This is the second part of a dialog about 2012 and the Mayan Calendar, the end of our current Age, the beginning of the New Age, and figuring out what's really happening despite the obscurations of rumor, speculation, and assumptions about these.
False polarities and dualities are created by ego-mind seeking control and dominance, whether the world of ideas, feelings, or actions. This is where the ego finds power and reassurance of its existence. Be alert to any message that seeks to use fear or fear-based imagery, since where there is fear, there is ego. Fear and fear-based teachings have no place in the evolving era.
On the other hand, the Soul that unites us all, individually and collectively, always seeks relatedness, whether with other ideas, views, activities, or realizations. The Soul is fundamentally inclusive. That's why most separative arguments are fallacious, and in my opinion take the wrong approach if they truly seek to expand the totality of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of a thing.
Sometimes in our search for knowledge we encounter situations where we're told we need to acquire some thing before we'll understand. It IS true that we often "don't know enough" to ask intelligent questions, much less understand the answers. I've been there myself many times, as has everyone I know.
Regardless of how esoteric or elitist the attitude we encounter, if we care about a thing enough, we will be about the business of learning it thoroughly, and not believe that any single source has all the answers to our questions. This means we need to take a many sided approach to exploring any given thing. That way we are able to examine everything with detachment and dispassion and hopefully not fall prey to illusions based on assumptions or limited views.
In the case of the current "debate" over the Mayan calendar and what it purports to "predict," I'm sure there are accurate elements of the Dreamspell philosophy, as well as other elements that could use a little tweaking. Actually, much of the argument assumes we know how the ancient Maya or Toltecs interpreted time, and what they did or did not have or use to determine the meaning of their space-time references. At best we have remnants of the culture, probably not in any way complete.
We do have some oracular pronouncements via Chilam Balam, but these, like the prophesies of Nostradamus, can be interpreted many different ways. Then we have the nuances of the translators, trying to re-frame the metaphors of long ago in contemporary terms. It is easy to see how literally, "much could be lost in translation." That's definitely the case in terms of the modern Bible. Oracles are seldom easy to interpret, even under the best of conditions and lengthy training in such things.
The Maya, as well as other pyramid builders, have been with us for hundreds of thousands of years, have left their mark many places on Earth, and had to know some pretty sophisticated knowledge to do such things with precision. They didn't just create buildings - their constructions served as electromagnetic field focus points in some amazing alignments with the planet itself. What we don't know and are assuming about the Maya, their calendar, and other prophetic oracles will no doubt fill many future books.
As for most New Age approaches, I tend not to take very seriously much of what is asserted in our world about other dimensions, evil aliens, glorious pronouncements and messages from "ascended masters," paradigm shifts, and personal "ascensions," to name but a few. I find a lot of it highly speculative, usually exclusive rather than inclusive, and not based in depth knowledge of the requirements of human evolution across centuries and millennia.
I am particularly wary if it seems like it's a) threatening, b) cheerleading, or c) assuring us that we don't have to take responsibility for being here and to whatever degree is possible, selflessly contribute to a better world while freeing ourselves from glamor and the causes of suffering. Basically, I feel that if it doesn't apply to Biafra or Bangladesh, it's probably more local than global and needs further examination before being proclaimed as a universal fact or Truth.
Glamor, Illusion, and Maya (the Sanskrit Maya, not the people) are serious traps for any truth seeking Soul. I truly believe it's best to develop our "glamor dispelling mechanism" so we can see things without that world problem intruding on our perception and understanding.
For example, many believe that the global consciousness shift is "predestined." However, due to the way our evolutionary system is structured, no one is "predestined" to make a shift in consciousness, except as a totally generic statement of the eternally evolving human awareness. We shift into "higher consciousness" as an active ongoing embrace of our own evolution aligning with Dharma, a process not a noun. And enlightenment does indeed happen in the flash of an instant, changing us forever.
Knowing what I know about the larger evolutionary indicators involving sub-races and Root Races, I suspect those who leave this Earth in coming decades will be those who are not in harmony with the gentle beauty and fruitfulness of our Earth, while those of us who are striving for kindness, compassion, and forms of service and higher awareness will be here for many thousands of years to come. Simply put, no true Disciple would ever be in a hurry to leave this beautiful Earth and our family of loved ones near and far. "All our relations" is not just a slogan for those trying to imitate Native American culture. It is in fact our state of everlasting connectedness with all that is.
In the larger space-time evolutionary point we've moving with at present, it actually seems as though we're at the end of a long cycle and moving into another, but also just barely past the mid-point of a much larger circumpolar cycle. Our current "path of return" should last another 10-12,000 years, followed by another 26,000 year period much more evolved than anything we've known before now, since we are past the densest point of the larger evolving period. Reference "The Holy Science" by Sri Yukteswar for a quick glimpse into the cycle of Yugas we're dancing within.
We're definitely on the cusp of a transition between Ages, but it is important to remember perceptual context. If an Age is approximately 2160 years, then allowing for a transition of 3 degrees out of the old sign and 3 degrees into the new, we are partway into the swirl of major transition lasting about 430 years mas o menos. This is of course a time period when things are in radical change and comings and goings are accelerated. Since we live in a very small span relative to the cosmic timekeepers, then it's doubtful we can get a large enough view to understand what's actually happening and why.
For those interested in the larger evolutionary scheme for humanity, the Earth, the Solar System and beyond, anyone can find out all they need about the "other dimensional bodies" of the planets in our Solar system by referencing "The Secret Doctrine" by HP Blavatsky. Translated in 1888 from extraordinarily ancient sources, it opened up everything we know about such things as chakras, Rays, planes and sub-planes of consciousness, sub-and Root Races, and the Rounds, Globes and Chains of human, planetary, and Solar systemic evolution. You will find many things about the relationship of Venus to the Earth and both to the Solar Logos, the star Sirius and the Pleiades, and the Kumaras.
A lot to consider as we stand on the edge of Time.
(Here's the original article with a comment stream dialog that covered a lot of ground involving more subjects than I can list here. It's really interesting in many different ways, so if you want to see some very erudite responses that went all over the map, by all means check it out! Or you could just re-read this article, since it will bear more insights each time you do.)

