The Full Moon at 18 Aries-Libra has a lot of aspect activity, mostly frictional, releasing a lot of energy while providing some highly specialized productivity. Venus square Mars and Moon conjunct Saturn promise some very heavy shifts and realizations!
The period between now and August promises some major activity related to last June’s Gemini Solar Eclipse. A very heavy influence that has shown us the way to free ourselves from the ghosts of the past, I gave you a link at the end of yesterday’s part 1 Full Moon article, so please check it out if you want to know what energies will dominate the next 3 months thanks to Venus and Jupiter.
In 2011 we had opportunities to embrace a greater freedom and effectiveness in new life roles, and are now stabilizing many things into a steady groove of understanding and accomplishment. Though we’ve left a lot behind, we’ve also seen a new vision, and are now completing our philosophical understanding.
Forming aspects show things to come, while separating aspects show things in the past. At this Full Moon, all the planets make some very important forming aspects which indicate a period of shifts, changes, friction, turning points, and conflict between various areas of our lives.
The Moon biquintiles Mercury, sesquisquares Venus, semisquares Mars, triseptiles Jupiter, conjuncts Saturn, and sesquisquares Neptune, while the Sun sesquisquares Mars and opposes Saturn. This sets up major octile action, with a lot of friction, agitation, and crises in quite a few life areas. Among those most affected are planets or points near 18 Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, as well as 3 Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. If you have anything in these areas, expect a certain amount of friction, and perhaps crises of how to act in the middle of major life changes.
We will have to learn to assert the deeper side of our personality strengths, not be jockeyed out of perfectly good opportunities by allowing ourselves to be taken for granted or as nonentities, not get deflected into conflicts with the wrong target, and find more important duties and obligations that challenges us creatively. We are being polarized over the next two weeks, and must get clear about what roles we are playing (as well as the roles we’re not!), and open to new perspectives, new sense of proportion, new sense of balance and/or life rhythms, and restructure whatever is not in equilibrium.
By our willingness to grow through crises precipitated by our ambition, we can see consequences past, present, and future, and choose anew. There will be critical forks in the road for those with planets around 17-19 Libra, 9-11 Sagittarius, 1-3 Aquarius, 23-25 Pisces, 14-16 Taurus, 5-7 Cancer, and 26-28 Leo. (I have FOUR planets in these spans, and I can assure you I am confronting major choices and decisions over the next two weeks! It’s all good, of course, but indicative of heavy decisions to be made and executed!)
Other important forming aspects in this Lunation include Mercury sextile Venus and quincunx Saturn and the incredibly powerful Venus square Mars, along with Venus biquintile Saturn, sextile to Uranus, and biquintile to Pluto. Venus will be the source of major interactive productive activity, and focuses the separating quintile from Saturn to Pluto. This indicates that recent past gifts and unique circumstances indicated by Saturn quintile Pluto will be focused through Venus over the next two weeks.
Mercury quincunx Saturn indicates adjustments in the plan, proportion, or balance of things to achieve the purification symbolized by Mercury. This will result in major productivity in May. Themes of growth are self reliance, spiritual linkage through emotional stress, and the dawning of a new day of new activity. Also a thorough simple enjoyment of things, seeing the appearance of “the beloved” on the “balcony” of our consciousness through us having defined role, function, and imagery precisely according to our individual standards that enables us to offer the fruits of our wisdom in a peaceful manner.
To finish the forming aspects, we find Mars tredecile Jupiter, Jupiter novile Uranus, Saturn quadranovile Uranus, and the ever-present looming heavy vibe of Uranus square Pluto, discussed at length over quite a few articles in the archives. Use the site google box to find out more about this years’ long disruptive revolutionary influence. Welcome to the 21st century of upheaval, transformation, and titanic collisions between a new world being born and an old age that’s digging in even as it’s dying.
That square represents the ongoing revolution of our times, with innovations and pioneering energies in conflict with restrictive and controlling power structures. We’ll be dealing with this for a few years, and it promises to make this year and next very “electric and eclectic,” moving the world through a revolution unlike any seen since the 1960s!!
Uranus is on a degree of finding a way to get clear about who we are and who we’re not at the end of a long cycle. It is freeing us from old limitations and roles so we can come to new truths and values by seeing our challenges as “character building” exercises.
