This Full Moon will bring us techniques of transcending strife so we can see what's unfair, or out of balance. Harvests continue, with the Grand Irrationality in full play!
Today's article will cover rising signs around the globe, an overview of the Lunation, and the Sabian Symbols. Part 2 will cover the aspects, configurations and patterns, and which signs are most likely to be affected by where this falls in their charts.
A brief overview: the period ruled by this Full Moon will help us reconstruct or repair something through our actions, where our sense of responsibility will show us what's important as well as how to refresh ourselves emotionally and socially. We can see a practical idealism, or a realistic way to do what we must so that we can see the deeper symbolism to things and let our Soul speak. This is where we see the light of dues we've paid, or see the dues we must pay, in order to repair something, or join with others to reconstruct something in the past that was "wrecked by storms," literal or psychic.
Of major importance is that this Full Moon triggers the Grand Irrationality while indicated a second "irrationality pattern" is active in the period just before this Lunation. In this Lunation the Moon forms a septile to Neptune while separating from a biseptile to Pluto. This will put "destiny on the move" through crucial decisions we'll make that are related to the beginnings set into motion by the numerous conjunctions in Aries last March, April, and May. I'll cover all this and more in part 2.
Now on to the rising signs around the world. This Full Moon, helping us act on our long term important ideals and responsibilities, focused through an ability to get above the ugliness and harshness of life, occurs October 11 at 7:06 pm PDT, 10:06 pm EDT, and 3:06 am October 12 Greenwich Daylight time (October 12 Greenland and points east.)
The Lunation finds 5 Taurus rising in Santa Monica, 9 Taurus rising in Vancouver, 28 Gemini rising in Toronto, 26 Gemini in Washington DC, 29 Gemini in Rio, 4 virgo in London, 7 Virgo in Amsterdam, 13 Virgo in Berlin, 22 Virgo in Tallinn, 19 Virgo in Sofia, 24 Virgo in Cairo, and 16 Virgo in Johannesburg.
Moving into Asia and Oceana, we find the Ascendants to be 30 Libra in Abbotabad, 5 Scorpio in New Delhi, 9 Scorpio in Trivandrum, 30 Scorpio in Bangkok, 9 Sagittarius in Hong Kong, 25 Sagittarius in Tokyo, 4 Capricorn in Perth, 1 Aquarius in Melbourne, 4 Aquarius in Brisbane, 26 Aquarius in Wellington, and 12 Pisces rising on Maui (October 11).
Because the New Moon preceding the Full Moon always represents the seed forms that are brought to surface at and after the Full Moon, please check out New Moon in Libra Pt. 1 - What's Happening in October 2011. There's more at New Moon in Libra Pt. 2 - Signs, Sabian Symbols, Aspect Patterns, and What It All Means.
Those around the world who will definitely feel effects of this Full Moon are the places where it falls near the angles of the chart. Places where the Lunation is near the angles and activating energies powerfully are Rio, the span from Cairo to Pakistan, Japan and Australia.
As we are still under the influence of both the July 2010 Solar Eclipse in Cancer, the January 2011 Solar Eclipse in Capricorn, the recent powerful June 1 Solar Eclipse in Gemini, AND the July 1 Cancer Solar Eclipse, you may also want to review the numerous articles in the archives concerning those long term influences. As several planets in this chart harmonize, reconcile, or stabilize previously activated Eclipse points, many long term issues and endings can be understood from retrospective approaches.
Full Moons heighten feelings, given the opposition of the Moon with the Sun. This is heightened if there are other oppositions, and in this Lunation we find a lot of oppositions! Besides the Full Moon, there's a Moon opposed Saturn, Moon opposed Mercury, and Venus opposed Jupiter.
That would indicated the sense of polarization will be very strong, with the Moon the focal point of the Sun conjunct Saturn and recent Mercury conjunctions with both. Themes involve learning to make basic personal decisions to integrate our feelings with our outer interests, not surrendering to discouragement, developing our insights and sense of proportion, and not falling into feeling excluded from what's going on around us.
Other lessons involve developing a larger social sense, disciplining our feelings to put them to better use, tapping unsuspected resources, and opening to being a pioneer in some life area. Hang in there, don't settle for lesser things when greater ones are at stake, keep putting your best self forward even if it feels uncertain, and don't compromise about truly important things, and follow through while being mindful of ultimate ends.
