Yes, Uranus square Pluto and Jupiter square Neptune are now separating. But in Astrology it’s a fact that for the span of 2 degrees separating, an aspect is still in full force. So while we’re past the forming stage, we’re still in the most volatile point of the larger process. It’s a global turning point!
So both Jupiter square Neptune and Uranus square Pluto are highly active over the next few weeks. While Jupiter will move out of the most volatile square zone by July 5, Uranus will be almost exactly square Pluto through the end of October! Each of these squares will be re-activated by Lunar aspects twice a week, so don’t get too comfortable thinking they’re in our rear view mirror!!
I talked about the 5 major events occurring between June 24-30 last Friday in Astrology in June-July 2012 – A Turning Point For Everyone On Earth so take a new look if you want a few more specifics about what this week is about. At least Saturn and Venus are about to move forward, which should help us all to regain momentum in all things related to these planets and the signs they rule and occupy.
Mercury enters Leo today at 7:24 pm PDT, and within 24 hours will begin to transit its so-called “shadow zone,” aka the span of degrees through which it will retrograde beginning July 14-15. I’ll be writing a bunch of articles about the coming Mercury retrograde in Leo over the next few weeks, so stay tuned! For now, it’s going to sextile Jupiter and quincunx Neptune this week, helping us all get focused wherever we have early Capricorn in our charts.
These aspects will provide productive harmony between our Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces sectors, while requiring adjustments wherever we have early Leo, early Libra, early Capricorn, and early Pisces. Expect adjustments, sacrifices, and the need to pay attention to our spontaneous self-expressions related to collective consciousness.
Since Mercury will be slowing down soon, preparing to go retrograde, it will be septile Mars for about a week in early July, showing a threshold of major shifts in order to finish our Mars in Virgo need to practicality as it slips into Libra and begins its Cardinal T-square. As the recent Mercury in Cancer T-square and the coming Solar T-square throw the energy into the void of Libra, and Mars will be traversing that span in mid-July, consider that the conflicts of the past several weeks and the coming week are showing us what we’ll have to do or take into consideration during the mid-July Mars T-square that creates a void in early Cancer.
So we’ve been going through Cancer to demonstrate Libra, and soon will be actively demonstrating Libra to fix whatever Cancerian problems are indicated by the coming Mars-induced T-square. This indicates a very volatile time, where our current need for sensitivity and self-gathering activities will draw energy according to what we’ve been putting out there in mid-July.
You can get a sense of what’s coming when the Moon in Libra triggers this T-square while making a Grand Cardinal Cross this Tuesday and Wednesday, June 26-27. Pay attention, since it’s a dress rehearsal for what’s coming in July!!
In any case, we are now in the heart of one of the most volatile periods in this tumultuous year! And for those in the US, it seems like its coming down via the Supreme Court that states’ rights are now dead when it comes to states running their own elections, and money rules the political process despite state laws to the contrary.
At least they ruled that children cannot be sent to prison for life, or executed. That means we’ve finally joined the rest of the world in acknowledging that children should not be executed. What a country!
There are more rulings that no doubt will polarize our country more than it already is, and the one to come later this week is sure to fester the “cold civil war” now gripping the United States. Given the volatility in other regions of the world right now, it’s obvious that we’ve slipped past a point of no return, and that major conflicts between intractable forces are in the future for all of us.
Get ready to surf the wave, and remember that we must outlive and outlast the destructive forces which will dominate our world for years to come, thanks to the Uranus square Pluto. So to come full circle today, it’s a global turning point, and we’ve just begun!!

So, a close friend and I have a crazy astrological formation going on this upcoming week with the transits: our Suns are exactly opposing, and together with the transiting planets at 7-9 degrees, we fill in 10 signs of that degree span: His Pluto (9 Scorpio), His Saturn/Juno (7 Sag), T Pluto (9 Cap), His Sun (8 Aquarius), T Chiron (9 Pisces), T Uranus (8 Aries), My Chiron/Artemis (9 Taurus), His Chiron/ T Venus (9/7 Gemini), T Sun (8 Cancer), My Sun (8 Leo). The only gaps are Virgo and Libra - as it is, this formation makes 4 grand kites, 2 mystic rectangles, and 6 Yods. Is this unusual?
The planets involved are Sun, Pluto, Chiron, and Uranus, with the addition of Venus and Saturn/Juno. I'm thinking this has to do with healing, power issues, insight and change, and the self and relationships.
There's also a couple other formations of note, taking place later this week when T Sun moves into position: T Mercury will be opposing my Vertex (2 Aquarius) and squaring his Nodes (4 Taurus/Scorpio), and T Mars will conjunct my Mars/North Node (27-28 Virgo), forming a mystic triangle with his Mars (27 Scorpio) and my Juno (29 Cap) - and another mystic triangle with my South Node. Oh, and Venus is stationing direct, and T Neptune is exactly conjunct my Descendant/opposing my Ascendant (spiritually I have been feeling an energetic connection with my friend).
Your articles always contain deep astrological insight - I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on all this.

Thank you again for this very timely and crucial information. I continue to watch the situation with the EU and the Euro. They are getting slammed again today in global markets. Then there is Egypt, Syria, etc. Things are definitely on the move.

Thank you for the article. this little Cancer woman is sick and tired of the Uranus Pluto square and now i'm basically turning my back on it. (Sun and Jupiter in 7º-8º Cancer.) I'm trying to ignore it because there's nothing i can do about it. i've got a birthday on June 29 and i'm going to be happy inspite of it. so there!! Namaste :)