Anyway, the Uranus square Pluto will show us our need to see that we’re confronting the results of previously held ideals while offering up the forms of the past to feed our future. We continue to be challenged to get beyond fear, see things from the past differently, and find relief through expressing the Higher Self that’s been “cut and polished” in past months. We can grow into a larger role when we’re confronted by old Pluto roles, coercions, and heavy-handed corrosive behavior. We can use this square in two big ways, both now and into the future.
We can exercise good Pluto function to put the brakes on negative Uranian manifestations, and good Uranus function to put the brakes on negative Pluto manifestations. Look to the harmonizing aspects to each to show which is building and which one is the release point for those energies. We were shown some great opportunities during the Venus, Mars, and Jupiter trines to Pluto in early March, and will again be able to cut to the chase through efficient functioning once Mars goes direct in a couple of weeks and again trines Pluto for many more weeks to come.
Separating aspects, showing things already happened or accomplished, include Moon opposition Uranus, Mercury quadranovile Mars, septile Jupiter, and quintile Saturn, Venus semisquare Sun and square Neptune, and the Sun conjunct Uranus and semisquare Neptune. Other closely separating aspects include Mars septile Saturn, quincunx Uranus, Jupiter quintile Neptune, and Saturn quintile Pluto, as well as wider Mars trine Pluto, Jupiter trine Pluto, and Saturn trine Neptune.
Overall the separating aspects indicate we’ve just gone through a time when we had some internal shifts in interpersonal perspective and ideals, choices connected to how we could solidify our opportunities, clarity about how we would be taken by others, and major “crises of decision” that will continue through April that will affect our destiny for a long time to come. We all came to some understandings in January and February that helped ground our momentum (however slight) in early March. We’ve had unique gifts of intuition about the larger field we’re in, and now can continue with practical adjustments fueled by our imagination that will help us more clearly define who we are and who we’re not.
Remember that the qualities of the Full Moon express whatever new directions we were shown at the previous New Moon. You will recall its theme is that we have entered revolutionary and exciting new life conditions, where we will be able to envision entirely new dimensions of being using our imagination. Revolution and innovation will pervade this period, along with highly specialized conditions and unique gifts that will endure for a long time.
Here's more about the seeds being release by the current Full Moon. Briefly, from the New Moon article covering this period,
It’s a time that will bring us all to major turning points in our lives due to a very powerful septile-driven configuration that isn’t the Grand Irrationality, but will be just as important in determining our futures…This New Moon in Aries gives us all one last look back before we spring into forward motion over the next 4 weeks. Revolution and innovation will pervade this period… (which is) a natural expression of new circumstances that will fill the void left by the Sagittarius Solar Eclipse of November 2011.
This follows the recent period of stable and harmonious understanding where we saw newer and better life standards that allowed us to see the indestructible elements in our lives…. it'll be a time of very action oriented productivity with a social emphasis.
The Light of this New Moon shines on a greater ideal of action and new beginnings that will help all of us individualize according to our vision and creativity. With Mercury retrograde at 1 Aries, we can take a new look at what has emerged since June 2010 and find power in seeing how it’s related to a larger life and purpose.
Keep moving into an ever-clearer understanding of how to make things work on practical levels by keeping it organized and balanced. Do your “window shopping” to find what you need to do your thing in public ways while allowing a new spontaneity to come forth by letting go of the need to have ego in control.
Intuition is sky high at this time, with major rewards for those who understand the unique needs of the collective and find protective forms that help them avoid unnecessarily aggressive or assertive people and situations. The trick will be to know how and when to act powerfully and directly when it might be easier to worry, nitpick, or hang back unnecessarily.
... The Light of this New Moon shines on a greater ideal of compassion and timeless feelings that are common to the entire human race. There is potential for tremendous growth through seeing how the past has fed this future, and reclaiming the power of timeless knowledge and wisdom as conditioning forces giving us a vaster perspective on what we're here to do.
Keep moving into an ever-clearer understanding of how to make things work on practical levels by keeping it organized and balanced. Practice skills helping you and others bridge “chasms” while staying attuned to the invisible realms for help and techniques of using power efficiently and wisely. Here the vision moves forward based in a solid intuition of what’s passing and what’s already established...
