The Full Moon at 23 Capricorn-Cancer has substantial aspect activity. It's a radical departure for all houses and planets involving Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces!
While this Lunation does not trigger the Grand Irrationality, if you think things have been weird up to now. prepare for stranger things to come! The Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, and Saturn are all in septile series forming aspects to each other, making for 4 points of a 7 Pointed Star, creating major forks in the road wherever these fall and rule in our charts.
Specific hot zones activated in our charts are 7-9 Taurus, 28-30 Gemini, 19-21 Leo, 11-13 Libra, 2-4 Sagittarius, 23-25 Capricorn, and 15-17 Pisces. Wherever this Full Moon at 23 Capricorn falls in our chart is the focus of some critical choices, and will affect the house affairs where we have Cancer on the cusp. Wherever transiting Mercury at 19 Leo falls will be where we find crucial insights or information that will affect the houses where we have Gemini and Virgo on the cusp.
It's the same with Jupiter and Saturn. Where they are transiting is where we're getting a broader vision or a greater truth (Jupiter) and new responsibilities or a sense of purpose (Saturn.) As Saturn rules the Moon, that particular biseptile is very powerful, and would indicate some major personality choices around parts of our life where they're transiting.
Also, of some importance in this Lunation is that Mercury is on the same degree where it will go stationary direct on August 26-27 after its 3 1/2 week retrograde period which will be a "liberating ordeal" for everyone. So perhaps the 19 Leo theme of freedom from social rigidity and joy in human fellowship making life freer and happier is now set in motion, with it being our Mercurial lesson over the next 44 days.
Remember that the qualities of the Full Moon express whatever new directions we were shown at the New Moon. You will recall its was an Solar Eclipse that no one on Earth saw, which to me symbolizes an effect that is hidden, but in force nonetheless.
Its theme is one of being crafted for a more perfect social worth or function, where we can hit "an acme of civilized living" or at least a heightened sense of style, class, or personal display. Here's more about the seeds being release by the current Full Moon. Briefly, from the Solar Eclipse New Moon article covering this period,
Over the next 4 weeks, the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Cancer will ground us, helping us make major decisions to reorient so we can express some facet of our fulfilled self related to the Aries wave of major conjunctions between mid-March and mid-May that stabilized into new discoveries and views during the past 2 months. These discoveries helped liberate us from the past, and freed us from burdens we no longer need to bear.......This period involves crafting some element of our life to demonstrate a form of "perfection" and/or that which is of social worth. Here we express something we've trained for, actualizing potentials and demonstrate some form of "spiritual fulfillment...."
Saturn continues to be a very powerful influence since it is the nozzle of the Bucket Jones pattern and in its sign of "exaltation." That means Saturn's discipline and personal power focus is able to become very effective as it shows balance, rhythm, moderation, and reasonableness in how we demonstrate it.
Saturn in this Eclipse chart indicates we need to find a greater kindness in how and what we communicate, as well as a willingness to assist or cooperate, or be assisted. As it is the nozzle for all the other planets, it is the primary focus of the Lunation.
Saturn continues to bring us new lessons related to the duties, responsibilities, and sense of limits set into motion in January. These are related to understanding consequences from past actions and inactions, as well as the need to be aware of future consequences for our actions or the actions of another....
...We are all learning a lot about Dharma during Saturn's stay in Libra, as well as what we should not be trying to prop up through a misplaced sense of responsibility or obligation. If we run into roadblocks or delays, it should tell us a lot about patience, as well as what limitations and burdens we can live with and what we cannot.
a little more about the seeds of this period:
Overall, due to the mix of Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, and Cancer energies, this will be a natural expansive and grounding New Moon period, where we can find new ways to understand consequences, past and current endings, as well as rights and duties. Many new ways to understand what's past and what's present will be born, along with an ability to demonstrate freedom and movement despite the limiting conditions of the outer world. Here we turn a big corner in our lives, putting the brakes on some old limitations and drags on our lines, and can open to seeing many things in our past as symbols, giving them new meaning. A new worldly "law" is about to make its appearance, as are new ways to get beyond fear through demonstrating harmlessness. We will be offered ways to bring beauty out of "wilderness" and capitalize on opportunities to refine something of value in our world.
Jupiter is still showing us that we must discard the past in some way if we would open the door to self-renewal. This is a gateway to self-transcendence, but only as well allow ourselves to be born out of illusion into a new view of reality. Still, weigh alternatives as you stand on the threshold of a new life, and you may be able to find wisdom or insight from past experiences seen in a new light.
This is a time of a different sort and set of "turning points," of yearning for a new life while also seeing some things melt down pretty fast. The offset Grand Cardinal Cross shows many things have been wrecked before now, with this Eclipse finishing the job. Order, discipline, self-reliance, and a pioneering attitude are the antidotes for any heaviness, resistance, or sense of being bogged down by lesser things even as greater things beckon.
Though we're all in a very weird dreamscape and will be for years to come, we can now apply new strengths and understanding freed from the ghosts of the past, and by riding the waves of intense (but curiously steady) pulses of spiritual energies shaping our minds, we can find techniques where our efforts will lead us to forms of good fortune.
As I wrote last month, quite a few Full Moons of last Autumn and Winter were supposedly what is called "Void of Course" since they fell on the final degrees of the sign and made no exact forming aspects before leaving the sign. I clarified the entire subject of what makes a Moon "void of course" in past Full Moon articles, and why I don't think there is such a thing. In any case, recent Full Moons all made significant aspects before the Moon left its sign, and this one continues the pattern, thus ending the issue of whether the Lunation is void of course or not.
