Jupiter went stationary retrograde 2:18 am PDT, 10:18 AM Greenwich Daylight time. Since it's Jupiter, everyone on Earth will be affected. What does this mean, and how will it play out?
At the end of this article I've given a brief sketch for how this affects each sign. For now, let's begin with some basics:
Every planet from Mercury out goes retrograde at least once in a while due to its orbital speed around the Sun relative to the Earth. I've explained the concept of retrogradation extensively in Mercury retrograde articles, so please reference the archives if you want to know more about that concept.
In all retrogrades, a span of degrees is re-traced that the planet moved through in the period just before it goes retrograde. In this case, Jupiter is now at 11 Taurus, and will retrograde back to 1 Taurus between now and late December.
Jupiter just moved through this span in direct motion from early June through now. Now we get a "second look from a different perspective" on those promising developments that took place the past 11+ weeks. Then we'll hopefully be able to use these energies expertly during the third time Jupiter transits the first 11 degrees of Taurus between late December and the Vernal Equinox next March. These involve early Taurus lessons. Jupiter is showing us how to substantiate something of an opportunity, future, philosophy, moral understanding, or Truth. Jupiter is the expansive principle, and Taurus is the sign/filter of money, wealth, values, and what we draw on to support our outreach into our worldly affairs.
As the stationary retrograde point is at 11 Taurus, through its symbol we can infer that we now stand on the threshold of several months of exploring the metaphor of "the garden," to see how we are or are not cooperating with Nature. Here we will confront the consequences of what we did and did not cultivate since January 2011 within the new archetype we've been living since Saturn entered Libra Autumn 2009.
Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this degree "A woman sprinkling flowers" is where our "Soul's determination" is to find "constant and tangible manifestation of its creative powers," where we find "an easy and rewarding partnerships" with Nature. Here Nature matches our "inner generosity of Spirit."
What we care about matches the reward we will receive. He says the keyword is CARE, and when positive, this degree is "the high stewardship by which (we build) everything around (us) into an enduring organism for (our) own satisfaction."
This promises us many rewards and abundant returns over the next few months, or perhaps what we cultivate over the next several months will show as rewards in 2012 once Jupiter moves back over these degrees during the time Mars is retrograde in Virgo. But that's another story for another time.
So basically we're about to go back over ground we've been walking since June. This can give us new perspectives and take us back to "square one" so that 2012 can be at least as solid, if not more so, than what's come down these past 12 weeks.
What follows is a brief snapshot for each sign about this influence for the next 7 months. These are written for the month most associated with these signs. For those born in the last week of the previous month, read the previous sign. (Ex. - March Aries should read Pisces, and June Cancers should read Gemini.)
For April Aries, it's about expanding how you capture what you need and stabilizing the new you in more enjoyable self expressions.
For May Taurus, it's about embracing a larger life, a greater adventure, or a more satisfying future at the end of an old one.
For June Gemini, it's about growing toward new goals and friendships, or renewing old ones that help you enjoy life and feel comfortable.
For July Cancer, it's about making a new public self, profession, or sense of direction more real that gives you the substance you need.
For August Leo, it's about finding a new adventure, future, learning discipline, or Truth that is enjoyable and comfortable.
For September Virgo, it's about simple and practical regeneration as a result of seeing losses differently, and being more generous with others.
For October Libra, it's about less exciting and more stable relationships and/or new opportunities to make them more enjoyable.
For November Scorpio, it's about joyous work with reliable helpers that assist a gentle, simple adjustment to new conditions.
For December Sagittarius, it's about finding newer, more enjoyable forms of play and self-expression, or expressing a new generosity with children.
For January Capricorn, it's about expanding into new living conditions and close relationships that are simple, stable, and enjoyable.
For February Aquarius, it's about seeing a newer, easier view of people and situations, and how you can communicate in grounded ways.
For March Pisces, it's about capturing what you need to become more generous and make your life a simple and true statement of your values.
If you want to know still more, I wrote quite a bit about Jupiter in Taurus in 2011-2012 in the article Jupiter in Taurus 2011-2012 - Patiently Stabilizing New Beginnings - Check it out!

Dear Robert, thank you always for your insightful, thorough, and kind postings. I hope August treated you well.
Jupiter is turning retrograde right on my South Node in the 12th house (S Node is at 10'30 Taurus). I wonder if you have any guiding words for me on how to work with this energy. Thank you sincerely.