A little more:
… this period involves identifying with a larger life, and becoming a potential source of inspiration once we see what ideal we are here to demonstrate to others. This time can help us see how to be an “avatar of greater collective reality,” and find new ways to participate in the emergent larger global patterns of newness and change currently taking shape all over the world….This New Moon falls at 3 Aries, “A cameo profile of a man in the outline of his country….” this degree is one of “the individual self as an avatar of greater collective reality; as participant in the larger scheme of society or life.”
… this degree involves "The sustaining power of the Whole, as the individual identifies himself with its life.” He states “having become objectively aware of his nature and his basic humanity, the individualizing person finds power and inner security in realizing his essential identity with the section of the universe in which he operates.” He offers that this is a “participation mystique” between our individual consciousness and the Universal Consciousness.
… this symbol is a phase where if we can identify ourselves with a larger complex of life activities, we can become “an agent through whom the Whole may express itself in an act of creative resonance and outpouring,” in other words, an “avatar.” This provides us an opportunity to become an ideal of a form of “transpersonal life and consciousness totally consecrated to and directed by a divine Power,” the Archetypal Self.
So by our willingness to participate in a “greater life,” we can become a manifestation of some collective need, vision, ideal, or yearning, and overcome any lurking sense of isolation, alienation, or feeling some form of the meaninglessness of life. We are told it falls in the span of “Realization,” and it’s the third degree of the actional level of the scene of Desire in the Act of Differentiation. So for the next 4 weeks this Lunation will teach us how to synthesize our awareness of how we can grow into a larger life and become the answer to some collective need, ideal, or function.
According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, this degree is a “breadth of participation in everyday affairs,” where we “epitomize (our) tradition and culture.” He states this symbol is one of “both an impersonal self-dedication to broader community interests and a highly personal dramatization of the self as a focus for group actuality.”
He offers us the keyword of EXPLOITATION. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this is a degree of our “capacity for giving full play to every ramification of the reality (we) have created for (ourselves)."
So we enter a time of seeing a greater “avataric” role we can play, or a greater participation in life where we can impersonally dedicate ourselves to “broader community interests” and some group actualization. This will kick open new doors to new visions of self and society, and offers us all a chance to break through to a new dimension of awareness, function, and effectiveness.
(By all means please check out both articles these are lifted from, since there’s a lot more I didn’t include here.)
This Full Moon chart shows a “Splay” Jones pattern, defined by the strong clustering at odd angles of the planets in the chart. This forces us to adapt, and stay centered despite the disparate influences swirling around us. Just remember that some things won’t blend well, and are only present because we are diverse people with diverse interests.
The November-December Eclipses indicate that over the past several months we’ve launched into a new collective vibe and adventure in deeper and vaster consciousness, and are now at the threshold of moving forward into clearer individuality, knowing who we are, ready to show up and do the next life chapter. We've all emerged from our cocoon, leaving old forms of protection and finding new ones, and growing in foresight to anticipate what's coming and imagining "future forms of supply."
As I've mentioned in other Lunation articles, a major factor in this season is that Neptune now stands close to "the cusp of the Age." It’s now moved forward from its stationary direct transformational degree of 29 Aquarius where we have been collectively transfigured, and is now at 3 Pisces where we can glimpse the indestructible elements in our existence.
Neptune in very early Pisces has major implications for humanity as a whole. I’ve discussed this phenomenon of Neptune dancing back and forth between early Pisces and late Aquarius in previous articles, opening the collective consciousness to the energies of this transitional period, this “time cusp” between the Age of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius. This happened throughout 2011 into early 2012.
In the larger precessional Age, our world is at 1 Pisces right now. Thanks to prior transits of both Neptune and Chiron to this degree, many of us have collectively awakened to a vast connectedness with all Life and all Time. This degree is one of joyously rallying as we begin the closing of a long cycle. Fairness is paramount in all dealings, and with Saturn in Libra, the scales are weighing many things right now.
Dr. Marc Edmund Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, points out that the first degree of Pisces, the degree of Neptune in this Lunation and "the cusp of the Age," is "a symbol of full maturity in (humanity's) social estate, with an emphasis on the group integrity" facilitating each to develop their special patterns. This degree is about a willingness for each of us to do our part in the larger "common ideals of a community life."
Here we refine our ambition through "a consistent generosity toward the aims of others with a real intensity of effort directed toward its own ends." The keyword is COMMERCE, and when positive, this degree "is an exceptional capacity for organizing the converging and conflicting interests of many people in practical arrangements of mutual benefit."
