The Full Moon at 28 Libra-Aries has some pretty substantial aspect activity. It's the Moon and Saturn balancing all the other planets, with Pluto still chillin' on the sidelines!
As this Lunation falls in the third to the last degrees of Libra and Aries, it shows a final synthesis before the natural fulfillment of the archetypal roles the signs indicate. What is coming forth from this Full Moon will show us how our transformational process can be seen and experienced within a dynamic action field of experience that expresses as ideal forms of connectedness arising from doing some kind of repair work.
Quite a few of the recent past Full Moons were supposedly what is called "Void of Course" since they fell on the final degrees of the sign and made no forming aspects before leaving the sign. The last Full Moon was very different since it did make significant aspects before it left its sign, and this one also makes a very important forming aspect which I'll discuss shortly. For now, as I've done in recent Full Moon articles, I want to clarify some things about a Void of Course Moon.
Supposedly a "Void of Course" Moon shows that nothing significant will happen concerning events at that time. That is a very limited and erroneous view of an astrological phenomenon. Life is infinite and ever-changing demonstrating its robustness through "the 10,000 things" that eternally come and go in the course of an eternal stream of interrelated events. Since all that arises are part of our magnetic field within the larger Unified Field of Consciousness, how could there ever be a time "when nothing significant happens?"
So regardless of the supposedly VOC Full Moons at this time in history, we must search for the meaning of the configurations since they reveal the evolving Divine Patterns in the NOW. Remember that we have the power to act or react from our center of Higher Awareness, and are not victims of astrological patterns.
As an aside, besides the objections I raised in my articles on the Void of Course Moon, historically the VOC Moon was used ONLY in Horary Astrology before the latter part of the 20th century. That would seemingly limit the validity in applying it in the other branches of Astrology, including any evaluation of a Lunation where the Moon falls in the final degree(s) of a sign.
This Lunation finds the Moon at 28 Libra. Apart from what I've just stated, this Lunation would not be VOC anyway, as the Moon makes a very tight triseptile to Uranus. This Lunar triseptile puts pressure on how we feel about a greater freedom or ability to show our unique qualities to the world on our own terms.
This aspect is interactive, irrational, and brings us to "forks in the road of destiny" wherever transiting Moon and Uranus are in our natal charts. As Uranus indicates the inclination to revolution and new directions, and it's at 3 Aries, we shall all confront choices in how we want to package the new life that we began to live Summer 2010.
Furthermore, there's a larger life that beckons each of us, where we have the potential to become a unique form of inspiration to others to the degree we identify with a larger life purpose and function. For many, a personality crisis, or a shift in who we relate to and why. Some will find "fated connections," and others will see things busted for what isn't right. Just remember that sometimes the old must end to create the space for the new to appear.
The spans most affected by this aspect are 2-4 Aries, 23-25 Taurus, 14-16 Cancer, 6-8 Virgo, 27-29 Libra, 19-21 Sagittarius, and 11-13 Aquarius. That means birthdays in late March, mid-May, early July, late August, mid-October, mid December, and early February will see a great big light in the two weeks to come!
Also affected in major ways are those born 1948-49, 1951-64, 1967, 1970-71, 1973-75, 1978-87, and 1992. This is because these groups all have one or more outer planets affected by this triseptile. Destiny is on the move!
The Lunation also makes numerous "out of sign" forming aspects, showing a change in conditions must occur before they come into play. Among the more important aspects are Moon trine Neptune while the Sun sextiles Neptune, creating a powerful productive and stabilizing energy throwing the focus to the areas of 28 Leo and 1 Virgo. Be open to a future potential where it'll be important to be able to see the whole from a few key parts.
As you already know, the Grand Irrationality is in major play right now due to Jupiter septile Neptune and biseptile Pluto. All Lunations or other events, such as Lunar Returns and ingress charts that happen during the next two weeks, have this event working on those chart energies. So this time and the important choices being made now will affect all of us for years to come, precipitating new futures, new relationships, and new tasks.
You can find out more about The Grand Irrationality by going to the article 21st Century Astrology - What is the Grand Irrationality and Why Is Everything So Strange?. This long wave non-rational configuration is regularly activated by Lunations and transits, so please take a look if you want to know why things are so weird and hard edged right now in history.
You can also find more about the various coming transits and when we'll be in the thick of things by going to Astrology in March, April, and May of 2011 - Mercury and the Other Planets Activating the Grand Irrationality. If you want some skills and views to make coping with these times a little easier, here's How To Dance With The Global Strangeness of The Grand Irrationality.
Other important forming aspects, showing things to come in the future, are Mercury retrograde conjunction with Mars opposed Saturn, Venus conjunct Uranus and binovile Pluto, and Mars conjunct Jupiter opposition Saturn and semisquare Neptune. I can't go extensively into what each of these means, as there are too many possibilities.
