The Astrology of Destiny On The Move in July-August 2012 - Sun and Mercury Triggering the Grand Irrationality

Yes, even as Venus exits the Gemini zone of the Grand Irrationality, the Sun has begun its week long journey through the Leo zone, to be joined by Mercury retrograde beginning July 25. This will power up crucial shifts we all confronted in some form late June-early July when Mercury in early Leo first triggered the Grand Irrationality.

As long time readers know, the Grand Irrationality is a term I created many years ago to describe the large scale non-rational atmosphere the entire world entered back around 1995. It explains the frequent obsessive, compulsive, and weird hard-edged behaviors many of us have confronted, or learned to live with, or learned to walk away from, over these years. I’ll try to pull together a few things I’ve written over the past year or so about the Grand Irrationality for an article elaborating on this phenomenon in the near future.

It’s anchored by Neptune in Pisces septile Pluto in Capricorn. The septile series aspects are said to be “forks in the road,” where choices made create changes in our life that affect our potential destinies. These phases in our evolution occur within a larger 7-step pattern, and so when active, we know we must choose carefully, since our future literally depends on what choices we make.

These occur to every planet in our charts on a regular basis. This particular time involves a transit to transit aspect, showing something working or playing out in the larger atmosphere related to how the Sun is triggering first Pluto and then Neptune by making triseptiles to each. So the Illuminator and Magnetic Empowerer (the Sun) is making crucial angles in its year cycle to the outermost Transpersonal planets, the Dissolver/Unifier (Neptune) and Transformer/Purifier (Pluto.)

As noted recently during the Venus transit of the Gemini zone of the Grand Irrationality, at this time in history the 7 zones of this configuration involve (approximately) 7-11 Capricorn, 29 Aquarius-3 Pisces, 20-24 Aries, 12-16 Gemini, 3-7 Leo, 25-29 Virgo, and 16-20 Scorpio. If you have a planet or sensitive point in any of these zones, you’re going through some important decisions and changes that will affect your future in powerful ways. And you will confront important events and realizations when planets transit these zones, whether you realize it at the time or not.

Obviously when the Moon goes through any of these zones, it triggers anywhere from a third to sixth point, depending on what’s occupying the other zones. During this coming period the Sun and then Mercury will be putting this configuration into play via their stay in early Leo, which will then be followed in early August when Jupiter enters the Gemini zone and stays there for a few months.

So the Grand Irrationality will be put into play when the Moon is in late Virgo July 23-24, mid-Scorpio July 26-27, early Capricorn July 30-31, late Aquarius and early Pisces August 3-4, late Aries August 7-8, and mid-Gemini August 11-12. During those times it will add emphasis to the other planetary energies triggering this configuration from Gemini (Jupiter beginning August), Leo (Mercury during late July through mid-August), Capricorn (Pluto), and Pisces (Neptune).

Given Jupiter will be there for quite a while, you may want to mark your calendars for Sept 8-12, since we'll have 4 points active and during that time the Moon will conjunct Jupiter and then Venus. As Venus will be in Leo, and Jupiter will be in Gemini, whatever develops then will have a direct relationship with whatever has been coming down lately with Venus in Gemini and now Sun and Mercury in Leo.

So keep in mind that we'll all be making critical decisions and/or making some important changes wherever we have early Leo in our chart, affecting areas (houses and planets) in Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Sagittarius, Capricorn, and Pisces. As that involves a large amount of our charts, the near future will be very important in many life areas!
