Been on the road for almost 2 weeks, and about to join the Gathering of Eagles in Northern New Mexico in a few days. The Sun just entered Leo on Friday in the Western Hemisphere, and is now in orb of a triseptile to Pluto, coming off the quincunx to Neptune and thus making a triseptile to it as well.
As most of you who have been reading this column know, the Grand Irrationality is set into motion each time a planet moves through any of the 7 "hot zones" where conjunctions, septiles, biseptiles, or triseptiles are made to Neptune or Pluto, the anchors of the configuration. Right now the Sun is passing through the early Leo zone, with Venus about to transit that zone as well in a week or so.
Each time it's triggered, we confront choices and changes in our potential destiny. As the Sun represents the Light/Life that shines in a steady manner throughout the year, illuminating each point of the zodiac in our chart, when the Sun triggers the Grand Irrationality we can see the light of past choices that created our present "destiny," and/or see the light of current choices creating our future.
At this time in history, the 7 "hot zones" of the Grand Irrationality are around 5-9 Capricorn, 29 Aquarius-3 Pisces, 20-24 Aries, 11-15 Gemini, 2-6 Leo, 23-27 Virgo, and 14-18 Scorpio. If you have a planet in these degree zones, expect to confront important choices and "forks in the road of destiny" in that area of your life, as well as the houses that planet rules.
So over the next few days, remember that this is a time of light/life putting some decisions on our plates that will have important implications down the road. It's certainly true in my own situation, as well as the situations of quite a few others I know. Be clear about your nobility, your authorship, your dominion, your fruitfulness, and what makes your "realm" prosper. Be a good ruler of your domain, and you will see the light of peace and power come forth.
On a final note for today, due to the last Full Moon, we also have another major configuration of a non-rational nature that has been setting important choices and changes into motion involving the Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, and Saturn. These were all in septile series forming aspects to each other, making for 4 points of a 7 Pointed Star, creating major forks in the road wherever these fall and rule in our charts.
As I mentioned in part 2 of this past Full Moon, specific hot zones activated in our charts are 7-9 Taurus, 28-30 Gemini, 19-21 Leo, 11-13 Libra, 2-4 Sagittarius, 23-25 Capricorn, and 15-17 Pisces. Wherever the Full Moon at 23 Capricorn fell in our chart has been the focus of some critical choices, and affects the house affairs where we have Cancer on the cusp. The house involving transiting Mercury at 19 Leo at that Full Moon will be where we are finding crucial insights or information that affects the houses where we have Gemini and Virgo on the cusp.
The same concepts hold true for Jupiter and Saturn. Where they are transiting is where we're getting a broader vision or a greater truth (Jupiter) and new responsibilities or a sense of purpose (Saturn.) As Saturn rules the Moon in the last Lunation, that particular biseptile is very powerful, and would indicate some major personality choices around parts of our life where they're transiting.
As I mentioned earlier, it has certainly been true for me. This period, though there are no dramatic transit to transit aspects going on, is very important in determining our future, wherever these "fork in the road" choices and changes are happening. Choose wisely and well, since destiny is on the move!

I woke up reading the sad news about "madman"'s act in Oslo and on Utoya island (Near Oslo), Norway. Near 100 people is killed, mostly youngsters at camp. We had a sad Sunday today in whole Scandinavia.
I wish that people change - in peace.

This Grand Irrationality business sucks.

Hi Robert,
I asked a question recently ref next months full moon at 21-22 Aquarius, which falls ontop of my chiron in the 5th, which opposses Uranus in the 11th...which then also squares both my Sun/Moon which opposse each other in Scorp/Taur.
Im noticing an ability to speak/express real feelings, regardless of consequenses, fear. In the full moon article for July, 19-21 Leo is part of the grand irrationality, my Uranus at 21 Leo/11th. I went looking for articles on Chiron opp Uranus and found some interesting info..ref "running away/avoidance/illness-immune issues". Im wondering if next months full moon ontop of my chiron, and this full moons inclusion of 21 Leo-my uranus/11th (opportunities-groups-hopes-dreams-self employment-friendships)...is about becoming aware/awake to the "addiction/avoidance/running away" and choosing to face life/fears/speaking my truth-feelings....which then lead to strengthening, and new doors opening quickly-suddenly(Uranus)?
Madonna's "Express yourself-don't repress yourself"
comes to mind...
grasias amigo...

Hello Robert,
Thank you for these very informative and unique articles. I have a question that's been bothering me for a while. I read past articles on the Grand Irrationality and I found that in recent years my natal chart was highly aspected. For example, in 2008 you wrote:
During July-August 2008, the hot zones of The Grand Irrationality are approximately 27 Sagittarius-2 Capricorn, 21-26 Aquarius, 11-16 Aries, 2-7 Gemini, 25-30 Cancer, 16-21 Virgo, and 7-12 Scorpio depending on the exact degrees of Neptune and Pluto.
Now, in my natal chart my Neptune is at 28 Sagittarius (6th house), Venus is at 25 Aquarius (8th), Sun is at 12 Aries (10th), Ascendant at 24 Cancer, IC at 25 Virgo and Jupiter at 9 Scorpio (5th).
From what I've read most of those planets and points would have been in the thick of the Grand Irrationality from 2008 to 2010. But, I've also read that subsequent Grand Irrationality transits can trigger more information based on past decisions made during previous transits. Well, beginning last fall and earlier this year (particularly throughout this past spring), I've come to the conclusion that I may have made bad choices during the 2008-2010 period. I don't really know what to do. Should I wait until subsequent Grand Irrationality periods to actively make changes, or should I just be passive and wait for changes to occur?
Given that there is so much to consider when the Grand Irrationality affects so many points in one's chart over such a long period of time (24 months), what can one do but feel paralysed, or make a mixture of excellent, good, fair, poor and awful decisions that affect so many different areas of life? And, then, subsequently, what can one do about those decisions as far as revising them?
Thank you.

Robert...hope your dental work went well!!!
a follow-up to the above question. I was checking out my chart, and noticed I have Chiron/5th quintile Mercury/2nd. Will the full moon falling on my chiron, "activate" that quintile...which I assume is a gift, once i demonstrate somthing? Which I believe has to do with speaking/expression...old fear of?
The last cancer eclipse conj my MC which I have a BQ to Jupiter and mercury conj in the 2nd??????
In the grand irrationality I have 21 leo-Uranus 11th,
12 libra Ascendent-with saturn kissing it....
I "feel" there is somthing on the horizon...
digging deeper and deeper....

WHR, I have the opp too. I don't see running and avoidance as bad survival tools. After all, we are human and not immune to all toxins at all times? And isn't it just like the abuser or the one setting me up for a fall, to say you're just afraid, come with me against your better judgement.
As I get older I am tired of running. I have finally accepted that I am having a human experience. That I am human. By owning what I am experiencing, I think I am moving toward making better choices so that I am not caught up in the wars that turn into life threatening situations. I don't want to live like a refugee, as the song goes.

omg WHR, I must thank you for your reference to immunity in relationship to the chiron uranus opp. I am getting that perhaps my sensitivity to toxins is increased during transits affecting those points? This new moon is within 3 deg natal uranus. I could not know this without knowing what wellness feels like (it's been awhile). The good side of increased sensitivity is that herbal remedies work well. Thanks again. I'll be watching it.