That said, taken together they indicate a need to act on the realizations we've gotten the past several weeks while Jupiter opposed Saturn, not get misdirected or deflected by disputes that are meaningless or won't turn out the way we think, and learn to think outside the box or our own or anyone else's perceptual traps and frames.
There are tremendous potentials in motion, and various Aries waves have been and continue to be set into motion wherever Aries falls in our charts. There are greater works to be done with those who are more suited to who we are, and as we practice patience and embrace a new identity, we can move into glimpsing a greater fulfillment than we've seen before.
We'll grow through anticipating using powers that are just now showing up, and playing with the rhythm of how things unfold. Figure out what you need to play your new role(s), and survey your social situation and see if it has what you require.
As Mars forms an opposition to Saturn and conjunction to Jupiter, it makes a "collection of light" and re-activates the Jupiter opposed Saturn. As I mentioned last month, the major issue of this opposition is to get rid of old "rules" or subconscious expectations that make our progress more difficult than it needs to be, and find a place of greater service or purpose with others who are organized, mature, responsible, and balanced.
Mercury retrograde also plays a part in how this will manifest, since it's forming a conjunction with Mars and opposition to Saturn, even though it's separating from its conjunction with Jupiter. This makes Mars in Aries the gathering force for all the Aries energies, doing a balanced dance with Saturn which structures and organizes.
This opposition along this axis shows that the enthusiastic expansion and pioneering directives of Jupiter in Aries as the way to express whatever Saturn in Libra "means" for us, and allows a Saturn balance, maturity, and patience to express the wisdom and promise of Jupiter in Aries. With Mars energizing this awareness-producing balanced initiative line of polarity, just go for the expanding tide and let go of activities going wrong directions. Those are the ones where you'll feel out on a limb, or too far out beyond your safety limit.
We can master discouragement and pessimism by seeing how it's a misdirected energy, and if we can just find an adequate justification for a cherished ideal, we shall be able to achieve it. It merely requires seeing how to make a form of success worth its price, and be as creative as possible in greeting a challenge.
This huge wave shows everything is moving forward, so don't cling to the past one second longer than it takes you to let go. The only thing you're leaving behind is beating your head against a wall that doesn't care.
Because Venus is still in late Pisces, deep feelings of endings and passages are still in the Astral atmosphere. Still, this is the point of fulfillment, where some things have to become clear so that a new sense of relatedness can arise, and new compassionate commitments can be forged. Again, try to sense and flow toward identifying with a larger life, and you could become a source of inspiration to others down the road.
One important factor in this season is that Neptune now stands on "the cusp of the Age." 1 Pisces is the point our world is at right now, and since the last Full Moon we've seen the elegance and grace of Venus merge with and focus the energies of the Collective Consciousness.
We now can feel a vast connectedness with all Life and all Time. This degree is one of joyously rallying as we begin the closing of a long cycle. Fairness is paramount in all dealings, and with both Saturn and this Full Moon in Libra, the scales are weighing many things right now.
Dr. Marc Edmund Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, points out that the first degree of Pisces, "the cusp of the Age," is "a symbol of full maturity in (humanity's) social estate, with an emphasis on the group integrity" facilitating each to develop their special patterns. This degree is about a willingness for each of us to do our part in the larger "common ideals of a community life."
Here we refine our ambition through "a consistent generosity toward the aims of others with a real intensity of effort directed toward its own ends." The keyword is COMMERCE, and when positive, this degree "is an exceptional capacity for organizing the converging and conflicting interests of many people in practical arrangements of mutual benefit."
Separating aspects show things past. The primary separating aspects made by the Moon are a quincunx to Venus, opposition to Jupiter, conjunction to Saturn, and quintile to Pluto. The Sun also separates from a conjunction with Jupiter, opposition to Saturn, and tredecile to Pluto. Other separating aspects are Mercury conjunct Jupiter (still curiously in play indirectly through its forming conjunction with Mars)and semisquare Neptune. Even though Jupiter is well past its opposition to Saturn, it's still being reactivated as explained above.
Venus rules the Moon in the Lunation, while Mars and Pluto rule the Sun. Venus has only forming aspects, showing impending revolutions into new initiatives and beautiful and/or pleasing forms of individuation after something of a natural role is demonstrated via Pluto. Seeds of long term realizations are now being released that will allow us to play more enjoyable roles!
Mars and Pluto ruling the Sun shows a crisis of redirection in the past is now taking new steps into new identities. Again, beware of impatience. Of the two, Mars is the stronger as it occupies Aries. The ruler of the Sun conjunct Mercury retrograde and Jupiter shows the initiation of new and different views and ideas we've pondered before, along with action that promises a wider, more abundant future.
