This article covers significant aspects, degree symbols, and other important factors in this month's Capricorn New Moon chart which will throw us into new experiences, leaving behind old roles and embracing new ones. This begins a long stabilizing enjoyable adventure!
This Lunation, like the last one, stretches out the usual "anchoring" occupied span running between Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Taurus so that it draws Saturn into the occupied area since it also involves planets in Virgo and Sag. This "whole span" shows us where the outer emphasis is in our lives, and what we're experiencing in our worldly realm. where we initiate through Virgo and close through Taurus wherever this 222 degree occupied span falls in the houses of our birth charts.
However, as mentioned in many articles up to now, due to the planetary positions we now have a "Locomotive" Jone Pattern, with Mercury leading the Eclipse. That makes the house transiting Mercury occupies in our birth charts extra important as a focus for our expanded vision and instinctive wisdom. Mercury conjunct the North Node continues to open doors and perspectives initiated during the last two Lunations involving a Solar Eclipse and a Lunar Eclipse. Links to the Solar Eclipse articles at the bottom of this one.
As noted, Mars in Virgo initiates the occupied span, while Jupiter in Taurus closes it. Think of this as a time when all our experience begins with a Mars in Virgo energy, proceeds through Saturn in Libra, Mercury in Sagittarius, and then this Stellium in Capricorn proceeding through Venus and then Neptune in Aquarius awakening into a Uranus in Aries experience, solidifying and anchoring the pulse through Jupiter in early Taurus. This pattern will hold through Spring 2012.
So wherever we have Virgo, Libra, Sag, Capricorn, Aquarius, Aries, and Taurus in our charts is active, with Capricorn the crowded sector due to the Lunation.
The general theme is that we can be educated by practical and efficient actions over the next 4 weeks, leading us to a new sense of our connection to "friendly helpers" that offers more balanced perspectives. If we can go for new experiences with an eye to organizing our efforts to ensure the outcome we desire, we should be able to find a simple way to see the future and how to secure it.
Remember that in reading a Lunation chart (as well as a horary, inceptional, electional, or any event chart) the forming aspects show things to come, while separating aspects show things already past. This New Moon makes only one major forming aspect, while the other planets, especially Mercury, make quite a few important forming aspects.
The only forming aspect the Lunation makes is the conjunction to Pluto, showing an efficiency that will take us down to seed forms, as well as the sprouting of those seeds. This Lunation falls very close to the Galactic Center, so the next few weeks should illuminate and nurture some of what Galaxy has been sending us since 2007.
We must exercise self-discipline and the willingness to take responsibility, at the same time relaxing into a natural role that's been developing since Spring 2011. Here we get to go deeper to purify all that would block or hinder our personal power by reaching out with more effective focus. This Lunation will definitely impact areas of our lives related to where we have 1-10 Capricorn, Aries, Cancer, and Libra over the next few weeks.
Other important forming aspects made by other planets include Mars quadranovile Neptune and tredecile Pluto, Jupiter trine Pluto, Saturn trine Neptune, and the lurking Uranus square Pluto triggered by this Lunation. The two strong trines between Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto are long term influences, and very harmonizing to those with planets in late Aries, early Taurus, late Gemini, early Cancer, late Leo, early Virgo, late Libra, early Scorpio, late Sagittarius, early Capricorn, late Aquarius, and early Pisces. It's time to get ready to set sail!
Those especially blessed with gifts, specially favorable circumstances and events, and other delightful new "adventures" are numerous! Blessings will be found by those with points around 24-28 Aries, 9-13 Taurus, 15-19 Gemini, 8-15 Cancer, 14-21 Leo, 18-22 Virgo, 24-28 Libra, 9-13 Scorpio, 15-19 Sagittarius, 8-15 Capricorn, 14-21 Aquarius, and 18-22 Pisces.
More very special "gifted" points this Lunation include some fostering unique forms of efficiency and practical action. Those are 21-25 Aries, 27 Taurus-1 Gemini, 3-7 Cancer, 15-19 Virgo, 21-25 Libra, 27 Scorpio-1 Sagittarius, 3-7 Capricorn, and 15-19 Pisces.
Two more fairly important aspect considerations are the quantity of forming aspects made by Mercury, and a very special "spiritual mastery" series set into motion by the Moon, Sun, Venus, and Saturn. First, Mercury makes the on-going septile to Venus, discussed extensively in previous articles.