As I mentioned, we're still being very much influenced in life-altering ways by the very powerful New Moon Solar Eclipse of June 1. That fell in the Gemini zone of the Grand Irrationality, and so over the past 4 months many strange and "destiny-producing" events have quickened to warp speed, throwing us all in major new directions.
As that Eclipse will be in force for several years, you can expect the effects to continue for quite a while. The whole world is at a critical turning point where we must find compassionate ways to link with others to assist the whole to survive through a rough patch.
This is the thirteenth Full Moon Sun that falls in the same sign as the previous New Moon, continuing to offer us a consistent (and "natural") way of experiencing the New Moon-Full Moon sequence. We had Full Moon Suns in different signs than the previous New Moon from July 2009 through September 2010. We'll have the current sequences of the New Moon Sun being in the same sign as the next Full Moon Sun through May 2012, after which it will again reverse function and the Full Moon Sun will be the same as the following New Moon Sun.
As I've explained in previous Full Moon articles,
... the Full Moon being in a subsequent sign than the previous New Moon indicates that what is released as realizations in the Full Moon period actually "prepare the ground" for the coming New Moon seed. Strange reversal of function, since you would think the New Moon provides the seed for the next Full Moon. But this set of Lunations works the opposite way....Another way to look at this is the Sun sign of the Full Moon is the same as and precedes the Sun sign of the next New Moon, reversing the usual way Lunations work. So the fulfillment of the Full Moon sets up the next "seed" to be revealed at the next New Moon....
So at present the New Moon-Full Moon cycle is "normal," in the sense that now we have the illuminated form shown to us at the New Moon which is fulfilled by the light of the same sign at the subsequent Full Moon. The New Moons will all fall in the first half of their signs and the Full Moons will all fall in the last half of their signs from now through May 2012. Seeds shown in the first half, fulfillment in the second half makes some kind of sense.
This Full Moon falls at 19 Aries-Libra. It is said that the second third (decan) of any sign deals with the emotional, social, and cultural levels of life, and being the penultimate degree of the second decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Leo and Aquarius.
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take.
The Solar degree symbol for the 19th degree of Libra is "A gang of robbers in hiding." Rudhyar says this is a degree of "Protest against the perpetuation of unearned social privileges and wealth," "repudiation of bondage," and "challenge to custom."
In the Mandala he goes on to say this is a degree of "protest against disharmonic social privilege," where "dynamic qualities in individuals and the will to transformation" are revealed. He states this is a degree of protest, where we find a technique for organizing an "effective resistance to the momentum of crystallized institutions."
So here groups are formed to protest something that's out of balance, or "unearned privilege." He says this degree falls in the Span of Revelation, Act of Group Integration, and Scene of Reconstruction on the Actional level.
Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of "man's freedom of spirit and soul in a complete if often unhappy deviation" from "normal impulses or attitudes." He states the emphasis is on a person's "disturbing capacity for antisocial... practices, or for self-involvement in potential which may have imaginative but hardly intelligent sustainment."
He goes on to say that this reveals a "need for initiative, and for a more challenging perspective." He offers the keyword DIVERGENCE, and states that when operating positively, the degree is "alertness to every threat against a true individuality."
The Lunar degree symbol for the 19th degree of Aries is "The magic carpet." Rudhyar says this is a degree of "capacity to transform everyday life by the power of creative significance; or escape in idle fancy."
He goes on to say in the Mandala that this degree involves "the use of creative imagination," where we can refuse "a hectic involvement in social competition" so we can develop "unattached and transcendent understanding." Here our understanding can lead to "great flights of imagination and super-physical perception."
We are told that rest periods where we turn inward can show us the totality of situations and "the possibility of developing a new technique of perception, a strife transcending and unattached outlook upon everyday reality. He says this degree falls in the Span of Examination, Act of Differentiation, and Scene of Potency on the Actional level.
Dr. Jones says this is a degree of "the periodic expansion of (our) freedom of spirit and soul through (a) widely winging interest" in distant or abnormal potentials showing a "vicarious or imaginative self-fulfillment." He states "There is in consequence a revelation of the mind's infinite capacity for an overview of experience," where we can participate in "idealistic possibilities without any necessary self-involvement."