Dear Robert,
Thank you for these clear statements. I agree completely, especially to let go of doom and remember as you said so well " no true Disciple would ever be in a hurry to leave this beautiful Earth and our family of loved ones near and far".
Thank you again.

Robert,
I was watching Stephen Hawkings "The Beginning of Everything", on Netflix last night, and in this vast array of universe that we are but specs of dust in it, this planet and our solar system will someday cease to exist (not anytime soon) due to the cosmic events beyond our control - what are your thoughts on that? If we evolved through the happenstance of attraction of elements and gravity and cosmic movement then in trillions of years, an 'Earth' could form again, and we as a those specs of dust could also form again. The science part of it takes away that which is spiritual in being or believing but if there is intelligence in us, then would one have to believe that there is intelligence in the molecules of elements that are drawn together without any knowing reason? What if God is merely a cloud of dust in the stars who has set in motion a creation of all that is on a specific plan of evolution. I see a lot of Hindu/Buddhist philosophy wrapped up in this.

Dear Robert,
Thank you for this amazing article. Again, you have brought clear thinking and wisdom to the current urban legend of the 2012 end of times.
As one who loves this beautiful Earth and all who dwell upon her, I appreciate your good work.
Namaste

Liked Part II as much as Part I. I have been singing the Pointer Sisters Yes We Can lately: We got to make this land a better land than the world in which we live. And we got to help each man be a better man with the kindness that we give.

Robert, Here is the link to Brian Greene's NOVA special: http://video.pbs.org/video/2164065493
This episode is on time. I am watching it now for the first time online and laughing to myself. Reason being is this... I met the late Leonard Shlain back in the 90s when he was promoting his book, Art & Physics http://www.artandphysics.com/. We compared notes on concepts of time and no doubt there is something within the evolution of human experience that is related intimately to time, the doppleganger effect, folds in time, and more. Shlain was a visionary and he generously shared his vision with me. Your thoughts on time coming from a different angle is not unlike what spurred Shlain to write his book, Art & Physics. He found the artists and physicists of the turn of the century (1900) came to similar conclusions about existence but from different disciplines & approaches. I encourage you to check him out.

Thank you so much Robert! I think the 11:11 time prompt is significant to the new era.

I agree in part with your take on the New Age thing being highly speculative, e.g. "ascended masters," paradigm shifts, and personal "ascensions," etc. but then you write:
"For those interested in the larger evolutionary scheme for humanity, the Earth, the Solar System and beyond, anyone can find out 'all they need' about the "other dimensional bodies" of the planets in our Solar system by referencing "The Secret Doctrine" by HP Blavatsky".
It seems counter intuitive to the skepticism you expressed earlier.
I had an out of body experience several years ago and found myself in the light. I leave quotation marks off of in the light specifically because I was in the light, an experience that has to be had in order to understand it. I felt "enlightened" at the time but after the experience slowly faded away found myself in a "hell on earth". Maybe that's the polarity that exists between the lighter elements of 'consciousness' and the heavier vibration of the physical world.
Having my Venus in Taurus, I do love the physical pleasures of the earth and having my Moon in Pisces with several Neptune aspects (too many perhaps) I can relate to both experiences. I guess that brings me to my point that it's all about experience/perception and that ultimately we (like a bucket of water taken from the ocean) are all part of unity consciousness (the ocean) or, we are all the same thing having different experiences just as the physical Universe is all made up from the same "stuff" in different forms.
Ultimately it is still a mystery how it all got here, where it started, where it's going, etc. even if we do "know" some of the mechanics involved.
