This Penumbral Lunar Eclipse Full Moon at 7 Sagittarius-Gemini will bring opportunities to find a new truth, a greater love, a deeper faith, and alternate ways of understanding old ideas and experiences. This period begins 4 1/2 months of regeneration and taking responsibility for what we’ve seen or understood before now.
As a result of the FOUR Solar Eclipses in 2011, coupled with the May 2012 Solar Eclipse, the June Lunar Eclipse, the recent Scorpio Solar Eclipse, as well as this Lunar Eclipse, we continue to be in a period where we are shutting down old Gemini energies or in some way are “liquidating the ghosts of the past.” Here it’s good to remember that changing life patterns is sometimes like steering an ocean liner. It takes a while to get oriented toward one’s better destination!
Therefore this Lunar Eclipse involving Gemini and Sagittarius energies is related to the June 2011 Solar Eclipse in Gemini and the Total Lunar Eclipse in Gemini-Sag that same month. Though the Christ Fest Lunar Eclipses of 2011 and 2012 are no longer in direct effect, all of these previous Eclipses that involve Sun in Sag and Moon in Gemini are related. I’ve given links to all these previous Eclipses in past articles, so they’re easy to find if you want to know more.
This is the second of several Eclipses where we’ve begun to grow toward new Scorpio energies, thanks to the North Node being the line of greatest development between Sept 2012 and Feb 2014 That continues to put the growth on exploring deeper things related to desires, magnetism, the unknown, and eliminating outmoded parts of existence while holding the space and focusing on what to attract to fill the life in the future.
With Mars in Capricorn ruling the North Node, open to more efficient ways of acting and doing what must be done to further the seeds of your own life authorship. Get organized, take whatever responsibility needs to be shown, and begin to execute the plan. Yes, it really is time to learn ways to “put on the show!”
This Penumbral Lunar Eclipse will begin a several month "shut down" in the houses it occupies in our charts. Given that it happens while Mercury is still on its stationary direct degree, you can bet that this period marks a platform from which many new futures will develop, demonstrated by what we think and understand that shows us the blessing of having let go of major elements in our past these past 18 months.
Like most Lunar Eclipses, this one ushers in a transitional period (in this case, about 4 1/2 months) that will clear things out of our lives, and especially our past (the Moon). The space created can attract circumstances and people through which we can develop skills helping us deal with the wild ride of The Grand Irrationality that's in continuous motion during these months and years. (The degree spans in that article applied then; I updated those spans in the recent article on Mercury going stationary direct influencing the next 4 months also linked below.
A brief overview of this Lunar Eclipse shows the period ruled by this Full Moon will illuminate our consciousness and how it approaches spiritual truths or alternate futures, showing us how open minded we are or not. These will take form as greater faith in our ability to do what we must to cultivate our faith in our skill. This skill will protect us as we find what we need for nourishment, whether of body, feelings, or mind.
Here we see the light of a greater happiness, a greater love, a greater enthusiasm for life, demonstrated in what knowledge we seek within a greater protection or grace that helps us see the blessing of shedding the ghosts of the past. Those who have received a “communication,” express it. Those who need a communication, peacefully adapt as you offer your wisdom to your world.
Ultimately this is a “distributing” Full Moon, and given the aspects in play, the next two weeks (and 4 ½ months!) will throw us into new adventures, new futures, and many sacrifices that will focus us on where we need to expand spiritually in the future. The period of time influenced by this Eclipse will be interactive, intensifying, regenerative, and productive for those doing “repair work.”
So eliminate what you must, get inspired and focused, and open to some form of social or emotional rebirth. Overall this will be a very productive period, even if there are some magnetic patterns that must be eliminated, or at least go through a sacrifice or adjustment in how they function. The one good thing is that the major triggers of the Grand Irrationality have already been pulled, so there should be no confusion as to the forks in the road of destiny you’ve already taken.
Today’s article will cover rising signs around the world, an overview of the Lunation, and the Sabian Symbols. Part 3 will cover the aspects, configurations and patterns, and which signs are most likely to be affected by where this falls in their charts. This distributing and discovery-oriented (and intensely magnetic!) Full Moon at 7 degrees of Sagittarius and Gemini, helping us get clear about higher truths and loves in our lives and consciousness, expressed through forms showing us a new faith or effort, occurs November 28 at 6:46 am PST, 9:46 am EST, and 2:46 pm Greenwich (UT).
