In my life, as well as the lives of my friends and clients, I’ve been seeing a specific need for a certain kind of energy to get things done effectively. I have termed it “order of priority.”
Since it seems to be an issue for many I know, and working out in countless ways in many lives, I believe it’s a global necessity. Looking at the cosmic influences, I suspect it’s one solution to how we can use the Uranus square Pluto effectively. I’ve seen that square work out as trying to “push the river,” or hurry things up that can’t be hurried, or needing to do something but there’s a jam in the flow.
The “order of priority” is the solution wherever there’s a blockage or problem with the flow of things naturally unfolding as they should. Wherever we’re trying to accomplish something, this is the primary issue to keep in mind. So just what is the "order of priority," and what does it mean?
I believe it involves knowing what moves to make and when. I have found if we’re trying to get something done, we need a proper sense of what comes first, what comes second, what comes third, and so forth. However, in thinking what needs to be done, we have to figure out what needs to be done BEFORE we do what we think needs to be done. Simple, right? Not unless we think the plan through in terms of the priority of what needs to be done in order that the next steps naturally unfold.
An example. Say we want to sell our home, move to a new location, and find a new job. The natural thing is to think about where we can move, what it will look like, finding a new place while doing a job search, and then moving at the right time. But that’s not the order of priority!
If a move is to be done in any orderly fashion, the order of priority is not to look for a job and new home. The order of priority is to begin packing so that we can move our stuff out of the rooms of the house that need to be patched and painted. We cannot do those things if we’re living somewhere else. We cannot do those things if our stuff is strewn around the current home and we can’t get the space to patch and paint. We cannot list the house for sale unless we patch and paint and get stuff as out of the way as possible so the house will show well.
So in order to move, we must first pack. Then while we’re still in our old residence, we must do what it will take to show well while researching housing where we want to live and the job market there. Once our stuff is packed and the house is fixed up, THEN we can focus on moving into the right place at the right time. (It’s also tough to get a new job and show up for work if we’re not done moving, so moving is usually better before we have to show up for work rather than after!!) We cannot move before we are packed up, and we certainly should fix up what needs fixing while we’re there and not somewhere else.
So basically we need to stay focused, not on what we think needs to be done when we think it needs to be done, but on doing the most natural thing to do, here and now. That will be the thing, that when accomplished, will naturally open the next things to do. This seems to be of universal importance right now, and if I’m right and it’s a byproduct of Uranus square Pluto, we’ll need to cultivate and apply these skills now and well into next year.
So if you feel like there’s resistance in something you’re trying to do, stop feeling like you have to push the river. You don't. You just need to do exactly what needs to be done here and now so that you can easily move into the next function naturally at the right time down the road.
Stay open to being inspired however is needed at present. Mars is in Sagittarius and favorable to Uranus for the entire month of October, especially during the last week. Just remember to give thanks when you realize that you’ve achieved movement in a new direction, or gotten to a new place, even if it's just the beginning.
Many things will unfold naturally from these changes we’re going through at present that will lead us to a radically different life from the one we’ve been living. Expect significant developments when Mars transits Capricorn beginning the third week of November through the end of December. That will be when our sense of order and priority will prove to be dynamically effective or some unanticipated things will present themselves that we’ll have to deal with so that other things can move forward after that.
Since Uranus is in Aries, it will also be helpful to remember that the challenge of that sign is to be the best version of ourselves that we can be without getting discouraged or focusing on the negative things we wish were different. This is a delicate dance to be sure, but we must master the erratic energies or Uranus in the self-initiating sign of Aries as they dance in a frictional aspect with Pluto, the cosmic purifier that breaks down old forms and forces us back to the seeds of future flowers.
Try to keep in mind that if we had perfect knowledge we'd know when we were and weren't being "the best version" of ourselves. Again, this takes us back to the fact that we're all facing issues of "order of priority." Sometimes being our best function is knowing what we have to do before we can accomplish something else that will lead us to a form of fulfillment.
We can find a true gift in seeing what will contribute to a more effective order, both in our lives and the lives of others. It’s all just a matter of finding the right point of view, and the right order of priority.
This relates to the wisdom of our old friend the I Ching when it states "the best way to fight evil is to make progress in the good." The generation of Bodhichitta, or "will to good," is as easy as learning how to turn in a new direction right NOW. By knowing the order of priority, and putting our energy into motion, we can quickly move away from unhelpful patterns in thought, feeling, action, and speech, and move into new patterns that are more in line with our "enlightened self-interest.”
Then we’re taking the initiative to use the Pluto in Capricorn power to cultivate those seeds of enlightened self-interest and demonstrating those in individual ways through Uranus in Aries without the head butting and gear jamming that the square often demonstrates. Once we find the “order of priority,” then each step unfolds as it should in an organized way, and the momentum keeps us moving toward the object of our intention.

Thanks Robert, great post.
How often I forget the term “counter-intuitive”. I have a project that has just been dragging on without success. This is a timely reminder.

This sense of things unfolding in a step by step evolution is exactly what I am feeling/thinking. No peering beyond the walls, just scaling the stairs to who knows where.

What a truly profound post ... and just in the nick of time when I was feeling grumpy and irritated after so much incredible stuff has manifested and is manifesting ... way to pick up on the flow of what needed to be read/heard. Bless you!

hi Robert, this is a great article. i am one of these people! searching, questioning, hoping and wishing for the last three years since i lost my job. still haven't found one and am coming to terms with the situation. approaching my second Saturn return right now (2º Scorpio) on the cusp of my 9th house so it's no wonder. this is very appropriate advice. thank you! Namaste :)

Thank you, Robert...
the timing of this is right on...
It speaks to me, as I was training for somthing that I didn,t really want to do. Just before I had to take a test to complete the process and make it final, I listened to my real feelings, and had a conversation with my supervisor...and told her how I really felt.
I realize I have gone from one thing to another, that I really wasnt thrilled about...jobs/relationships etc.
Somewhere along the way, (I think carrying to much "past baggage") shut down my ability to "hear-feel" my inner voice, or I have believed that I didn,t deserve what I truely wanted.
Julia Roberts in "Eat, Pray, Love" was on TV the other night...about having a passion for somthing...vs just going through motions.
My "feelings/desires" are shifting....
Next months eclipse falls ontop of/conjunct less than a degree, my sun....endings/beginnings?

Thank-you Robert. I can relate to this as I have been trying to get workers to finish off work on my house for 12 months now. It has been very frustrating as everyone is busy or unreliable. I have been taking the approach of trying to do as much prep. work as I can and have back up plans, but it's still not happening. Patience is not 1 of my virtues.

Pisces Sun/Cancer Rising/Sagittarius Moon & Mars. Venus, Saturn in Aries. This article was JUST what I needed. I am in between my full-time job, promoted into a leading position where I must proof myself before a bunch of critical onlookers... and my heart that is longing to put the large international personal projects I have in mind into action already. I felt like I was letting myself down and there is no way out; no time and no resources. How?
By reading this, I remembered: it is really about trusting and doing whatever is required *right now*. OMG, this is so hard sometimes when you don't see the future yet. But I will get there and prepare myself for my new life. From the inside out. Step by step. Strapping on my battle gear to fight the fear. *smile*

Thank you for switching the light on Robert! Great 'Aha!' moment reading this. It shed some light on what's been going on and suddenly things fell into place. I will practice Saturn patience and start believing all things are possible if I get my priorities in the right order. Thank you again.