This Lunation finds the Moon at 23 Capricorn, making a triseptile to Mercury, biquintile to Mars, biseptile to Jupiter, biseptile to Saturn, and a quintile to Uranus. This Moon is highly specializing, and collects the light of the separating Mars quintile Uranus putting that aspect back into play. These three create a potential 5 pointed Star, or Great Quintile, involving 4-6 Aries, 16-18 Gemini, 28-30 Leo, 10-12 Scorpio, and 22-24 Capricorn.
If we have planets or points in these zones, expect highly specialized experiences, unique gifts and interactions with others and even circumstances. You can see how this Full Moon on a degree of rewards for our courage will produce both unique and specialized situations, as well as situations where our choices will determine our destiny across many areas of our lives for a long time to come!
Other important forming aspects in this Full Moon chart involve Mercury decile Venus, biseptile Jupiter, septile Saturn, and sesquisquare both Uranus and Pluto, making a frictional "Kite" pattern with Mercury as the focus of the irritation. So unlike the Moon's high specialization, Mercury gets agitated toward liberation from old rigidities so it may find joy over the next 7 weeks.
Venus, occupying the same degree as the star Sirius, is conjunct the Sun and sesquisquare Neptune, the Sun is decile Mars, tredecile Uranus and biquintile Neptune, Mars is novile Jupiter, tredecile Neptune, and quadranovile Pluto, and Jupiter is triseptile Saturn. Here the Full Moon forms an opposition-quintile-tredecile with Uranus, throwing serendipitous energy back to 5 Libra, coincidentally the same degree of Saturn's RX station in January 2010.
This degree is one of "greatness calling its own to itself," where we get to apply our spiritual truths in practical forms. So in some way, we can reclaim some element of our "greatness" in the form of a gift during this Full Moon period, most likely in a highly specialized interactive situation.
Interesting separating aspects, showing things just past, include Mercury sextile Mars, Venus square Saturn and opposed Pluto, Mars trine Saturn and quintile Uranus (the quintile made active again by the Moon as explained above), and Jupiter trine Pluto. Taken together these show many diverse areas of life where we achieved productivity, stability, and understanding, though there have also been elements of banishing old people and useless rules and restrictions.
Overall we're solidly launched into a new collective experience with an ability to anticipate future conditions using knowledge and skill, some of these being "out of this world," due to Venus conjunct Sirius. This is the next BIG fork in the road in many areas of our lives, and so expect the weird wild ride set into motion about 18 weeks back to continue while accelerating! Free yourself, find "permanence in Truth," imagine living at a higher, less limited level, share and compare information with others, and renew your dedication.
As I've mentioned in other Lunation articles, a major factor in this season is that Neptune now stands on "the cusp of the Age." 1 Pisces is the point our world is at right now. We now can feel a vast connectedness with all Life and all Time. This degree is one of joyously rallying as we begin the closing of a long cycle. Fairness is paramount in all dealings, and with Saturn in Libra, the scales are weighing many things right now.
Dr. Marc Edmund Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, points out that the first degree of Pisces, "the cusp of the Age," is "a symbol of full maturity in (humanity's) social estate, with an emphasis on the group integrity" facilitating each to develop their special patterns. This degree is about a willingness for each of us to do our part in the larger "common ideals of a community life."
Here we refine our ambition through "a consistent generosity toward the aims of others with a real intensity of effort directed toward its own ends." The keyword is COMMERCE, and when positive, this degree "is an exceptional capacity for organizing the converging and conflicting interests of many people in practical arrangements of mutual benefit."
Saturn and Uranus rule the Moon in the Lunation, while the Moon rules the Sun, again reinforcing its importance in this 2 week period. Saturn and Uranus are separating from the opposition, showing we can take a look back at how the "Cosmic Centrifuge" purified us over the past several years so we could eliminate denser parts of our life we no longer needed. As Saturn is in a major non-rational aspect pattern, while Uranus is specializing the Full Moon, expect unique and strange things to come!
To sum up, this Lunation will help us join with others where we can find or demonstrate our special gifts and knowledge, and receive rewards for our courage in doing what we have done.
The next two weeks offer us opportunities to join in fellowship with others who share our interests AND offers chances for us to learn from their gifts and they from ours. Many will find a good compensation for work done in the past, and with no major frictional aspects in play (other than the long term Uranus square Pluto showing upheaval through 2013) this period will be highly specializing with gifts despite the agitation of the sesquisquares.
Many will find an enduring Truth, or "permanent value" during this time which will affect their dedication and what is to be anticipated. Sharing and growth toward a happy social integration will be very favorable, as will transforming the physical into more ethereal forms of potency.
So despite the weirdness, it should be a fairly happy time for many, with lots of interactions that show us the limitlessness of our experience. Follow your feelings into decisions and actions that help you integrate what need integrating, and then get more information and new ideas to come to a clear vision. Allow your information files to be updated, and follow the flow into new actions.
This is a very active and diverse time, with activities spanning 8 signs. Take a broad view, take the initiative, use your imagination, be gently and sweetly determined, keep it simple and straightforward, and move step by careful step into walking the way into a new life, while anticipating a freer, more playful life to come.
As with past weeks, the coming two weeks are about clarity and compassion, simplicity and new understanding that ground the new initiatives of the past 16 weeks. The peaceful, gentle wisdom patterns we generated in May are now going to show us how we've been released through powerful transformations set into motion in June.
While the first half of June set forth the seeds of transformational energies leading us to strength, the second half of June revealed those transformational energies in forms of play. Now we get to hang with like minded beings while receiving rewards for discharging our duties before now.

