Mercury Stationary Direct Affecting April, May, June, and July 2012 – Centralizing Higher Forces As We Creatively Adapt our Self-Expression

Mercury goes direct in motion 3:11 am PDT, 11:11 am Greenwich on April 4 and speeds up for the next 10 weeks. This shows a quickening of the ability to coordinate, put things together, understand the whole and the parts, the process and the larger cycles. Mercury, or Hermes, "the Guide of Souls," is also known as the Divine Trickster, as well as all lesser models. It is now stationary at 24 degrees of Pisces, affecting that area for 3 months to come.

We are told the symbol is "An inhabited island.” Rudhyar ways this is a degree of “Centralization of supernal forces,” “adaptability and inherent creativeness of man,” and “Extreme of surety in self-expression.”

In "The Astrological Mandala" he states the keynote is "the need to consciously accept one’s own personal limitations in order to concentrate one’s energies and to live a centered and fulfilled life.” He notes that this symbol is one of expanding ego-boundaries so they become “a zone of intense interchange between the inner and the outer, between the individual and the community, between man and the universe.” He speaks of the need to fulfill Dharma, or the “place and function in a vaster whole.”

So it seems this is about interchanges between us and the visible and invisible world around us, where we learn “centralization.” Here our ego-function “sets boundaries” and shows our unique character, where we learn our oneness within a larger whole.

Of note is that this is the exact degree where Jupiter went stationary direct in November 2010, setting a platform where we finished saying goodbye to many things and people to create the space for the new initiatives of 2011. In another coincidence, Saturn now occupies the exact degree Venus went direct on that same month. In any case, we should all start seeing, hearing, and understanding things that point the way to some Mercurial technique of how we have been and continue to be "guided to our Soul," given Mercury, or Hermes, is known as "The Guide of Souls." Given where it falls at 24 Pisces, it shows us some way to find connectedness on inner and outer levels that can make us more sure in our creative self-expression.

The symbol is oriented toward techniques of emotional, social, and cultural perpetuation of deep and vast feelings and the distributive water that Pisces symbolizes. This follows the appearance of unsuspected powers of 23 Pisces, and precedes the purification of 25 Pisces.

Marc Jones says 24 Pisces is where we can demonstrate our "gift for the organization of (our) own private world in any area of (our) special interest." Here we learn through Mercury our ability to "function in a complete independence of the alien or the unfriendly" and "develop adequate resources for (our) need" even in "barren situations." Here is where we capitalize on potential and coax it to fruition.

He says the keyword is CULTIVATION, and when positive, this degree is "achievement through a creative opportunism or inventiveness of exceptional order." The implication is that through Mercury, we have opportunities to grow through inventiveness in cultivating potentials within natural limits and thereby get glimpses of how our Dharma functions us as we again re-trace our late Pisces lessons from now through April 16 (with residual echoes for the next 14 weeks.)

Mercury going direct will re-activate many of the aspects it's made over the past few weeks. At various times over the past three weeks, it's made important conjunctions, noviles, semisquares, septiles, binoviles, quincunxes, and triseptiles to the other planets.

It now begins a new set of aspects, initiated by a close (but not exact) septile to Jupiter going on right now. Over the next three weeks, while it’s still in its “shadow period” from 24 Pisces-7 Aries (the set of degrees traversed three times during the forward, then retrograde, then forward movement), it will make a quincunx and triseptile with Saturn, a septile with Uranus, and a binovile to Pluto. After that it recedes after making a near quintile with Venus while making a quincunx and then triseptile to Mars, a semisquare to Jupiter, and finally a conjunction to Uranus. The square to Pluto comes after it leaves its “shadow span.”

During this period other major aspects going on involve the on-going Sun semisquare Venus, opposed Saturn, semisquare, septile, and then sextile Neptune, biseptile and tredecile Pluto, and trine to Mars. We also see Venus in a T-square with Mars and Neptune, sextile Uranus, biquintile, quincunx, and triseptile Pluto, and then a binovile to Mars and biseptile to Neptune. Jupiter is exactly quintile Neptune, and Mars goes direct while Pluto goes retrograde.

