So as we close 2011, what can we expect from 2012?
Today we'll take a look at the big picture for 2012. I am not going to make "predictions" in today's column, but I will cover some of the major themes of the year. I'll probably do some prognosticatin' down the road, but for now we're going to take a look ahead, and how it relates via a look back.
First, past as prologue. We are under some major influences left over from 2010-2011, most noticeably the heavy duty Solar Eclipses and the recent Total Lunar Eclipse. I'll link to those articles at the end. Please take a new look, since the Solar Eclipses are affecting everyone on Earth for many months to come into 2013 and 2014.
Briefly, these helped us all to "liberate ourselves from the ghosts of the past," and clear out old ways of thinking and understanding that couldn't be brought into our new lives. We also began to be trained to manifest some social ideal more perfectly, even as we garnered a better perspective on letting go of old forms and embracing deeper truths and realities. I've composed more in my 2012 Reports for All Signs, so if you're interested in even more, by all means order one.
Also remember that we're still in the Year of the Metal Rabbit until the New Moon at 3 Aquarius on January 22, 11:39 pm PST, January 23 everywhere east of there. So you may want to take a look back to see how this quickly passing Year of the Silver Hare has played out in your life. Links to those articles also at the bottom of this one.
Then we have the impending Neptune ingress into Pisces. It briefly visited there earlier in 2011 before slipping back into Aquarius giving us all a collective experience of things past, things present, and things future, since Neptune and Chiron have been dancing on the Cusp of the Age.
With Neptune still in the degree span where the Precessional Point has been for about 20 years and will be for the next 140, we've collectively experienced a gigantic blending of the qualities of the dying Age and the emerging Age. That's why there's been such a collision of ideologies and collective mythologies and belief systems during 2011! Expect more of the same in 2012-2013, but with the hard edge of the exact Uranus square Pluto!
Speaking of which, we began to deal with the radical and transformative Uranus square Pluto energies in the Summer of 2010 which showed us visions of future eruptions beginning February-March 2011. That's given us all a sense of impending friction and revolution which will be with us awhile.
We've been learning, and will continue to learn, coping skills to deal with the abrupt and radical transformations and clashes in approaches this symbolizes. I've written about this already many times, and will be composing more in the future as we move into the heart of the storm. If you want to know more right now, please go to the site google box in the upper right corner and type in "Uranus square Pluto." That should give you enough to ponder until I compose more in the near future.
The main Plutonic theme of 2011 was about embracing a natural role to play in our world, and remembering that some limitations are more boon than bondage. 2012 involves overcoming fear and learning your particular style of exhibiting harmlessness.
Neptune lessons of 2011 helped us all escape from our cocoon, and transform our everyday lives and ideals toward a freer, more evolved way to live. We've all had opportunities to catch glimpses of our "Immortal Self," and graduate into a new realm of being. 2012 involves learning navigation skills as we enter a vast and strange dreamscape, especially during the severe cross currents from June forward. I also elaborate on this in my 2012 Reports for All Signs, outlining who is most affected and how we can best deal with this hard-edged period in the Summer of 2012.
By mid-July the hard edge is on, so be disciplined as you experience concentrated doses of spiritual energy that allow you to move into a transcendent security. For those willing to retire from old dramas, by imitating something or someone you can receive feeling-glimpses of basic knowledge that can lead to "elementary understandings."
In 2011, Saturn taught us lessons about anticipating the consequences of our actions, whether how past actions or inactions created current consequences, and how current actions or inactions create potential future consequences. We began to pay some dues to balance some things within our larger Karmic "Ring Pass Not," and by Summer 2011 should have found a form of kindness by which we can learn and teach.
The first half of 2012, Saturn will bring us all to a form of "philosophical completion" and new ways of understanding signs, symbols, and signals. We are completing a long terms "dues paying" period, and by June we shall "see a new sunrise," and have opportunities to embrace life renewal as yet dawning with creativity and joyous enthusiasm. From there we finish balancing what needs balancing, preparing to go deeper when Saturn enters Scorpio in October.
In 2011, Jupiter opened all signs to new initiatives and new life directions, while Saturn showed us the necessity to do long term evaluations of how past actions and inactions created consequences in our lives, and/or how current actions and inactions could create consequences in the future. How we adjusted our sense of perspective and proportion will affect us all in 2012, since what we tended to in the second half of 2011 will bear fruit in the Spring of 2012.
During the first half of 2012, Jupiter moving quickly through Taurus will bring us what we need to sustain our new beginnings and initiatives, which will lead us all to new discoveries and new ways of communicating beginning June of 2012 as Jupiter enters Gemini and begins a year-long expansion of that area of our chart.
Mars goes retrograde in mid-January at 24 Virgo, emphasizing a shift in pace, a slowing of momentum, and a 3 month period of some things slowing, or getting undone or re-done, before picking up the pace again in mid-April. This will help us all take a new approach at what's begun since mid-November 2011, and be educated in some emotional or social way. Expect delays and slow downs through April, and then the pace will pick up considerably!
So to sum up this overview of 2012, everyone can expect new resources and new ideas and paying dues to finish up refining the new archetypes we've been living since 2010. By late 2012 we begin a period very intense experiences and relationships, with fear, rigidity, and heavy-handed manipulations in the air. All will need to clean out old stagnant rules, fears, limitations, and obsolete methods and purposes, deepen their sense of mission, and see their lives from newer, elevated perspectives.
In short, it's transformation time! While it won't be the end of the world, it will be a time of tremendous conflict. We will need to embrace balanced approaches to restore fairness or justice personally and socially, a sense of discovery, and a willingness to exchange information while staying open to other points of view.
Innovation will be in the air, but so will grand deceptions as well as collective awakenings. The conflict is between the old and the new, the rigid and the innovative, the deceptive and the new discoveries revealing new possibilities of view and understanding.
More to come, but that's another story for another time. See you in 2012!