Now on to the rising signs around the world. The Lunation finds 8 Sagittarius rising in Santa Monica, 26 Scorpio in Vancouver, 10 Capricorn in Montreal, and 12 Capricorn in Washington DC, showing (from west to east) the end of Scorpio through all of Sagittarius into the first half of Capricorn as the rising signs across North America. We move east where we find 9 Pisces rising in Rio, 17 Aries in Lisbon, 12 Taurus in London, 5 Gemini in Berlin, 6 Gemini in Sofia, 6 Gemini in Cairo, 12 Taurus in Johannesburg, and 6 Cancer in Moscow.
Moving into Asia and Oceana, we find the Ascendants to be 18 Cancer in Abbottabad, 18 Cancer in New Delhi, 10 Cancer in Trivandrum, 18 Leo in Hong Kong, 13 Virgo in Tokyo, 30 Cancer in Perth, 5 Virgo in Melbourne (Nov 29), 20 Virgo in Brisbane, 25 Libra in Wellington , and 9 Scorpio rising on Maui (Nov 28).
Because the New Moon preceding the Full Moon always represents the seed forms that are brought to surface at and after the Full Moon, please check out the recent New Moon Solar Eclipse articles The Total Solar Eclipse at 22 Scorpio Nov 13-14, 2012 Pt. 1 - Who Does It Affect and for How Long? and The Solar Eclipse at 22 Scorpio Nov 13-14, 2012 Pt. 2 - How Will It Manifest? There’s more at The Total Solar Eclipse at 22 Scorpio Nov 13-14, 2012 Pt. 3 - Signs, Sabian Symbols, and What It All Means
Those around the world who will definitely feel effects of this Eclipse Full Moon are the places where its shadow falls, as well as where it occurs near the angles of the chart. As noted yesterday, the shadow falls east of a line running from West India to Moscow, encompassing all of Asia and the Pacific over to Alaska. Places on our list where the Lunation is near the angles and activating energies powerfully are (Sun/Moon): Santa Monica and Vancouver (ASC/DSC), Rio (MC/IC), Berlin, Sofia, and Cairo (DSC/ASC), and Hong Kong, Tokyo, Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne (IC/MC).
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. This particular Lunation makes a powerful Yod, or “Finger of God,” through the Venus sextile Mars conjunct Pluto and all of them quincunx the Moon in Gemini. I’ve explained this important configuration in the recent article Mercury Stationary Direct Affecting November-December 2012 and January-February 2013 – Cosmic Messages Coming Through Cleaning Out Old Ideas
Please check out what’s elaborated on in that article, since many of the same aspects in play at that stationary direct point are still in force in this Lunar Eclipse chart. Other than the Yod, the only major aspects made by this Lunation are Moon conjunct Jupiter and Sun opposed Jupiter, showing a focus on a reorientation of service, a reclaiming of momentum and initiative, and a need for new forms of self-dramatization.
Mercury rules the Moon and is in Scorpio, while Jupiter rules the Sun and conjuncts the Moon in Gemini, making the Moon the dominant planet in this Lunation. I’ll discuss the planetary aspects and dispositors of the Sun and Moon in part 3, which will explain the complex mix of specializing initiating, stabilizing, and distributive energies pervading this chart. In any case, this chart opens new ways, truths, and lives that will ultimately lead us to feeling much deeper in our connection to each other and life itself.
As with the last Full Moon, due to the intensification of Scorpio energies this one can also put us in touch with a deeper reality, or a “depth understanding” of what’s “beneath the surface of daily living.” This one is enormously productive in fostering elimination of the old and regeneration of magnetism to attract what is needed in the now-future. This one will continue to help us attract new material in our lives as a result of the voids left during the last two Full Moon periods, which I partially described last month and the month before:
There is much in this chart that could be described through the lyrics of the Sagittarian bard, “Made the scene, Week to week, Day to day, Hour to hour, The gate is straight, Deep and wide, Break on through to the other side, Break on through to the other side ...”
We now enter a period of a new promise, new truths, new magnetism, and a greater faith that if we do what must be done we shall receive the nourishment we need from cooperating with Nature. Here we “levitate” into a new view of who we are and what we can accomplish. Just enjoy the experience of a deeper connection with a larger reality and larger love, and revise your ideas, visions, and interpretations accordingly.
Is the Sun Following the Moon, or the Moon Following the Sun?
