I just found out that my old Salon site has been permanently taken off the air.
Though they said they'd archive all the articles in perpetuity, they lied. So if you've gone to the left hand links for the 2004-05 articles, or for the Love reports or top Salon sites, they're all gone.
UPDATE: You can now find at least some of the articles via the Wayback machine at http://web.archive.org/web/20090303162121/http://blogs.salon.com/0003573/
Though it's not comprehensive in any way, you can still find some of the original articles there!
Oh well - it must mean a new era is upon this site! I'll be restructuring those links anyway so that the Love Reports will again be available, but through this site rather than that one. I'm just sorry they didn't notify me so I could lift all the original posts before they killed them.
Hasta lasagna, Salon. I wish I could say it was great, but it wasn't. You were one of the first, if not the best. And I did have the 4th largest number of hits of all time for all blogs over there. I suppose you were just a way station and means to an end until I could get here....
Aum Namah Shivaya!

This is the hard lesson I learned from the company that created the awful blog software Salon was running, and his flaky server hosting: never let anyone else have control of your online work.

Salon is still up and running. If you want to access it, I've been going to Open Salon, going to the bottom of the page, and clicking on the Salon.com icon.

Hi Charles - Yes, I remember radiouserland with no fond memories.
Hi Sarah - Salon is up and running. The several hundred original salon blogs are no longer able to be accessed. The new Salon blog has nothing to do with the original blogs.

Hi Robert,
Hi Robert,
About the time of (or right after) your stint at blogtalkradio with Michelle, I was clicking away here at Aquarius Papers and I was able to read blogs that dated way back in 2008.
Even then, your old Salon was already off.
Anyway, we are in a new era and a new start.
As you said: Aum Namah Shivaya!

Hi Cris - Well, as I got a love report request on July 16, it was still accessible then. In any case, on with the new!!