With this degree, we glimpse different potentials for fulfillment through our imagination, and can come to an overview of things without any unnecessary involvement in those things. He offers us the keyword PANORAMA, and states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is "full realization of the broad endowment which every (person) may make their own."
From these symbols it seems we can see the light of something that is unfair or out of balance, where our freedom of Spirit and Soul open new possibilities of action. Illumination indicates challenges to custom where we repudiate a form of bondage, and may even find ourselves within a larger group who feel as we feel and are willing to protest something that's unfair.
These will express in the ability to see whole situations without taking things personally or in a stressful way. The form that comes forth will be a technique of getting a larger view, where some personal future endowment may be fulfilled through embracing idealistic possibilities in thought and action.
On a final note, this is the Full Moon that expresses in some way the promise we experienced at the first of the "Three High Moons" of Spring (in the Northern Hemisphere). This Full Moon externalizes the energies of the Spring Full Moon of Aries-Libra.
The 3 High Moons began with the Full Moon of Aries-Libra, progressed through the Wesak Festival Full Moon of Taurus-Scorpio, and fulfilled the triple pulse at the Christ Fest Full Moon of Gemini-Sagittarius, which also happened to be a very powerful Lunar Eclipse. In the Northern Hemisphere, the first renews the life force for the year, the second brings a new outpouring of the "Cosmic Buddha Nature" that brings all a renewal of the qualities that Sage brought to humanity to lessen suffering for all sentient Beings, and the third is where the World Teacher takes that "wisdom form" and distributes it to the Earth as the Teaching for the year.
I would infer that in the Southern Hemisphere, the Full Moon of Aries-Libra initiates an energy that is concentrated at the Full Moon of Taurus-Scorpio and is distributed at the Full Moon of Gemini-Sagittarius, but perhaps these energies may express in outer forms in the subsequent Spring Full Moons of Libra-Aries, Scorpio-Taurus, and Sagittarius-Gemini. Again, the energies of the elements and modes of the signs work consistently whether in the Northern or Southern Hemispheres, but bring forth different and parallel manifestations in the natural world.
If you're interested in the lessons released by the 3 High Moons for 2011, please refer to the many articles written about these Full Moons that are in the recent archives. They're truly worth a new look.
In Part 2 we'll cover the aspects, configurations, and which degree spans will be impacted by this Full Moon. See you soon!

Robert, I especially appreciated the material on 19 Aries-Libra. And even more specifically 19 Aries. In my natal chart, I have Moon at 15'46" Aries/Uranus at 20'22" Aries as the point of a yod from Scorpio Sun at 17'45" and Virgo Jupiter at 18'17".
I was just telling a friend this morning about two men I worked with for a number of years who both had Sun between 15 Libra and 21 Libra; they were immensely supportive of me in my role as the first woman cabinet director in the Washington state governor's office.
I mention all this because it seems a concrete example of the potential in this full moon. At this time in my life, I am finding a new balance between my 2nd and 8th houses.
Your comments would be most welcome! Thanks much. Jo

Powerful work, especially when used as intended, to grow and transform.
Past full moon fell directly on my Pluto (Not sure if ur traditional or medi-evil) and to the day, I had a beautiful discovery of my psychological make-up and how I deal with my inner child, through the other.
Ive finally brought my little boy home where he belongs.
Now the full moon falls smack on my natal moon and Kyron (U??) anyway, all 5 degrees from my ASC.
Im finding that once the stars glare upon us there work takes a while to complete.
Powerful transformations, but most of all, thank you for your insights, I rely on them daily.
Blessings to you and your family.

To Morvah and abluelily.....Pay attention to those black birds...man I am so connected with the crow in the last 5 months....they show up revealing "prepare prepare prepare...and bam...something emerges and I've got it down that it happens within 24 hours! Use to think they was bad luck...wrong..it's total protection/warnings and making me pay attention! Most of all it's my new and deepest connection with ISIS....she has made all the difference and "watches my back!"
Bless us all in this flight and always wave when they show up! Acknowledging them makes all the difference! You can take it to the bank!

Oh yes, 'a widely winging interest' - I have them here - was telling someone else earlier today - Jackdaws round the house, Ravens and Choughs out on the cliffs. Yes I salute them always and they always answer. I love them with all my heart. There is a legend that King Arthur turned into a Chough and that when Choughs returned to Cornwall the King would return. Yes, Bless us all...it is time...