Hi yzse - The Water Dragon is coming January 22-23! Still, as I am a Metal Rabbit Cat, it's an interesting thing to reflect on the past year for its resonances, renewals, and clarity....

Happy New Year's Eve Robert!

Wishing you well my astrological predicting and analysis friend. The archetype you speak often of has indeed changed a great deal for me since the summer of 2010. I could not have projected that I'd be in the location, doing what I will be, and yet, missing a key person (mom) from my life as discussed. 2012: what do you hold for us? 2011 was my most challenging on all levels of this human experience.

A little late after your reply on Aug 15th but there was saturn sextile natal jupiter at end of aug. For some reason it did not bring a lot of change.
Hoping better with upcoming jupiter trine saturn and MC. I am saggitarius rising thus, if I am not wrong jupiter rules my ascendant and since I have natal saturn and MC in virgo in the 10th, it is ruled by mercury. But as I have capricorn in the 2nd house, it is ruled by saturn.
You had advised to search for place of greatest service to my world, due to my birthday. Did you mean to look for how to contribute to world/ others lives? Or in regards to how to make a living.
The quality of style of presentation, you mentioned may also be because I felt I was doing a lot but not sure how to deal with authority and influencing others. Thanks

Third paragraph says it all. Thanks Cancer-5

Thanks Robert!!
This line says it all for me - these helped us all to "liberate ourselves from the ghosts of the past,"
I had a very difficult 2011 but it did exactly that, helped me to face and liberate myself from some deep childhood issues that I didn't even realize were there - had the year not been so difficult, I don't think I would have ever faced them, but I had such a strong desire to figure out WTH was going on w/me and my life. The subconscious manifests - stronger than the conscious!! It'll take time to fully reprogram my nervous system but I do feel like a huge weight has been lifted; it's like that thing that I've been frantically 'searching' for all my life has been found.
Happy New Year everyone!! :)

Dear Robert and dear ALL,
HAPPY NEW YEAR with Love and Light and Blessings and protection and JOY!
Robert, your excellent article sums up in a few sentences what will be this wild ride:
"The main Plutonic theme of 2011 was about embracing a natural role to play in our world, and remembering that some limitations are more boon than bondage. 2012 involves overcoming fear and learning your particular style of exhibiting harmlessness."
With Neptune, "2012 involves learning navigation skills as we enter a vast and strange dreamscape, especially during the severe cross currents from June forward".
"By mid-July the hard edge is on, so be disciplined as you experience concentrated doses of spiritual energy that allow you to move into a transcendent security."
THANK YOU for always being generously there for everybody!
Love, Isabel
PS - Hope you do not mind that I take the opportunity to say Happy New Year to friends I met at the Aquarius Papers: MORVAH and ADITYA.
I also updated (finally) my blog.

I'm better at surrendering and navigating the dream scape to the point of enjoying it. But I could sure use a dose of the sure footedness of the goat on the rocky landscape, literally. Somehow I gotta find the balance in the now. My chiro tells me I'm good at falling down and recovering, but I'd just rather not do that. The answer is probably in the slowdown. I don't always pay very well attention.

Water dragons sounds good for this cancer (and I´m a water-tiger). Survived this winter and christmas - waiting for the new waves to come in. I will jump on them.
