This Full Moon Total Eclipse at 19 Sagittarius-Gemini gives us special circumstances and intuitive flashes into a bigger life. This Lunar Eclipse is the launch pad for 3 1/2 months of revelation, reorientation, and techniques of externalizing "seed knowledge."
Today's article will cover rising signs around the globe, an overview of the Lunation, and the Sabian Symbols. Part 3 will cover the aspects, configurations and patterns, and which signs are most likely to be affected by where this falls in their charts.
A brief overview: the period ruled by this Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse will illuminate our vision of a greater truth, broader future, or philosophical-spiritual possibilities and show us the way to techniques of getting to the heart of any matter. We will find a higher or broader knowledge worth sharing, found through liberating ourselves from old "polluted conditions."
This is a "stabilized distribution" of ideas and inspiration, where we take what we've synthesized up to now and use it to find a transcendent peace or realization beyond the dualisms of yin and yang, will and love, mind and heart. We've already moved past "the turning point," and now can reorient toward better ways of living, feeling, acting, and experiencing our lives.
Now on to the rising signs around the world. This Truth-seeking distributive Full Moon helping us break free of old conditions occurs 10 December, 2011, at 6:36 am PST, 9:36 am EST, and 2:36 pm Greenwich (11 December in eastern Australia and New Zealand.) The Lunation finds 15 Sagittarius rising in Santa Monica, 2 Sagittarius rising in Vancouver, 19 Capricorn in Montreal, 21 Capricorn in Washington DC, 16 Pisces in Rio, 27 Taurus in London, 5 Gemini in Amsterdam, 16 Gemini in Berlin, 9 Cancer in Tallinn, 16 Gemini in Sofia, 15 Gemini in Cairo, and 20 Taurus in Johannesburg.
Moving into Asia and Oceana, we find the Ascendants to be 25 Cancer in Abbottabad, 26 Cancer in New Delhi, 17 Cancer in Trivandrum, 11 Leo in Bangkok, 26 Leo in Hong Kong, 20 Virgo in Tokyo, 10 Leo in Perth, 19 Virgo in Melbourne, 2 Libra in Brisbane, 8 Scorpio in Wellington, and 18 Scorpio rising on Maui (Dec 10).
Because the New Moon preceding the Full Moon always represents the seed forms that are brought to surface at and after the Full Moon, please check out The Solar Eclipse at 3 Sagittarius November 24-25, 2011 Pt. 1 - Who Does It Affect and for How Long? There's more at The Solar Eclipse at 3 Sagittarius November 24-25, 2011 Pt. 2 - How Will It Manifest? and The Solar Eclipse at 3 Sagittarius November 24-25, 2011 Pt. 3 - Signs, Sabian Symbols, and What It All Means.
Those around the world who will definitely feel effects of this Full Moon are the places where it falls near the angles of the chart. Places where the Lunation is near the angles and activating energies powerfully are the west coast of North America (Asc/Dsc), Rio (MC/IC), Western and Central Europe and Cairo (Dsc/Asc), Hong Kong, Tokyo, and all of Australia (IC/MC).
Remember too that this Eclipse is visible all over the inhabited world except South America! As noted yesterday, the entire event is visible from Asia and Australia. For North Americans, the eclipse is in progress as the Moon sets with western observers favored by a larger fraction of the eclipse before moonset. Observers throughout Europe and Africa will miss the early eclipse phases because they occur before moonrise. None of the eclipse can be seen from South America or Antarctica.
As we are still under the influence of both the July 2010 Solar Eclipse in Cancer, the January 2011 Solar Eclipse in Capricorn, the very powerful June 1 Grand Irrationality Solar Eclipse in Gemini, the weaker one in Cancer, and the one linked above, you may want to review the numerous articles in the archives concerning those long term influences. As several planets in this chart harmonize, reconcile, or stabilize previously activated Eclipse points, many long term issues and endings can be understood from retrospective approaches, especially given that Mercury is still retrograde.
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. This particular Lunation has no other oppositions, decreasing the polarization and realization potential.
In fact, other than the again-forming long term Uranus square Pluto, this Eclipse has no significantly difficult aspects in play between any of the planets. That decreases the friction, and with the wide but powerful Grand Air Trine featuring the Moon, Saturn, and Neptune, should prove pretty smooth in terms of communication, mental movement, and discoveries that harmonize with the emergent archetype we've been living since Summer 2010.
As I mentioned, we're still being very much influenced in life-altering ways by the very powerful New Moon Solar Eclipse of June 1. (Links to articles about that Eclipse at the end of yesterday's post.) That fell in the Gemini zone of the Grand Irrationality, and so over the past 6+ months many strange and "destiny-producing" events have quickened to warp speed, throwing us all in major new directions.
As that Eclipse will be in force for several years, you can expect the effects to continue for quite a while. The whole world is at a critical turning point where we must find compassionate ways to link with others to assist the whole to survive through a rough patch. Collectively humanity is "emerging from its chrysalis" and preparing to give wings to the Aquarian Age, inch by inch, over the next few decades.
From here we move forward, individually and collectively, within the broader idea-field emerging in the void of what's been shut down the past 6 months. These next few months ground the wisdom of the past in simple, practical, stable forms.
This is the fifteenth Full Moon Sun that falls in the same sign as the previous New Moon, continuing to offer us a consistent (and "natural") way of experiencing the New Moon-Full Moon sequence. We had Full Moon Suns in different signs than the previous New Moon from July 2009 through September 2010. We'll have the current sequences of the New Moon Sun being in the same sign as the next Full Moon Sun through May 2012, after which it will again reverse function and the Full Moon Sun will be the same as the following New Moon Sun.As I've explained in previous Full Moon articles,
... the Full Moon being in a subsequent sign than the previous New Moon indicates that what is released as realizations in the Full Moon period actually "prepare the ground" for the coming New Moon seed. Strange reversal of function, since you would think the New Moon provides the seed for the next Full Moon. But this set of Lunations works the opposite way....Another way to look at this is the Sun sign of the Full Moon is the same as and precedes the Sun sign of the next New Moon, reversing the usual way Lunations work. So the fulfillment of the Full Moon sets up the next "seed" to be revealed at the next New Moon....
