting Aries energy. Remember there are both "good" disruptions as well as "bad" ones. Often an abrupt creative turn to the new, even if a bit daunting, is better than staying where there is no more life electricity.
There's a lot being written about the very dramatic developments we should see coming fairly quickly from the entry of Uranus into Aries. However, this is just one more step in the Eternal Dance of human evolution. As I pointed out earlier, there have been many such times in history!
While there will be periods these next 7 years (and beyond!) that seem very disruptive, there have always been such times. At some point a status quo must end, and anything that effects that revolution will be seen as disruptive.
As we move from the old era to the new, it will be helpful to remember that we are collectively birthing a new view of Life, Matter, Energy, Light, Magnetism, and Electricity. We've already made great strides since the end of the Kali Yuga over these past 300 years, and now are fully entering the Dwapara Yuga, said to be the Great Age of "Electromagnetic Remembrance."
As Uranus is "the Awakener," the Brahmanic Divine Force of the Law of Synthesis, we will see the emergence of the new Divine Seeds that were set when Pluto conjuncted the Galactic Center a few years ago. This is the emergent point in Cosmic Time, when new laws, new order, new structures, new governments, new disciplines, and a new sense of responsibility is coming upon the human race.
As we individually act, as we individually create, as we individually synthesize, a more efficient way of doing our Being will come forth. This is the time when the new archetypal roles we explored between November 2009 and April 2010 and brought forth beginning August 2010 will show as individual forms appropriate to our Higher Law driving us toward individualization.
The Seeker who danced on the edge of the threshold in the Summer of 2010 is now demanded to live that dynamic new life! A line from Lucille Clifton seems apropos here: "You might as well answer the door my child, the truth is furiously knocking!
In parts 2 and 3 we'll explore some of the qualities and characteristics of Uranus in Aries, Uranus square Pluto, and previous historical squares of major planets in Aries and Capricorn.

"A line from Lucille Clifton seems apropos here: "You might as well answer the door my child, the truth is furiously knocking!""
Well my door is wide open with my Sun at 9 Aries at the recieving end of a square from transiting Pluto, my Mercury waiting for the imminent arrival of Uranus at Aries Point, with Jupiter/Saturn opposition taking place on my MC/IC axis on the dot in a couple of weeks' time and with the transiting Nodal axis now in Sagittarius/Gemini as they are natally in my chart. Life is not boring in these parts.
My only wish is that Uranus this time around would concentrate more on my Mercury (and the natal Mercury-Uranus-Saturn triangle) and not so much on my Vertex at 0 Capricorn which was the main focus for Uranus last summer (although cannot complain, it was great fun).
Thank you Robert for your wonderful articles. They are a source of constant learning and joy.

Feeling it! I recently embarked on a short course of study (Jupiter/Sun) and the group energy for a bunch of strangers is awesome. There ain't no stoppin' us now!

Hi Robert, Us is the word here. We are all changing, and that makes the world change. Like Joni Mitchell sings in ALL I WANT, '... I love you some, when I forget about me'. Tic Toc, don't stop. Thank you so much.

Ahh!! Love the quote!
Sometimes I many get a bit tangled up here and there, but as Pacino says in Scent Of a Woman. "If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, just tango on."
Great article Robert.
Enjoyed this too..

Lots of new disruptions...it has begun...on the global level look for necessary wars to involk change and break from stagnation, witness the violence, war, economic collapse, etc. it will be a turbulant and disruptive time, but if you look at the arc of time astrology has been predicting 2012 for years, uranus in aries is the start of the age of aquarius. Let's get out the lawnchairs and watch for nukes!
Personally and since the start of this thing I've lost a good job, my income, my apartment, all in a matter of weeks. but...I guess its necessary for me to let go of all of that because it no longer served me progress. so I'll strengthen ties with siblings, move to a new neighborhood, move on and find new work. with pluto in libra in my natal ninth opposite the third who knows....? All astrology can be associated with our life events...it is in our desire to believe in such connections that validates Astrology. Very entertaining...however seperate from tangible reality...still lots of fun.
Hope all is well with you

Robert,
as uranus enters aries we see japan get hit by an earthquake and tsunami! all I can say is wow! it appears that Uranus in aries is starting out with shock and awe! I am praying for those who had lost heir lives and those who's lives are affected by what had just transpired.

It is not my intention to be contentious, but haven't earthquakes and tsunamis always happened? Has there really been an increase or has the media just hyped it up so it appears more has gone awry. It's interesting to examine Christian prophecy sites and see the parallels between their way of thought and this way of thought. Both view these surreal events (which always seem to take place as the earth is a living organism and that's what living organisms do) as a catalyst to either the end times or a massive existential re-birth. Before anyone jumps on the band wagon of, "Yes there are definitely more catastrophic events and more deaths and more...." consider looking into some solid peer reviewed meteorological data and consider the implications of the increase in technology compared to the rise in awareness of catastrophe. If these times are critical, as so many believe them to be, then be critical, very critical.

Hi Dan - I fundamentally agree with your approach. Most of what I write has a sub-theme of learning how to be a critical thinker. That said, I don't see where anyone or anything I've written states Earth changes only happen at such and such a time. I did say "We're ALWAYS going through 'revolutionary developments' on Earth, just of different natures affecting different parts of our reality." I believe there are times of greater and lesser intensity and frequency to the changes that are reported. These can be correlated to astrological phenomena, though no one has written about it. Of course there are periods of greater frequency of certain phenomena - that's evident. In only one instance, the major earthquakes in CA do have a cycle of greater and lesser intensity over decades. While I don't have time to research all the data there is out there about the relative stability or instability of the 7 year periods when Uranus is in a given sign, I'm sure readers will soak up and greater appreciate any peer reviewed data you find that supports or invalidates what people believe about Uranus in Aries (or any other sign, or any other planet in a given sign) associated with Earth changes. I always appreciate good research work. Please feel free to offer whatever you find that truly validates or invalidates popular conceptions. That's also a sub-text of this site. All of us are smarter than each of us.
