As I noted over at FB, for my Solar Return meditation this year I did a very long walking meditation in the middle of one of the most beautiful deserts on Earth. I was surrounded by Saguaros, Barrel cacti, Cholla of all kinds, Palo Verde trees, birds and rabbits, along with mountains near and far everywhere I looked. I saw grand vistas and a lot of life yesterday.
As part of my day, I always am guided to read certain things. This year I opened to a section in "Light On The Path" about Spiritual warrioring, which is a good thing given what I am facing in my immediate future. If you haven’t taken a look at that work lately, please do so. I have read it countless times, and each reading brings deeper and more profound insights and resolve.
Via Bernadette’s tablet, we got to see our granddaughter live (isn’t computer technology utterly fantastic?!) I got to hold Yuri, my cat, for quite a while. Aum and blessings on the slow passing of a truly great Spirit. Young life and immanent death juxtaposed gave me a profound sense of something I can’t describe in words.
This year I’ll share the cards pulled on this Solar Return. I think they paint a perfect picture of my entrance into being 62, which is the culmination of the 7 year cycle I began at 56 in 2007. Those of you who know me know why that year was particularly important.
Raven. Dragonfly
The Star. The Lovers.
Tenderness.
Grace.
Balance.
Strength.
I was going to post a link to an entire album today, since it somehow resonates with what I’m going through. But I couldn’t find the entire album anywhere on the web. So I’ll link to the specific song I am listening to and contemplating today.
From his first solo album, the title track.
Also from the “All Things Must Pass” album, George and Eric live performing “What Is Life”
If you’ve ever felt like “you were on the wrong planet,” then you're in good company, and this 7 minute mini-doc of George Harrison and the album “Brainwashed” is for you. Great food for thought from a Sage.
Even though I couldn’t find the entire "All Things Must Pass" album to link to here, I’ll be listening to my cd of it over the next few days, along with his last masterpiece. For your contemplation, one of the most authentic and enjoyable songs ever written that tells the truth straight up courtesy of a disincarnated Spirit! “God God God won’t you lead us through this mess….”
