Once in awhile I see it's time to revisit the fundamentals of what Astrology is and what it is not.
Though this is just a fragment of a much longer talk it covers a lot. While Astrology is a very useful tool for self awareness and a knowledge of what's personal and what's collective, it isn't a substitute for whatever Spiritual practice(s) help us integrate our personalities, help get us through the night, and help us to help others appropriately according to their karma and ours.
It may show us the how, when, what, and why of things we can use to good effect, but we still have to walk our human walk and learn to take the high road whenever and however possible as we navigate the tides and reefs of human existence. Every step we take, every realization we learn to apply, creates karmic patterns across existence. This life's chart and its challenges and gifts show us where we've been in prior lifetimes and how and what we learned or didn't learn.
As you move and groove through the intersections of fate and free will, use our old friend wisely, and over time you'll see old difficult patterns give way to newer, freer, more enlightened patterns of experience and response. The trick is to take a more time-free view, and that's one of the many things that Astrology is all about!
For your renewed consideration, a few good thoughts that begin a vast exploration and a quote from the Bard of Avon.
Lest you believe that any effort is for naught, remember these immortal words of wisdom:
"How far that little candle throws its beams! So shines a good deed in a naughty world."
William Shakespeare - "The Merchant of Venice"

Hi cathy - Well, as you no doubt know there are many rumors and speculations about that. My view has always been "but what is the meaning of this, and how can it serve the highest, best interests of humanity individually and collectively?" Somewhat along the lines of "before enlightenment, chopping wood and carrying water; after enlightenment, chopping wood and carrying water." I suspect it's no more nor less than the long wave awakening of etheric sight and sensitivity by the human race, and the beginning of the death of separateness born of the limitations of being trapped in the perceptual limitations of the 5 senses and the mind. And that would be a very good thing!

We have a clean slate now and it is up to each individual to create a world that is the best for all. Many changes ahead, and oh so needed. I agree with Robert........"the long wave awakening of etheric sight and sensitivity by the human race......"

The cosmological perspective of the Maya was cycles within cycles at a level that is truly incomprehensible to the human mind."End" is a thought form within Mayan cosmology that begs to be taken in a context so wide and vast that it quickly means much and very little--a concept likely at the same time familiar and foreign to the comings and goings of what is ... like Robert says about Astrology, there are cycles we can experience in their wholeness, and cycles whose wholeness is beyond our knowing. When a cycle is beyond one's knowing, my tendency is move to higher mind for a "sense" of what is ... the Mayan calendar is infinite--beyond all knowing. Yes, we are in the "end" times of a significant cycle spelled out beautifully by the Mayan genius ... but there is no end, really ... just a shift ... granted, a big shift ... we are elements in the flow getting, courtesy of the Mayan genius, a sense of the largeness in which we participate ... blessings as we hold all our knowings and contemplate our not knowings in the flow of cycles see-able and un-see-able ...