Neptune first camped out on this degree from April through July 2011, and made it a “hot spot” through going stationary RX there in early June 2011. It then moved across that degree in February 2012, making it significant in the New and Full Moon charts for that month.
It will retrograde back into 1 Pisces in late September 2012, go direct on that degree in mid-November, and continue to occupy 1 Pisces until the end of December 2012. So besides the long range activation of the point via Neptune going stationary RX and direct there, it also played a big part in the 2011 Summer Solstice chart and will be active in the coming 2011 Autumnal Equinox and Winter Solstice charts.
So 1 Pisces describes where humanity as a whole is at right now in terms of the larger evolutionary arc between the Age of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius. I believe we will finally enter the Age of Aquarius sometime between 2045-2070, when we all will see the concrete manifestations of Aquarian patterns that were awakened by Uranus and have been dreamed into collective consciousness by Neptune during these planets' movement through late Aquarius. (Please also check out part one of that series since it elaborates on the transition between the Age of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius.)
Mars and Pluto rule the Sun in the Lunation, while the Moon is ruled by Venus and TransPluto. Mars is still trine Pluto, showing a fundamental stability in how each functions. The square between Venus and Mars indicates the rulers of the Lights are not harmonious with each other, and require a maximum of flexibility, humor, compassion, and willingness to see a larger point of view, as well as what we share in the way of values rather than the differences.
So the backdrop of the Sun is that the Light in each of us will involve opening our imagination to envision new ways of doing things efficiently and creatively while overcoming fear. The ability to “live rhythmically” based in the Solar degree will require being economical in how we do what we do, and make sure we are using the right means to achieve our ends. The Sun separating conjunction to Uranus shows something has been awakened in each of us, and many of us are now confronting new responsibilities, duties, and authorship that will be developed in April and May.
The Moon, ruled by Venus and TransPluto, shows that the Lunar “facing consequences” theme has as its backdrop the discoveries of Venus and sharing of TransPluto that are somewhat at odds with the Solar function due to Venus square Mars. Venus biquintile Pluto shows that the backdrop to the Moon will be uniquely interactive with the Plutonic function prodding us to get beyond fear, even while it curbs excess worry, criticism, and nit-picking, just as Mars can help us efficiently block old formalities to open learning, foresight, humor, and a poised wisdom that stands apart from the dramas of life.
In this Lunation chart, apart from the solitary final dispositor of Neptune in Pisces, we have one chain of dispositors that governs the rest of the planet. Venus in Gemini is disposited by Mercury in Pisces disposited by Jupiter in Taurus disposited by Venus. That makes the sextile from Mercury to Venus very strong, and shows a general tendency toward productive activity, whether through the purifications indicated by Mercury, the formalizations indicated by Venus, or the strength of character being cultivated by Jupiter.
To sum up, this Lunation gives us a chance to “live rhythmically” by avoiding extremes and “preserving potency” expressed as a balancing of the personal and the profession, the private and the public areas of our lives. We can see how what has been has yielded what is, and how to get about the strife and oscillations of daily life to be more dynamic in our life initiatives. Be careful and precise as you begin to execute the long term plan with efficiency and an eye to details.
All in all, the next two weeks should show us how past actions have created current circumstances, and even out some of the imbalances in our lives. While some will go through “trials of endurance,” they’re just showing you how much strength of character you have. Purify, allow your Higher Self to take command of the physical, emotional, and mental vehicles, find a way to formalize recent discoveries, and find a transcendent peace through equipoise and balanced view.
We continue to be in a time where we can come to a balanced understanding leading to a greater vision of how we can serve the better interests of a larger reality. The powerful beginnings of March through May 2011 that began to be solidified last then have now established peaceful, gentle wisdom patterns that can slowly and steadily bring us to whatever we need to confirm to anchor a new truth and future.
Keep reaching out to allies with whom you could build a new future and a new collective reality. The repair and reconstruction work we’ve been doing the past few months will begin to yield results over the next few months, and much that’s been hanging undone should begin to move forward by the time this period is over.
Fully embrace your power to choose your course, see the indestructible elements of your deepest connection to Spirit and humanity at larger, hear the call to renew your dedication, and grow into a greater freedom and love. Imagination is everything, and can yield clarity and a sense of humor about what's happening and why, so get ready, stick to the plan, and let go of all that isn’t you. You have nothing else to lose but your fear.