So now the New Moon-Full Moon cycle is "back to normal," in the sense that now we have the illuminated form shown to us at the New Moon which is fulfilled by the light of the same sign at the subsequent Full Moon. The New Moons will all fall in the first half of their signs and the Full Moons will all fall in the last half of their signs from now through May 2012. Seeds shown in the first half, fulfillment in the second half makes some kind of sense.
This Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse falls at 19 Sagittarius-Gemini. It is said that the second third (decan) of any sign deals with the emotional, social, and cultural levels of life, and being the second decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Aries and Libra.
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take.
The Solar degree symbol for the 19th degree of Sagittarius is "Pelicans moving their habitat." Rudhyar ways this is a degree of an "inward emphasis of foundations," "recuperation by retreating within," "the introvert's escape," and "moving about in reorientation."
In the Mandala he goes on to say this is a degree of "the need for people concerned with the future to discover a new way of living and more wholesome surroundings." This is where our concern over what we love makes survival an imperative, opening doors to new ways of life.
So we are now illuminated at by how we reorient toward more healthy environments, seeing that some sort of movement is necessary for the survival of what we love. He says this degree falls in the Span of Detachment, Act of Group Integration, and Scene of Transference on the Actional-Physical level.
Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of "the ultimate integrity of individual character," where we use skills and capabilities in terms of refining them for future usefulness. Here we find "illimitable resources of experience," so that we may turn away from unprofitable life situations and find new areas of competent and fulfilling "self-establishment."
He goes on to say that "(We) achieve best as (we) make the fullest use of (our) own immediate genius." He offers the keyword FRONTIER, and states that when operating positively, the degree is "the indomitable originality by which the human spirit remains at a forefront of everyday accomplishment."
The Lunar degree symbol for the 19th degree of Gemini is "A large archaic volume." Rudhyar says this is a degree of "reserve of collective knowledge and wisdom beyond true individual self-expression," and "deference to past experience."
He goes on to say that this degree is about "contacting the all-human planetary Mind underlying any cultural and personal mentality," where we find forms of Source material that are externalized "archetypal knowledge and wisdom." These are "seed ideas" that can help us grow, producing refined cultural values and expression.
He continues that this degree represents a technique by which our mind "can uncover the foundations of its nature and acquire what might be called SEED-KNOWLEDGE, the knowledge of the structure of cyclic and cosmic manifestations of life." He says this degree falls in the Span of Restlessness, Act of Differentiation, and Scene of Exteriorization on the Actional-Physical level.
Dr. Jones says this is a degree of "the ultimate indestructability of experiences," where we cross familiar territory with "greater ease and a broader self-discovery." Here we are assured of "illimitable resources in wisdom" that can immediately guide us in practical ways. He states "the past always provides an illumination of the present, and (we) achieve best as (we) culture a real sense of obligation to (our) own roots."
He offers us the keyword BACKGROUND. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree "is a special capacity for the recovery of prior advantages or the effective disentanglement of present involvements."
From these symbols it seems we can see the light of seeing the need to reorient, detach, and find newer, healthier, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual environments that reveal a new truth and future. These can express as forms that move us to use seed knowledge to find the wisdom in our roots and a "broader self-discovery."
We can find illumination in being aware of how things are expanding and showing us broader truths, futures, and potential for freedom and higher awareness as we prepare for movement reorienting us to a stabilized wisdom. This can take shape through how we are guided by seed ideas to recapture old blessings while disentangling ourselves from current situations that have no more potential or truth in our lives.
For now, enjoy seeing a broader vision of your "path to Illumination," and if you need to go inward, don't let the outer world intrude or persuade you to get or stay distracted. Reorient, reclaim some thing, idea, or view you once enjoyed that helped you to grow into greater fulfillment or a sense of life's adventure, and find and claim your "simple truth of Self." This clears out old ideas and futures so we can find a healthier way to live "the wisdom of our roots."
In Part 3 we'll cover the aspects, configurations, and which degree spans will be impacted by this Full Moon. See you soon!

I don't know Robert...but this one is kicking my butt! Some stuff from 20 years ago has reared its ugly head and here I sit with it realizing that I haven't completely kicked it out of my life. Seems to be about boundaries and self truth. Looking forward to your next article...and I'm glad to know that we've "turned the corner on this one."

Yeah, this one is doing a number on me too. Not as bad as the two years of Cancer eclipses but still felt. Part of it I am guessing is due to my Gemini Sun @ 15 degrees.

That old hermes is doing a number. Fast and furious. I give up. Bring it on.
Whenever I experience I time like this, I remember when I first started looking at astrology. I was reading an astrologer that would often mention Neptune is this or that so it is a good time to keep pen and paper by your bedside so that you can record your dreams. It makes me laugh because at times like this, I don't have to be sleeping, it's in front of me all the time. There is no way my pen could keep up with it.
I'm connecting Hermes with this, because of what is being revealed as I motor through the snafus.

Oh I just found that merc is conjunct my natal NN. Way to throw the sorrier side of my journey back in my face. Why am I laughing about this though. Hermes must have a sense of humor when getting a good kick in the butt from uranus?