This is the sixth Full Moon where the Sun falls in the subsequent sign to the Sun at the previous New Moon. This is the next step in a reversal of what we experienced between September 2010 and June 2011. We last had this sequence of Full Moon Suns in different signs than the previous New Moon from July 2009 through September 2010. Since then, we’ve had a sequence of the New Moon Sun being in the same sign as the next Full Moon Sun. As I've explained in previous Full Moon articles,
... the Full Moon being in a subsequent sign than the previous New Moon indicates that what is released as realizations in the Full Moon period actually "prepares the ground" for the coming New Moon seed. Strange reversal of function, since you would think the New Moon provides the seed for the next Full Moon. But this set of Lunations works the opposite way....Another way to look at this is the Sun sign of the Full Moon is the same as and precedes the Sun sign of the next New Moon, reversing the usual way Lunations work. So the fulfillment of the Full Moon sets up the next "seed" to be revealed at the next New Moon....
So we’re no longer in the previous “normal” New Moon-Full Moon cycle, where we experienced the illuminated form shown to us at the New Moon fulfilled by the light of the same sign at the subsequent Full Moon. The New Moons all fell in the first half of their signs and the Full Moons all fell in the last half of their signs through May 2012. Seeds shown in the first half, fulfillment in the second half makes some kind of sense.
This Full Moon falls at 7 Gemini-Taurus. It is said that the first third (decan) of any sign deals with the actional, physical, material levels of life, and being the first decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of those signs, Gemini and Sagittarius.
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar degree symbol for the 7th degree of Sagittarius is “Cupid knocking at the door.” Rudhyar says this is a degree of “the happiness which awaits every man willing to accept its fullness,” “rounding out of experience,” and “the call to love’s feast.”
In the Mandala he goes on to say this is a degree of "a stirring-up of individual longings for romantic love.” He states this degree refers to “a personal initiation through an ideal love,” which of course may or may not have anything to do with a person, since individual love can be directed toward any end.
This could be a love about what might fulfill “unconscious needs,” or it could be an attraction to our heart’s desire in some form. It could be the result of thought forms projected into the ethers at a previous time, or it could be the reward for daring to open to being a new way. In any case, expect an intensification of the will-to-love, whether in a conditional or unconditional form.
So the illumination available via this Full Moon is through the Light of expanding our receptivity to, and ability to express, a greater love, which can bring us “an intensity of feeling which no group togetherness can arouse.” He says this is a challenge to emotional rebirth, and states this degree falls in the Span of Receptiveness, Act of Group-Integration, and Scene of Abstraction on the Emotional-Cultural level.
Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of “the unimpeachable resources of life on the side of social self-renewals and psychological self-fulfillment.” It speaks to “the incurably romantic leaning” of humankind, and our ability to “refine or alter” elements of personality willingly so we can enter into relationships that quicken us.
He states that while we may make and break many ties throughout our lives, we in time will still achieve a spiritual integrity. He offers the keyword ALLUREMENT, and states that when operating positively, the degree is “an insatiable appetite for enlarged experience and highly self-consummative intimacies.”
The Lunar degree symbol for the 7th degree of Gemini is “An old fashioned well.” Rudhyar says this is a degree of “deep and mature relationship between man and the basic life-giving reality of his environment,” “inner assurance,” and “poise.”
In the Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree is about “Man’s primordial faith in the hidden sustaining power of life.” He goes on to state that this is “the image of the eternal search for that which is at the root of all living processes, i.e. water,” and that a simple natural effort when we see the signs of the existence of that source will help us enter into cooperative relationship with Nature.
He goes further to offer that it’s good for us “to develop the intuitive sense which enables (us) to feel this presence and to make it effectual in (our) daily life.” So it’s about “the power of the collective and bio-spiritual energies which sustain” which can result in “a fundamental trust in and cooperation with life.” He says this degree falls in the Span of Zeal, Act of Differentiation, and Scene of Discovery on the Emotional-Cultural level.
It is interesting that last month’s Full Moon degree was “A woman of Samaria,” a symbol of the story in the new Testament when St. Issa revealed His Divine nature to a woman who he encountered at an ancestral well. The Lunar degree has now evolved from the woman at a well to simply a well under the shade of trees. Perhaps if we see the trees, go to the well, and bring the water up, maybe we can also get a revelation, in this case via the Sun stirring up a new love.
Dr. Jones says this is a degree of “the unimpeachable source of life on the side of personal self-renewal and simple organic integrity.” He speaks of our purity as a determining factor in our character, and of our ability to be ourselves as we enter relationships where we assimilate what we are to learn. Here we continually “draw in and give out the substance” of who we are, and are rewarded by Nature for “continuing to be.”