Mars is driving a great big wave that will carry many little waves along with it. As you can infer, this will continue to build for the next few weeks, and will move us all wherever we have mid-to-late Aries in our charts. When it too moves through the Aries zone of the Grand Irrationality, then go with whatever appears that offers a better life!
We will be getting a LOT of diverse signals between April 21-25, since during that time Mercury goes stationary direct on the same degree Mars occupies in this Lunation chart. Whatever messages and clear signals we get around then will be followed by Mars immediately triggering the Grand Irrationality, so you can bet destiny is on the move!
This Lunation, like the past two, is a See Saw pattern. That shows that our entire experience of the larger ongoing conditions puts the focus on staying centered and not getting lost in the margins even while exploring the outer limits of the field. If you find yourself seesawing between views or energies, try to find the way to mediate between opposing views by finding the third or fourth points that harmonize the opposites. We had many See Saw Full Moons in 2010, so this energy should be somewhat familiar, even if it does force us to stay balanced!
The Moon and Saturn are the planets outside the occupied span. Since the occupied span leads with Pluto in Capricorn and ends with the Sun, approach experience using economy of energy to sprout the seeds of a new law or new way of life, and close experience with seeing how to be more focused by busting a misunderstanding and putting a new light on old assumptions and ideas.
To sum up, this Lunation will help us strip away discouraging, deflecting, or "drag on the line" influences, where we can take a new look at how and what we're doing and why, opening to a larger life, a greater effective compassion, and a more alive sense of community. Here are some final dues to pay, probably related to some Venusian life event, person, or factor that transpired November 2010. Just keep opening to the "brightening influences" around you, and start seeing how your life is becoming better than it used to be.
Here we continue to be able to experience a feeling of union with others in a larger field of Light/Life. As with all Lunations at the final degrees of their signs, this one is fulfilling, completing, and shows us a gateway to new sign experiences. Despite the powerful oppositions between Libra and Aries in this Lunation, this period will help us heal into our Higher Selves by showing us how to master discouragement through seeing what is good and valuable.
We can accomplish much within community at this time, where our warmth of character can help us to accomplish something that contributes to the group. This can show us what concerns us and others regarding the well being of individuals, leading to a sense of what is of true benefit to one and all.
As with last month, harvest what need harvesting, see the seeds of future potential, reflect on past experiences to find wisdom you can share with others, choose which seeds to sprout that can bring you the light of a greater personal effectiveness and authorship, and see a larger ideal within a group context. As with the past several months, we now stand at a cosmic point of fulfillment.
The next two weeks offer us opportunities to see a clear (if indirect) path to fulfillment and greater connected compassion. Follow your feelings into ideas and visions, and then get more information before you decide or act. Keep putting one foot in front of the other, don't get lost in discouraging, limiting, or pessimistic atmospheres, and say goodbye to old local conditions.
Continue to break free of old rules, limitations, fears, and "shoulds." Keep letting go of being seduced or distracted by dire visions, false equivalencies, skewed senses of perception or proportion, or a senseless defeatism. Be creative, be determined, take the first step and keep walking the way into a new life, and keep anticipating a freer, more playful life to come.
Let go of perceptions and relationships that divert you from the ideals and visions you really care about. As with past weeks, the coming two weeks are about clarity and compassion, repair work and new openings, and seeing your unique qualities that the world can recognize and reward consistently.
Accept the endings, accept the rewards, accept the new identity, accept what you can do, and accept what you cannot influence. There are greater possibilities ahead than we may have suspected, or as the English Bard so aptly put it, "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy...."
Make sure you're pointed in the right direction, and then flame on!

Hi, Robert. Another great article to mull over and ponder for me. I have some interesting news. I have been asked to do a radio show on my experience with a numerologist and a woman who does Feng Shu as well as tarot. If you want the links to that I will post them but only if you want me to. They will also feature one of my songs.

Hi Micheline - Thanks for clearing it first. Of course you may share the link to the radio show with the community! By all means, if we can tap into it via the internet let us know how!! (Reminds me of the I Ching line, "One is enriched through unfortunate events...."

Hi Robert! I have been reading the "papers" for two years now and have never posted before. My sun is at 28 degrees 55 minutes of Libra (Cancer Rising and Leo Moon) and I totally relate and validate everything you are saying in this article. Every single aspect you discuss is playing out in my life right now. I feel encouraged that you can put it all into words. For me it's mostly just feelings and a determination to never give up moving toward the small but glowing light at the end of the tunnel I am inching along. Thank you! Mary Pat

"...keep anticipating a freer, more playful life to come...seeing your unique qualities that the world can recognize and reward consistently." You always articulate it perfectly. Thank you, Robert! I'm starting to breathe freer already :)