At this time it also makes a square to Mars, semisquare to Saturn, tredecile to Uranus, and quintile to Neptune. Taken together, it indicates "The Guide of Souls" will be highly active coordinating gifts from Neptune and Uranus, as well as challenges to allow emergent "body-wisdom" to guide our mind to a greater conception of things.
We must learn not to take a narrow or pessimistic rule-driven view of things, since the energies are pretty much down to core and totally future oriented. Special gifts, circumstances, and favorable occurrences are in store for those with planets or points around 9-13 Gemini, 21-25 Leo, 29 Virgo-3 Libra, 9-13 Sagittarius, 21-25 Aquarius, 29 Pisces-3 Aries.
The second configuration involves the Moon, Sun, Venus, and Saturn all making aspects in the "Eleventh-Harmonic" aspect series, which I have termed the "Elftile" series, from the German word for eleven. We have the Moon and Sun elftile (32+ degrees) Venus and bielftile (65+ degrees) Saturn, and Venus trielftile (98+ degrees) Saturn. Of note is that we had 4 planets involved in such a series back at the October Full Moon, so it would seem non-rational "leaps of faith" were in the air then, and will be again for the next few weeks.
All of the aspects in the Elftile series involve making a leap of faith to transcend some sort of duality depending on which aspect and planets are involved. The presence of the Sun, Moon, Venus, and Saturn in the aspects clearly indicates a time where we must demonstrate some sort of faith to overcome a duality involving several different life areas.
As these involve Sun, Moon, Venus, and Saturn, you can see how it might require enlightened action integrating our inner and outer feelings and affections to orient them toward our greater destiny or responsibilities. You can bet that we'll all get to demonstrate some form of mastery of duality, whether in terms of habits, likes, values, resources, limitations, or life itself in all its illumined radiance. There are other possible interpretations, but for now take a look at where these planets fall in your chart to see where a leap of faith is required.
(To anticipate questions about this series, no, there is no book or work outside my own that I can recommend. What I do know about how these aspects function is entirely a product of my own research and observation over 40 years. An in-depth explanation of how these work, along with the septile and novile series aspects, will be part of the classes I offer on the Spiritual dimension of Astrology coming Spring or Summer 2012.)As noted in recent articles, Saturn triseptile Uranus continues to anchor a long term irrational "destiny producing" activation involving how we can take responsibility for our individualization into a new life. This one is showing us choices where we will determine our destiny for a long time to come. You can find out more by going to Astrology in December 2011 - If You're Wondering Why Things Are So Strange.
Overall, there will be many understandings that come as a result of events of the next 4 weeks. A grand adventure is on the way, with release from burdens and new songs to be sung, new ways of seeing what's important and why, and new dance steps to be taken.
The separating aspects show reality already experienced, or things already set into motion. Aspects of note are the Eclipse biseptile Mars, trine Jupiter, square Uranus, and sextile Neptune. We also see separating Venus sesquisquare Mars, square Jupiter, sextile Uranus, and Mars sesquisquare Jupiter and novile Saturn. These symbolize recent events, so to the degree you understand the symbols and their meaning, you may glimpse some factors behind what's happened in the recent past.
A New Moon sets the seed forms for what the following 4 weeks will demonstrate. This New Moon falls at 3 Capricorn, "The human soul receptive to growth and understanding." While I've given you a sense of this degree up to now, this is where we go into depth. According to Rudhyar this degree is one of "inner and pure motivation," "the power to remain superior to physical limitations; to demonstrate free will," and "Detachment."
In the Astrological Mandala, he says this degree involves "a powerful yearning for whatever will increase the scope and depth of one's contacts with other living beings." Here our Soul drives us toward new experiences, and we must take responsibility for the consequences of how we fulfill our yearning. He states "what is behind all uses of power, anabolic or catabolic: a strong desire to prove oneself."
He says it falls in the span of "Illusiveness," and it's the third degree of the actional level of the scene of Crystallization in the Act of Capitalization. So for this month, as well as the next four years, this Eclipse will teach us how to synthesize our power so we can capitalize on it through concrete actions.
According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, the keyword is AVIDITY. He states this is a degree of "every individual's equally fundamental dependence on the understanding and support of fellow participants in each moment of self-discovery." He says this offers us "a delight in normal living, not through its limitation but rather through a reiterated release of selfhood."