Thus the Grand Irrationality is back in play during the coming weeks, with the Sun septile Neptune and biseptile Pluto immediately followed by Venus biseptile Neptune and triseptile Pluto. By April 23, Mercury will move out of its shadow span and enter its next "unknown zones" where the themes of this retrograde will be played out in forward motion. So for the next three weeks, expect some very productive intersections of past and future, with a promise of rapid development of the new initiatives we’ve been navigating the past 21 months, as well as opened opportunities to get connected to higher power and greater creativity through skill, organization, and initiative.

Also, given that Mercury will transit degree spans already experienced when Venus and the Sun moved through them in early February and the last half of March, rather than being a "herald" it will bring final insights around those processes that took place at those times. This is where the "after the fact" nature of the retrograde will help us come to a more well-rounded set of insights and understanding of recent events.

So at the end of this retrograde period, we find ourselves poised to use our adaptability and creativity to forge connections with others in our “Soul field,” where we can get a feel for a vaster interactive field of self-expression. We can find new insights into old Jupiterian promises, opportunities, and blessings, as well as whatever vaster feelings Uranus awakened when it went through late Pisces in 2009-2011. We should certainly be able to coordinate what Uranus has brought us in new ways, or find new insights into the ongoing revolution in our lives.

As Jupiter rules Mercury, it's time to find protective, merciful, and/or expansive ways to learn and teach who we are at the base of our "natural Being." This steadies, grounds, and makes the Mercury experience more natural, pleasant, and enjoyable. What we've tended to in our "garden of life, personality, and consciousness" between June 2011 and March 2012 will bring a need to return to simpler joys for pleasure and re-charging our batteries, as well as a “live and let live” attitude.

The entire time Mercury has been retrograde, from March 12 through now, Jupiter has been direct occupying 10-14 Taurus. So from early March through now, the actions that have grounded, secured, captured, or stabilized conditions set into motion in August 2011 have been seen through the Mercury RX lens of multiple angles of exploration and understanding. Now we can move forward into those potentials with greater calm and self-confidence. Those who have been patient are finding that "the reward of patience is patience," and will be able to move forward easily into the future.

The coming 3 months promise major closures on old feelings and ways of life, as well as new openings into greater authenticity, greater values, greater resources, greater enjoyment, and stable abundant activity for all who found what they wanted to cultivate and secure in the way of values and resources since last June. This time has given us a look back to see how we’ve centralized our higher power over the past two years, and we now can find new applications to the possibilities and opportunities opened Summer 2010.

We’ve now had opportunities to reshape our motives, ways of viewing the “movie of our life,” and how we feel compassion while embracing new ways of life over the past several weeks. So now that we've done our rehearsals, reviews, revisions, and/or research on how we can coordinate the parts of this emerging process during the past 3 weeks, it's again time to get it on!!!

Here we face the future, and do what we must to weave elements of that future into our current life and affairs. We continue to divorce attitudes and interpretations no longer appropriate to our emerging process, and can see the interconnectedness of life as we find our unique place to doing our Being in a vaster field of activity.

We now begin to ride the edge of change, finding new forms of self-expression related to the new futures that began March through May 2011 which began to stabilize in June 2011. Mercury direct will open many views and perspectives over the next 3 months, leading to a natural and powerful new set of views in July. We now have gone through a process of learning how we can live our lives on multiple levels and "find fulfillment and happiness in both." By July this will show us what we need to retire from in order to be more authentic in our self-expression.

We're pretty well established in some ways, depending on what we've shown care about. This finishes our shedding old skins of personality, old ghosts from the past, and we are now are empowered to live our lives on our own terms through clarity of motive derived from multiple angles of exploration. Keep opening to new freedom, new ways of seeing how skills can be practiced, new things to learn and new ways to interpret meaning.

Release what needs releasing, and get ready for more important decisions to come. The skills you’ve been practicing will give you the ability to live life on multiple levels and find fulfillment and happiness in both. The Inferior conjunction at 2 Aries has been helping us to see the humor in things to find greater objectivity, and on the whole this retrograde period has been innovative, awakening, liberating, and solidifying. Much of what was promised in early March will be stable factors in our lives between late April and mid-May, so take advantage of this very practical time of understanding and stability to secure conditions however you need to.

Open to new understanding, new views, and new ways of valuing and securing conditions and reliable relationships. Much of what’s released in the near future is directly related to the freedom and willingness to learn and teach set into motion last November. Things will speed up considerably for the next three months, so go for a new freedom in new realms of activity while getting over fear and experiencing what’s truly indestructible in your existence. Innovation and revolution is in the air, so make your adjustments as you go for it!