Sweeet! What a great post...especially enjoyed reading, "be gently and sweetly determined, keep it simple, and move step by careful step into walking the way into a new life, while anticipating a freer, more playful life to come."
Yes and thanks!

Robert,
As always, thanks for giving us clarity to very deep and complicated changes.

I have a question about transits that might be kind of remedial but would help dispel some confusion I am having. For example, the current position of Jupiter at 6 degrees Taurus does not transit any of the planets in my birth chart, but falls into the middle of my 12th house with my ascendant at 19 degrees Taurus. So, when looking at how this transit effects my birth chart, should I be looking towards my 12th house, ascendant, or the 1st house?

Awesome post thankyou Robert. The previous seed moon was conjunct my progressed sun and your article is so spot on for my experiences over the last few weeks; as the universe supports my transforming into a bolder and more authentic expression of my dharma:-) cheers and blessings

Hey there Robert!
The full moon will be opposing my natal sun 24 Cancer in the 11th. I also have a natal opposition to saturn in the 5th. Saturn in Cap at 17 degrees. I dont want to feel this! Any way to look at this differently?

OOps! I meant my natal Moon 24 Cancer. ....... :)

Robert, thanks for these wonderful articles. I was particularly struck by the accuracy of your statement: "This is the next BIG fork in the road in many areas of our lives, and so expect the weird wild ride set into motion about 18 weeks back to continue while accelerating!" I did, in fact, start a whole new phase of my life at exactly that time. Very encouraging to see the accuracy of astrological timing.

Hey Robert that is SO beautifully put. I found this current Full Moon is amplifying everyone's Saturn issues quite powerfully - natal AND transit...But there is nonetheless a stately sort of a vibe to it.

Robert, sometimes I wonder if you're channeling some higher wisdom in your writing :). I enjoyed this one.

PS- and as a follow-up to Deneen's comment above [""This is the next BIG fork in the road in many areas of our lives, and so expect the weird wild ride set into motion about 18 weeks back to continue while accelerating!" I did, in fact, start a whole new phase of my life at exactly that time. It is very helpful to me that you keep reintegrating past astrological cycles into what's happening in the present---it helps to remember the changes and transitions taking place over the past few years, and see how they relate to the changes happening now.

Hi Robert,
Thank you very much for this and all the previous articles.
I am getting hit by all these right now. Fortunately, I am well prepared.
My SR is still a week away and I am getting back into the smoother flow although I almost got mired in low energy a few weeks ago.
Divine blessings!

Hi Rob, hope you're doing well. I'm wondering what the heavens can tell us about early August and the possibility of a US debt default?
Thanks!