He says this degree is where we find life to be "real and rewarding" as we encounter it on our own terms. He states that when operating positively, this degree "is a gift for entering into the kaleidoscopic patterns of personal relationship with an unbounded enthusiasm."
So we enter a time of entering into new experience where we can act on and of our own authority to discover what we need to of our larger group work and individual responsibility. Here we can avidly seek out ways to do our thing on our own terms by demonstrating free will, and detach from needless limitations.
Of the planets that rule signs, there are 2 planets in Fire signs, 5 in Earth, 3 in Air, and 0 in Water. This preponderance of Earth indicates a lot of solid and stabilizing practical activity, and the balance of Fire and Air indicates inspired, practical activity, with some great interactions.
With no planets in Water, find how to feel, care, and experience within yourself, and use your innate skills to externalize these feelings the best you're able. Just don't expect much to be in the situations you encounter. Even when they seem to be there, it'll probably be more about practical things and ideas than true feeling connections.
Pluto in Capricorn continues to teach us deep lessons about practical, organized economy of energy and efficiency in sprouting seed forms of the new "laws of our lives" we can relax into. Be organized in finding and demonstrating your role and take some time to enjoy it! Also, through the harmonious trine from Jupiter about to begin forming again, we can safely purify what needs purifying and be leaner and more solidly able to rely on our material and non-material resources.
In the past months we've learned how to make many types of adjustments in perspective and how we relate to create a better world for ourselves in connection with others. Now that we're riding the waves of the new archetypal roles we began to live in 2009-2010, we can use gentle and balanced forms of will power, training, maturity, and sense of our new roles to play to move into new vistas, new worlds, new lives, and new ways of doing our Being.
The next 4 weeks is a time to reach out to new connections, new emergent possibilities, and let go of any sense of isolation or separateness. Here we get to illuminate and nurture the core of our Divine Power; all we have to do is relax into the role we can play, naturally and enjoyably. Take care of details, get a plan, see what fits where, and take a new step into new roles, new experiences, and new ways of being effective in your world.
As I've discussed, due to the effect of the very strong Gemini Solar Eclipse of June 2011 and the equally strong recent Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius, we are still being liberated from the ghosts of the past and letting go of burdens we no longer need to bear. Having found what we've been looking for and opened to new ways of doing our Being, we can be more natural in our search for deeper insights into meaning and processes as we reach out to new and more complex vistas of potential interactions.
Jupiter in Taurus counsels that we need patience and the ability to keep finding gentle, simple, and stable ways to move into your new life while becoming part of the "corrective force of Nature Herself." In practicing our unique individuality we can become the answer to some collective need, whether large or small. This is the time to define who you are apart from any inner or outer neutralizing factors that keep you from awakening to your uniqueness.
Now that Mercury's direct, Uranus is direct, and Jupiter is about to go direct, we can move forward in many life areas. We've gotten a new look at what we would become, and now can move it into the future through positive practical actions. We've "imitated new ways of doing our Being," and can now allow the ageless Divine Wisdom to act through us while we leave behind old ideas and memories that kept us split internally.
Here we continue to secure conditions, values, and resources while encountering challenges to master duality and become more Masterful in several life areas. This will no doubt be one of the more "spiritualizing" Lunations in recent history, and opens the doors to personal power and authorship.
Keep finding clear visions, information, and communications, and then figure out how to act to make those real or relevant to your emergent life. So get what your mind thinks it needs to make clear decisions, follow through in practical actions, and then feel what must be felt, experience what must be experienced, and get clear about what you're feeling so that you can find even newer views and understanding.
So get new information, new understanding, and new views of what's possible in the future that helps you separate from the past. Then do what must be done with decisiveness so you can experience your emergent life with new feelings.
There are gifts, stabilizing understandings, and new ways of being an individual promised by this Lunation, so think, decide, and then feel with an eye to getting in shape for the stable harmonious future to come that's been promised by what we've cared for this past Autumn. We've been through two "cosmic visitations" and two revelations of a new way of being that renders our old patterns obsolete. These will be delivered in a big way between mid-January and mid-March.
A great adventure awaits you who are ready to manifest a new Soul expression! Trust your wisdom, see how you have more allies than you feel, relax into the role you were born to play, and trust that sometimes a new unknown can be much better than an old known.