He offers us the keyword RECOMPENSE. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree “is absolute self-reliance and uncompromising faithfulness.”
From these symbols it seems we can see the light of self-renewal expressed in a form of love, perhaps an arousal of a new heart pursuit, expressed as new opportunities to break free of old ghosts and find a new faith, self-reliance, and recompense for our faithfulness. This is the fire of love expressed in a new assurance based in our mature and deep relationship with Nature and Life itself.
There are many important depth understandings promised by this Full Moon, as well as new responsibilities and realizations based in communications we’ve recently received. This will help us understand our own or another's unconscious or subconscious mind. There is major repair work to be done, but only after feeling our way to possible solutions and then finding the right ideas and ways to communicate them.
One important thing to note. In this Eclipse chart, Neptune direct is again EXACTLY opposed to TransPluto, the planet symbolizing Divine Mother Energy. That is one factor in why things are so incredibly polarized right now, and why all of humanity must be as compassionate as possible while demonstrating Viveka, or Divine Discrimination. This is offering us all to join together in the Great Mother and realize our interrelatedness on a feeling level with All-That-Is.
The energies of Divine Mother will only grow stronger throughout this century, and these will be demonstrated each time the planets make significant aspects to TransPluto. In the last Full Moon, Mercury, through making an exact T-square to Neptune opposition TransPluto, released powerful Fiery openings forcing new discoveries, attitudes, and understanding of what’s below the surface of “the waters of daily life.” This worked out most dramatically in the house where we have 1 Gemini.
A brief note on the larger Era. We approach the end of the TransPluto (Percephone/Parvati) in Leo era that we’ve known since September 20, 1935. Since October, 2011, we’ve been a transition period where this planet will dance at the last degree of Leo and first degree of Virgo through July 5, 2014. After then we enter the TransPluto in Virgo era that will last through July, 2107, when it leaves Virgo for good and re-enters Libra for the last time, also after a few years of dancing on the cusp of Virgo and Libra.
In Part 3 we'll cover the aspects, configurations, and which degree spans will be impacted by this Full Moon in Sagittarius-Gemini. See you soon!
Here are a couple of article written about Neptune opposing TransPluto back when the former was in Aquarius and the latter in Leo. Now they’ve moved into a solid opposition from Pisces to Virgo. Still, what you’ll read in these and in the internal links to other articles will help you understand how TransPluto, aka Percephone, Parvati, or Divine Mother, is influencing the 21st century and our human conception of “G_d.” And of course, I'll be updating the information in the near future.

Thank-you Robert. Fellow readers of symbols may also note that the Sabian symbol for this lunar eclipse,an "Old fashioned well with the purest and coldest water" coincides with a news release that the perma frost at the Arctic is melting, many years before they predicted it to. Not surprising to many. I'm just hoping that the canary in the mine didn't die a while back while no one was watching.

Thank you Robert, with my nth node at 29 leo and my sun at 0 cancer am devotedly doing my best with the positive aspects from the Divine Mother to my sun as well as the trine from neptune, it has been being a good and devoted mother that has delivered me into poverty, but i have a heart and conscience that has honoured the blessings of the gift of children and I feel this will serve me well to build a good new life on solid foundations now.
Down here in perth we had the most unexpectedly fierce storm that built to its peak at the time of the eclipse (10.45PM here) but couldnt see it due to the clouds, but my oh my, the winds just built from no where, the warnings of "it may be a bit blustery to best batton somethings down", was way too much of an underestimation, sadly one life was lost, fortunately it was no more and I really dont know how, it through huge trees around flattened many fences and many houses lost roofs, we are used to high winds here, but this well, was from left field, yep so IC/MC axis makes total sense...

Great read. came in the 27th, just got my car delivered to the house in Ventura, finally have my computer!!! part 1 was so on for me, brillant full moon here, missed the eclipse.Love this place and my new start, great to know it is right on time.

Hi Cathy, Ventura, CA??? Say hello to the ocean for me.
I've had a conceptual understanding of reclamation, but becoming aware of what I need to reclaim, am reclaiming is not at all what I thought.
On that track, I get echoes of what it is, where it was lost. I realized that there are markers out there to collect on. But I cannot go back to the same place, things, people, and demand payment because there is a debt. I realize that I have to open myself up to new experiences to heal that old stuff. Likewise, I have received many many gifts for which I am grateful. I too hold markers. I cannot go back to those situations or things either. But they do come together to tell me where I can give back.
Irrationality ain't all bad!
